If I could give this adorable, so comfortable place 10 stars I would! Everything from the greeting when I walk in, the cute Halloween decorations, the character of the bar and space, the music, the people… just everything was so welcoming and just perfect! I was craving shrimp and grits and found Battle Street Bistro from this app- Google maps. I was hoping it would be worth a 30 minute Uber ride for my craving! O. M. G. The Shrimp and Grits were amazing! So flavorful! Perfectly grilled shrimp with a perfectly spiced sauce with red pepper, sweet corn… over the best grits I have ever had. The grits were formed in a ‘cake’ and complemented the sauce beautifully. I finished and savored every single bite. I sew some of the other dishes coming out too- beautiful French Toast, and what looked like a fluffy egg omelet. My server Aime was very friendly, welcoming, and on top of it proving great service too! I met Sara the owner and she is so sweet! She said this is her second restaurant. I totally see her being THE chef/owner of the area for a long time. The vibe and food is so good.😊

Food was very good I had the Shrimp and Grits hubby had the Salmon Benedict. Ella (Waitress) was very friendly and accommodating. Shout out to the Cam bartender for my wonderful mimosa.

I enjoyed sitting and dining on their rooftop. Great views of historic Manassas. I got the spicy chicken benedict and the lemonade/cucumber/mint drink that was amazing. Great places to grab drinks or sit and enjoy a good meal. My boyfriend said his burger was bland and could use more flavor in the meat. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.

Ella was fantastic, the food was fresh and some of the best chicken I’ve ever had! Her recommendations were spot on. 100% recommend stopping in for some awesome food!

The taste of the French toast, perfectly crispy, brought back memories of my dad’s 45 years working at an Italian bakery. The shrimp and grits initially resembled a toasted brioche underneath the shrimp, but they actually featured custom grits with nicely toasted edges. One scoop of those grits was heavenly. The restaurant's atmosphere was both trendy and rich in history. We highly recommend this place and plan to return very soon! I enjoyed every aspect of my breakfast. Thank you to Yohanna, Cam, Ella, and Anya for their excellent customer service. I truly appreciated the ambiance, the food, and the Backstreet Bistro team. I’m OB, and I approve this message. 😂

Went there for breakfast. It was fantastic. Food was amazing, seating a little tight but comfy. We shared 3 breakfast dishes, Vermont French Toast, Shrimp and Grits and Greek Eggs. Also had a fizzy cucumber mint lemonade it was excellent. Definitely going back to explore the menu. The shrimp and grits was different it was fried with the grits inside and a very tasty creole sauce which you could put on anything. The Vermont French Toast had a butter cream icing with pecans and syrup, delicious but I ate too much of it. Should have stopped sooner it’s sweet just a little caution. The Greek eggs seems simple but feta cheese with eggs really surprised how good it was and they had berry preserves with the toast which seemed homemade and fresh great combo.

Cozy, bustling with a European feel, please turn the lights to dim. Surgical bright at our table. Draft coming from the front door, a portieres would help on cold evenings. Service is attentive and friendly. Menu isn't exciting but effective, food is excellent.

I've been meaning to come and check this place out for years now and i regret it taking me so long to finally check it out. The inside is tastefully decorated. It has DC vibes right here in Manassas. the staff was very friendly and attentive. And the food was amazing . My friend and I came in for drinks and ended up getting the beignets with pesto and whipped feta spread.. Highly recommend.

Dropped in for lunch ahead of the holidays and this was a great place to try! We luckily didn't have a wait, which is so unusual for Old Town Manassas, since I'm used to First Friday crowds. We just got some lunch, so just two entrees and sodas, but their drinks sound good too. I got the fried goat cheese salad and added grilled chicken. The chicken was a bit dry, but it was a delicious salad. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas and the service was good. I would love to come back and try more of their menu.

Many of the restaurants in old town are "cozy" and battle street bistro lives up to that. The walls are done in a warm wood that felt great for the space and all the tables feel intimate. The bar area felt a little over-large for the space, but the drinks were fantastic, so maybe they deserve to have room to work their magic. Our first server was great. Gave us lots of info about the menu and the owner/chef and made us feel very welcome. From there, we had a hodge podge of people coming to our table. OK only one other person kind of acting as a server, but still a bit weird to me to suddenly have a new person taking orders. I feel like if multiple people are primarily responsible for a table it means nobody is and the service as the meal continued on definitely deteriorated. Nobody was rude -- just big gaps in service. Our food was hot and cold. Literally. I had fish and chips and the fish was delicious. Really really well done. But the fries were ice cold and limp. I ate them rather than complaining because we were basically ignored until we were almost done with our meal. My wife got a vegan stir fry and had similar experience -- very tasty but cold. If it's a stir fry it should be served the moment it comes off the wok. We ordered an appetizer, but our mains came out before the app so we had them cancel it. We shared the chocolate turtle cake (made in house) and it fit the theme of the night. The ice cream was good and counter balanced the cake well. The interior of the cake was amazing but the cake was a bit over done so the outer half was dry. Other restaurants in old town are better (to me), but we will give this place another try in the future. The ingredients are there for it to be really really good, and maybe we caught them on an off night.

Sunday brunch- group of 12. Sometimes places take a long time to fulfill large group orders however this place ran smoothly- no delays with drinks or food. Most memorable about this place is the cozy ambiance and the food- top notch. Reasonable prices for brunch items and highly highly recommend the French toast with I split with a friend (half pictured). The butter cake was nothing to brag about but we did order that to go. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely felt like an authentic French experience. Someone's poutin looked and tasted amazing (see pic). The cocktails were crafted well and absolutely would come back for brunch.

Was pleasantly surprised by how varied the brunch menu was. So many great options, including an entire vegan section. Staff was friendly and promptly greeted up and took our orders. The inside feels a little cramped (it's a small space and they do a good job with filling it as efficiently as possible) but I'm excited to see what the rooftop is like at a future visit.

I enjoyed everything there, it was small and cute. I would definitely recommend, my server was sweet and we had almost every other employee check up on us as well. We went on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too packed thankfully.

Unique food, but just not better than three stars. The Greek chicken was surprisingly dry, which is disappointing because the rest of the flavors were very yummy. The cucumber lemonade was delicious. My boyfriend would've given this about three stars, also. He had the tuna, and it was just mediocre.

Cute restaurant in Old Town Manassas with a cozy ambiance. The food and service were good. Went for lunch so it wasn't super busy. Ordered the Bleu Cheese Burger and Chicken Brie Club. The seasoned fries were good too!

We loved everthing about here! The shakshouka had just the right amount of heat and the poached eggs were perfect. The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff all seemed to be having fun which makes it feel that much more enjoyable. All in all this was cozy, quite and beautiful, this was a great little find and I'm so glad we went.

We loved everything about Battle Street Bistro! The corn fritters were fantastic - thanks to the other yelpers who recommended it as I probably wouldn't have ordered this otherwise. We tried the Suzette and Chocolate Strawberry French toast - both of which were amazing and the portions were way huge. The shakshouka had just the right amount of heat and the poached eggs were perfect. The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff all seemed to be having fun which makes it feel that much more enjoyable. We ate indoors which was cozy, quiet and cute. All in all this was a great little find and I'm so glad we went.

Very cute and cozy restaurant. Not fancy but feels very "hometown" yet mature and grown and sexy . Staff were super nice and relaxed but attentive and friendly. Great for a date night or happy hour. Food was really good and had lots of flavor. And the portions were big. Not a lot of parking, you will have to park down the block at a garage but we lucked up with a parking space right out front. Would visit again.

Battle Street has been a favorite of ours since they opened. But in recent months, not so much. Customer service has taken a dive. I had one occasion when we wanted to order dessert and a meal to take home after we finished dinner. Waitress told me the kitchen was closed for the night. I asked why they didn't ask if we wanted anything else before they closed it, she just looked at me blankly and shrugged. I've had to send food back, I've had drink orders that take so long I'm done with my meal by the time I get it. The food has also declined, in portion and quality. A recent visit with friends just confirmed this place isn't great anymore. We had to flag down one of the two waiters/waitresses that were working multiple times to order drinks, get boxes and put tab. The manager was more interested in flirty with the waiter than anything else. They all disappeared into the kitchen multiple times at the end when we were the only patrons. We seriously contemplated just walking out. We had been ready for the check for over 20 minutes. I'm super disappointed.

Great food! We ordered shrimp and grits, Shakshuka and catfish sandwiches. YUMMY! We were seated outside on the terrace and the food was hot, fresh and beautifully presented. Will definitely be back!

Food was Ok. Asked for burger to be cooked medium but it came out well done. Fries are tiny shoestring style fries and the cup was filled with 'pieces' of fries...most of the fries were 1 to 1.5" long... not easy to eat or enjoy. The atmosphere is actually nice, upstairs dining available. The server was pleasant and did a great job. Though the food was ok, the service wins me over when it comes to ratings... I say give the place a try & decide for yourself.

This is the second time we have been here. The first time was for breakfast. It was good. This time was for dinner. I was very disappointed. I ordered the Greek Chicken. The chicken was dry and the rice they served with it was bland and dry. Their service was ok and the atmosphere was non existent. We also ordered the orange cake for dessert. I could not even eat it. It was so dry and sweet. They did take it off our bill. My husband had a blue burger, which he said was very good. Not sure if I will go back here.

I stumbled across Battle Street Bistro recently during a recent visit to Old Town Manassas. I could not recall seeing the business before - so this morning I visited for the first time to check it out. It was around 10:30 am or so when I arrived. I was greeted and seated promptly. As I looked over the menu - I also was taking note of the interior of Battle Street Bistro. It's a very cozy, comfortable ambiance - with lots of dark woods with accents of brick and metal. The place felt very clean. After looking over the menu, I ordered the Quiche Lorraine - with a side of bacon - and coffee and water. The Quiche comes with a side salad - which added a nice fresh note to the meal. The salad was dressed with a tangy, lightly salty dressing - which was a nice contrast to the Quiche. The Quiche was tasty - but under-seasoned. I feel like they need to experiment a bit with adding more salt, black and white pepper, and Nutmeg to the Quiche mixture. The Men's restroom was very clean, modern, and well appointed. I asked the staff about how long Battle Street Bistro has been here - the young lady from behind the bar advised that they've been open a couple of years - which explains why I could not recall seeing it previously. It opened some time during the COVID-19 Pandemic - a time when I visited very few public places. According to the young lady - the space was previously occupied by offices. Service was excellent. I will come here again! #BattleStreetBistro

We have been here several times for dinner and brunch. The food is always good! I've tried the salads, burger, and Greek chicken pita. Everything is flavorful and ingredients are fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful!

The food was delicious. Our waitress was nice and friendly. We were seated quickly. It was a little loud and dark in here though.

We arrived at 4:30 on a Saturday night after Thanksgiving and my friend was there first. I sat down and waited a while to order a glass of wine. Apparently they were serving the staff dinner at the bar which they were very attentive to. I ended up at the bar to ask for service and they gave me a taste of their wine. Went back to my seat and was never asked what I wanted. At some point one of the bartenders flick all the lights on and kind of shocked us because they were so bright. I walked over to the light switch to see if they had dimmers and they don't. The bartender said, " is there a problem?" I said do you have dimmers bc it's so bright. She said not that's just what we have in a very rude demeaner. Ok, so we ordered our food and then the Mediterranean salad came out and my friend and I were discussing how there wasn't a lot of feta cheese if any on the salad and she over heard us and said, " Is there a problem?" I said, can I get some more Feta and they brought us more. The food here is usually pretty good but the service has never been great. The bartender was in a really bad mood and was aggressive to us in her demeaner. Once she realized we were annoyed she softened up a bit but by that time it was a little late. This restaurant is one of the most expensive and I have never had great service here despite their prices. Really you guys? get your shit together when hiring people if you're gonna charge a premium. Next time I will go to Public House next door and get a great salad as well with more pleasant service and a bit less expensive.

My partner and I recently came here for the first time to enjoy weekend brunch, and were delightfully surprised by the variety of options on the menu. It's right in old town Manassas, so there's no private lot but we found street parking nearby. The dining room was small and we quickly realized that we were very lucky to snag a table as a walk-in as this place quickly became packed by 11:00 a.m. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful and they made good recommendations for us. I ordered the Suzette French toast which was made with a really yummy homemade challah bread, orange cardamom butter, candied orange slices, and real maple syrup. It was delicious! My partner ordered the veggie crepe, and he thought it tasted really fresh. I noted they had a rooftop bar space, but we sat in the main dining room, which is centered around the bar, as it was winter time. I'd be curious to come back for drinks on the rooftop, but will definitely be returning for more yummy brunch!

Pleasantly Surprised! Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, but the biggest Wow was the food! Great selection of options. The salads were perfect. The burgers were Amazing! Cocktails were on the small side (for the price) but super tasty. But the star of the night was the French fries. You'll definitely want to order extra. Our crew couldn't get enough. Would have shared pictures but our plates didn't stand a chance. Maybe next time, and there will definitely be a next time.

Service is horrible, we ordered a salad and a fish sandwich, 30 mins later clearly they didn't make the food and send me old fries first time here and never will be back

This was such a cute last minute brunch idea for me and my boyfriend. The staff was so nice (and so pretty omg) and so kind. The food was pretty good but the ambiance trumped the food. The presentation of the food was great. I had the shrimp and grit cake . i was skeptical about the grit cake but it came out really good. It was kind of big for the amount of shrimp they give you. My boyfriend got a kids meal breakfast with eggs and bacon. Maybe we just weren't hungry but we barely touched our food. Their drinks were FIRE! We had a mimosa, a cranberry mimosa, strawberry old fashioned and a lemon and rosemary gintini. Over all the experience was so great and the shops and restaurants nearby give such a homey downtown vibe.

Food was good I had shrimp and grits. Service was okay it was a small restaurant felt a little cluttered but the food was good nonetheless.

Great addition to Old Town Manassas! Servers were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. Shrimp & Grits: Definitely the highlight of the meal. Perfectly cooked shrimp, and the flavors just went so well together. I regret not ordering this for myself! Chicken & Asparagus Crepe with side salad: Great portion size! The side salad was nice and refreshing. The flavors for the crepe were great but I would've loved to have more of the béchamel inside or on top since the chicken was a little on the dry side. Chocolate Strawberry French Toast: More than enough to share with someone. The vanilla cream was delicious, and I'm glad we ordered the chocolate sauce on the side to keep the integrity of the French toast.

Food took about 30 minutes to arrive our table so be prepared to enjoy the ambiance while you wait. The food was barely lukewarm but had some flavor. The French fries were great!! We got the steak and fries but I substituted fries instead of the croquettes. Ordered my steak medium rare and came mostly cooked to order but there were some rare to almost raw pieces. The French toast that someone else ordered looked phenomenal! She ate every bite. The brunch menu was difficult to find online. Sat on the roof top on a beautiful day with great company.

Great service and great food. We sat on the rooftop during lunch and it was a nice break away from the normal day to day eateries that offer outside - street level parking. We will be back !

Best Fish sandwich ever. Ranked in top 5 in my book. Eaten all over USA in its one the very best. Breading is crisp and freshly breaded.

I have gone here several times. It is one of my favorite restaurants in Manassas. It is a cozy local place in Old Town Manassas. The servers are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I alternate between getting their Black & Bleu steak or the Stout Braised Roast Beef. Both are delicious and come with croquettes--which wow, are unique and very good. Great place for a date, double date or meal with friends. I would highly recommend this local restaurant!

Went to this newly-opened spot in Old Town Manassas with my girl friends for brunch. It was a nice sunny day so we opted to sit at the rooftop - the heat became unforgiving but thank goodness there were umbrellas to provide some shade. We ordered Croque Madame, Traditional French Toast, and Vermont French Toast. First of all - please be warned that their servings are humongous! My friends and I were overwhelmed by how enormous our dishes are. I must also say that everything we had that day were very delicious! The service staff was fantastic - they were quite attentive and made sure that we got everything we needed. The prices were not bad - I can say it is affordable given the size of their dishes - two or three people can share a French Toast and not feel deprived. We really had a great time and I'm looking forward to trying more of their brunch menu or dinner menu next.

We found this small, quiet vibe in Manassas with a bar feature as soon as you walk in. They have inside and outside seating. Outside features a rooftop dining experience. The service was A+. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, we were politely serviced as soon as we got settled in our seats, the food was delicious and the options were plenty full and I didn't even have to ask for refills. The service providers were on top of everything. Also, I just so happened to notice that everyone seemed to work seamlessly together. Teamwork, makes the dream work.

I order fish and chips they give me A LOT FRIES , two pieces of fish it had a unique taste the fish was over cooked . The shrimp and grits cake was very good a little to much sauce . The place was clean . The Service was ok until the girls got together behind the bar and started talking bad about another girl. I'm not big fan of Paper napkins specifically eating fries

Fish & Chips was delicious and so unimaginably light and amazing and the asparagus was perfectly prepared. Cozy atmosphere and great service.

Nice weather, so walked to Old Town and went to Battle Street Bistro. Service was awesome and food was very good. My wife had the Pork loin with lemon rice and asparagus. She got the pork without the maple sauce and gave me a taste. Pork was very good and lemon rice was better than we expected-not too lemony as we thought it would be. I got the Greek Chicken. It was suppose to come with lemon rice but I opted for the asparagus instead. It came with Tzatziki that was very good and a little salad with tomato, bell pepper, green olives and feta cheese. I expected an entire piece of chicken but received a pile of chopped up chicken, but it was otherwise very enjoyable. Over-all, it was a very good experience. Definitely will go back.

Battle Street Bistro can be good at the right time and with the right menu selections. The good: the entree Niçoise salad is excellent, fresh and something I'd come back for again. The bad: Old Fashioned comes in a small wobbly glass (not a tumbler) filled with small ice cubes and a single suspect cherry - $14. The shrimp entree was hot, lots of flavor, but had 5 medium shrimp - perfectly cooked - $21. $45 with tax and tip, for a simple entree and drink. Times are tough for restaurants, but this is tough on my wallet as well :) The interior can be quite loud if one or two of the wrong people sit at the bar. So loud the staff and I couldn't hear each other. But it can also be quiet and relaxed in the afternoon. I think, given the right menu choices and time of day/week, this could become a regular destination.

This hidden jewel is tucked away on Old Town Manassas. There was no wait, however we called ahead to put our name on the list just in case. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. Our server, Eli was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. From the delightful and tasteful appetizers (corn fritters with pico de gallo & pecan crusted Brie) to every entree, our palettes were over joyed. Not only is the food great, service was excellent and the health score is 100%. This restaurant hits the spot. I'll be back!

Came here for the vegan menu. Definitely enjoyed it. Rooftop seating is great when the sun is out. Loved our server, and the food was great. I'd return if in the area again.

Nice local spot to grab lunch or breakfast. The menu has a lot of different options but I really enjoyed the Shakshouka that my daughter had. I tried the roast beef melt and it wasn't what I had expected so I don't think I would get it again. It was more like pot roast on toast and I was expecting a beef au jus sandwich. Be aware, they stop serving brunch at 1:00 so if you want items off that menu, go earlier.

I think Battle Street Bistro is doing a decent job starting out, but has room for improvement! For a small restaurant with just ~10 tables between the ground level and rooftop, a reservation system should be implemented. A "15 minute call ahead" system doesn't work if I call and am told it will be roughly an hour for a table. That's disappointing, especially to us neighbors living in Old Town. We noticed several things that need updating (yet the restaurant is brand new.) The wine glassware is passé. Think 1990s Italian restaurant short goblet. Also, several of the backs of the dining chairs were nicked and really worn. I should have snapped a photo, but didn't. Our entrees were excellent. My Stout Braised Roast Beef was fork tender and the brussels sprouts it was served with tasted like they were poached in butter! Decadent--and just what you'd hope for at a French bistro! The only disappointing item was the Pecan-Crusted Brie app. It was underwhelming in both portion and presentation for a price point of $13. I hope they can fine-tune a few things in the coming weeks! We'll definitely try them again.

Cowboy burger is amazing! The Vermont French toast slaps! Mimosas are unreal! 10/10 recommend.

Had lunch here today. Wife had been before. MIL got blue cheese burger. Outstanding! Wife got chicken sammy. Great. I got steak n frittes. The NY Strip was perfect. A highly recommend place! Jesus was our wonderful server! The young girl working with him was also terrific! A great time! Go! Go now!

Super cute place, very friendly environment! I got the traditional French toast with bacon n' eggs. It was very good and I'd get it again. The service was great as the servers gave accurate information on each dish.
