Basílica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato

⛪️ Beautiful basilica right in the center of Guanajuato. The yellow façade is iconic and looks amazing from the plaza. Inside, the church is elegant and peaceful, with a stunning main altar and a strong sense of history. It’s easy to stop by while walking through the historic center, and it’s worth taking a few minutes to go inside. A must-see landmark when visiting the city.

This basilica is very beautiful, regardless you are religious or not it should be visited.( Please be respectful to the people who come there for payers) . A lot happening around it day and night . One of the most photographed landmarks in Guanajuato

Start your visit here at the Basilica, do a little research before you arrive. This is what lots of money can do when you have it along with devote faith. The entire city is riddled with Catholic churches, this is by far the largest and most impressive. The Pope even agreed when he elevated its status to Basilica.

One of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen till this day. Had to fly my drone to see the beauty from up in the air. Inside was even better but have in mind it is a church so be respectful.

A beautiful yellow colors that stands out apart from the rest of the city. On the tour we learned the Europeans have them the Virgen Mary and the miners donated the stand she is on. There is preserved body I didn’t get too close to read on it

Located in a great part of the city, I recommend stopping here for a Daily Mass or a Holy Hour if you have a chance! There is definitely a European influence on the surrounding architecture. Many outdoor restaurants nearby to grab a quick meal and relax.

Beautiful church, it might be a central monument of the city, you can spot it from many parts of Guanajato. Great place to visit while you are in town, it dates back from 17th century, Baroque style. It is another great way to learn more about the history of the city! Nice organ and fresca-s inside, huge church. I love the yellow color it's painted from outside, a landmark of the city, for sure!

if there are no mass / events going on you enter the church freely to check it out! this was my first time going in as last time i don't believe the church doors / gates were open. the church is very well preserved and it's absolutely beautiful! i don't think i've ever been in such a beautiful catholic church before. apparently the gold material in the church are real gold as guanajuato is known for gold mining in colonial days. bougie! and talk about all the beautiful chandeliers! i'll take one of each :)
