We filmed at Basilica a couple of weeks ago it instantly became one of our favorite places to tell a story! The industrial textures, tall windows, and an open floor plan makes it so dreamy for photo+video. There is lots of natural light and space that flows beautifully for guests and vendors. From a filmmakers perspective, the atmosphere all feels very cinematic and very ideal to use the drone. Even in low light with the candles there is a certain kind of energy that radiates. The team was wonderful to work with and gave everyone space to work effortlessly. For people looking for a modern and industrial-chic space, Basilica Hudson is one of the best settings you could ask for!

Bundling the venue, wedding planner, and caterer into one since you have to work with all three if you’re hosting your wedding at Basilica. Let me start by saying I’d host my wedding here time and time again. In the end, everything was beyond beautiful. We first chose Basilica because we loved the unique look of the venue and the ability to personalize it to our wants. While we absolutely got this from the venue, there were some bumps along the way. The first was working with the wedding planner, who was amazing at all of the behind-the-scenes details and big ticket items. However, I wouldn’t say she was the best at the smaller details. She does so many weddings that up until two months before our wedding, it didn’t feel like we had her attention. And then when we were in crunch time, there were a few small details that (even though they didn’t matter at the end of the day) were missed. As for Local 111, overall, the food was incredible. We love that we were able to customize the menu and work directly with the chef to create exactly what we wanted to serve. My only note was that I’m not sure what we picked translated perfectly to 200+ people. However, overall, it was much better than other weddings we’ve been to at other venues we toured. All in, I’d chose this venue time and time again, but with the knowledge that I needed to be a bit more involved in managing the details themselves.

I went here for the first time during their Farm and Flea event, I was amazed by the size of the place! They were able to fit at least 100 vendors, the only photos I took were of these GORGEOUS handmade wreaths from one of the vendors. I only gave 4 stars because I tripped UP the grey stairs TWICE, if management is reading this PLEASE consider putting a thin strip of neon tape on the edge of each stair.

Basilica Hudson is an extraordinary venue, perfectly suited for an unforgettable wedding experience. The space effortlessly accommodated a full schedule, including an intimate cocktail hour, wedding ceremony, reception, and brunch for approximately 150+ guests. The design of Basilica Hudson is a model of clean and resilient architecture, thoughtfully paired with mindful historic rehabilitation. The balance between the building’s original industrial character and the elegant modern updates invites guests to explore and appreciate the many stunning architectural details throughout the space. It is both intimate and inviting, creating a warm atmosphere without sacrificing grandeur. Every aspect of the venue — from the convenient on-site parking to the flexible bar, cocktail, and dinner spaces — contributed to a seamless and memorable experience. Its location is also ideal, with The Wick Hotel just a short walk away, making accommodations for guests effortless. I highly recommend Basilica Hudson to anyone seeking a distinctive, beautiful, and well-managed venue for their special event

We went to Basilica Hudson to see a Climate Action film festival. I had never heard of Basilica but have seen it from the water while kayaking in Hudson. The building looks old but it has been renovated to be energy efficient. I like that they kept the original look of the building. I hope to go to another event at the Basilica. Hudson has turned into a great river town with lots of good places to eat and things to do. Now that we know about Basilica I’m sure we will be back.

The Basilica is a beautiful! I had the pleasure to photograph a wedding here earlier this month and it was wonderful! There is plenty of space for 200+ guests, a big dance floor and a buffet! I love the industrial feel of this venue and I hope to work here again soon!

Google
We can't say enough good things about The Basilica Hudson and Jeanne at Hudson Valley Ceremonies that is a part of the venue. They helped us throw the coolest, most enchanting, stylish, FUN wedding that any of our guests have ever been to. The venue itself is stunning but with the staff just making the process so easy and fun for us, we are so happy we found the perfect venue and team to make our dream day a reality.

Google
Am amazing venue to see a live band. The sound is maybe not the very best but it is good enough and is more than made up for by the stunning building and thoughtfully laid out facilities that make entry and exit a breeze, bars and toilets very accessible and the merch stand tantalisingly on-hand. We went in autumn so it was a little cold and wet but I suspect in the warmer months it’s utterly magical.

Yelp
While a cool venue in an artsy town that is a fun and easy destination for guests, our experience with the planning team was completely horrible. They were hands down the most unprofessional event planning team I have ever experienced. All smiles and good wishes on the onset, but 'oh-so-busy-all-the-time' thereafter. Expect unreturned emails and phone calls, petty upsells, strategic disorganization, no vision, some rudeness and a lot of weird math. After about the umpteenth 'now what' it sadly felt like this small-minded, sidewinder approach was what they thought was smart business.

Yelp
BRIDES BEWARE: Hidden Fees, and unprofessional coordinator Parker. Renting the basilica for your wedding is very expensive, $13k expensive, but what they don't disclose is that $13k is just the start of the fees they will randomly hit you with. If you're like me and money is valuable to you, then please keep reading before you book. Here is a *short* list of all the ways Parker at Basilica scams you: -1) First contract included a caveat that IF basilica gets a liquor license within 6 months you must pay them and undisclosed amount for alcohol. Parker refused to give us an amount to budget for this secret clause. -2) Next issue was when Parker rented out the Friday of our wedding without telling us the amount we would receive back. She promised us we'd "split" the cost which would mean $6k, but in reality we only received $2k back, and the Friday bride still paid the full amount. When we said no, we were told it's too late to go back and she wouldn't even issue us a new contract detailing out the change because she didn't have time. At this point we knew our contract meant nothing. -3) Third issue was when we wanted to bring in all our own rentals, including lights, since of course the lights are extra. Parker told us it would cost us a fee to remove the lights, and that we had to pay to rent the lights from her. -4) Fourth issue was after we just gave in to paying for lights that we couldn't take down, we decided to add on tables. We originally ordered 20 to be safe but we got our final count and only needed 15. Parker told us we couldn't change the tables because the Friday bride needed more. -5) One week before our wedding, we were then told we owed tax on the rentals for the lights and table rentals, even after we had her confirm there were no more incremental hidden fees. -6) Lastly our "refundable" security deposit apparently contains a $400 non-refundable cleaning fee which we also found out days before the wedding. I pray that the Basilica hires a new, professional coordinator so no other couple has to go what we went through. Good luck!!

Yelp
Way to many people - it was raining and the line was insane. Also charged $5 bucks entry fee to be shuffled around like cattle. Terrible experience Will never ever ever return.. Ever!

Yelp
I would just like to say my cousin had just gotten married here on Nov 7th 2015. It seriously was such an awesome time. The food there was delicious. The venue was very spacious. For an abandoned warehouse look venue, I really enjoyed my time! The place was set up so nicely! I really believe that any couple that is looking to get married in a "rural/warehouse/bootlegger/country/old school" style wedding. I highly suggest taking a look at this place. It's located in the beautiful town of Hudson NY.

Yelp
I've been to Basilica Hudson for a couple events since the all-purpose space opened a few years ago. The programs offered by BH are varied and include book readings, film presentations, and art installations. The Basilica also plays host to the wildly successful Farm and Flea, providing local vendors and artisans with a platform to showcase their particular areas of specialty. I visited Basilica Hudson most recently in early September 2015. On this night, the venue played host to a national touring band and warm-up for the coming weekend's Basilica Soundscape festival. If you didn't know it, it's likely that you will drive right past the enormous warehouse, designating it as yet another dilapidated warehouse dotting the Hudson. And while a closer inspection will validate this perception, you'll find that the Basilica is much more than a work in progress. The space is comprised of three primary rooms - the main floor, a sizable bar/lounge area, and movie-theater style seating room. At this event, the stage was located at the front of the main floor, with the bar immediately to its right. To my surprise, the sound in the Basilica is quite good. In my experience, enormous and mostly hollow spaces like this tend to produce a heavy echo, which can be distracting as a concert-goer. Speaking of space, the Basilica has lots of it, providing an excellent line of sight to the stage, no matter where you stand. On the night that I visited, it just so happened to be one of the hottest days of the entire summer. This contributed to an absolutely sweltering environment, as the heat just sat in the room with no real circulation. While this made things a little uncomfortable, the conditions really couldn't have been avoided. In the end, the heat didn't take away from a really incredible concert experience. If you live near Hudson and have the opportunity to take in an event at the Basilica, it is highly recommended. In addition to offering a diverse range of events, you'll have a blast exploring this truly unique space.

Yelp
I wish Basilica Hudson was closer to Albany, but it is perfectly situated among the rolling hills of the Catskills and tucked deep away in the decaying industrial section of Hudson. I've seen a couple shows here and it's an easy set up for performers, despite the lack of a real back stage area. The bar is stocked with limited options, but don't be expecting Bud Light or Coor's Light. This place has a rugged sense of upscale class that is not easily swayed by the easier options that most consumers tend to fall far. If there's a band playing here that you're familiar with, but not quite sure if you want to go, my suggestion is to spend the money and make the trip. This venue has as much personality as the performers that fill the space.

Yelp
My husband and I hosted our wedding and reception here this past weekend. Incredible and beautiful space, albeit a raw space that requires more effort than most to prepare. It can also be hot as blazes in the summer, particularly if the wedding falls on the hottest day of the year. But none of this is a complaint. In fact, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating with all of our needs, questions and requests, and even apologized for the tight turnaround the following morning when a NYC dance troupe needed to take the space a little earlier than expected (which I'd agreed to months before, but forgot in the excitement of the day).

Yelp
At this time this seems to be the only place in Hudson capable of hosting a large event. It is nor particularly comfortable and weather outside is noticed inside eventually: warm or cool. The catering of the event was just ok. It was consistent with restaurant quality in town though. The dinner was interesting but vegetables were not properly cooked in my opinion and passing around a bowl of whole fish creates serving difficulties. The hors d'oeuvres were pretty good. Alcohol service was good. Acoustics were good for an old factory. Parking was a challenge. There is no real parking lot.

Yelp
Great spot for eclectic movies, bands, readings, etc. We went to the Soundscape weekend in 2014, featuring a variety of interesting artists and performers in what must be the most pleasant outdoor festival on the planet. The converted factory offers attendees tons of space. Will definitely do again in 2015.
