Batu Bolong is a small temple nearby the more famous Tanah Lot temple and is perched on a cliff with a hole in it, that makes it a very spectacular setting (Batu Bolong means in fact “hollow rock”). Given the frailty of the ground it’s not possible to visit it but yet the beautiful ocean background makes it worth passing by.

The entrance is a little pricey for the country but there's a nice market, shops, restaurants and coffee around that are cheaper than most of big cities around. Good walk and good view.

Interesting place to visit. If you want to walk across to the island you need to be aware of the tides.

No words to explain. One of the best places to visit in Bali. Can't imagine the cleaness, the view of the ocean.

Visited on 6 May 2025 alongwith family. Nice place . Everywhere the " door to heaven". Must see while in Bali.

Just a short 5-minute walk from Tanah Lot is Pura Batu Bolong, a much smaller temple perched on a rock arch over the sea. It’s often less crowded, very picturesque, and well worth the short walk for a quieter, equally charming experience.

Very hot day at Batu Bolong Temple. We didn't stay long as the tide was high and we were not able to cross to go over to the temple. Beautiful area. There are stalls there to buy drinks or souvenirs.
