This is a Restaurant you can't skip over if you are in the area. Amazing "Barn Chic" atmosphere - as the owners call it themselves - and super friendly personnel that also speaks French, Dutch, English and German. The menu is arranged into 3 courses which you can combine how you want. They serve changing side dishes for the whole table. All the options are meticulously thought out and amazingly delicious - so my recommendation is that everyone orders something else to get through the whole menu. Still, after you were here, not coming back is basically not an option.

Stylishly decorated in a simple natural way....a refreshing visual treat. Blissfully calm, friendly service and delicious understated food. A must! For those with young children, play areas visible from the restaurant in the gardens below.

A great place for children to play while you enjoy the company of your adult friends and family. Overall, the food I ate was good. The boeuf tartare and foie gras pate were good. The service, however, was slow, disorganized and unreliable. Perhaps with more support, it would have been easier to cater to our larger family. Still, I would come back for lunch but would be concerned about service if the restaurant was full.

Thee years ago this was a very decent place. Now the owner changed and it‘s still pricey but the quality of the food is no longer on par. Don‘t get me wrong. You still get good food but at this level of money it really needs to be decent. Therefore removing two stars here. Fotos are still from three years back.

Bassiviere is located among trees and lawns that are simply beautiful at this time of year, so dinner during the long twilight hours can be very romantic. The food's great too! Sourced locally with a menu that changes weekly, there are plenty of vegan options. Service is very good indeed because Kevin speaks fluent French, English and Dutch so he can explain the menu and wine list. Really great dining experience...

Simply amazing! Ilse is a lovely host and the gites are perfect! We had everything we could need! We stayed in apartment 3 which has great views of the valley. Especially in the evening the sunset is breathtaking! The pool is very clean and the sunloungers are comfortable. It’s nearby a lot of stunning medieval villages as well as some cities for shopping but definitely no high street tourism which we really liked. The restaurant of Bassiviere is wonderfull as well! We had a lovely dinner as well as a chill and delicous lazy lunch on sunday. We had a great stay and will definitely come back!
