I went here to get headphones, after hearing about their amazing headphone wall. When I arrived I was greeted right away and shown to the headphones wall. It is amazing! Bradley was ready to help me find a great pair, and patiently showed me several options. This location has an incredible amount of variety, best in Toronto, for headphones. Super high-end to ~$200. Great value, and there is an in-store shopping discount too. If you need good headphones this is the only place to go.

I've periodically visited BBR over the past few decades. Always a really cool experience. I've also had great experiences ordering from them online. This visit was to test out some speakers and get some advice. Adam Wright not only took his time with me, but made me feel right at home. We tested multiple speakers, through many different tracks. With Adam's help and expertise I was able to make a informed purchase and I am extremely happy with my new setup. Thanks again Adam. If you haven't made the time to visit Bay Bloor Radio, you are missing out.

Always an impressive array of high-end audio equipment at Bay Bloor Radio. I hadn't been to the store for a good decade or two, so I thought I'd drop by. The store looks great! The headphone wall was impressive. The variety of McIntosh equipment is also a highlight.

What a fantastic store, great products and salespeople. Dealt with Adam Wright, very helpful and knowledgeable. Ended up picking up an Advance Paris A-12 and it sounds as good in my living room as it did in the showroom! Can highly recommend Adam and Bay Bloor audio.

I purchased my first Marantz Portable record from Bay Bloor Radio in 1984 as a Radio Television Arts student at Ryerson… that was 40 years ago… This year I continued my journey with BBR as I moved back to Canada and purchase a Small HiFi B&W system from David Ivancic. As usual the customer service was 5 Star and the follow up I needed was excellent…. Last week I made another purchase this time with Addison the Headphone Expert… and I mean EXPERT… after 4 hours of review and countless try on’s of an whole spectrum of headphones and in-ear pieces … I arrived a pair of Campfire CLARA. Addison and David exemplify professionalism is the Audio Retail space! Thank you to you both

I was so happy when I learned about the Headphone Wall—it’s exactly what I’ve always wanted when searching for a new set of headphones and I was excited to be able to test out so many pairs. I’m an audiophile at heart but lack the technical knowledge to be able to easily communicate what I need in a pair of headphones—Alan listened to even my most abstract explanations and was able to expertly guide me towards the sound profile that I was looking for. He was knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the nearly two hours I was there trying on headphones, and in the end I came away with the perfect pair! Excellent customer service and exceptional product. I will definitely be returning for all of my future audio needs! 😊

Dropped in today to audition some speakers. After wandering around lost for a few minutes, I asked the closest sales gentlemen, who turned out to be Carlisle, for assistance. He set up the JBL L100s and KEF R3 Metas that I was wanting to audition after the seeing many YouTubers' videos raving about them - I was not impressed with either. After describing the sound I was looking for, he set up a pair of Sonus Faber bookshelves to AB - wow, the soundstage opened right up compared to the KEFs. For the next hour he let me audition up and down the Sonus Faber line up from bookshelves to towers. He even spent time for me to audition the $20k+ Maximas knowing that it was likely much beyond the price range I was intending to spend - nevertheless he indulged me. The stereo image they projected was something else. For context and to address some of the other negative reviews, I was not dressed particularly well and at no time was Carlisle condescending or arrogant. I believe that if you give respect, you'll get respect in return. I'll be back!

Yelp
I bought a NAD CD player years ago. The lights went out within a few months. The repair girl was rude. She said that I played it too much. I told her I didn't buy it to admire as if it were a painting. They fixed it and it stayed fixed for 24 hours. I brought it back and the store manager said, "What really happened?" I decided then and there never to walk into that store again. I took it into a guy with a little shop where he fixes something. He told me there were two bulbs, not one, and replaced them both. It lasted longer but the lamps died again. My uncle had one of them too. He had the same problem.

Yelp
Bay Bloor Audio's repairs are trash. I bought a brand new Dynavector Cartridge and had it upgraded to a ruby cantilever and better diamond by Sound Smith. All in all running me almost $2000 CAD. I asked BBRadio to install it and they called me back and recommened that just keep the old stylus (A cheap Ortofon 5E). I pushed back and said that made no sense but they said the ortofon was a better fit for the table and would not install the Dynavector. Well after I got the stylus back I see why they reccomened I not use it. They had broken it. No Diamond at all. They just straight up bashed the shit out of it. Odd that they never menetioned this on the phone with me, only saying that it was not a good cart for the table. When I addressed the fact that it was broken it, they said "Oh yea it is, it came in that way." They are liars and criminals. Bay Bloor Radio are conmen and you better find another place for your audio equipment and repairs or you will be taken advantage of. NEVER SHOP AT BAY BLOOR RADIO!

Yelp
Had the same experience as Joseph S. with the same excuses and denial with regard to choices. Will never ever trust them again.

Yelp
To me, the Bay Bloor Radio brand is quality, expertise, service. This however, does not reflect my own experience. I purchased a mini 'Mozart' system there - Mission speakers, Yamaha receiver/CD player. I know nothing about audio, which is why I went to Bay Bloor Radio. They have the knowledge and I will benefit from their knowledge, I thought. I live in Toronto, Danforth area...pretty high ground when compared to say, the BEACH area. As it turns out, the system I bought is unable to receive a radio station signal, even a large, well-established radio station signal, without the presence of static. When I corresponded with BBR about this, I was told 1./ Radio frequencies compete with other signals today, sometimes resulting in static. 2./ With streaming being as popular as it is, not all manufacturers provide quality radio reception as its not the focus of the product, the target market. That all makes sense to me, and this information would have been helpful at the time of purchase. It would have absolutely informed my purchase decision. I incorrectly expected BBR would have helped me to gain an awareness of this sort of info. For example, the BBR salesperson could have asked what my expectations were, "...will you be streaming radio or using the antenna?" In the end, I'm not saying don't buy here. What I am saying is, I should not have assumed I would be able to listen to radio via the antenna. I should have asked if I would be able to listen to the radio via the antenna without the presence of static. BTW, I tested two radios in the same area of my house...a 10 year old portable Tivoli and a 30 year old portable Sony. Both radios were able to receive radio signals without the presence of static.

Yelp
The sales staff can (not always) act like car salespeople, i.e. they look at you and decide how much you're worth to them. Or, they hire Asperger's people who have difficulty saying hello when you walk in, unless you're dressed to the nines. But, they do know their shit. When it's technical questions, they have the answers. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS EXCELLENT!!!!

Yelp
I've been dealing with Bay Bloor Radio for probably thirty years now. Although less in recent years, mainly because I moved to another part of the city. A recent experience with Bay Bloor Radio reminded me that if you want the best equipment and service, you should always go with the best: Bay Bloor. My Sonos set up wasn't working properly and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I also had a TV that kept bringing up unwanted pop-up messages. So I contacted Bay Bloor Radio and they sent Frank over to look into the problems. Frank arrived right on time--literally to the minute--and was fantastic. He not only fixed all the problems, but was very patient in explaining what was causing the issues. Frank was friendly, professional and clearly knows his area of expertise backwards and forwards. It was such a relief to finally get someone who could resolve these ongoing problems. If you're looking for the best audio/video equipment along with first-rate service, look no further than Bay Bloor Radio.

Yelp
I approached this business as they were advertising that one of their specialties was classical music. I was looking for a new receiver as my existing receiver didn't do well with Classical FM. This station compresses its music much more than its competitors and I need a quality receiver to deal with this. It turns out the staff didn't really have a clue. I didn't buy and emailed them with detailed questions which they haven't bothered to respond to. Its obvious that they may know about the specs of the boxes they sell but don't really understand about how to use them. If I wanted that level of service I could buy from Amazon and save a lot, and I mean a lot of money.

Yelp
Sold defective product thst requires out-of-pocket shipping charges and great hassle to try to replace. Bad phone service.

Yelp
"A good bet for the relatively inexperienced buyer or transformation of dyed-in-the -wool types on analogue systems before - good digital systems and digital wireless systems are quite complicated today - especially for those seeking something better than just ordinary and run of the mill. " BBR is virtually the only high end place square downtown left other than Planet of Sound. There are other smaller quality shops outside of the core, but reputation varies. BBR have went more or less maintstream with their product line and have a relatively good overall selection, price and inventory - but little obscure product line. For that you have to know what you want and there are many competing brands that may confuse buyers. Sourcing these competing brands may prove difficult. One thing for certain, I would strongly advise people to stay away from the big box stores, such as Best Buy etc., for anything other than beer budget equipment - especially when it comes to audio equipment. Perhaps they offer good sales on A/V receivers and TV's - IF - you truly know what you are buying. Yes, perhaps you might pay a bit more at BBR, however the quality of advice and service, return policies and warranty representation is worth the extra. And if you have a problem, they back up their products. Try that at the big box stores. As with everything else in life, you usually get what you pay for. BBR have a knowledgeable and very helpful staff, and can get anybody up with a good system within your budget plus they offer in-home set-up service. For the old dyed in the wool types on analog source or vintage or someone on a really tight budget try used ; analog, phono, tube-amp stuff or some newer equipment there are a few good used places in town; Ring Audio and of course web-based canuckaudiomart.com. You can get some very good deals here, and quality stuff too, primarily analogue equipment. Speaker repairs: the Speaker Shoppe, Toronto. For specific higher end equipment, there are also web-based retailers south of the border, but few will ship to Canada, but can to a US based shipping/forwarding service. But this is for more experienced audio buffs that probably won't be reading this review. I digress and despite the many options I have provided. They also sell high-end television systems and TV theatre systems. Also recommended as TVs are also confusing as to what to buy. All in all - spend your money wisely and talk to the experts. At least you will get your moneys worth, know what you are buying and get what you need. R

Yelp
We just purchased Samsung Tv from this company and I would say that this was our best experience of buying online. Great service. Perfect procing, product as expecting and very, very accurate delivery. Strongly recommend.

Yelp
In 1980, newly-wed and in need of an audiophile stereo system at a great price, I was taken by my father-in-law to see his friend, Sol Mandlsohn, proud proprietor of Bay Bloor Radio. Sol said he would take care of me. and he did. Almost forty years later they still do. Outstanding store and outstanding people. It's tradition!

Yelp
Well over a year or two ago, I bought two sets of Danon headphones here. That experience was in and of itself average and uneventful. Bay/Bloor was having a great sale on them, I researched the brand and make appropriately, and purchased them. Nothing to write home about. Recently, one of my pairs' headband/slider components broke. Obviously I was no longer under warranty, but I figured I would come in anyway and just ask whether I could order the part online and fix it myself. I went to the Repairs desk, and the gentleman working listened to my dilemma, and my request, and told me to wait a second. He went into the back room and returned holding a new headband component. He attached it in (no exaggeration) under a minute. I asked him what I owed, and he said no charge, and went back to work, selflessly turning around even as I was thanking him. He went above and beyond (I did explain I would happily repair myself) and while I rarely need an update to my current pairs, I don't imagine I will ever shop anywhere else for headphones. This is the kind of service that builds strong customer relationships.

Yelp
This place makes hubby grow a chubby in his pants, seriously!!! If you need to keep your man occupied while you're up to no good in the Yorkville area, just dump his ass here for an hour or so and he'll be fine, he won't even ask about the $400 shoes you just bought really, it'll be fine... He'll be too consumed by the aural pleasures offered by the $12,000 Totem speakers to notice! I did buy a Tivoli radio here for my mum's Xmas present a couple years back and the service was efficiently nice. There was even a little gift wrapping station where my present to mum was all gussied up too! Admittedly I think the sales rep assumed I was a daft girl who knew shit-all about audio equipment and kept rhyming off product knowledge repetitively, but once I started finishing his sentences, he knew to back off and let me decide which Tivoli was best for myself. The selection at Bay Bloor Radio is vast and you'll find more high brow quality AV brands here that simply make audiophiles like my hubby salivate. There you go Bay Bloor Radio...it's like a baby sitter but for adult men....

Yelp
I am absolutely not comfortable in stores that sell electronics. I'd generally prefer to get in and out as quickly as I can without being noticed. If I'm spotted, inevitably salespeople start asking me questions I don't know the answers to and I feel like the awkward electro-moron that I am. Lucky for me, someone directed me to Bay Bloor Radio when I told them I was in the market for some new headphones. The store itself is clean and bright, though walking through displays of electronic things and past the special rooms for listening to speakers was intimidating (that's my issue, not theirs). The staff (and I say staff instead of salespeople because I didn't feel at all like I was being sold to - I felt like I was being helped to find the things that I wanted) were friendly and casual. They steered me in the right direction but also allowed me time to just stand around and listen to headphones without hovering over me. They answered all of my (unsophisticated) questions and helped me find headphones that I am completely in love with for exactly the amount of money I told them I wanted to spend.

Yelp
I'm about as far from audiohilia as one can get. Tone deaf and lacking in rhythm, I proudly announce that my favourite song is whatever's playing on the radio (the sonic equivalent of when being asked "what's your favourite book" answering "I read a lot of magazines"). That said, even I know that once my stereo equipment starts snapping, crackling and popping like a bowl of breakfast cereal, it's time for an upgrade. I used to buy sound equipment at department stores, when such retail dinosaurs ruled the earth. Mainstream selection and lack of product knowledge among the rent-a-staffers did that in. I flirted briefly with the big electronics chains, but between high pressure tactics, useless add-on warranties and punitive return policies, I decided to look elsewhere. Enter Bay Bloor Radio. As an acute sufferer of buyers' remorse, it says something that I have never returned anything purchased from BBR. I chalk this up to knowledgeable, engaged staff who would rather see you walk out empty-handed but fully informed, than make the quickest buck. My tastes may be pedestrian, but I get consistently good advice, and that's worth a few extra bucks.

J. D.

Yelp
Great selection, knowledgeable sales staff and competitive prices. Forget Best Buy--this is the place to buy high-end audio and video equipment in Toronto.

Yelp
After being a loyal customer of Bay Bloor Radio for the past 10 years, I am dismayed to rate the store with the poorest rating available to me. I learned that they're great during the sales process: Great consultation, attentive sales attention, and tons of patience. However, I also recently learned that they give you the converse experience when you go in for service. I walked in because my recent purchase is defective. Upon hearing that it's not a sales opportunity, the salesperson who welcomed me immediately became abrupt and sent me to their "shipping" desk in the back of the store. It goes downhill from there. I spoke to the manager, and the bottom-line is they can't help me and I have to go directly to the manufacturer. In his words, "there is absolutely nothing I can or want to do". They claim that the manufacturer won't allow them to exchange or service the product. In summary, they're great when they want your money. Once they have it, you're on your own. I am dismayed to conclude that Bay and Bloor is unsatisfactory and you're better off going somewhere else. Or, make your purchase here and hope and pray that nothing goes wrong.

Yelp
My wallet..... and my wife become unhappy when I visit this store. I have lot's to say so let's go with bullet format: - Amazing service - they put the customer first. - No high pressure sales pitch - Great brands, from the low end to high end. You can get a system for $1000 all the way to $50,000 - They will deliver and install the equipment in your house. Also position the equipment for best sound. - Amazing head phones selection. I-pod buds are very low end, invest $100 - $200 and you will get much better sound. - they are an official Bose Dealer - You can listen to the systems before you buy. I sometimes here the comment that the store is expensive but that would apply to the higher end brands which are certainly more expense but do sound a lot better. They carry a complete range for all budgets. A great place to browse if your into audio / video equipment but fair warning, if you do not have will power (I don't) you can easily leave with some expensive boxes.

Yelp
I have been a customer for over 10 years. Never had a problem at all. They've always done some minor discounting. The staff are generally long-timer's and competent, if a little un-enthusiastic. (I'm sure you'd be burned out after working there for many many years). -- but they are competent and nice guys. I've never interacted with someone with a bad personality -- they just seem a bit tired :) I've purchased projectors, amplifiers, speakers, etc... and the support from them has always been great. Over the years they have moved more 'down-market' to more affordable systems. If you are looking for a good hi-fi system they've got enough choice to make you happy. Not as much choice as some of the other hi-fi shops in town but BBR might have more entry level systems at more modest prices for condo-dwellers. Other hi-fi shops might have something that sounds better, even for the same price, but you'll have to spend more time researching/listening at these shops to see what suits your tastes. I view BBR as a good store, with a good business model, and good staff aiming to get people enjoyable systems without fuss. If you want to optimize your $$$ and maximize your :) then I'd suggest trying some of the the smaller hi-fi shops in town that have different products you can consider. If you want a one-stop shop for entry-level (good) Hi-Fi then BBR is great.

Yelp
I'm a bit torn in my review. They have very nice stuff, and it's a great place if you can afford their products - but you can get better prices on some of the stuff they carry elsewhere. And I guess one of the things that still grate on my nerves, is, I bought a "display" receiver and took it home and spent 10 hours trying to get it working. My problem was I had NEVER used a receiver before, and I didn't have a clue about what I might be doing wrong - so I spent days reading through the manual and trying this and that - and everything else. Many wasted hours only to find out that the thing was DOA. Somebody in the store blew the thing up and it stayed on the shelf and went home with an unsuspecting custome - me ! And something else just kinda bugs me at an unconscious level about this place. There seems to be a subtle tendency of the staff to look down on you if you are not wearing a suit. Just my feeling. But - of course - if you're not wearing an expensive suit - then you probably can't afford their better stuff.

Yelp
Great selection and great products/brands are what this store have going for it. They also have a decent return/exchange policy on most items and their prices are usually fair. Things fall apart though when it comes to the sales people who are either not helpful or at times downright dishonest. One example is one of their sales guys selling me a pair of their headphones as new and instead giving me their demo floor model without telling me. If it was an accident, I would understand but this was done deliberately. A great place to shop but beware of the sales staff and make sure you do your home work before making a purchase.

Yelp
Hi Guys.. Bought some Sennheiser HD599 headphones from your staff... they sounded the best to me... I got them home, plugged them in and said "yum" what a sound... don't demo with MP3s if you can help it... they're lossy sub-band coded... the DSP throws away information to save memory space which is precious... don't know if its noticeable though... Other stuff... Wanted a good clock radio/CD player with separatable speakers .. couldn't find it... I wanted a JVC-FS5000 like the one I got from Kromer for $350+tax. RIP Kromer... hey Allan want a job?? I sent you an email... maybe Bay Bloor will hire you and your team? Hate it when the building gets torn down or burns... Vinyl? Why? Digital is better... Vinyl muds... but hey... will most people notice the difference? I'm an audiophile tweek... your vinyl is expensive compared to kops records... get some good demo CDs and vinyl to show your systems off with... maybe some DVDs too... Andrew. Nice technics 1200s... undemonstrable though due to lack of head shell and cartridge... get orotophon or grado... they're the best... no belt to break in a 1200 unlike a dual 505... good enough to use in a nightclub with mixer, headphones and big amps with JBL.. junky but loud... sorry tin ears... Also, no receivers or tuners on display... why? Run rogers cable to them... it should work... if I'm not mistaken... Service department hopefully is competent... Consider calling 1800CONSULTANT to fix your product line and get out of the park home runs... its $100 per business per year... and 1800LIFEPLAN $10 per year for each of your staff... Through 1800CONSULTANT you can get your website done for $1000 one time cost... and $100 per year for web hosting with unlimited bandwidth if I understand correctly... Cheers Andrew P.S. Other than that... a very satisfied customer. (c) Copyright 2017. Andrew M. Walduck. Associated Press. All rights reserved.

Yelp
Update! I recently took my 20 YEAR OLD speakers, purchased when I was 20 to the Speaker Shop on Eglinton (see my other review) to have the rubber around the speakers replaced. (It typically needs replacing as it tends to crack and dry out after a number of years.) I wasn't sure if the speakers were too old to be bothering with, but the gentleman assured me they would cost about $600-$800 to replace if I bought new ones!!!! How is that for value! If you remember - I paid $799 for the whole system in 1992. I heart Bay Bloor Radio.

Yelp
I have had two great shopping experiences at Bay Bloor Radio. Although you might be able to find some of their electronics (or their equivalents) for cheaper at more big box style stores, the service and experience you get here is totally worth the extra money! Both of my purchases have been of the sound variety. I really like that the sales people take the time to talk with you about all the options and do not pressure you into overspending and are helpful with all the specs. My most recent purchase (that I do not want to disclose too much about because it is a Christmas gift) was reasonable priced for the sound quality and versatility of the item. Also, even when you are just browsing the sales people are more than happy to help and provide you with their card. You never feel like they want to leave you to chase another sale. Customer service at its finest!
google avatar

Yelp
The service at Bay Bloor Radio is absolutely exceptional. I needed to purchase a gift just before closing time on a Saturday night, and the staff still took their time helping me and making sure I got everything I needed. I could not recommend this store highly enough
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty decent selection of headphones but unfortunately they run through a wall and receiver with maybe around 50 other headphones. I think this may affect the audio quality. They recently upgraded their headphone wall setup though but I haven't checked it out. Quite lacking in terms of speakers I can use with my computer. They only carry about 3 sets and none of them sound that good, even though one is priced at over $500. Service is friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Now its not often that im in places like thisit has a lot to do with being a penniless student. However, a friend of mine just received some money and felt it was time to invest in a high end stereo system. You talk to any one in Toronto and they will tell you that Bay Bloor is the place to go. And i have to agree. Lets just say now that when dealing with these kind of product, you can never use the term affordable, but their prices were extremely competitive. However, the thing that sets this place apart from you regular radio shack or what have you is the services. We spent almost two hours with a whole range of expert staff, making sure that the best possible package was attained. I highly recommend buying any of your home entertainment equipment from herewell that is if you ever a couple grand laying around.

Yelp
Good selection of quality audio equipment. The staff was unhelpful and rude to us. They don't have an acoustically treated listening room. And the store is too noisy to try out open ear headphones, or hear details in the speakers.

Pete D.

Yelp
Their headphone selection is somewhat lacking for such a large store. It's also a bit too noisy to get a good test of the headphones. I would recommend this store to people shopping for hi-fi equipment, but there are better places to buy headphones in Toronto.

Yelp
I went in on Saturday August 21 2021. I was in the market for a new audio system. The receptionist asked this sales person if they could help me and my wife. He kind of hummed and hawed, and reluctantly started to try and assist us. I explained to the sales person what I was interested in purchasing. I told him the kind of taste in music that I had, and what kind of sound I was looking for. He cut me off mid sentence and stated to me that "He was an Audiophile, and this is what I do for a living" He constantly talked down to my wife and myself. He demonstrated a pair of speakers for me, and I told him that I was not impressed with them. He got very defensive and told us that these sound very accurate and sound great. I asked him if he could hook up a subwoofer along with these speakers? He stated that he has never hooked up a subwoofer in this room. he came back with a cable, and stated it would take him 35-40 minutes to hook up a self powered subwoofer. He told me that these speakers have deep bass and are very accurate , and that if I wanted to destroy them, go ahead and crank them up and destroy them if that's what I wanted to do to them after purchasing them. He was very pompous, ignorant and shallow. He talked down to me and my wife for the last time. We left the store, but not before informing the receptionist that she should talk to the manager about this sales persons poor attitude. My wife told him that we were treated rudely, and talked down to many times during the demonstration. He stated he was only trying to help. I am an owner and CEO of my own company, and if any of my employees ever treated any customers in this manner, I would walk them out the door no questions asked! I will be contacting the owner to follow-up further. Bay Bloor Radio just lost more than myself as a customer. I will be sure to tell everyone that I know in the market for high-end audio equipment where to stay away from. Good job Bay Bloor Radio! Keep up with the attitude, you will put yourself out of business with these type of sales people working for you.

Yelp
We bought a Macintosh amp from them and the service was incredible. It's a long winded story, but here goes. We received it and had it for about 24 hours when we had a plumbing job done at our home and the plumber plugged directly (without a surge protector) into our outdoor plug and ended up short circuiting our electrical panel three times within minutes and it affected our new amp. Needless to say we fired the Plumbers (Roto Rooter, ugh never again) on the spot, but we had a busted brand new amp in addition to no usable toilets(!). We didn't know what to do but we ended up calling Bay Bloor Radio to explain what happened - they took care of us so well, called the manufacturers immediately, arranged for pick up and replacement and kept us posted the entire time all while keeping us calm. They even went to effort to offer and provide us with a temp amp for us to use while waiting for the replacement, but the replacement came before we needed it. BBR's service was absolutely amazing and since this experience, we will ONLY buy from BBR going forward. It alleviated all our stress and we are so grateful. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Never having spent more than $30 on earphone before, in May of 2010 I bought a pair of $70 Sennheiser earbuds. Up until this week I had absolutely no problems with them, but for whatever reason one of the sides blew. I called the store to see if by some miracle they had an in-store warranty and if I could replace them or repair them, and they did! Since they took my contact info when I bought them, I was able to exchange them for a new pair without a receipt, no questions (beyond "whats wrong with them?") asked.

Yelp
I had gone through 4-5 different sets of cheaply priced (under $50) headphones over the past couple years, and decided it was time to spend the extra coin and get a quality pair that would last a while. I live in the area and decided to pop over to Bay Bloor to hopefully find a quality set. I stood by the headphone section for approx. 5 minutes staring at the selection, and was approached by a salesperson. He offered his assistance in finding a pair - and did an excellent job. He asked my price range and provided a variety of models, allowing me to try each of them (while wiping them down with sanitizer prior which was appreciated), and explaining the pros/cons of each. I made my selection on a nice set of Bose in the range I wanted and have been thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. Good customer service, good quality products. I would definitely go back for another electronics purchase

Yelp
Very kind stuff. You can try every earphones in the stock and pick the best one that you like.

Yelp
It stinks that a store with such a great legacy has really let it's guard down. If you want great selection and service in the high-end stereo department, this is still a place worth visiting. I recently went in looking for a bluetooth speaker. I was told the only brand worth considering was Bose. I asked if there were other brands I could listen to -- I've owned Bose stuff in the past, and haven't loved their weird overcompensation tricks that tend to be bad for detailed listening. Sales rep basically treated me like an idiot and told me not to even bother listening to anything else based on his assessment of price and value. Not to mention, the guy says all this with an exasperated tone. "Don't know why you'd even bother looking at other stuff, man." I'm not usually picky about customer service, but I didn't appreciate being treated like some idiot. Visit Planet of Sound if you want someone to treat you like a normal person.

Yelp
Great selection of high end audio. However, the staff person who looked after me was very condescending and seemed to be making light of my taste in music. If I could find the high end equipment they have in other stores, I wouldn't bother with these jerks.

Yelp
We ordered two speaker stands and a speaker bracket from Bay Bloor Radio in December. We paid the full amount and were told that we would receive a call from the store in two weeks when our merchandise arrived. We didn't hear from the store for over 1 month! Finally, my husband called the store only to be told that the speaker stands still had not arrived an that we could come in to the store for a refund. So we went back to the store for a refund only to be passed from one sales person to another because they could not figure out how to make a refund. One hour later, we were still standing in the store with no refund and no speaker bracket. Based on our experience, the poor customer service at Bqy Bloor Radio does not justify their higher prices and we will avoid this store in the future.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. When you try and call the service department they put you on hold, then cut you off, then tell you how busy they are. Cancel appointments at the last minute. Amateurish at best

Yelp
Not a great experience at all. Bay Bloor delivered and installed a new smart tv to my home in March 2017, same size as the one i previously had. Got a call from the Bay Bloor installer (my wife was at home taking delivery) and he told me the screws would not line up with the existing stand. In the end, it was left 'hanging' on the bracket as opposed to being fully secured. Swivel function no longer worked. I ended up using twist ties, but I'm not comfortable with it. Installer did not tell sales guy, who i went in to see a few days later for advice. He had no idea what happened. Heck, by that point I was even willing to spring for a new stand. Really problematic thing was I asked for their pros to come and do in the install, and that i was willing to pay above and beyond the $100.00 delivery fee just to get it done. That was clear. Follow up email asking for help, no response. I'd never go back now, even though I've made purchases of headphones, remotes, plenty of bose products - and more! - throughout the years from Bay Bloor Radio. Really, really disappointing experience, based on the reviews I've read here. Even though the TV is great, I can't recommend Bay Bloor.

Yelp
I bought an amazing set of headphones here and although they were pricey I've had them for nearly a decade and they get a lot of use. That being said, the BBR experience is not always the best. You're virtually ignored most of the time by the staff unless they sense your well heeled and about to spend ten grand on a pair of speakers. I miss the old Ring Audio days.

Yelp
unsatisfied customer!Spent over $5300 on a home entertainment centre, which does not work as promised. Puchased the Nad reciever and was told it was capable of have 2 zones so i could hook up the bathroom speakers to it. I could not figure out how so i went to the store to make sure it was possible. I was told again that it can but i was just not using the right menu selections. I read all the manuels and wasted hours of my time and other people time with no sucess. I decided to go back to the store and talk to the sales person who sold it to me. After looking online he told me that it can not do 2 zones and that he had made a mistake. So I asked what my options were. He said i might be able to exchange the reciever with another, but it would have a lower sound performance. I was happy with the performance, and did not want to take an inferior product. The other option was the Sonos system, which |I did purchase. I as if I could get some kind of a deal on the system but h e said it was not possible, because you make no money on the system and would not take a loss on the purchase. So his mistake cost me over $700! I think that it is unfair and bad business. Your company prides itself on having staff that are very knowledgeable about the products. I made my purchase because of that reputation, and was will to pay a little extra too get it. I feel like Bay Bloor radio has failed me, and cannot recommend them to any friends and family. The sales team made me feel like the comission was the most important part of the job

Yelp
I went to Bay Bloor knowing they were not the lowest cost guys out there and I was fine with that becasue I wanted to get good advice and I was happy to pay a little more. I was convinced by the sales guy to buy a complete Sonos system- 6 speakers, 3 volume controllers, a Sonos Amp and Sonos bridge. I have now completed the install and am happy with everything but the Sonos bridge. I specfically asked if I would be better off with an Airport Express and was told they are functionally the same but was very dismayed to find that the Sonos is extemely limited in options: - uses Tune in Radio but does not support the higher level version so is very limited - does not allow other music apps to run through the bridge - manually adding the URLs as suggested by Sonos did not work - I tried Airport Express at a friends house and it was far easier to install and supported every app on my ipad Bottom line is that I got bad advice- I assume becasue they do not carry the competitor's product. I have bought an Airport Express and trashe the Sonos bridge. Very irritating.

Yelp
Bought a DVD recorder four years ago, and have had to have it serviced three times since then. Recently, they charged me $101.70 to fix it. They said they would call me when it was finished. After 10-11 days, I had received no call and called them. I was then told the cost, and that I could pick it up the next day after 1 pm, effectively admitting they hadn't started yet, since I was billed for 1 and a half hours labour, which I asume took place the next morning. They wouldn't take my credit card without a pin number, even though I've used it for nearly 20 year without one, and had a five figure limit on it and nothing used of it. I had no pin number, so I had to go to a nearby bank machine to get cash, and wasted another $1.50 for ATM charge. Two days later, after making only 1 and a half discs with the repaired machine, it has broken down again. It will not read any discs, even legit ones now. I called and was informed I still have to bring it all the way back (I live in the north end of the city, and have to take the subway) or if they pick it up from my house it will take a week before they can arrive, and they still have to take it away for an indeterminate amount of time to fix the problem...again.

Yelp
The first impression of Bay Bloor Radio is just one word fancy. It is a upscale store located in a upscale area. If you wanna get the best deal, shop around. It is almost impossible to finder BBR sell the same stuffs for cheaper price. I meant Yorkville, it is what it is. I bet they even sell hot dogs at a higher price tag. The reasons why you wanna go the are the top-notch service and great selections. This is probably the only high-end audio store in Toronto. The selections of speakers, headphones, receiver and all those goodies. Range from commonly know brand names to ultra high end !@#$. However, all those audio video equipments are more or less towards the consumer/leisure market. If you are an artists looking for pro equipments, I think Steve's and Moog are better choices. The service is excellent. I especially adore the fact that you can try headphones and earphones in store. Different people have different taste and preferences. No matter what people are saying about a product , reading reviews online is just not gonna cut it. There is also a huge audition room where you can get blasted by 10000 dollars speakers. The staffs are extremely knowledgeable and informative, friendly and efficient. Warranty is another thing worth mentioning here. No matter what you buy, they will record your info so if it ever breaks down within the warranty period, you can always drop if off and they will take care of everything for you. You will get a new replacement in no time. I tried once even without the receipt. No need to dig through boxes of mess, calling manufacture custom service and ship it back. The only draw back is that it is pricey, but you get what you pay for. You get 2 hrs free parking if you make a purchase.(it is $ 25 minimum, I think you can count with one hand that how many products they sell are under 25 bucks, lol)
