Bay Lodge Denham

I was very impressed with my stay here. The room was clean, comfortable, and functional, with a full kitchen that made it easy to cook proper meals. Everything worked as it should. The management were down-to-earth, helpful people who clearly care about their guests. Excellent value overall — highly recommended.

Location is fantastic! Right on the beach and in the Denham city center (don’t expect too much because it’s a tiny tiny village). Rooms were basic but had all the amenities. Cleanliness not spotless but very much in order. Self check-in and check-out worked fine. Would have been 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if there weren’t big cockroach in our kitchen. But then again people - it’s a super cheap place so what can one expect. All in all we had a blast here.

Unprofessional Handling of Issues During Our Stay! We stayed for 2 nights as a large group (9 families, 9 apartments) - mix of pool side and beach front apartments. It was a late check-in, and by the time we settled in and started preparing dinner, one of the unit’s gas cookers wasn’t working. When we asked the owner to check it, he was uncooperative and told us to leave if we weren’t happy. This situation escalated quickly — he even threatened to cancel the booking for all 9 apartments . The matter was handled very poorly and unprofessionally, which was quite disappointing. As we were a large group, the kids were playing outside in the evening. Around 9 pm, the owner came and told everyone to go inside, even though the quiet hours were clearly listed as starting from 11 pm. On the positive side, the rooms were generally clean, but the bed linen had visible stains and the towels were black, which didn’t feel very hygienic. The bathrooms were average, and the showers had poor drainage. Overall, this place might not be suitable for large groups, especially those with young children.

Rude owner and poor facilities Very disappointing stay. The gas on the cooker finished at night, and when we asked for help, the owner said he couldn’t do anything and told us to leave if we weren’t happy. He claimed this was in the “terms and conditions,” but there were none on the website. The bathroom flooded every time we showered because there was no proper drain, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. Wi-Fi coverage was extremely weak, and Netflix stopped working after 10 pm. The owner’s attitude was rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Who doesn't love being over the road from the beach? Room was perfect for this couple with no kids, easy walk to shops etc (about 1km to other end of town) and the facilities neat and tidy. A bit dated, but matter not a bit to us as just a place to sleep when not out exploring which we did a lot of. Gateway to incredible wildlife and scenery. Emu's kangaroos goats eagles echidna lizards snakes..... And that's just the stuff on the land Rays, sharks, fish, dugongs, squid, cockles, oysters, hermit and ghost crabs. 😍. ( No whales this time, but wasn't really looking)

It was one of our best stays with the best beach view and value for money comfortable stay. Easy check in and check out .Wonderful hosts who took the efforts to give back our ear pods we left behind. Amazing a memorable stay though short it was worthwhile!! Thank you!!

I have just spent 2 nights at this place ☹️ It needs a lot of work 🫣 The best thing about it was the location. Pillows are so old they have no filling. Bedding also very old and worn. Place was tidy and kind of clean. After coming back from an outing we were faced with a ladder in the middle of the unit, workmen had been and were still doing some cabling installation, therefore we didn't have access/privacy to our room. There was no warning or explanation from the owner about this happening. When questioned he became very angry and uncooperative. He said that in his terms and conditions it states he can access the unit at anytime without having to notify us. We scanned the terms and conditions and could not find anything about this. We asked him to show us where it says this and he refused. We asked for a 10am check out (their required check is 9am. If late a $50.00 debit would be taken from our cc) in lieu of the afternoon interruption to our room, we were given a flat NO. Do yourselves a favour find somewhere else to stay in Denham.

We had a room with an ocean view. That was the best part. The staff when we saw them were friendly, but the reception was not manned. So it was a bit confusing for people. There was no message to look at the letter on the door and the numbers weren't in order.
