It's an old and historical brothel, which was very famous during the 20's. The place was later set on fire, and was completely restored. Today it is a memorial place that tells the history of the city. It is possible to see some cabarét shows, and have a guided visit to the most famous mistress of the time. It is really worth visiting.

2022 review Historic place with nice environment. Well preserved and private. I liked the old photos on the walls and the cabaré corner. Menu seems fair with some good options to pick from. A landmark in Ilhéus. Totally recommended. 2023 review Decided to have lunch here on a bank holiday. Ordered the filet mignon that is in the menu picture (you can find mine here attached) and carne do sol with rice and cassava puree (awful). Filet mignon a little over cooked than I asked. Loved the premium drinks though!

Pleasant folksy place with surprisingly good food, quantity & quality-wise. A definite must-see.

My wife and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate our anniversary. We can’t put into words the quality of both the food and the service Bataclan delivered tonight. I ordered the filet mignon with penne with gorgonzola sauce and my wife had the sea food pasta, our entrees were excellent and perfectly cooked. My wife had a delicious Argentinean Malbec and I had the coldest tap beer you can possibly imagine. The historical site and live violinist adds even more reasons to visit this place. One of greatest experiences Ilheus has to offer.

So much history! A must place to visit in Ilheus!

I hope Bataclan survives the Corvid-19 pandemic as it is, without doubt, the best of the fun bars, restaurants, and show clubs in Ilheus. I understand Bataclan was originally a combination show club and a house of prostitution. Almost magically, it has been transformed into the highly tastefully stylish place it is today, yet retaining its earlier and much of the areas colonial roots. The live theater and music are top-notch along with its Jorge Amado oriented book collection. I also love its little shop, it's in house cachaça, of which I might say I was pleasantly overserved rather than confessing I drank too much. And then, besides cachaça and other spirits one of the best wine collections to be found. The food I had was super tasty and my service impeccable.
