Well made and interesting food in a very nice room. Our waitress was fantastic, too. A definite recommendation if you want some gourmet-style food with good wine in Hannover.

Somewhat expensive but good place to eat. We ate outdoors. The food was very interesting. We loved the atmosphere. I would come again. They do have English menus. The wine selection was great and they will help you choose a great wine.

This was such a surprise it was so good. Top rating for ambience, service, venue, food, and drinks. You can really tell they put a lot of effort to provide a memorable dining experience. They must have an excellent chef as the presentation of the dishes was wonderful. Also, someone really paid attention to the harmonious combination of flavors as all the dishes we had were outstanding. I still think about them the morning after and that rarely ever happens. Also the selection of wines is impressive and our waitress gave excellent advice and if that is not enough they even have a sommelier. I highly recommend this restaurant and am already planning our next visit.

This place is great. Great service and sophisticated dishes at a classy venue (dress code business casual). We had the 4-course menu and every single dish was high quality. The waitress (didn't get her name, but she is tall, with short blond hair) was definitely one of the best parts of the experience -- extremely prepared, nice and welcoming, with a wonderful sense of humor.

Delicious food, great wine selection, that we unfortunately didn't manage to explore in depth this time. But it's definitely a place to come back to! I'd also like to praise attentive staff who were also willing to speak English (and though we didn't insist on it, it was nice that they offered).

Cozy atmosphere, unique interior that really made the experience beautiful. You will really feel the creativity and pride of the chef in each dish you taste. A gem in this lovely small city.

I had heard many good things about this place, but it was my first time trying it. To be honest the food was quite good but the service was extremely slow and not particularly friendly. After being seated it took us 1 hour to get drinks and even more than this to get the first plates. It wasn't particularly busy either. This really ruined my experience.

A great little bistro-style restaurant. Extensive menu with both a la carte and pri fixe options. Food is upmarket, fine dining with many creative and attractively plated choices. Wine list is very reasonable - a good, comprehensive selection without being one of those ridiculous books you need an evening to digest. Sommelier was a extremely helpful and the wine prices were pretty reasonable.

Went here our 1st night in Hanover. 10 of us for dinner, thanks to our hosts for the invitation. Other commenters are right on, upscale bistro atmosphere. Not sure it deserves #3 of 800+ on "UrbanFork" website... Started on the patio with drinks for about 1 hr. Inside, nice European atmosphere. I had a pork dish with sweet potatoes & vegetables. It was OK, thin sliced chop type sections cooked medium rare with a sauce on top. Others had the lamb, steak, and seafood dishes. It was upscale in both atmosphere and price.

Visited Basil last night and had a great experience. The service was excellent, the food was delicious (we got the tuna maki and scallops for a starter, I got the filet and my friend got the duck. Filet was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. They also gave us a complimentary tasting of their pumpkin soup which was to DIE for.). The decor is upscale and classy. Go and enjoy, but I would recommend making reservations.

c'est tres bon le restaurant

Visited during Cebit Fair, with a local resident. Not all dishes were incredible ( Filet steak was good, but unremarkable) , but the scallops and the main dish pasta were outstanding. Owner is passionately knowledgable about wine. Discuss your choice with him.
