The best Italian in Sydney! I’ve been to Bastardo a couple of times and it honestly never disappoints. The food is absolutely spectacular… hands down the best Italian I’ve had in Sydney. What makes it even better is the service: the staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, which takes the whole experience to another level. Can’t wait to go back!

Very delicious food and excellent customer service!! The food was so good, we ordered Humble Bread & Olive Oil, BBQ octopus, Burrata, Crab and Prawn pasta, and Tiramisu. The bread - soft inside and crispy enough outside. BBQ octopus - so so good, I love the sauce and the crispy potato. Burrata - portion was small, wish it was larger to be worth the price, the fig was soft and sweet, and the cheese was fresh. Crab pasta - I love this dish the most, I don’t know how to describe but it was good and I recommend trying this. Prawn pasta - quite underwhelming and I didn’t like the sauce, quite bland. Tiramisu - must-try dish! it is sweet at first, but you can taste all the flavors when it melts in your mouth. also, the liquor flavour was quite strong. I also recommend their house mocktail - sammy’s cinnamarg — balanced flavour and soo refreshing Staffs were really friendly and attentive, 100/10 for the service here. The only thing I didn’t like was that the portion was quite small compared to the price.

a cozy Italian restaurant that totally surprised me. The place had a minimal yet vintage vibe—think warm lighting, wooden chairs, and old-school Italian posters on the wall. I ordered their pasta, and let me tell you—it was hella good. Creamy, flavorful, and comforting in every bite. But what really hit the spot was their garlic bread—soft and buttery, not crunchy at all, and you could really taste the garlic and butter. I paired it with their meatballs, which were super tender and literally melted in my mouth. Covered in a rich tomato paste, they were saucy and satisfying—definitely my kind of comfort food. The service was great too. The server was really attentive without being too much—he checked in at the right times and made us feel welcome. If you're into chill vibes and solid Italian food, Bastardo is worth checking out.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was amazing and we had great service from Rohan who was really friendly and helpful. The eggplant parmigiana is a must try, and the ambience is spot on, quiet and well lit for a relaxed dinner. Can’t wait to go back!

we were served by karen who was extremely enthusiastic and fun to chat to, and she made the experience very enjoyable. she gave good recommendations as well, and the food was amazing. it got a bit stuffy at the end when more people arrived but the restaurant itself was very ambient. seafood prawn pasta and parmigiana reggiano was very nice, would come again

The food is outstanding, the main highlights for me was the BBQ Octopus (nduja sauce is so good), Buratta (super balanced and delicate) and the Cuttlefish Spaghetti special. The level of service from the staff was excellent, friendly and interactive. Felt well looked after at our table.

As a business owner, I am selective as to when I provide feedback, especially by way of review on Google as they are permanent and can be detrimental to businesses of all scales... the only thing I wish to be permanent is this restaurant. This was, by far, the most enjoyable meal that my family have paid for this year. Very, very nice, simple and flavoursome Italian food - plated up without the bullshit. Love !!!!

The food was average, and the service was okay, but I really hated being seated by the door. It was so uncomfortable with people constantly coming and going! I asked the waiter if we could move to a table further inside, but they rigidly insisted that the seating arrangement was fixed, even though other tables were still unoccupied. The zucchini flower and kingfish were decent, the pasta was a bit salty, and the fennel salad was fine. However, the tiramisu was really disappointing—its texture was not smooth at all, with a lumpy consistency.
