Batik Costa Rica

We are a family of five and have traveled extensively including other surf towns in CR. Batik is a real gem and checks all the boxes. The service thanks to Sammy, the property manager could not be better! Any request was met with a smile and fixed or addressed within minutes! It was truly remarkable and helped to make our vacation so relaxing and easy! The house was immaculate, well stocked and the housekeeping team was excellent, and professional. The property itself is kept beautifully, very safe and quiet and in the ideal location if you are carrying a board down to the beach and want to be in a quiet, laid back part of town. We plan to return and look forward to it!

Our stay at Batik was incredible. The compound of villas was created with such attention to detail; Craftsmanship, privacy, immersion into nature. This oasis is just steps from the best beach, playa hermosa. Sammy and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We’ll be back for sure

We stayed at Batik in December 2024. We had stayed in Santa Teresa for a few holidays previously, but felt that it had become too busy, so we opted for Playa Hermosa. It’s a magical place and Batik is superb. For a surfer it’s incredible as you can walk from your beautiful villa to amazing waves through a magical jungle. We had great communication from Sonia who arranged the booking, and she handed over to Sammy just before we arrived. Sammy was in contact with all the details and kindly offered to do grocery shopping before we arrived. We arrived quite late but he was waiting for us with a big smile and a warm welcome. Batik was easy to find. The villas at Batik are all beautiful and luxurious while still being rustic and tropical in style. The lush gardens provide privacy between the villas and all the rooms and areas are very spacious. We stayed in Casa Ama which I think is the nicest villa. It has an amazing swimming pool and is very close to playa hermosa, plus we had our own parking space. It’s a large villa that can accommodate 3 couples. The style is very cool with lots of beautiful wood and bright colours. It was well equipped and very spacious for our family of 4. Batik as a whole is extremely well run and managed by Sammy, nothing was too much trouble and he added massive value to our stay by recommending things to do and places to eat, and booking for us. He popped in daily to check that we were happy. He booked horse riding and zip lining for us and many restaurants. The cleaning staff were efficient and cleaned in a team to minimise disturbance. The villa is literally on the edge of a pristine jungle which meets the sea at playa hermosa which is aptly named as it is a stunning beach which is a short walk from the villa. Also around the corner is a great coffee shop Mantaraya, and there’s a small supermarket also in walking distance. So one need never leave Batik. Many restaurants in Santa Teresa deliver to Batik. Overall - highly recommended- we were heartbroken to leave and we will definitely be back. I just hope that playa hermosa stays exactly as it is forever. Batik is a gem! Perfect location, perfect waves, friends and nature. I discovered this place few years ago and every time I go back is better. Sammy is one of the nicest people I met I the world. I highly recommend it.

We have been staying at Batik for many years and keep coming back because of the quiet but convenient location, ocean access, gorgeous villas and amazing team. If you’re traveling with friends or family, do not hesitate to book your stay at Batik - you won’t regret it!

Been staying here for 10+ years and find it perfect in every way - daily cleaning, laundry, pool cleaning, etc. Takes 50% of the details out of a trip and the location is great! Sammy, the manager, also literally saved my 2 year olds life after he jumped in the pool

Batik is one of the most serene, beautiful places to stay on Playa Hermosa near busy Santa Teresa! Every detail of the property is cared for and maintained. The casita was well stocked, very comfortable with good screens on the windows and doors. The property is very quiet with a relaxing space to lie in the hammock in the shade. We attended a wonderful yoga class taught by Nancy on the beautiful shaded yoga deck. The staff was exceptional. We love to cook and were able to use the wood burning grill in the evening. The beach is a 5 minute walk. You do need a car to get into the main part of town.

Batik is a dream come true! It is perfectly maintained and clean, its staff always helpful and cheerful. We feel like home, it's amazing.||Both owner and concierge are very kind to us, just like old friends from the first sight! The beach is so close - just a few steps away - that you can smell the salty air and listen to the ocean waves. And my husband can surf everyday! We love this place! Our Villa is so cozy, well furnished and with a lot of privacy. Large sunny deck and pool, fully equipped kitchen and many other leisure facilities :) ||The big bed is very comfortable and with several pillows, every night we have our best sleep, rocked by the sounds of Nature. ||We highly recommend this property. We hope to come back next year, meanwhile, we enjoy this marvellous experience. ||Viviana and Emanuele :=)
