Bastión Luxury Hotel

In essence, we have absolutely nothing to complain about with the hotel (apart from a toilet seat that kept falling down when you least expected it) and the staff were all exceptionally polite and friendly.||Special mention goes to Jorge at the rooftop bar who entertained us and helped us with our basic Spanish that were been learning! He really was excellent and attentive at his job so full marks!||Our breakfast was included and was very good and even sorting me out with my morning cups of tea (which are not always a given in Colombia). I can recommend the avocado & eggs on toast!||Why 4 stars and not 5? Maybe just the price we paid. We’d just have expected a tiny bit for what we’d paid (although have nothing in the area to compare it against). This said, I’d heartily recommend it as we had a great stay there and the location is perfect as it’s relatively quiet but still only a few mins walk from the busier areas. ||Well done to the Bastion hotel!

Loved everything about our stay at Bastion! Service was on point: staff were kind, friendly, and quick to help with any request. Rooms were spacious, decorated with quality furniture, comfortable beds, and air was COLD! We were visiting with a large group with several staying at various other hotels. Our hotel was the only one with cold ac in the rooms:). Food was delicious with generous portions. The hotel common areas were stylish and rooftop pool was nice with lovely city views. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Cartagena!

I had an amazing time at this hotel! The room was fantastic — incredibly spacious with a stunning terrace that made the stay feel extra special. The entire hotel was spotless, and the staff were so kind and welcoming throughout our visit. The rooftop pool area was beautiful and a perfect place to relax. The location couldn’t have been better — walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, and attractions. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

From the moment we walked through the doors of Bastión Luxury Hotel, we were treated with such warmth and kindness that it felt like coming home. Every single person we encountered from the bellboys, reception, and restaurant staff to room service went above and beyond to make our stay special. What meant the most to me was how much love and care they showed my wife and my son. They weren’t just welcoming us as guests, they made us feel like family. Whether it was a friendly smile, remembering little details, or simply making sure we were always comfortable, their attention and thoughtfulness touched us deeply. Cartagena is beautiful on its own, but the people at Bastión Luxury Hotel are what truly made our trip unforgettable. We left with full hearts, grateful for the memories we made and the kindness we experienced. This is not just a hotel it’s a place where you feel seen, cared for, and truly at home.

No complaints!! Excellent location, great service and stunning hotel. Immediately after checking in was greeted at my room with wine and coconut ice pops for the kids, pool upstairs was a great setting and vibe. Breakfast was delicious and the service was great. The room was decorated nicely and the ac worked well! Perfect for our needs!

What a beautiful luxury hotel! We stayed here on our last night in Colombia and was perfect place to unwind. We loved lounging by rooftop pool and enjoyed delicious lunch and apps on rooftop restaurant. Also enjoyed wonderful breakfast. Very quiet room with comfortable bed. We initially had an issue with AC but they promptly changed our room. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!

An unforgettable experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. Héctor and Hania were incredibly kind and helpful—always attentive and making us feel right at home. I also had a massage with Sandra, and it was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had—so professional and relaxing! The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spotless, and the overall cleanliness and kindness of the entire staff truly stood out. We 100% recommend this place and can’t wait to come back next year. Room: Spacious rooms - standard twin, 2 double beds. Had a separate shower and toilet area. Lovely Colombian brand toiletries. Beds were firm. Some furniture looked worn out and had stains. AC worked great, however the built in AC unit had a light on in the ceiling to indicate it was on which made it almost too bright at night. WiFi Internet: worked great, no issues. Amenities: upper Deck pool area was great to lounge and have a drink and bite. Breakfast: a nice buffet spread. All kinds of juices, fruits. You can also a la carte as well. Service good. Front Desk/service: they do not keep the front door open at night for security reasons. Had friends coming back not knowing if there was a doorbell at night because it gets pretty dark along that street. Cleaning ladies/service guys were always pleasant. Generally a quiet area with only a few blocks to all the action - bars, restaurants, shopping. Wouldn't necessarily call this "luxury" hotel but rather a solid 4 star hotel.
