Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! - it literally felt like home - everyone was so nice and the vibes were amazing - musical instruments and creative activities - group chat was fire and always heaps of awesome group activities everyday - very clean and hygienic - great location - kitchen was epic and big and plenty of things like milk, salt, oil etc. Bath itself is so cute and full of character and this hostel is the perfect place to stay to experience it

The rooms are quiet, well suited even for solo travelers. Different and sufficient places are allotted for different things. They have a separate work and entertainment space, so that you can either work or enjoy your time. There is a common area with an attached kitchen, where you can chit-chat, cook and have fun, common gatherings. The environment is too friendly, you can plan out events in the nearby place. Location-wise it is too good as most of the places are nearby at walkable distance. Overall, it is a good place for travellers at a good price. Must try

This is one of the best hostels I've experienced. The moment I arrived I felt welcomed and part of a family. The common areas are great, and they provide cooked dinners every few nights. They also suggest social activities, so it's great for solo travellers. Special shoutouts to Kanzo, Giulia and Marica, who are wonderful humans.|Pete

Rooms are basic, but this hostel really shines with its volunteers, activities, and facilties. Every day there is something going on, and it is hard to be bored. The hostel also has a great basement lounge area, great for watching movies and reading. The volunteers are amazing, and they made the experience so much fun. If you're planning on visiting Bath, plan an extra day or two to accomadate the activties and friends you'll encounter in this hostel. One of the best atmospheres I experienced on my travels.

Recently stayed here for a week and truly had a lifetime experience. I was once told that home is not a place and it is the people and there are no better words to describe this place. I say this because it truly was lively every day I was there. Activities hosted by the volunteers who look after the place every day, people from all over the world cooking wonderful food in the kitchen, located centrally in the city and two cozy areas in the vault and the common room. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay and thinking of returning here someday soon 😄🫶

This is one of the friendliest hostels I have ever stayed in. Best location, only 3 mins walk straight from the station. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. They even organize social events, such as cheese and wine nights, which allow guests to chat and share stories from around the world. Staying here made me feel like I was back in a university dorm. Additionally, they offer free towel and hair dryer (for borrow). Also free tasty Float oatmilk, which I really liked. The bathrooms and toilets were clean and well-maintained during my stay, which I really appreciated.

Best hostel I have ever stayed in. It has an amazing and social atmosphere, and the whole hostel has a very cozy feeling to it. Plenty of books you can borrow, fully equipped kitchen, amazing location. They also organise events daily so there's always something to do if you feel like socialising. If you're visiting Bath, definitely come here!:)

Bath Backpackers is a great hostel located in the heart of Bath, making it easy to access all of the iconic sightseeing activities. The hostel has a very warm and welcoming environment, helped by the wonderful staff and volunteers who run it. If you are looking for a place to stay while solo travelling, I would highly recommend it. I met some great people within my two days there.

Yelp
Absolutely a classic youth hostel: bright colors and weird things painted on every wall. Good sized dorms with fully adequate rickety old beds. Great location - easy walking distance of every kind of trouble you want to get into in Bath. Very helpful and personable staff. 24 hour entry via code. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. (I'd also go back to Bath in a heartbeat.)

Yelp
Stay far, far away! On first view Bath Backpackers seemed like such a fun and eccentric hostel. The website was full of photos of everyone dressed up in costumes and socializing in the "party dungeon" downstairs. My friend and I were looking forward to staying two nights while exploring Bath by day. We checked in at 9:30 p.m. and then left to get dinner and explore. When we came back at 12:30 a.m. we saw that out of our FOUR person room, THREE of our beds were already taken! How in the world?! Did they double book the bed?! We had to get the manager who apologized and they assigned us another bunk bed in a different room. We felt like giant jackasses coming and settling in at 1 in the morning in a room filled with six other people. We were given a pound each to make up for it. O_o While our bedmates were very quiet sleepers, there was a nightclub below us and people in the streets were shouting to each other *all* night long. It was nearly impossible to get any sleep. Late the next evening, we saw a couple from New Zealand try to settle in and they noticed that they TOO had their bed given away to someone else that night! Rather than talking to the manager, they just shared the twin sized bed instead. It was a rather miserable experience and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. PROS: The Hostel had hot water for showers. Breakfast wasn't bad, if very basic. The walls are very brightly colored. The kitchen is rather large and good if you want to cook your own dinners. The location is very close to the heart of Bath. CONS: The entire staff looked like they hated their life. The nightclub down below is too loud to get any sleep. The mattresses are rock hard. And apparently Bath Backpackers has a habit of double booking the beds. And I never saw one person ever in the "Party Dungeon".

Yelp
I'm going to stay 1 night at this hostel in mid-June but I'm writing about my bad experience with my booking with this hostel via Booking.com. A month ago, I booked 2 nights at Bath Backpackers Hostel through Booking.com because of its "Free cancellation" and "Don't worry -- pressing this button ("Reserve") won't charge you anything!" advertisement. Later on, my travel plan has changed, so I had to change the date and can only stay 1 night; that's why I had to cancel my first booking and make the 2nd one for just 1 night instead of just changing the date of travel in my 1st booking. Well, on the same days of my bookings, the hostel immediately took payment of 1 night for each reservation on my credit card. Since Booking.com mentioned that the hostel might take a "prepayment" and that there is a "Free Cancellation" until 3 days before my arrival, which is my case, I thought that I would get a refund for the cancelled reservation. However, when I wrote to Booking.com, all they did was to refer me to Bath Backpackers Hostel, and the only answer I got from the hostel was that they don't refund the "deposit", which is the first day of any reservation regardless of your stay. This non-refundable "deposit" or "prepayment" was not clearly stated on booking.com at the time I made the booking and now nobody wants to take responsibility. I ended up paying 2 nights for my 1 night in Bath in mid-June because of this hostel's payment policy. From now on, I'll think twice every time I see "Free cancellation" and I just hope that other tourists won't fall into the trap of "Free cancellation" and Bath Backpackers Hostel's "prepayment" policy.

Yelp
Perfectly located (although in retrospect this probably isn't hard to accomplish in Bath) for anything. Good rates, decent rooms and a lively atmosphere. If I were to return to Bath (and it's an awesome enough place I might) I'd stay here again without a second thought.
