This hidden gem of a hotel is a romantic dream to stay in. We stayed in the suite right off the reception area. While that may sound close to noise, it's a very small hotel and there is pretty much a fortress door in front of the regular door to the suite. The high ceilings are to die for and the room is very spacious. It's nice to have a mini fridge and sink area to keep snacks. The atmosphere is very peaceful and serene. Bed is super comfortable and the climate control has been great in the summer heat. Reception staff has been very pleasant and helpful. The bathroom area is clearly a recent upgrade and feels a little weak. Wish there was a door on the shower to prevent water from leaking. Absolutely love coming through the main old door into the stone courtyard that makes you feel like you are entering into an old world secret land. Would stay here again!

The building and location are sensational. Our room was dark: should perhaps have asked for another, but we were only staying two nights. Very friendly front desk service and a small selection of excellent spirits available, all based on trust, which is a nice touch My one major complaint is that our room wasn't made up (perhaps because it was New Year's Day?). Nevertheless, I would happily stay again – next time when the weather's warmer, perhaps.

Amazing experience at this gorgeous hotel which is a magnificent private home converted to a hotel. It is beautiful, quiet, chic, gorgeous furnishings and decorative details, the breakfast was delicious, it is quiet and in a perfect location in Montpellier. I didn't want to leave. It is a true French/European experience. There is nothing like this in the USA. If I could give Baudon de Mauny a million stars I would---it is perfection. Merci, a bientôt.

Excellent stay. Elegant building with appropriate upgrades yet retention of the beautiful original architectural elements. Fantastic location in the heart of Montpellier. Our very large room was on the first floor (second floor if you are from the US) It was originally the music room - high ceilings, beautiful moldings, wood floors, a small office off the room - nice amenity. Modern bath - the best of the old and the best of the new! Highly recommended if you are visiting Montpellier. Owner and staff are great - very helpful and knowledgeable.

We loved the beautiful Baudon de Mauny, everything was perfect and the lovely team so helpful. The only reason for not rating it full stars is to do with the 'funny pricing' breakfast options where we found ourselves having to choose on the spot, at the morning breakfast buffet, what we would be allowed to have or not, and a complete breakfast with various items was very expensive. It would be nice to have one price, a middle range price and leave the guests choose what they would like and feel that, for instance the fresh fruit salad would not be wasted away. A simpler price/menu approach for breakfast would therefore be very much appreciated. Thank you

This is a unique place to stay in Montpelier, well located but most importantly a chance to share the scale and grandeur of an Hôtel Particulier with a very few other guests. The surroundings are magnificent and the conversion of the small number of rooms very carefully provides all modern requirements without impacting on the historic feeling of each room. Dont miss it!

Divinely Cool and Understated! The Entrance, the decor, the respect paid to the integrity of the building and the thought put into the items necessary for a modern hotel all go to make this one of the most fantastic hotel experiences i have had for a long time. truly five stars!

Exceptional property. An absolutely stunning stone behemoth buried in the heart of prime oldtown Montpellier. Tastefully and sleekly modernified without detracting from any of its historic charm. Couldn’t ask for a cooler hotel, nor one better situated. Quiet and private. Staff is courteous and unobtrusive. Made an excellent dinner recommendation and took care of the reservation for me, which was appreciated. Optional barebones continental breakfast was laughable for 19 euros/head, but that’s really my only complaint, and the only reason I can’t give five stars. Would recommend to anyone visiting Montpellier, English-speaker or otherwise.
