Bastide Saint-Didier, Saint-Didier, Provence, France - Explore & Book

"Did Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year in Provence’ make you dream of sultry days in the south of France, with the scent of lavender in the air and the hum of cicadas in the background? You can make this fantasy a reality with a stay at the Bastide Saint-Didier, a blissful 7-bedroom B&B set in a converted 18th-century farmhouse that will quickly become your home away from home. You're expertly hosted by the warm and welcoming Richard (baker and chef) and Jasmine (gardener extraordinaire), who created this little piece of paradise and are brimming with local knowledge - they can make restaurant recommendations and conjure up itineraries to order.Give yourself a whole week here, if you can swing it, as there’s much to do in the region, best enjoyed by embracing its relaxed spirit. Begin each morning with a glorious breakfast on the terrace in the dappled shade of grape vines, and leisurely plan activities between mouthfuls of crisp baguette and locally-grown seasonal fruit. Allow plenty of time at the property to swim in the saltwater pool, read books in the scented garden and maybe dabble in a game of boules. Then venture out on a few day trips: see the medieval village of Venasque, pick up some antiques in L’Isle sur la Sorgue, explore Avignon, go kayaking on the Sorgue river, or take in a round of golf. Highs The generous breakfast is way more special than your average hotel continental The rose- and lavender-filled garden is a highlight, especially in springtime Wonderful and generous hosts, Richard and Jasmine, who will elevate your stay to the truly memorable The sizeable and romantic rooms come with high ceilings, original beams, comfy beds, even air-conditioning and mosquito nets Charming Saint-Didier village is 10 minutes' walk from the property and boasts restaurants, bakeries and bars Lows No twin beds The child-free policy makes this B&B a no-go for families, and no pets allowed; this is a tranquil grown-up place Only one room on the ground floor, making options limited for those with mobility issues The pool area feels a bit dated and the deck chairs are close together, limiting privacy No TVs in the rooms or in the common space, which might bother some but also adds to the peaceful atmosphere of the property" - Alex Lalak

Richard and Jasmine were amazing hosts. So friendly, helpful and relaxed. Richard was very kind in explaining all of the local places of interest, which are many, and Jasmine was very welcoming and also happy to share information and events happening in the area. The breakfasts were lovely, especially Richard’s many different fruit tarts - apple, peach, fig, custard - all delicious and generously provided. The pool area is beautiful with fantastic views of Mont Ventoux. We loved our stay here and meeting Richard and Jasmine who generously made us feel at home, in their home.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Bastide Saint Didier and could not have been more pleased! Richard and Jasmine were wonderful hosts and offered excellent suggestions for activities and sites in the region. They prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning which we enjoyed in their beautiful garden. The house is gorgeous and the rooms are large and comfortable. This is exactly what we would have imagined as a perfect bed and breakfast in Provence. We definitely will be back next time we are in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I spent three nights at the Bastide Saint Didier with my fiancee and our stay was amazing from beginning to end.||The house was beautiful and the grounds were enriched with a plethora of trees and plants. ||Richard and Jasmine were incredible hosts! They have a strong understanding of the region and provided four itineraries for tourists to explore the surrounding cities and towns. Richard even took the time to explain each trip.||A delicious breakfast, made from fresh local produce, was prepared every morning. Richard is well versed with the art of the tart and Jasmine's tea was rejuvenating. Richard and Jasmine were excited to speak to every guest. They made us feel like family.||I can't wait to return.|-S&T

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good reviews never lie. What an exceptional place! It really is one of a kind. From the perfect location in the middle of the Provence to the romantic spacious rooms, the delicious breakfast in the garden filled with flowers and lavender, the swimming pool, the wine etc etc. We enjoyed every minute staying here 🪻🍷👒 But most and foremost; Jasmine and Richard. They go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, but it still feels like visiting friends 🧡. See you soon guys! We will definitely come back to enjoy another perfect getaway. Don't hesitate, just book. You won't regret it ;-).

Perfection in Provence with the sweetest hosts ☺️ The property is stunning and has been restored to perfection- a beautiful chateau surrounded by a garden of blossoming flowers. Plus a fluffy little cat keeping an eye out for safety (and cuteness). The location is the ultimate base to visit the many nearby towns, markets and attractions of Provence. Jasmine is the perfect hostess who will predict your wishes from a mile away- from suggesting thoughtful daily itineraries to bringing out fresh baguettes to accompany your afternoon picnic after you return from the market with everything but bread. The house is set up perfectly to enjoy the many local markets and vineyards as they have a guest kitchen that includes a fridge, cutting board, cups and plates. Richard makes a fabulous breakfast with crepes and eggs to pair with the fruit ( picked on property!) jams, coffee, etc provided. Provence is easy to enjoy when everything laid out flawlessly! Thank you for the perfect stay, I hope many others get to enjoy this experience.

My husband, sister, and I had such a lovely stay at Bastide Ste-Didier earlier this month. Jasmine and Richard have created a bed and breakfast that is outstanding in every way. The rooms are sizable--and the windows have screens so you don't have to worry about mosquitoes (often not the case in France), beds are comfy, plenty of hot water in the showers, delicious breakfasts all in the gorgeous countryside in the shadow of Mt. Ventoux. Richard is an excellent baker and cook, while Jasmine has nurtured a garden over their acreage filled with flowers, shrubs, and trees in which you can relax after your days of exploring the region. Plus, there's a big saltwater pool for swimming and a summer kitchen in which you can keep food so you don't always have to eat in restaurants. They know the highlights of the local area and provide both recommendations for restaurants and groceries, and are happy to book the former for guests. Both hosts are very generous, gifting us with a bottle of wine upon arrival, and honey and bread when we departed. This is truly an extraordinary place with very special people, perhaps a bit off the routes traveled by most people, but do consider making your way to them. You'll want to extend your stay, no matter how many days you book.

Yelp
The best possible B n B experience. The setting is charm itself, set alongside vineyards just outside the village. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully reflect the Provencal farmhouse roots of the building. Comfortable beds and a great bathroom. What could be nicer? The hosts are very welcoming and attentive, and provide a fresh and varied breakfast from local producers and their own garden. The swimming pool is spotless and uses modern technology to provide comfortable fun. Great value.
