BASTENHAUS Hotel & Restaurant

Pricey, but so worth it ! The food is EXCELLENT! We had massages and felt so relaxed. The pool and outdoor area is so relaxing and charming. Great for families as well as couples. This is a small hotel, bur it is so charming and the staff is very attentive and welcoming. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Another thing that surprised us was the comfortability of the beds. Most places we’ve stayed at have horrible beds, bur the mattresses in our room here were so comfortable. The rooms aren’t huge, but it is enough room for two people and enough room to sleep in. Enjoy the outdoors at this beautiful hotel and surrounding areas.

My family and I have returned back to Bastenhaus for the second stay in two months of time - that is how much we like it there! It is a family run hotel with a wonderful restaurant. You can always find your german classics dishes, as well as elevated dishes and vegan options. The staff is kind and professional. My greetings go especially to the cleaning staff. Besides doing great job cleaning they have been very kind to the children. We are already looking forward coming back!

The location was beautiful with an amazing outdoor pool. The restaurant was also nice with good food. The room we paid for was nothing like the advertisement on their website. We paid for a Königstuhl and the room we received was very small, and the bathroom was extremely tiny. It was nothing like the luxurious description on their website. The style of the room matched the description and photos of the Ludwigsturm zimmer. When I expressed my concerns about the room, I was rudely dismissed. Recommendation: Be honest with the room advertisement on your website.

Nice place to stay. Great breakfast with outside seating and fresh squeezed orange juice. The rooms are spacious though may need an update. Dinner is ok, the fish I ordered was to dry. staff is friendly. You can rent mountain bikes in the hotel. I would not say it is a four star hotel but a good place to stay.

Friendly staff and authentic German food with local wines. We loved atmosphere. Breakfast offered plenty of choices and prepared with focus on quality. The wellness area is OK. Overall excellent value for money. We enjoyed the weekend stay and can only recommended Baskenland.

Looking for some time out in the country side? here you get excellent value for money. The restaurant gives a nice offer and plenty of choice. I enjoyed the "spargel" season. Fitness and wellness at hand. You are very close to the German wine area, aka the Weinstrasse, so good opportunities for a hike.

Visited for the third time for its beautiful location! Nice and quite hotel. Reserved a ‘kings room’ for one night. This is where it became a bit disappointing, the room smelled like it wasn’t cleaned for some time or aired. There weren’t very much guests, perhaps the time of the season. Had beers at the bar and dinner in the restaurant. As mentioned, we had terrific experiences last two visits, but this time food was disappointing. Use of adjectives isn’t their style, but I experienced my allergy this time so let the remainder for what it was. Staff offered excuses but turned out it was placed on our bill...|We have to reconsider our planned stay for Christmas.

Good eats and Radeberger Bier! Nice staff, very friendly and efficient. Wish they had a better Schnaps selection, not Schladerer. Plenty of locals distilleries they can source from and support.
