My Suggested 4 Day Prague Itinerary for 2025

"For a luxurious stay, Augustine is set in a still-working monastery from the Middle Ages and is one of the nicest hotels in the city; its basement bar even serves homemade beer brewed from a recipe used by the on-property monks." - Matthew Kepnes

Overall the stay was good but there's definite room for improvement with the room we stayed in. The options were odd (interior rooms or something very small and spa orientated) so we opted for the smaller room with a king bed so we'd have windows but they were all frosted over which was odd. The air conditioning unit was very loud. There was a fan as well which was nice. The room is very tiny and if you're not very close to your traveling partner I wouldnt recommend the Sage room on the spa floor. Spa staff is also right there (doing laundry perhaps?) and was coming and going a lot and it didn't feel private...or at all sound proofed. You're meant to be quiet on this floor as well bc there are actual massages going on in the other rooms sprinkled along the way. I would have normally gotten a massage but did not have time in our stay. The bathroom was very big and boasted a "2 person shower" but there's only one shower head so unless someone enjoys being cold, it's not really a 2 person. The bed had a pretty big stain on the fabric frame and I was not a fan of that. Such an odd thing to let go and there's no way the maid didn't see it. Also there was a mark/stain on the dresser that could have been treated and was not. Other than that, everything appeared clean. The door and locking mechanisms were hard to figure out at first and there's a chain lock that doesnt actually even reach the door so that was odd. There was a mini fridge and microwave which were nice. The bellhop (an older fellow) was very personable and hard working. The parking situation wasn't ideal but it was workable. Loading and unloading on a friday was a bit of a pain but it worked out overall. The Jack Rabbett's whiskey bar was nice but could use some more seating. It has several Tvs so we posted up to watch a college football game which was nice. The poor bartender (shaved head, beard) was so nice and friendly and such a hard worker but he was SLAMMED. Sounded like someone called in and he was on his own. We would have stayed longer if there wasnt a constant line for a drink. Poor guy was handling it in stride though. There was a young girl at the cupcake stand by parking who was so sweet, she may have been slightly asian or something of the like? Dark hair and very sweet. The parking attendant was also very nice and friendly. The Basin is in the middle of everything basically and a great location if you want to ditch your car and walk everywhere.

We were booked at the 1886 Crescent Hotel but their elevator was out of service. I can’t do long staircases. We agreed to be booked down the hill at the Basin Park. Same owner. Much smaller but charming. We had a 2 room suite. Bathroom nicely updated with a jacuzzi. Comfy bed. Great restaurant and even a game room. Fun ghost tour nightly. I loved their daily texts about activities and offers. Wonderful staff. The shuttle drivers will take you to restaurants, and to your car. Parking is about 2 blocks away. No pool but you can use the one at the Crescent. A couple of drawbacks: The shower floor was as slick as ice with no grab bars at the shower entrance. Very dangerous. The easy chair and sofa , the only places to sit, were much too low and soft for me, a short old lady with bad joints. I literally needed my husband to pull me out of them. The hotel happily provided an extra straight chair. It’s in the heart of the shops. But the Crescent is still on my bucket list. May their elevator be healed soon.

This hotel is all about the experience and its unique location, because you will have to compromise a few things compared to modern standards. The wooden floors crack, and you will hear your neighbors and the people walking down the hallway. We also endured some tobacco and pot smell, since our room was right next to a public balcony that people use to smoke. It was not too bad, but just so you know what's ahead. The room itself is rather quaint, and they preserved the look from early last century. It does come with a TV and a A/C window unit. Unfortunately, they added a modern shower that did not fit in the whole ambiance. We got a quick ride to and from the parking lot, that was working well. And we also enjoyed our huckleberry pie and a good meal on the balcony looking over Main Street. As long as you know you're not getting all your modern conveniences, you'll probably enjoy staying here.

The price was right for the location and the chance to stay in a hotel that is rumored to be one of the most haunted places in the US was too good to pass up. The room was small, but to be expected with an older hotel. Small refrigerator and a good place to hang our riding gear were both pleasant surprises, as was the protected storage area for our motorcycle (AKA bike jail). Like many older hotels, the place could use a little sprucing up here and there however, including a good deep clean. The paint job was atrocious and we noticed missing paint in some places while it was noticeably slopped all over the lighting fixtures in other spots. The bathroom had a nice jetted tub but we didn't use it as it looked like it had been a while since it had a good cleaning. (There were noticeable amounts of pink bacteria built up in the water inlet.) We also noticed some stray hairs from shaving around the sink area left behind by a previous guest. It wasn't a huge deal, but kind of makes you wonder what else they didn't clean after the last guest left. Staff was super friendly, and having a game room as an optional hang out in case of rainy weather was a great bonus. We did some exploring around the building, including wandering up to the top floor where we saw a creepy old doll in the middle of the room. It was an excellent touch that added to the hotel's spooky vibe. All in all we probably won't be staying here again, but are glad we gave it a try at least once.

My husband and I got married this past week and after an exhausting and adrenaline filled day, getting to come back and stay at this beautiful hotel. The historical feel made me fall in love, the staff was spot on rockstars and the food at the Balcony restaurant was delicious. I was absolutely recommend this hotel to a quality stay!

Google
We've stayed at the Basin numerous times. The history of the hotel is amazing. The hotel is the hub of downtown. Hotel staff have been friendly and helpful. Shuttle for parking is good, during operating hours. Restaurants and bar are really good. It is a very old hotel and is charming. Don't expect brand new anything, anywhere. If you want coffee, forget about it. Unless you want to wait until the sun has been up for 3 hours. Shops around hotel don't open until 9/10am. So if you want breakfast or coffee, you must leave the hotel, walk a mile to your vehicle(shuttle service starts at 7am), and drive somewhere to find a restaurant or coffee shop. Come back to hotel parking lot, walk another mile up the mountain, and back to the hotel. The good thing about this town is there are plenty of places to stay, choose wisely.

Google
Basin Park Hotel is a gem right in the heart of Eureka Springs. I love this place because of the hotel itself - its historical significance, unique & clean rooms. The staff is also amazing- they are responsive, kind, and really make an effort to get to know the guests. Finally - the location. Basin Park is right in the middle of downtown Eureka Springs, so you can walk to all the local shops & restaurants without needing transportation. All in all - if you're making a trip to Eureka - this is the place to stay!!

We paid extra upon check-in for late check-out at 1400. The next day I was called on my cell phone at 1330 and the room phone was called constantly until we left the room. Housekeeping and the bellhop even came to our room multiple times before 1400. This behavior is unacceptable when you charge customers for late checkout. We also paid extra for a roll-a-way bed that didn't stay inflated, and our bed mattress was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. There was a fire alarm/carbon monoxide alarm directly above the bed that flashed a bright green light. The couch was the most comfortable item in the room. The jacuzzi was dirty and didn't work. I'm thankful we got this room at a discount rate because I would have been very upset to pay a premium price for this room. We visited the Balcony Restaurant, and the staff was very friendly, but we also felt very rushed out of there as well. My family will give great consideration before staying or recommending this place to friends to family.

Yelp
Pros: servers at breakfast were friendly Cons: everything else. i saw reviews that this was the best place to stay so I booked it. If this is the best, we need to redefine that word. The employee at check in was dour and seemed annoyed we were there. When I questioned the almost $20 activity fee he was physically exasperated. Good thing I didn't ask about the $5+ gratuity fee just for checking in. The room was dark and dingy with holes in the walls, ratty, old carpeting and not a lot of space. If I paid $75 I'd think, okay I got what I paid for; it was 3x that amount. Outrageous for a room like that. I would not stay there again if it was free, it was that uncomfortable, and I would never recommend it to anyone. Find other accommodations for sure.

Yelp
This is an older hotel and while historic it can also be annoying. For example, there is only 1 elevator which is very slow and small. The staircase is very narrow and busy. The carpet throughout is dated. However, there is much charm. There are a few daily resort activities which is good to take advantage of. We really enjoyed the wine tasting in the cave as well as the morning history walk. The concierge is fantastic. The check in staff was mediocre, unwelcoming and lacked customer service skills. On a hot day it would have been a welcome gesture to have water available for guests. The doorman and the shuttle driver were great. There is a balcony restaurant that offers mediocre food choices, however, there is a view and it is covered from the elements. There is a Jack Rabbet bar and a game room. There is also a spa and a jacuzzi tub on the deck.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff. Can't beat this location and proximity to shops and restaurants. Somewhat renovated historic hotel, showing wear and tear needing attention. Parking situation is awkwardly blocks way however shuttle to and from lot is available. Biggest downer was the sole elevator and wait times.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday this was my 1st time in Eureka Springs and it will definitely be the last will not recommend , on the positive Check in was easy nice guy helped us , but then Fire alarm goes off at 830am , non stop noise from the surrounding rooms, our room temp no matter what we did was HOT , the bed was super hard. And there is several japanese beetles in the room also saw another kind of bug it was go into an air vent. Lots of wear and tear from top to bottom in the room. The front office staff seemed unbothered that the fire alarm went off. If you are looking for friendly staff other than the bartender and the guy at the desk this place ain't it. They don't even greet you or smile. The restaurant- the positive. the bartender was good friendly I think her name was Jasmin The rest of the staff sat around giggling/cackling at or talking about other patrons. It was very LOUD due to the staff mostly. The food was basic my husband got sick from his hamburger. Maybe the locals like this place but we did not enjoy anything about our stay we did try. If you love bugs , worn out rooms , and over feeling that nothing is clean this is your place. If we hadn't prepaid we would have left, definitely a birthday to forget .

Yelp
Friendly staff, nice and quick shuttle service. The hotel is old... there will be creaks, paint issues, blemishes... this is a part of the ambiance. It made the stay pretty cool to experience the history. Nice location right in the middle to walk to everything.

Fred R.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed and room size, nice added activities included, and a shuttle to help get around town. The Jack Rabbett Whiskey bar is a great place to shoot some pool and enjoy a cocktail. We met Jazz, our mixologist, the first night and looked forward to enjoying our conversation with her before turning in each night. I'll be back!

Yelp
My husband and I had a fantastic trip to Eureka staying at the basin Park hotel. The hotel holds the charm and history while having nice new amenities as well. The room was very clean and the staff was so friendly! It had a great shuttle service with very helpful personnel. We ate at the balcony restaurant very good with nice music a perfect ambience. I just cannot say enough good stuff about this hotel. And it was fantastic to be downtown within walking distance to all the fantastic shopping and restaurants.

Yelp
The Basin Park Hotel had been a mystery which challenged our curiosity for several years. We have stayed at other hotels, motels, and The Crescent to name a few. I prefer the Basin Park Hotel over the Crescent, I know they are related establishments... IN MY OPIONION... we have grown to like the Crescent yes, but the Basin wins this round. The BPH is nestled in the downtown shopping area where everything is mostly easy access by foot. There is the park too to people watch and rest your feet. The Balcony restaurant has been our favorite place to stop and grab a couple of quick bites with a drank or a soda! The Fall ambiance and decorations for Halloween set the mood during our stay. The whole town was relished in Halloween. I do appreciate the growing of ES and the welcoming folks. We would stay at the BPH -a lot to write. Due to the fact there is a neat spa deck, a place for the kiddos in the game room... or watch tv -same floor as the Balcony Restaurant. Just absolutely more things for families to do here rather than the CH.. they both are historical places with enchantment, but you have to decide what you are getting for your hard earns. The Crescent, is louder due to their weddings and parties... so I'll leave it at that. I'm not a Debbie downer, I just never stayed at the Basin until this week. It made up for all the years I've never got to stay. Worth it!! ***Tip: there is no parking lot to easily access the BPH. Once you're done establishing your stay time, check in. Park parallel to the adjacent yellow curb -15 max park to check in and load your luggage/belongings while you get your key at your room. While you place your things in your room, the desk will give you a parking placard for your dash board. The parking here is at 101 N. Main, but you need that parking placard first. You fill out the bottom of it, and detach and place in a locked mail box so they know you are parking there. There is a shuttle that will take you back to the hotel or anywhere downtown you need to go. This is a plus for the disabled and tired. Call the number on the placard if you need a ride from the parking lot. This lot I'm sure is for the BPH guests only, so don't get towed without the placard. You will not be able to park as you please at the hotel. Hope this helps. Have a great time. And don't forget to tip the shuttle drivers, bar keeps, and wait staff. They all do an excellent service maintaining their patience and pleasant composure.

Yelp
Thank you Basin Park for such a wonderful experience! Not only is this an amazing hotel with so much history, but the staff went over the top to make us feel welcome, taken care of, and were all so kind and personable. You can tell they all take pride in their work and the relationships they build with their guests. This hotel has clean rooms, history, and there are so many things to do on the property. Not to mention, it's within walking distance of so many Eureka Springs "must-sees". Thank you to the shuttle service as well, you guys were wonderful! We will definitely be coming back, and grabbing some more huckleberry pie!

Dan R.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay and hang out a couple days. Positives-- location, LG spacious rooms, Balcony restaurant and helpful friendly staff. Negative-- the elevator only functioned part Time. Book the room at least 2 days As the town has much to see/ drink/ eat and Do!

Yelp
Steve Jones the musician outside Is local and so so friendly!!!!!The waitress/waitress(my girl,Sara)worked hard and are extremely friendly as well!!!! My drink(1905)so yummy and talk about one and done I'm In:)A must!!!!! stop and have a drink on the balcony food. Awesome music even better. Go to the 6th floor and take a look.... a huge ball room up there that you can overlook. Pics to follow and thanks again Sara and Steve for a great experience in Eureka

Dan B.

Yelp
Like the Crescent, old and historic with cool history (take the tour with Michael, he's a gem and goes over a lot of hotel and town facts and history). The hotel needs to replace carpet in hallways as they're stained and rumpled. Jack Rabbett's Whisky Bar: very cool space. And it ends there. Went two nights in a row and had a different bartender each evening. They were both lazy and grumpy. Spend your money elsewhere until they get trained up on customer service.

Yelp
Stayed in room 306, definitely had an experience with what I truly believe was the child spirit of the little girl there. I got woke up with a burning feeling on my right breast...and found a bite mark that is still healing! Stayed Sept 19-22. I haven't felt good all week after returning home... and my son and family stayed in room 308 and they had several experiences as well...woke up in the middle of night to their door opening slowly and another time walked in after being out for several hours and it smelt like old cologne....it's definitely a place to stay that has lots of history and charm. If you believe in these things you will definitely feel their presence. The staff was very nice and rooms are nice! Each room is very different too so make sure you ask what's in them when booking because 306 is the smallest room on 3rd floor...and the most haunted!

Dennis L.

Yelp
Food was ok, service was great, BUT!!! They added a ridiculous automatic tip called "Service Pool" at 18%!!! How presumptuous! Carpe Diem! I'll never return. Damn.

Lori W.

Yelp
great location for downtown Eureka Springs shops (although not many good shops open anymore if honest) Yes it has old charm, bed was comfortable and staff was friendly. That being said there is old charm and then just plain tired and neglected. The carpet needs some serious attention-cleaned and stretched. The living room furniture was pretty rough-so much I refused to sit on it. again just neglect in my opinion.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay. Great room. Nice ambiance. Will be back! Restaurant on rooftop very good.

Yelp
Booked a couples stress fix massage appointment and honestly it was one of the best things ever!!! Marilyn and Marc were so great! So relaxing and calming. The bed was the perfect temp, and comfortable. The essential oils were the perfect level of scent. The pressure was perfect and she found knots on me that.....ouch!!! But now feels so much better! Can't thank you enough Marilyn!

Lauren M.

Yelp
One of our favorites stays ever. We stayed here for our elopement and had our first dance in the empty ballroom at the top of the hotel. The hotel itself has so much history and they've done an amazing job at freezing it in time which we really appreciate. The staff at the check in counter (shout out Diane) , the car service offered and restaurant/bar personnel were top notch. If you're scared about it being too spooky, it wasn't for us! While it's a stunning timepiece of the past, ultimately what made it perfect for us was the customer service from everyone we encountered during our stay. We plan to come back for anniversary's to come and exclusively stay at the Basin Park Hotel. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!

Lonnie E.

Yelp
We are staying in Room 303 for 2 nights. We're staying for a Sunday and Monday night. Found out the bed was hard as a rock and the continental breakfast that we were told about when we checked in. Only operates on Saturdays and Sundays not on Monday mornings. So you have to find some place here in town within walking distance because your car is nowhere near you. The front desk told us the only place open at 8 am was The Mud Cafe. So we walked there. Food was great and coffee was good $50.00 for breakfast is high in my book for 2 people. For $500.00 for 2 nights you would think the bed would be comfy. Jack Rabbits whiskey bar does have good drinks and the hors d'oeuvres aren't bad at all.

Chenelle F.

Yelp
I would rate negative 5 if I could. At 11 pm sounds like a herd of elephants having a party above our room. It's the game room. Hotel had no quiet time. Ac does work well in our room and there isn't a maintenance person at night. Very disappointing experience at this hotel. Walls are very thin you can hear everything! We will not be back . Don't recommend!

Yelp
My family and I stayed inside of the Basin Park Hotel over the weekend and absolutely enjoyed ourselves! They were very accommodating to your needs! We also were able to bring our Great Dane to stay with us! We enjoyed the wine tasting offered on the weekends. The hotel included a Bar,Spa, and restaurant! The hotel was very historic and located down town! They also offer a shuttle for free to take and drop you off wherever needed! They made our first time to Eureka Springs very welcoming and warming!

Yelp
I am pretty much over the fact that this place is ancient (Built in the late 1880's) and needs updating. I have had a few stays here, each room very different in size, but comfortable nonetheless. The rooms are quaint, and the air conditioning works perfectly. So when I'd get back to my room from the hot weather, it is nice and cooool! Beds are very comfortable, housekeeping is wonderful and considerate...they left me a bag of fresh towels and toiletries since I had the privacy please sign on my door. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. The parking??! A bit confusing. You can park for a few minutes in front of the hotel to check in, then they will explain to you where to park. It's a short driving distance from the hotel. So this is the time drop off all your belongings and company at the hotel while you drive and park and use the phone at the small white shack to bring you back to the hotel...Same goes for getting you back to your car. This hotel has a lovely restaurant balcony and bar with decent food on the first floor, a spa on the second. Great restaurants nearby...I recommend eating dinner at The Grotto. It's walking distance from hotel, and our favorite place to eat!! I also enjoy the Mud Street Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Stroll along Main/Spring Streets plentiful boutique shops while the local performer plays his instrument of choice, and then teeter the idea of going on a haunted ghost tour nearby. Those are a few things to do, these are just some of my favorites. Check out Basinpark.com or EurekaSprings.org Peace out!

Yelp
We have stopped here to eat many times before when riding in the area. Usually the food is good with no issues. Tonight we had the Friday night fish fry special. To put it bluntly it was awful. The fish, what there was , was extremely bland with zero flavor. So go with anything else on the menu, but steer clear of the fish fry.

Yelp
stayed on memorial weekend for three nites. the people were not kind in any way nor were they helpful. power was out and they no food available or ice for after so we could not be treated to anything. we had vouchers to eat but they didnt try to come up its anything for us. asked for a snack and she brought out two bags of chips and charged us 6.00 for it! they provided no substitute for breakfast! so voucher was useless. they didn't offer us anything for substitute! I can tell you we will never stay there again! we paid almost 800.00 dollars to stay there! we could have stayed on the street and Been better. My message to the public is Do not stay here! JD

Debra C.

Yelp
They could update the washbasin so that you don't have separate faucets for hot and cold water. I know this is a 'historic' hotel but do you really want guests to scald themselves just for the old-timey look of separate faucets? No, you can keep the history of the place without causing undue inconvenience. They need to update!!!! And try finding a place to plug in multiple chargers for two ppl! I guess I'm more of a modern convenience type person. This hotel was not for me.

Spencer K.

Yelp
Don't stay here!! Very janky hotel, nothing seems to consistently work including elevator. Also, they let anyone in here and that means the weirdos come in all the time. Weird stuff happens here at night.
google avatar

Craig S.

Yelp
Only rating it a one because it won't allow me to go lower. We were excited to try this place because I've heard great things. Unfortunately, within 5 minutes of being there, the bartender made it clear that our party of four was an absolute inconvenience to him. I've never met such a rude restaurant employee. Needless to say, we left. It's too bad that one person can leave such a bad first impression.

Yelp
Spa stay, and our second stay....this is an old, eccentric, beautiful building....one elevator lol. This is a cool, back in time vibe place: Not a luxury hotel. BUT - we love it! It's clean, the staff are amazing, and it oozes early 1900s historic spooky shabby chic (yes, I'm struggling here lol). We also love being in the heart of Eureka Springs, so the location is perfect. Another great feature is the shuttle: park and the drivers promptly take you anywhere. Spa: kind and experienced massage therapists Marilyn and Kelsey took great care of us. Highly recommended for those wanting a great stay in an awesome setting. Almost forgot: Great bar and "speakeasy" wine cave with live entertainment!

Yelp
My wife and I always stay at the Basin the weekend before Thanksgiving. Christmas lights are up all over the city, and things are very festive. The condition and cleanliness of the rooms, hallways, and other public spaces are immaculate. The architectural detail, interior design and decor, and outdoor spaces are beautiful and relaxing. One could not ask for better customer service, whether it's from the fellows who drive the BPH shuttle vehicles to the front desk folks to the restaurant staff to housekeeping. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, quiet, and afford excellent views through large windows. Food, drink, ambiance, waitstaff, and prices make eating in the restaurant highly enjoyable. Speaking of prices, the room rates are very reasonable - particularly for the experience the hotel offers in return. One last thing: the location, central to downtown, makes shopping (and parking) super convenient. My wife and I have already made our reservation for next year. We look forward to returning in 2023!

Yelp
My father, my sister and I just spent the past three nights staying at the Basin Park Hotel. We knew its claim to fame was that it was built in 1905 so we were ready to fully embrace the fact that it was an old hotel, however, we weren't quite ready to embrace the fact that it wasn't very clean. The rooms deserve more TLC than what is given. Floors only clean or mopped in the middle. Getting the shower temp set was a huge problem. No hooks for towels, and the balcony area not swept with a pile of old leaves and old cigarette butts (an easy clean-up and would have made a difference). We enjoyed the space of our room and the beds were comfy and the waitstaff was very nice. We also appreciated the shuttle. Goodness...such a great space but truly needs some tender loving care.
google avatar

Jacque G.

Yelp
This hotel is leaning into the "historic" aspect way too hard. It's just a dump and an overpriced one at that. The rooms and common areas are damp, dingy and dark. The single elevator barely works. The parking is a half mile away so be prepared for that as well. All around hard pass!

Yelp
My trip to Eureka Springs was an adventure full of excellent restaurants, adorable little shops, and a hotel full of history. The Basin Park Hotel though a tad bit expensive, provided the perfect location right in the middle of downtown Eureka Springs. Although parking wasn't a breeze, I don't blame the hotel for this. They still provided us the courtesy of a shuttle to take us where we needed to go. I requested a room with two queen beds and a jacuzzi tub. My co-worker, a good friend, accompanied me on this trip, and the hotel provided us with the perfect room. The hotel's top floor had a little country restaurant with a unique ambiance. I felt welcomed the moment we walked in. Even though I got my order to go, I still had the privilege of meeting lovely people while I waited for my food. Next door to the restaurant was a bar that still had the original western doors from 1905. The bar told several stories, from the pictures on the wall to the outdated flooring. The hotel was ancient and did its best to keep the historical landmark alive. Upon the other reviews I read, I was shocked to see others didn't take away the same experience as we did from staying at the Basin Park hotel. Many people look at things differently. Some hated the old look and feel of the hotel and suggested it needed a remodel, but I think it all adds to the originality of the building. The Basin Park hotel took the place of the Perry House, initially built in 1881 but destroyed under awful circumstances. It holds so many memories and even more escapades. If one can see past the obsolete decor and creaky walls, it can indeed be a remarkable experience.

Yelp
This was on my bucket list. I'm so glad I had to chance to stay here! I had a Groupon, so my cousin and I stayed here for a night on our latest trip. We stayed in a double room on an upper floor. Our room was small, was due to the fact it was based on 1905 standards, that wasn't surprising. The sink was in the bedroom! That was an interesting feature. Our shower was huge and very modern. It was a rainforest shower and the water pressure was great! The beds were very comfortable and the room got very dark. The hot tub on the second deck was a little high to climb into and gets very hot, so if heat bothers you, I'd stay away. The location can't be beat. It's next to Basin Park on Spring Street. The only caveat is that you have to park a mile away and call for a shuttle to pick you up. The hotel also has a great restaurant, The Balcony Bar which overlooks downtown Eureka Springs. The food is great and inexpensive. If you want to stay in the middle of downtown Eureka Springs and get a bit of the history of the town, stay at The Basin Hotel & Spa. You won't regret it.

Yelp
While it is overpriced, it does hold historical value. If you are looking for comfort, privacy or value quiet time while you sleep, I would not recommend but if you are looking for something old and pretty this is the place. It is very loud, walls are very thin. It definitely needs updates. Paint peeling in the jacuzzi in the suite, furniture dinged up, couch extremely dirty. Shower head is placed at about 5 ft tall. Would be a super easy fix to put a different shower head that reaches higher. The shuttle was dirty and full of dog hair. The hot tub outside was super nice. The bar had good food and drinks. Staff was extremely friendly. Great location.

Yelp
The food was great and the atmosphere! The man in the foyer lobby was awesome and we enjoyed our lunch! Shawn was sweet, friendly, fun and so wonderful!! We will return because of Shawn!!

Yelp
A little pricey, but the location made it worth it. Staff was very friendly. Wish it had a pool on-site, but does have a hot tub. It was 100 degrees our first day there, so a pool would have been nice. You do get access to the pool at the Crescent Hotel, but not very convenient. Dog friendly is a plus.

Yelp
4.5 stara Great burger ever, get the $19 Burger. I added grilled onions, avocado and bacon. The fries are okay. Get the onion rings, and the chiptole sauce and ranch. They have a great balcony and coffee beer on tap.

Yelp
The Grand Basin has a great location and staff to match but the rooms are tiny unkept and dirty. Unfortunately we experienced an infestation of carpenter ants. I mean everywhere. Fortunately when I called at 9 p.m. to be moved they only had room at their sister property the Crescent. Their response was professional and empathetic. They moved us within the hour and compensated us appropriately for our trouble. They made a tuff situation the best it could be. Excellent caring staff who is managing century old properties to the best of their abilities. If you are considering either property I would lean toward the Crescent, it is updated and is blessed with larger rooms, elegant architecture and many amenities. The Grand Basin has an excellent location just needs too many updates to be homey or justify the 200$/night cost.

Yelp
My husband and I have traveled all over the world and have stayed in a variety of different properties. The Basin Park Hotel sorely disappointed us. They completely overcharge so there is little value for the cost. Our room was a premium king but didn't have a desk/writing table or closet. The AC worked great but was very very loud. Our room had a high ceiling with big windows but a terrible view. The doors have multiple locks on them but only a couple actually work. The door had a huge gap at the bottom letting all the cool air out and hallway noise in. The bathroom was big and spacious, so large that it took up half the size of the room. The shower leaked into the rest of the bathroom. Breakfast was a joke and really sub par. On the breakfast coupon there is an over top statement about gratuity. Now let me tell you, you have to go into a separate room, like an old ball room to fetch the breakfast yourself. It's very standard breads, fruit and custom made eggs cooked over a propane table top with lots and lots of oil. Then you take it to another room across the hall or outside. It's a shame they would try this tactic on guests in order to subsidize their hard-working and very very likely underpaid staff. Why should I tip? What do they do? It's a pity they try these Walmart like tactics and suggest guests tip their staff. The staff could care less. They could not be bothered to say hello or goodnight as we came back from a wedding. Parking is also absolutely ridiculous. You have to park down the hill and take a shuttle up. It wouldn't be a problem if getting their shuttle wasn't such a nightmare. Parking is free but you have to depend on a shuttle or walk up hill to get to the property. Why not offer valet? Then, your staff could just make life easier for the guests and then they would earn some gratuity!!! Overall, with so many options in this lovely town, you should really consider elsewhere. This property tries to play itself off as historic and rustic, but in reality it's tired, old and out dated. Unlike the rest of the town, there is nothing charming about this hotel. The hotel lacks polish in every way, from the staff, to check in, to the rooms. Below is a pic of the staff on their phone, not bothering to look up when we walked in at night.

Yelp
Our stay was exceptional! We were able to find all of the accommodations wonderful. My favorite part was being able to get around the town without using our car. After we parked it in the designated parking lot, we walked or took the trolley to all the places we went to. It was great to have everything close by. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Someone prepared our omelets to our liking which was such a treat. I gotta admit I had one too many cups of coffee because it was amazing. We look forward to returning to the Basin Park Hotel!

Yelp
When I booked two rooms I told reservations that I recently had bilateral knee surgery and needed handicap parking. Later I was sent email stating that parking was offsite and that we needed to check in, unload luggage, get parking pass. When we checked in the two spots they have for unloading we're being used. So that meant dragging luggage uphill 100 yards, lifting onto street from high sidewalk. There was no one in sight to help even open door to hotel. They put two people in a small room with one chair and the single person in a huge room. Both rooms were the same price. There is no place to hang up or store clothes or even a luggage stand to place your suitcase on. Considering how difficult it is to carry your luggage into the hotel you would think that they would at least have a water bottle in the room upon arrival.

Yelp
It is an old hotel and I understand that. The bath tub was stopped up. The handles on the sink came off in our hands. The bath tub didn't have a mat in it. I slipped and fell in the tub. When I asked (4 times) for a mat they said none of the rooms had them. They suggested putting a towel in the tub. They closed the balcony at 9pm for smokers. The hotel automatically will charge an extra 18% gratuity fee to your bill for everything. I feel a gratuity is my choice and not to be charged. In all fairness they did comp me one night. Not going back because it just wasn't worth it.

Yelp
The hotel is neat because it's old but that's about it. The room was very small, you could hear every movement from the hallway and room above you. So forget about sleeping in....and the breakfast was NOT GOOD. We had stayed at the Crescent before and the breakfast that you paid for with your room was amazing. The breakfast here was Nothing like it...food was just ok. Dishes were dirty and the service was not great. The bathroom in the room had dirty floors where grout was all gone. Overall I just would not recommend for the price. Seems like you pay $200 just because it's old.

Yelp
Little balcony restaurant is the best of this hotel. Grab a little live music and note the food is basically bar food. On a nice day, the breeze is good and the beer is cold. Other than that, it's sadly just an old hotel (water dripping from the ceiling in the lobby-and had been for some time based on the discoloration) with its best days long ago.

Yelp
Thus far I am very underwhelmed with this hotel. I love the quaint feel of the building however after a seven hour drive we were directed to the hotel parking share we waited 40 minutes for the shuttle. It was evening and being tired we decided we would eat at the hotel. Our appetizer frozen onion rings tasted as if they had been cooked in very old oil. We had cocktails before our meal which were amazing However when our food finally arrived, fish n chips and steak for the husband, the hushpuppies were over cooked and the fries cold. My husband said his steak was ok comparable to a Ryans I Or Western Sizzling. We were never offered drink refills. My husband did not receive the tea he had ordered with his meal. After finishing our meal we were forced to ask another employee for our ticket. We did not see our server until she brought out check. (Another server brought our food) So starts day two of our stay, fingers crossed.

Yelp
Right in the middle of all the action! The location is great. You do have to park down the road but they have a nice spot and shuttle service which is amazing. It is dated like everything else around the area. But still very nice and worth checking out. I did not like how they tell you a price then add "up charge". I did like that they would show you the rooms before you book it. If you have the money to spend it is the place to stay in my opinion. I will be staying here anytime I come back.

Yelp
We came here for an overnight stay and had the best time! The hotel is old and it has all of the charming (or annoying) things an old hotel has. When we checked in, the front desk workers were very nice and helpful. I loved that our keys for our room were actual, physical keys and not cards. The room we had was right across from the elevator but not too noisy on our floor. The most noise came from the occupants above us. They must have been pacers...but when they settled in it was pretty quiet (again, for an old creaky hotel). The room we were in was very spacious and the bed was pretty good. I don't often sleep really well in hotels but I found the bed comfortable enough to sleep decently. The bathroom was tiny. Like, there was not a lot of space between the sink and the wall but it was clean and worked appropriately. The front desk worker gave us a coupon that allowed us to go on a walking tour for free and to have an hour of pool on the hotel for their upstairs billiards space. We didn't do the walking tour but we took advantage of the pool time. We had a lot of fun drinking cocktails, shooting pool and talking to the bartender up there. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I know that location is everything and this hotel is in the middle of the town and has great access to shopping and restaurants. The hotel, however, was a disaster. The room we stayed in had paint peeling off the walls, the bathroom was in need of a much needed make over. The walls are paper thin. We could hear conversations of other guests, dog barking and honeymooners. The off-site parking was a disaster. We waited 40+ minutes for a shuttle to take us to the hotel-after 3 phone calls-a van finally showed up. Don't even get me started on the on-site restaurant, terrible service, the food was cold and during a pandemic do you really want to have your food leave the table and be heated up? I do not recommend this hotel.
