Stepping inside St. Nicholas Church reveals one of the most beautifully preserved baroque interiors in Gdańsk. The central nave is bright and perfectly aligned, guiding the view toward the richly decorated main altar, where golden details and carved elements stand out immediately. Each side chapel offers a different atmosphere: from the dramatic black-and-gold altar with its expressive icon to the softer pink chapel, which adds warmth and color to the visit. Above the entrance, the decorative balcony creates symmetry and gives additional depth to the space — a striking architectural feature that elevates the whole interior. The church is peaceful, well maintained, and easily accessible throughout the day, even during small preparations or moments of prayer. Its location just steps from the Old Town makes it a perfect stop for anyone who enjoys architecture, fine religious art, and quiet spaces.

This is hide gem in Gdańsk. The church is in excellent condition, preserved in orginal state, beautiful inside architecture. Located near other attractions, so you can easily get there. If you are there already, look near the church the statue of Duke of Pomerania Swantopolk II.

The only church in Gdansk which got not destroyed during the war! I really enjoyed the medieval frescoes, partially, not every detail, is in good shape. It tells you the view of the people of the medieval centuries, their understanding of the religious world and the way of story telling. It helps me to bring me closer to this world.

A beautiful and deeply atmospheric church – one of the oldest in Gdańsk, with roots in the 12th century. Given to the Dominican Order in 1227, it became a major spiritual and cultural center. The current Gothic structure was built in the 14th–15th centuries. Miraculously, it survived WWII without damage, unlike most of the city, and still holds original furnishings and stunning details. It made a big impression on me – peaceful, dignified, and full of history. Wonderful to see such monuments in Gdańsk being restored and preserved so well.

This church is one that will stay with me forever as I attended during my childhood. As of recent because of foundation issues the church has been going through major renovations. I just stepped in and is something you have to experience. If you are just site seeing lots to see. If you catch the organist practicing much added bonus. However if you looking for a quiet place with deep roots to past and future. Just looking to reset your plane and catch the balance. This is the place. I went there on Sunday and loved everything. About it. Find out for yourself I hope you share my experience
