"Boston 's Battery Wharf joined the Leading Hotels of the World collection in 2015. The wharf itself dates back to the 1600s, when it served as a gun battery positioned to defend the Colonists against water attacks; history buffs can learn more at the hotel’s own Maritime Museum. Today the waterfront hotel offers 150 classically styled rooms, with European linens and high-tech amenities; many also feature incomparable views of the Boston Harbor. Arestaurant serving classic New England fare with a twistand a harbor-facing terrace featuring fire pits in the winter and traditional lobster bakes come summer mean you never have to leave the hotel, but some of the city’s most bustling shopping and dining districts are just a stroll away."

I booked a 2 night stay here earlier in the month for a two queen premier water view. While traveling to get there, I got caught in snow the day of my check in and wouldn't safely be able to make it. I called the hotel and asked if I could modify my reservation to cancel one of the days. They said it was too late and that I would still be charged for the entire two days. I was fine with that since they were correct on that. The reservation person asked me when I would be there the next day and I said it would be in the evening. When I arrived the next day, my expectation was that I was going to get my room I paid for. Instead they put me and my family on the second floor, right above the sliding doors that shook the room when they opened. In addition to this, the room only had 1 king bed and no water view. I went to the front desk to ask why I was not given my room I paid for and they apologized and offered to get me a rolling bed and move me to another room with just one king bed and a water view. The workers at the front desk were still polite and tried their best to help me, but there were no more rooms that had 2 queens. They did only charge me for the one night in the end, but I feel like this was handled poorly in that I held up my end of the bargain and was going to pay for the 2 nights with no fuss, only to be disappointed that I did not get the room I paid for. Again, the staff were great and tried to do their best. I just think they double sold my room and couldn't accurately explain the rationale behind why I was not getting it when I arrived.

This hotel is situated right know the bay in the north end. Only about 1/2 a mile from the freedom trail and many sites to see in Boston. Its super walkable and seemed like a safe area. The service was excellent. The room was clean. The shower was lovely. Our only complaint was the lack of bedside lamps but that's a small complaint. Overall it was a great stay.

Battery Wharf was not what I expected. When you view the hotel from the pictures you expect that your gonna get a good view of the water or even of the surrounding area. We asked for a room on a higher floor when we got there. The guy at the counter said that's not gonna be possible. We got the first floor. The guy did not seem to be happy and it was a bad start. The rest of the staff was great though. Our room was over looking the docks. But you could not really see anything because there were bushes blocking our view of anything. I would cut those bushes down so the guests could see out th windows. Overall other then that the rooms were decent. Liked the location as it was closed to most of the things we wanted to go to and see. All within short walking distance.

I have not received my $100 deposit fee back in my card yet and its been more than 7 days. I was told by the front desk everything is good and i will receive the refund within 7 days. I hope this is not a scam. I have emailed and did not receive any response. I just saw reviews of deposit fee not being returned. I will delete this 1 star review when i get my refund back

Such a high end experience start to finish. As a middle class family treating ourselves we did not feel out of place. Staff at check in, valet, In house restaurant were naturally polite and great to do business with. The value was exceptional. The room with all the bells and whistles was clean and efficient. Beds were so comfortable. We never sleep well in hotels but this was a notable exception. High quality that given the opportunity we’d surely come again…

The hotel has a great staff. Our room had issues and when addressed at checkout we were offered a slight compensation. We probably should have voiced our concerns earlier, but it was a short stay. I think the manager should have come out personally to address our issues. Otherwise the hotel has a beautiful lobby and the restaurant had a wonderful breakfast. We should have requested a better room after we found issues. Live and learn as they say!

The hotel is in the perfect location if you are looking to be in walking distance of restaurants, bars, site seeing. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful. When we arrived (early) our room was ready but the other room wasn't. We were told they would put the room on priority which turn out to be a joke. Both rooms were on the 2nd floor, we had a somewhat view of the harbor. We had a king size bed which was comfortable and requested extra pillows as well as extra towels. The room has a coffee maker and water is supplied but no refrigerator. The closet doors located when you walk into the room can also be accessed via the bathroom. The room was a decent size, clean, but did need some updating. The shower had a rain head plus hand held, the pressure was decent. Our bathroom sink the water accumulated and emptied very slow, but we dealt with it. We had breakfast at the hotel which had a good menu and the staff was wonderful. We found the breakfasts plentiful and we were not rushed. There are a few buildings one which has a spa. A nice walkway to view the harbor and a gym. This hotel is in a nice location, everything is within walking distance, but if you need a ride, the front desk is very accomodating. We didn't feel the cost was expensive, middle of the road depending upon the room. Would recommend if you are looking for a centrally located hotel that has many amenties.

I stayed at the Battery Wharf Hotel from August 21 to 23, 2025, and had an extremely disappointing experience at the front desk. I was denied check-in because my name was allegedly not in their system, despite my friend having already emailed their manager to include me as a guest. The manager later offered a poor excuse, claiming the email needed to explicitly state that I was to be “checked in as a guest,” even though the intent of the request was clear and had been acknowledged. I would have understood if this had been an honest mistake followed by an effort to rectify it, but instead, the staff attempted to shift the blame onto me. No assistance was offered, and their manner throughout was unhelpful and discourteous. The manager's colleague on duty that day was particularly rude, never addressing me by name and referring to me only as “excuse me,” which fell far below acceptable service standards. For a four-star hotel at this price point, such hospitality is completely unacceptable. Even basic courtesy would dictate addressing a guest by their name, yet I was not even given that. There was also a lack of eye contact throughout the interaction, which only added to the unwelcoming atmosphere. This was particularly disappointing given that the hotel was not busy that day, so there was no reason for such inattentive and dismissive service. Later on, I was not even offered any assistance by the concierge to hold my luggage while I waited for the room to be cleaned and for check-in to be completed. This was after I had to trouble my friend to send yet another email to the hotel to confirm my stay. Compliments to the bellboy who eventually assisted me with my luggage. He was courteous, helpful, and pleasantly chatty, which was a refreshing contrast to the earlier poor service. Overall, while the rooms were comfortable, the bellboy was pleasant and helpful, and the checkout staff (on the last day) were attentive and polite, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again or recommend to my family and friends. For its price point, I believe much better service can be found elsewhere.

Yelp
Our recent stay at Battery Wharf Hotel was a true highlight of our summer travels. We booked a Premier Waterview Guestroom, and it absolutely delivered--a stunning, unobstructed view of Boston Harbor that made waking up (and winding down) feel like something out of a movie. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and immaculate. Location-wise, it's perfectly situated--right on the waterfront and walkable to Boston's historic North End, also known as Little Italy. We took full advantage of the proximity to charming streets, cafés, and incredible food (with plenty of options for those of us who are gluten-sensitive!). The hotel itself is fairly expansive with multiple connected buildings, but we discovered a convenient indoor walkway that made navigating between areas easy--even during some less-than-ideal weather. A great touch. We only had drinks and small bites at the hotel's restaurant, mostly due to limited gluten-free options, but what we did try was excellent. The cocktails were top-notch and the ambiance was relaxed with a refined touch. Special shoutout to the friendly and professional staff--every interaction felt warm and welcoming. From check-in to valet service, everything was handled smoothly and with a smile. If you're looking for a comfortable, scenic, and conveniently located stay in Boston with upscale vibes and easy access to the best of the city, I highly recommend Battery Wharf Hotel. We'd absolutely return!

Yelp
I would NOT recommend staying here. I want to be clear I am with a group of 25 people. Several of the people had the same issues I listed below. It was just a one person issue. Pros: - The place is clean. I will give it that. - View of the water. Cons: -Air Conditioning does not work in the rooms. It just runs (loud) but no cold air. The thermostat is set at 65 I can't get the temp below 75 - No refrigerator in the rooms. There is a place for it but nothing there. - Only a couple outlets in the room. With technology and needing to charge devices nowadays. You need more outlets. - No market area to buy a snack or beverage. You need to order room service. - Internet is included but does work. - We ate dinner at the restaurant. Several of us (at least 7) ordered the steak. The most expensive meal on the menu. Everyone's steak was majority fat. It was such a poor cut of meat. You will get a better steak at Applebees. - Also the food didn't come out even close together. I get we have a large group. Some peoples food didn't come out until others were done eating. That was after we waited a while to start because we didn't want to start eating until everyone got their food but it took so long. Other than us there was only one couple in the restaurant. It was Not busy. - The service from the staff is sub par. No explanation of the multi building layout. Im sorry but I highly recommend avoiding staying at this hotel. You can use some updates.

Yelp
I stayed at the Battery Wharf Hotel on the Boston waterfront for a work event. It's conveniently located near the airport. I landed at midnight and was in bed by 12:45am! The 24/7 front desk staffing was helpful for late arrivals. The hotel consists of multiple buildings, and I was fortunate to have a room in the main one (Building Three). The rooms do not come with refrigerators or microwaves. I had emailed ahead to request a fridge, but upon arrival, I was told I needed to give more notice since they have to physically move it into the room--an inconvenience I hadn't anticipated. The room itself was pretty standard (I would not consider it luxurious like advertised on their website), but it did include robes (they felt like a rough towel). The walls were thin, and I could hear my neighbors talking. The lobby features a restaurant that serves breakfast, dinner, and drinks, while lunch is available only via room service (with a $10 delivery fee). It was a convenient spot for colleagues to gather and network.

Yelp
Beautiful Hotel , great location . I just wish the room had a mini fridge and the pillows needed a little More to them. I could not sleep and all of the pillows were the same that just go flat. Would recommend staying. I've stayed here twice and loved each time besides the sleep part. Have stayed in many hotels in Boston and this one is one of my favorite

Yelp
Save your money and same sex couples don't even waste your time. We came to the Battery Wharf for our honeymoon. My wife was adamant this was the location, truthfully you're paying for the location. The best part of this stay was a little over a block away at little Italy! The second best was the coffee shop. From the moment we hit the front desk we had a horrible interaction with the front desk employee. This female, called me a man, mind you I very much look like a woman. This employee accused my wife of giving dirty looks. We just got off a red eye from California with no sleep. Please save this behavior for later, check us in so we can sleep. I'm not one to leave negative comments or reviews, we felt it was important to capture the interaction. We made the decision to come to Massachusetts because of the acceptance of same sex couples. We decided on Boston because it's beautiful and we both love the Boston Bruins. It, breaks my heart that this interaction tainted it for both of us. On our departure date our flight was delayed, we went to check out and the same employee was working. We again had a horrible interaction with her. She asked why we came from a different building than she assigned, I explained we were upgraded because it's our honeymoon. She seemed annoyed and asked if we threw a party in there. Then started again on my wife accusing her of dirty looks. I realized the impact the last interaction made on us when, our flight was canceled and we decided to stay at a different hotel for the night. I had hoped after our first interaction with her it was just a one off. We all have our days and we were exhausted. Things happen, we get that. That wasn't the case. Considering we spent over $4k for a week stay I would say we over spent. No fridge in the room. No microwave. They get annoyed if you ask for more coffee pods. In our Jr suite the paint was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. The air struggled to work. Thankfully it was cool so we turned it off and opened windows. I guess luxury to them is slippers and a nasty bathrobe. Stick with Hilton

Yelp
Everyone here was so nice, the rooms are beautiful. It's in a great spot and they have valet. The restaurants on the property, and the room has all the amenities you need.

Yelp
Well -I grew up a ten minute walk from here . And lived in the neighborhood for 50 plus years before moving to Florida . This company bought out the old Bay State Lobster complex back in the 80's for something like $50 million . Bay State was great ! The freshest seafood retail place . There was Fleet Fruit too, and a Dunkin ', a tobacconist, etc . We are coming up for a wedding . Thought we'd stay in the old neighborhood . Once I started delving into reviews - not just Yelp but all over such as trip advisor , etc - it became apparent that even basic amenities- in a supposed 'luxury (ahem )' hotel - such as a mini (read: $57.00 at Walmart ) fridge or that wild new invention a microwave , etc etc are not there. What's that they say ? Fridges are on a first come first served basis?!? Have we entered the Bizzaro World here ? Are these people insane ? We booked elsewhere . Yes they have a decent location . From what I can tell - there are people in the people business who don't like people - this is a prime example . Don't get played .

Yelp
This hotel is located in a very good location for an exciting night-life and great food. Within walking distance to famed Hanover Street and the Freedom Trail. The guest rooms are spacious, with cozy bedding and spacious bathrooms. Nice views of the harbor are available. Walking paths around the harbor are very nice. The biggest downside is that the rooms are not equipped with microwaves or mini-refrigerators (would have been nice for drinks). My understanding is that they are available, first come first serve. That isn't convenient however.

Yelp
From the moment I arrived, the hotel's lack of professionalism was glaring. I pulled up with my child and four suitcases--three valets stood there watching and didn't lift a finger. No help with luggage, no one opened the door. Inside, a single front desk agent was helping another guest. I waited patiently, but was finally greeted with a rushed, cold check-in. I was handed a key and told our room was across the street in a separate building--no one offered to assist or even explain. Again, we struggled alone with heavy bags. When we got to the room, the key card didn't work. Exhausted, I left our bags and returned to the desk. Now Ravi, the director of the front office, was present. He was polite and walked me back with new keys--only to find the room was already occupied. Someone else's luggage was inside. He left us standing in the hallway, again unattended, while he went to sort it out. Fifteen minutes later, he returned--the front desk had written the wrong room number on our paperwork. We were meant to be in the room next door. Nearly 45 minutes after arrival, we were finally in the right room. Ravi offered a complimentary breakfast, which was a nice gesture in theory, but turned out to be just as mismanaged. We arrived at 7:45 a.m., only to wait 45 minutes for a simple omelet--because the chef hadn't shown up for work on time. This hotel might be beautiful and well-located, but the staff was disorganized, inattentive, and frankly incompetent. I've never had such a poor arrival experience at a supposedly high-end property.

Yelp
We had a great stay. Hotel is in a perfect location for getting around the city. Lots of great dining choices within a 5 minute walk. Enjoy the water view. Rooms are a good size but bathroom doors are large and heavy to open and shut. Odd placement of light switch for bed side tables.

Yelp
DISAPPOINTED would be a positive word for this hotel. On May 3rd, 2025 at 10 PM we went back to our room after walking around and grabbing a bite to eat. Upon entering the room, it was 88 degrees and the AC was blowing hot air. We immeaditaly turned off the AC and called the front desk. I informed them that we think the AC is broke and is blowing hot air and the room was 88 degrees. The thermostat displays the current tempature of the room so that's how we knew. The first gentlemen I spoke to eventually put on the supposed night manager named "Tony". I highly doubt that was his name. I told him this was pretty unacceptable and if there was anything he could do. He said there was nothing he could do and that if we didn't like it we could check out and go somewhere else. Well that's when respect went out the window. I told him we paid 800 dollars for the 2 nights and that's not how you treat people. I asked do they have a fan or anything and he said no. I asked if he could move us to a different room and he said no because there was no availability. I immeaditaly went to their website and could have booked another room in that hotel that night, so that was a lie. After going back and forth for a few minutes I hung up and accepted the fact we are going to sleep in a sauna. We opened the windows to let it cool off but they have stops on them and it only opens like 6 inches. About 30 min later at approximately 1100 PM, "Tony" called and said they would be bringing a fan and some cold bottled water. We stayed up for about 2 hours waiting and nothing came. Obviously we got lied to on that. We got about an hour of sleep that night and the morning came. Went to the front desk and explained what happened. They avoided answering who this Tony was but a lady did say that she could have easily transferred us to another room if she worked that night and offered to move us rooms that day. I will also be emailing the Company that owns the hotel because it was very shocking how we got treated. Its pretty wild Paul Reveres house has freaking AC and it was built in the 1600s!!!!!! Also there's MOLD in the bathroom. Took some pics as you can see. Overall, dont stay here and go to the Marriott across the bridge.

Yelp
I am deeply disappointed in the staff at the Battery Wharf Hotel. I called to say that I made a mistake when booking 3 rooms on line. Instead of the date I wanted, it defaulted to to the date I booked and I missed that. This morning when I was going over the dates, I realized the mistake and called the hotel and after being disconnected three times, no help, only an offer to pay almost twice my rate. I will not go back. Hospitality? Nope. I am happily booked at another hotel in Boston.

Yelp
My son recently stayed at the Battery Wharf Hotel with his girlfriend for her birthday and he had his car parked in their garage by the company that the hotel uses. When they took his car, they placed it on a lift to park it. My son checked into the hotel and then realized he left his phone charger in the car. When the hotel valet walked him down to the garage, as a courtesy, my son's car was still on the lift with the engine running in REVERSE with the emergency break on and he noticed he had some things missing from his car. The hotel was very helpful and gave him the number for the company they use for parking. He spoke to "Bob" and Bob stated that "my employees don't steal and they know if they do they will be fired". He instructed my son to call in the morning because he would look at the camera footage. My son called the following morning and Bob told him that he didn't see anything on camera and there was nothing he could do. I find this very disturbing mostly because of the danger of having the car running while still on the lift in reverse but also they don't hold themselves responsible for stolen items. It's a shame that, what was supposed to be a fun evening turned into this.
