We had such an enjoyable honeymoon stay at Basse Provence in September! The property is so quaint and charming, surrounded by absolutely stunning scenery. We were warmly greeted with a welcome glass of wine, which was such a lovely way to start our stay. We also loved that two wine tastings at Rickety Bridge were included—it was such a fun perk and a great way to experience the local wines.
The guest house had just been recently revamped, and it looked so beautiful. Our room (the Manor 1 Luxury Double) was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious, though service was a bit on the slower side—but the food definitely made up for it!
The only downside for us was the noise level in our room. Because of the thatched roof, there wasn’t much insulation, so we could hear everything from birds and dogs in the valley to nearby cars. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper—we’d definitely stay again, just in a different room next time.
We arrived a little early for check-in and had to wait, which was perfectly fine since we enjoyed our wine tasting in the meantime, though it would have been nice to have a golf cart option to escort guests to the tasting room. We didn’t get to use the pool since it was too cold during our visit, but it looked lovely.
Overall, Basse Provence is a beautiful property in a fantastic location—just a short Uber ride to the center of town. It’s the perfect peaceful spot for a wine country getaway, and we’d absolutely consider staying here again!
