Absolutely breathtaking. The Basilica di Sant’Anastasia is not just a church it feels like stepping into a living painting. The details of the frescoes, the light filtering through the arches, and the calm silence inside create a truly divine atmosphere. A must visit for anyone who loves art, architecture, and quiet beauty.

The Basilica di Santa Anastasia is one of the four historic churches of Verona. The architecture is stunning and the frescoes, sculptures and artwork are just beautiful. The entrance fee is €4 however if you pay €8, you can visit all four churches on one ticket. All four churches are worth visiting.

The subdued exterior gives way to a sumptuous interior with a vast nave and several side chapels, all embellished with impressive works of art. The roof structure has had to be reinforced with steel ties to arrest movement which spoils the ceiling vistas but maybe something more visually sensitive could be designed in a future restoration?

I recommend getting a 4 church pass, which lets you onto the 4 main churches. The church on the outside doesn't look impressive, but nevertheless.the inside is very impressive. If you get the chance, go and have a look. I would definitely recommend going and seeing for yourself.

Stunning! We visited many churches and this has to rate as my favourite. The free audio guide is fabulous. Means you get a better understanding of all that art and you dont miss anything. We loved it! We got a 4 church E8 ticket

Yelp
Secured when we were here but we took the time to appreciate the exterior. This Gothic styled church is in the oldest part of the town, not far from the Ponte Pietra https://www.yelp.com/biz/ponte-pietra-verona-3?hrid=1Rqn7LFUZsDFHiqdwdZw_Q. The building was started in 1280 and construction continued for another 120 years, finally completing in 1400 and then consecrated in 1471. The façade is divided into three vertical section corresponding to the nave and the two aisles in the interior. Unfinished, the façade is mostly in brickwork. The center of the middle section is a simply rose window. From what I've read, the interior is impressive and I would expect so for a six-hundred-year-old church. [Review 16995 overall - round number 200 in Italy - 511 of 2022.]

Yelp
This church here looks quite a bit different than the several other ones in this city. Finished in 1400 in gothic style, it is quite an amazing sight. Coming from the front you will almost miss the big belltower. The front entrance is almost made in a simple architecture, typical for the gothic period. From far it almost appears (by the color) made from wood, but of course it's not. There are many lovely churches and cathedrals in town, but this needs to be on the to-do list, and if only because of the different style it has.

Yelp
Verona is an absolutely wonderful town. It has a variety of beautiful historical sites and great restaurants but except for the Opera Festival season it is uncrowded and you can enjoy yourself without the relentless crowds of Rome, Venice and Florence. It is awesome to be able to walk around and see the sights without hordes of others intruding on your personal space. The four major churches - the Basilica of Sant'Anastasia, the Basilica of San Zeno, the Church of San Fermo, and the Duomo are a must see. They are all within walking distance of one another and you can buy a ticket at any of one of them which gives access to all four. The website for the churches of Verona (chieseverona.it) is very informative and there are also printed guides available at each site. Unless you have little time and an iron constitution I wouldn't advise trying to see all of the churches in a single day. These churches have a rich history in some cases dating from the Lombard days - the fourth century. The current buildings are more recent but are still hundreds of years old. Beautiful uncrowded interiors with a fantastic history- what more could you ask for?

Yelp
Surprise inside! That's how we felt when we viewed this ordinary looking building from outside, thinking surely we were in the wrong place; but once we walked inside, we were rather shocked by how beautiful it was. Loved the lifelike hunchback supports along the floor. Lots of intricate and interesting things to see throughout; included as part of the Verona Card, at 20 Euro each, which we purchased at the train station before heading into town.

Yelp
I was amazed with this place! it was HUGE! the detail in all of the art work and everything was just amazing! You can get a package deal to see all of the churches for a low price or just pay to see one at a time. I only hit this one up because its the one I wanted to see. This is a must see stop if you are in Verona and enjoy seeing the churches/cathedrals and their impressive architecture.
