Bay of Islands Coastal Park is one of the most stunning yet underrated sections of Victoria’s coastline. Often compared to the Twelve Apostles but far quieter, this area offers dramatic limestone formations, rugged cliffs, and endless views of the Southern Ocean without the crowds. Each lookout reveals a different perspective—towering rock stacks, secluded beaches, and powerful waves crashing against the coast. The drive through the park itself is scenic and peaceful, making every stop feel special. The walking tracks are short and easy, suitable for families, while still providing excellent viewpoints for photography and nature lovers. The raw beauty here feels untouched and authentic, allowing you to truly connect with the landscape. Sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful, with golden light reflecting off the cliffs and ocean. If you enjoy calm, scenic places with breathtaking views and fewer tourists, Bay of Islands Coastal Park is an absolute must-visit along the Great Ocean Road.

This is a must stop if you are traveling around Great Ocean Road. It's quiet, and yet a beautiful spot. I like the view better here than at the twelve apostles, because it won't take a long walk, easy parking, and awesome scenery.

We visited the Bay of Islands during the Christmas holidays, and it was easily one of the highlights of our Great Ocean Road trip! ​If you are looking for stunning views and unique rock formations without the overwhelming crowds of the Twelve Apostles, this is the place to go. Even during the peak holiday season, it felt significantly less crowded, allowing us to actually enjoy the scenery in peace. ​Highlights: ​Accessibility: The walk from the car park is very short and easy—great if you don’t want a long hike to see the views. ​The Scenery: The limestone stacks and turquoise water are breathtaking. The weather was perfect during our visit, and surprisingly, there were not many flies, which made the experience much more comfortable. ​Photography: Excellent spots for photos without other tourists constantly in your frame. ​Good to Know: ​Facilities: Keep in mind there are no toilet facilities at this specific lookout, so plan your stops accordingly at nearby towns like Peterborough or Port Campbell. ​Definitely a "must-see" stop if you're driving the Great Ocean Road. It’s a serene, beautiful alternative to the more famous spots nearby!

Was here last week driving the long way from Adelaide to Melbourne via the great Ocean Road. Cold blustery afternoon, with a sprinkling of rain didn't stop the local tiger snake popping out and wriggle by... certainly made the heart jump a beat. Great views across the bay.

Another “low-effort” viewpoint with just a short walk from the car park. The rock formations are beautiful, although smaller in scale and not as tall as the Twelve Apostles. I think it is more photogenic than The Martyrs. A lovely stop and definitely worth checking out.

Stunning natural view ! Probably in next few year much visited places than 12 apostles

Great view and the wind and sound can surely ease your mind! Come to see this if you drive through the great ocean road.

I loved this place. It was a cloudy and freezing day, maybe that's why it wasn't busy, and perhaps with the sun it looks even better
