Bavarian Blast Waterpark

We got half day passes in the morning around 11:30 and stayed until 2:30 and we tuckered ourselves out! We did 5 different slides, theres so many to choose from. Theres a toboggan one that you lay flat down and you can race the person next to you as its timed and you can see your time when your finished! My husband and i did it several times trying to beat our previous scores. The tube slides are great, I absolutely loved the big 6 person raft, that one definitely takes some quick turns making it very thrilling. Make sure you keep your back against the raft and hold on tight though! When we got off the first time i thought we were done moving and i started to move and i conked my head on the side as we were getting out so make sure your getting out after theyve pulled the raft into their special area and then it gets carried back up for the next riders. The swim up bar was fun, water was warmer and you can even swim outside which was very neat as its a little chilly today we got to see the steam coming off the water. The drinks were a little pricey at 16$ each but they were good. But two drinks at 33$ is a bit much after we already paid 40$ each to get in. So can i at least get a few dollars off or something? Like do the people get a discount who stay here? Im not sure. But its a great place to wear out your kids while you chill in the bar or lazy river. The wave pool wasnt open so we didnt get to use that at all my husband was bummed about that he really wanted to see the dragon squirt water out of his “tuba” instrument.

My son and I visited during the grand opening. I love that there is a wave pool. The lazy river is huge and definitely my speed. The adult only hot tub is a fantastic feature. We spoke to a young man, Alex H, who was very knowledgeable and delightful to talk to. I would highly recommend staying at or just spending the day at Bavarian Blast waterpark when visiting the charming town of Frankenmuth.

Our 3rd annual Bavarian stay was even more amazing than usual because of the Waterpark! I had SO much fun embracing the kid in me and getting on a waterslide for the first time in a decade. The family raff dragon ride was a super fun adrenaline rush and was a highlight of the trip. The staff working it (a redheaded young man) was very enthusiastic and friendly to everyone when it was their turn. The second favorite part for me was the indoor/outdoor hot tub! It was a great temp and felt so nice to have the cool breeze to balance the heat of the water and to enjoy some fresh air. I didn't try the swim up bar but there were several adults enjoying the area when we walked by. We also loved the "not so lazy river" for the fun little fast corners, the wave pool was a classic, and the basketball hoops provided some good family fun. The layout was great because it was very easy to find a central location table that we could see from almost anywhere we went. We also had positive experiences with the lifeguards at the wave pool and noticed how they kept a watchful eye of some younger kids in the wave pool and warned them when they were getting close to the deepest area. I didn't find the floors to be slippery anywhere I went. The water temperatures were GREAT in every part of the park, I was genuinely shocked at some of the reviews because I commented multiple times during our stay about how nice and warm the water felt. I never wanted to get out. As for cost - overnight prices barely went up in cost compared to the past, and having the included waterpark entry for a room of 4 people felt like a GREAT deal to us. All the money complaints seem to be from people who came for the waterpark only. I would recommend doing at least 1 night of stay to get the full enjoyment of the Bavarian and not feel the cost of individual waterpark expenses so much. (To be fair, we ate snacks in our room, we don't drink, and we didn't get a locker, but I will say that last time I went to Kalahari a small locker was 25). Overall we found ourselves spending 2.5 hours in the park and while it may not be for everyone there is a great variety of things to do. It felt very similar to Kalahari for me even down to having nice cabanas with nice amenities that I could see myself using in the future. I think a lot more people could have a positive experience if they would be smart about planning ahead and looking up information regarding types of slides and height regulations. This hotel is massively popular so having to park a distance away is expected and something to be planned for. Maybe some positive changes have been made based on older feedback, maybe I was just excited to be on vacation, either way I absolutely loved the park and I believe it deserves a much better overall rating!!! PS- The main page of the waterpark website says there are 16 new waterslides. I only counted 14 new ones and the 2 that already existed inside the hotel makes 16 total. Maybe worthwhile to consider changing the website's wording!

This was perfect for our 7 and 8 year old. So many slide options! The lazy river was definitely not lazy and we loved it!! The wave pool and hot tub were fun. And the slides for the younger kids are perfect to littles.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience the thrill of chilly water, confusing parking, and financially questionable snacks all in one day Bavarian Blast Water Park is your destination. Let’s start with the parking lot, which feels like it was designed by someone who’s never actually driven a car. By the time you find a spot, you’ll have circled long enough to qualify for a NASCAR warm-up lap. Once inside, you’ll notice that the water is chilly enough to make you question every life choice that led to this moment. On the bright side, the chill will keep you awake while waiting for your kids to finish their fifth ride down the slides, which, to be fair, are actually pretty great. The variety is impressive and they’re well-maintained. Pro tip: Bring your ID. You’ll need it to buy a day pass, rent a towel, buy a drink, and possibly to confirm your identity after the shock of food prices. Speaking of which — the food is so expensive that you’ll start checking the menu for financing options. You cannot bring your own food and drinks. Cleanliness? A+. The park is spotless. Even the bathrooms looked like they’d been scrubbed by Disney cast members with something to prove. Now, about that wave pool — it was down during our visit, which was disappointing. You’d think a closed main attraction might mean a discount, but apparently, Bavarian economics work differently. The cabanas are $279 (plus park entry for up to 12 people). Pricey, yes, but not outrageous if you split it — and they make a good base camp for when you need to regroup after sticker shock at the snack bar. And the crown jewel: the adults-only swim-up bar. Great vibe, solid TV placement for watching the game, but the drinks are weak and the prices are strong — the opposite of what anyone wants. The water here is warm. Come for the slides, stay for the chill (literally), bring snacks (wish you could) and brace your wallet. With a few tweaks — like functioning waves, cheaper food, and drinks that actually taste like drinks — this place could be a splash. Would I go again? Probably... but only if my cabana comes with a space heater and a loan officer.

So I will say, the Bavarian Inn Blast is a Bavarian Inn Disast. I would not recommend it unless you love waterside, because that is the only draw realy to the place. There is more chairs and tables than there are parking spaces for the entirety of the place. Very lack luster. The kids park part is only 6 slides, and if your kid is shorter than 36" , they cannot do ANYTHING. Its the largest indoor Waterpark because of the size of the facility, but there are more slides than anything else. While we are here the wave pool was closed for maintenance and it will not be ready till next week. The place has bot even been open a year. For a cheaper ticket and more fun to do fornthe WHOLE family, I would recommend Zehnders over Bavarian Inn. Poor experience. It is so disappointing because there was so much hype for this place and we were so excited expecting more, but it was very underwhelming. So if you are thinking of stopping here to stay the night, expect to circle the parking lot for 10-15 min fighting for a space because the day pass people are taking the parking from the hotel guests. We have been loyal in coming here for years, but next year we will be finding our fun elsewhere.

We come here each year during the fall/winter season and stay in the hotel while enjoying the waterpark. I love all the additions that they had made! The family enjoyed every second of it! My 4 year old daughter was even tall enough for the bigger slides which she loved! The indoor/outdoor jacuzzi was a hit too! Great place to bring family!

We've been going to Frankenmuth for the last 10 years at Christmas to go to the other water park and thought we'd give the new one a try. So here's my review: Firstly, everything was amazingly clean. The room was absolutely spotless and my wife and mother in law are sticklers about this point, and they were very pleased. Room and bathroom were smaller than the other place a tiny bit, but totally satisfactory. We stayed on F level where all the fun stuff is. The amount of arcade games was astounding. Multiple rooms with multiple kinds of games, it was huge, very impressed with that and my 11 yo son loved it. His favorite, and I loved it too, was the mini bowling. Did a lot of that! So fun. However, my son's very favorite thing was the wire walk thing (I forget what it's called). That thing is something else! Three story tall obstacle course, and he absolutely loved that, wife did too. Too draw, that! On the food front this place gets the nod as well. Ratskeller had good breakfast and pizza options, loaded fries, etc. Nachos out in the Waterpark were fantastic, as were soft pretzels. Really liked that they have a fancier sit down dinner style place too in Oma's. Had a delicious surf and turf here for $30! You can't get a steak at any major restaurant for that. Everyone complains in reviews about cost of cocktails here, but my top shelf whiskey and cokes were $6.50 in the water park. More than reasonable Imho. I didn't do swim up bar and only had like two cocktails all weekend, but I thought they were fantastic and cheap. The Waterpark itself was great, everything new of course. We all really enjoyed the slides, they were great, though I think they should add one major thrill slide. A double drop slide would be amazing and there seems to be room in there to add such a slide, so perhaps they will in the future. But the current slides were tons of fun, and this is the best part : ZERO LINES. And I mean zero. We didn't wait in line once in three days. The other guests were very friendly, and every employee was absolutely fantastic. Tip of the cap to the young man from Peru, he was especially friendly and great with my son. All the employees were. Now the water temp on a few attractions may have been a little colder than people want. I saw another review where the ceo says they keep it at 83. Well if that's so, dial it up to 87 or something, lol, because yes there were times we found the water a little chilly on a few attractions. However, overall, no biggie, it was a good excuse to hit the hot tub. And on that point I'll say the hot tub was amazing. Indoor /outdoor which we thought was simply awesome... We swam outside and it was snowing on us while we were nice and warm, it was really amazing. I also must mention the Bavarian Inn restaurant. We walked down across the wooden bridge (which is an absolutely beautiful walk) to Bavarian Inn. It was insane it was so delicious. Do the Jager Schnitzel. Just unbelievable it was so good. More food than you can eat, guaranteed. And I eat pretty good! So overall, five stars. I came looking for any reason to find fault and want to return to the other place, but I have to admit, they're doing it right at Bavarian Blast! And we had a BLAST! Tons of fantastic water slides for both kids and adults, a cute little wave pool, a lazy river, and even a full water basketball area with multiple hoops. But our favourite part? The adults-only swim area and bar, which extends outside. Even in the colder weather, it was incredible; the water was perfectly hot/warm and made for such a relaxing experience. First, zehnder's has this place beat hands down. There are so many more things to do at the zehnders water park it's not even funny. There are 6 main attractions: Lazy river 4 water slides Wave pool Basketball hoops/obstacle course Indoor/outdoor hot tub Kid's slides This sounds like a lot, but really isn't. We brought a family member and their first impression says it all "this is it!?" The building looks huge from the outside,but the water park only takes up a small portion of it. We stayed at the inn which included passes to the waterpark. It feels like the waterpark is an extra more than a main attraction. We felt we'd done everything we wanted within an hour or two. We've been to zehnder's twice and easily spent 4 hours there. I had a huge issue with their towel policy. $25 per towel deposit. If you return the towel, the money is reimbursed. What happens if someone takes your towel or a kid loses it? You're on the hook for it. At zehnder's, towels are plentiful and out for anyone who needs them. I prefer that approach more. The Cafe is overpriced, understaffed, and a rip off. We ordered 4 meals and a drink. $70! Worst of all, a 20oz pop was $5 WITH NO REFILLS! Our order took over 40 minutes and it wasn't even lunch time. Even a slurpee took 20 minutes because the staff was too busy to grab a cup. Seriously, that bad. There were some bad decisions made. The basketball hoops have a concrete post. Only a matter of time until someone hits their head on one. The bottom of the lazy river is extremely rough and could easily cause scrapes or bleeding (ask me how I know). The staff needs some training. I saw a kid fall and hit their head while going down a water slide. You would think that would be a required "incident report". Nope. I watched the lifeguard flinch and then shrug it off. The kid seemed fine, but should have been checked for a concussion or other head trauma.
