Baud et Millet offers an incredible experience for cheese lovers. Guests can take a sit in a cave where a chilled room behind a glass partition is home to approximately 100 cheeses and if you opt for this, you could eat as many as you like for €36. Hot dishes are available too - we got a cordon bleu and a duck foie gras served with a pear covered by melted cheese. Everything was delicious. Service was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As the restaurant filled, the ambience improved. It’s such an interactive dinner experience. Definitely recommended!

Google
A place of pure heaven and also indulgence. Smart, helpful staff. Fun wine selection, and the show-stopper is the subterranean cheese cave full of delicacies. If I could, I would go every time I visit Bordeaux, and, maybe, visit Bordeaux just to visit Baud & Millet.

We all did the 100 Cheese Cave which is about 35€ per person, unlimited cheese from the cave downstairs in the cellar. We chose a bottle of local white and red to go with the cheese (the alternative is to get a glass of the house red or the house white) The service was very nice and the waiters were friendly and spoke enough English for those in our group who don’t speak French. They offer bread and salad with the price and you can go back to the cave as many times as you like. We did two trips and spent ~2 hours there. (Also if you don’t finish the bottle it is customary to cork it and bring it with you)

Google
We discovered this place whilst searching for restaurants in Bordeaux and were instantly drawn in by the phrase ‘cheese buffet’. Whilst we were intending on choosing the Caverne aux 100 fromages, we both ended up choosing a different creuset each and with no regrets. The service was outstanding, informative friendly polite and accommodating. As cheese lovers we were not left disappointed and would heartily recommend it to those with an empty stomach.

What an evening! We turned up to a quiet and empty restaurant, no music and a couple of guests upstairs, before being taken down to a cave like setting for dinner. We sat next to the cheese room - a once in a lifetime experience! The chilled room behind a glass partition was home to approximately 80 cheeses (menu says 100 but I counted 😂) and if you opted for this, you could eat as many as you like for €34. Head upstairs to pluck a bottle of red from the shelf or head back into the cheese room for a chilled bottle of white. Hot dishes are available too - we got a charcuterie board with a pot of melted cheese and potatoes. All delicious. Service was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As the restaurant filled, the ambience improved - it’s such an interactive dinner experience. Note to restaurant - just pop some music on and it would have been PERFECT!

Google
ONE OF THE BEST, MOST UNIQUE PLACES IN THE WORLD!!! Went there for a cheese tasting and it was FANTASTIC!! As we went in, we were greeted with a smile, allocated a table and then taken to the cave with over 100 cheeses to taste! And we could fill our plates and come back as many times as we wanted. All the cheeses were great and they gave us a great suggestion of wine to pair it with. Honestly, travelling over the world and going around France and this is the first time I see a paradise like this for cheese lovers. Service was fantastic and you can tell the good relationships between the staff are reflected on it.

The chef is so sweet, attentive. if you visit Bordeaux this is a must visit plan on spending the evening.

Yelp
Saw the reviews on Yelp and as it was close to our hotel decided to give a try. Our group shared the fondue which was wonderful. Instead of a wine list they just have you look through there bottles and pick what you want. We didn't do this but an option is to go in the cheese cave and pick from a huge variety of cheeses. We would certainly go back

Yelp
This is the most fun way to eat cheese. Ever! It's a surprisingly small place down a nondescript street and is a total fabulous eating experience. The staff was really easy and great, explaining how the evening works, helping us select a bottle of wine, and then taking us down a very old staircase to the famous "cheese cave." 100 styles of cheese and you can slice up as much as you want. The fun continued with the specialty of the season (more cheese, yes!) and no rushing at all. When in Bordeaux, if you like cheese, book in advance and enjoy a really fun, delicious dinner. We loved it and have already recommended Baud Et Millet to several people.

Yelp
This is most definitely the place for all things cheese. Friendly staff, charming atmosphere, and a very nice wine list! If you're looking for an alternative, fun break from the normal, look no further. Tip - always book. This place is not vast and can fill quickly whatever the day of the week.

Yelp
We were four friends, and tried different foods from menu, it is a rich menu with foods which surprises you when you see the combinations that you cannot imagine goes well together. I found the cheese cave really interesting.

Yelp
Excellent family-feel restaurant, where the owner speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian. Very personable and service was great. The food, top notch, and averaging 25 Europe for entries; very reasonable for the quality.

Yelp
Pro: buffet of a variety of cheese Con: waiter is pushy (red head) and constantly in an heightened state telling you your scrapping the cheese wrong , I had to serve myself bread Overall we thought it would be a good experience but really disappointing due to the atmosphere and vibe of the waiter

Yelp
So. Much. Cheese. This was a fantastic find as two of our favorite things in life are cheese and wine. We tried to go for lunch but we found it closed as they were out doing deliveries. We ended up at a little lunch spot around the corner (Wood Kitchen) which was very good and I was explaining to the owner how our original plan was to go for cheese but they were closed. He was kind enough to call for us and ended up making a reservation (which I highly recommend). We arrived and Marty (who was very efficient, friendly and quite funny) greeted us and explained the process. He took us downstairs to the cellar where we found over 100 delicious cheeses and a big knife. The procedure was simple- fill your plate as much as you like and eat that with the salad and bread that he provided. Then, if you wish, go downstairs and start again. We were in heaven! The cheeses are grouped according to style so it was easy to start light and move to the more flavorful cheeses as you went on. We had many kinds of cheese that we had never seen before, all of them quite tasty. They had a very nice wine selection as well and we ended up purchasing a couple of bottles to take with us. We plan to do a return trip to Bordeaux in the future and we will definitely include Baud et Millet in our plans. Incidentally, while on a bicycle tour of St. Emilion the next day, we passed by Le Bis, the sister restaurant to this one. I would try that as well!

Yelp
I was staying with a local & came in with him on my last night before returning back to NY. It was fantastic! The vibe, food, wine etc. Unforgettable :-D Highly recommend anyone to visit if they are in the area...

Yelp
Great service, excellent selection of cheeses and wine. I went with my husband and daughter and we had a great time. Very nice atmosphere for a date or for a friends or family reunion.

Yelp
Excellent! Phenomenal selection of cheeses and wines... Definitely worth it! Our server was very attentive and the chef himself gave us a tour of his "cheese cave". I recommend knowing French wines since you have to pick the wines yourself from their wine area. They have all sorts of fondues as well, but we didn't get that far due to time... will definitely visit again next time I'm in Bordeaux.

Yelp
We were in Bordeaux for one evening and looking a restaurant with a unique French feel. Baud et Millet was perfect. Check out the cheese cellar. The owner was great and made the evening very special and the cheese enters were excellent.

Yelp
Do not pass up their lunch class experience! The restaurant owners are absolute experts in wine and cheese and are super generous with sharing their knowledge with you! The cheese cave is amazing and so unique to see. This lunch far surpassed my expectations. 12 cheeses and three wines, plus bread and some meat. Really an outstanding experience and I felt like I learned so much from the class!

Yelp
You can book a wine and cheese through the tourist office. It was well worth it. Christine was great in her description of the region and the wines. The cheese cellar is awesome with every imaginable type.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Bordeaux! Absolutely amazing cheese and wine and the cheese cave is a MUST see. The full menu looks amazing but we went for lunch when the menu was limited with only three options available. But trust me, those three options are the ones you want. We wound up choosing the cheese tour which included 3 courses of cheese (with 3 cheeses per course) and three glasses of wine that were especially selected and paired with the cheeses by our host. We were absolutely stuffed by the end. Everything was so delicious and as each plate was presented, we were given information on the region each cheese came from and a bit about what went into making that cheese. Absolute heaven. And to top it off, their desserts are phenomenal. Each of us at the table got something different and each one was so good, you cannot go wrong no matter what you choose. I wish I lived closer so I could go back often!
