The most luxurious island resort here in the state of Johor Malaysia. It’s located on this beautiful island called Tengah island. It’s very pricey but totally worth it! The island has multiple beaches with white sand , and water crystal clear. The marine life is so alive and amazing, they practice marine conservation on the island. You will find your own patch of beach to yourself. The cabins are so big and so nice, all the creature comforts you will need. The restaurant has very good food, a well stocked bar too! The customer service is on point! Worth every penny we spent! They have a very nice swimming pool too. You can go on a hike around the island and observe the wildlife in the forest and the trails end by the beach! If you want to experience paradise with peace and quiet but you have money to spend, Batu Batu island resort is the place to go!

We booked Batu Batu for our New Year holiday. We were searching for a small island break (same vibe as Cempadek where we spent last New Year) and a colleague of mine recommended Batu Batu. ||From start to finish it was a wonderful vacation. The pre-departure communication was clear and efficient and meeting the island rep for the transfer from Mersing was easy. |Despite arriving very early on the island we enjoyed breakfast and our room was available which was hugely appreciated. ||As per the other reviews the island is absolutely stunning, powdery white sand (like the Maldives/Boracay), crystal clear water (even though it was technically monsoon season). The jungle on the island also gives a stunning backdrop. |The weather was perfect for us, apart from one cloudy day it was blue skies and scorching sunshine. We spent most days just lazing in and around the pool with breakfast lunch and dinner filling the remainder of the day. |My girlfriend used the spa twice and enjoyed the experience. ||The room (we had a beach front room) is great. Very spacious with a king size bed, day bed, kids annex and massive bathroom. Also a balcony overlooking the ocean and beach access. It had a mozzie net around it, ceiling fan and aircon. The view from the bed over the balcony and to the ocean was perfect. ||But without a doubt, despite how stunning the island is, the absolute highlight are the people. Every single person was a delight to talk to and genuinely wanted to make our stay as best as it could be. |A special shout out to (in no particular order) Jo-Ji, Danica, April, Gulfam, Mimi, Azzim, Sam and Benny.|We are already planning our return.

A Paradise on Earth||The clean air, the gorgeous white sandy beach and the aquamarine and turquoise waters are the first things you notice as you arrive. The place is serene and gorgeous and the beaches and the water is beautiful. There is an incredible abundance of marine life on the island. You can spot reef sharks, millions of fish varieties and lots of sea creatures even when you just walk along the beach. If you snorkel then a whole new world awaits. ||Since it’s a resort with full boarding, all the meals are included and ate eaten at the restaurant. The meals are delicious and there is a wonderful variety both for adults and kids. For kids they are more than happy to accommodate any requests and are very flexible with the menu. ||The one thing I greatly appreciate is their amazing staff. All of them are wonderful, warm and kind and a special shout out to Sam, Joji and Gulfan who anticipated all our needs and made our stay incredibly special and memorable. ||The Tengah Island Conservation Centre on the island is also great fun for the kids as they have a turtle conservation programme and we were lucky to witness and experience the joy of more than 130 hatchlings being released into the sea for their first time. ||Given the busy lives we lead, this is the perfect place if you want to switch off, be one with nature, spend time with your family and with yourself and enjoy the most exquisite snorkelling. The children were also very happy as they immersed themselves in the island life. ||We would definitely go back here again and again. It’s a beautiful place and is an absolute must visit.

My husband and I had a fabulous island holiday at Batu Batu Resort.|Contrary to some reviews, we found the food to be excellent. Ingredients were fresh and meals were always well executed. Whist it is not a buffet style meal, you can tell a lot of thought has been put into the changing daily menu to ensure there is something for everyone. The cooked to order meals ensured that the meals arrived piping hot. The staff constantly asked us if we needed extra rice/sides but we found the servings more than sufficient. Bigger eaters could certainly request for additional portions.||The island itself was beautiful with white beaches and the clearest waters I've seen. One of the highlights was being able to snorkel just by walking out from the beach. Sea life was abundant. There are several strips of beaches around the island, ensuring that you will be able to find some spot to yourself if you would like more privacy. ||The staff were always friendly and ready to help. Special shout out to Sam who went above and beyond to make sure we were well fed and Sheldon who gave us good tips on where to snorkel.

Private island with multiple pristine beaches and coral reef. Maldives-like feel only 2-3 hours by car and short boat transfer from Singapore. Kids loved to play by the beach and do snorkeling although there was no kids club. Every evening at the restaurant they could enjoy a movie while we had a peaceful dinner. We booked a jungle room and it was definitely in need of renovation for this type of price, nevertheless we loved the place and found that the price was mainly justified by having a stunning private island. Do not leave any valuables around as a precious necklace of mind disappeared from the room, this has been the only negative of the holiday, as well the fact that I did not receive any apology or major concern from management. We will definitely be back, book a room on the beach this time and leave around no valuables.

What a beautiful island and we received the best hospitality here. The beaches are amazing and super clean. We managed to see baby turtle being released to the sea and my kids cannot stop talking about it. You don’t expect the food would be so great here. We totally enjoyed the amazing food here. The staff are all well trained and friendly esp Sam, Mimi,Afifah, Jo-G, and all staff in turtle hatchery center. Definitely will come back

We stayed at this private island resort for three or four nights, and while the experience was enjoyable, there were some notable aspects to consider. First, be aware that reaching certain rooms involves navigating many steps. If climbing multiple flights daily isn’t your idea of relaxation, it’s worth requesting a room that minimizes this challenge. (Fyi I love steps) Our room was comfortable, with a nice layout, though the bathroom had a few quirks—also worth noting no WiFi. These small inconveniences didn't overshadow the stay but are worth mentioning. During our visit in late November, the monsoon season was in full swing, so the weather was a mix of rain, brief sunshine, and persistent overcast skies. While this meant stunning sunsets were off the table, the alternating weather added a unique charm. However, it’s worth noting that some amenities and activities were unavailable due to the season. Overall, if you’re looking for a tranquil retreat and don’t mind the seasonal quirks or steps, this resort can still offer a peaceful escape.

Resort was excellent! Slightly pricey for Malaysia but being able to snorkel from the resort’s beach was amazing. Being the only resort on the island made it feel very private, there wasn’t anyone else around.Crystal clear waters and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. Got to see sharks, stingrays, and even a turtle!! Food was alright, wasn’t amazing but still good enough! A very memorable family holiday
