Basilica di San Salvatore

Cant wait to restore this rare jewel. Probably most important historical building in Spoleto area, built in 8 or 9th century by Langobards and there is only one more in the world. So unique architecture and under UNESCO heritage protection. Will come back in 10 years to check! For now you can only have wishfull thoughts behind glass at the door.

Attualmente in fase di restauro, se ne è potuta ammirare la sola facciata, con ingresso dal cimitero, che consente la teatrale visione del prospetto, prodotta dallo scalone con le due ali neoclassiche.

Niestety obecnie bazylika jest w remoncie. Dostęp do przeszklenia z widokiem na nawę główną jest od strony cmentarza. Na czas remontu również w środku są rusztowania i niewiele widać. Można jedynie podziwiać fasadę budynku. Google Maps błędnie prowadzi na tył bazyliki. Aby dotrzeć do frontu bazyliki i przeszklonego wejścia należy wejść główną aleją na teren cmentarza i skręcić w prawo.

Het is nog steeds gesloten en gaat denk ik niet snel open. Het was een steile wandeling omhoog, gelukkig in de schaduw. Jammer dat het verlaten is en zo te zien zijn ze niet echt hard aan het werk om weer te openen. De buitenkant ziet er namelijk veelbelovend uit.

Purtroppo è chiusa. L’interno è visibile da un vetro, ma è in abbandono.
