Stepping inside St. Nicholas Church reveals one of the most beautifully preserved baroque interiors in Gdańsk. The central nave is bright and perfectly aligned, guiding the view toward the richly decorated main altar, where golden details and carved elements stand out immediately.
Each side chapel offers a different atmosphere: from the dramatic black-and-gold altar with its expressive icon to the softer pink chapel, which adds warmth and color to the visit. Above the entrance, the decorative balcony creates symmetry and gives additional depth to the space — a striking architectural feature that elevates the whole interior.
The church is peaceful, well maintained, and easily accessible throughout the day, even during small preparations or moments of prayer. Its location just steps from the Old Town makes it a perfect stop for anyone who enjoys architecture, fine religious art, and quiet spaces.
