Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest kindness. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. Now, the food—wow! Every bite was a masterpiece, fresh and bursting with flavor. Their sushi is truly to die for! If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Very quick service. Very quiet and comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Katsu lunch box and a Taro milk tea. The food and tea were delicious and the food was very appealing. Awesome experience!

A pretty standard takeout quality (not bad quality but not great) sushi place. I vacillated between 3 and 4 stars. I ultimately gave them 4 because the people there are working very hard. I ate in the restaurant during a Friday night. Inside was not that busy, but there are expectedly a lot of takeout orders. Since it's a small staff, service was very slow. They were friendly, but I got the impression takeout is probably the majority of their business. I would eat there again, but mostly out of convenience, not a place I would drive miles for.

The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare primarily Japanese cuisine. I ordered two bento boxes. The salmon teriyaki bento box consisted of a generous portion of salmon. The sushi and sashimi bento box consisted of four pieces of sushi and several pieces of sashimi. Each bento box included white rice sprinkled with sesame seeds and served on the side. The boxes also included seaweed salad, three spring rolls, three shumai and a California roll. The tai sui soup was tasty and was prepared with thin noodles, chicken and vegetables. Friendly and helpful staff.

Went to eat here for a date night. It was a Friday and when we saw an empty restaurant, we should have know better. The restaurant had no air conditioning and smelled like a fish market. We decided to order takeout out. We were hoping for the best but were sadly disappointed. Sushi was dry, no sauce and had a strange taste. Kani salad had no flavor / free California roll was overly salty. Will not return here / just not good

Nice location. Small and quaint. However the prices are a bit high for the quality of food. My local sushi place is still my favorite for bargain sushi that is still fresh. This place charges double the price for the same taste. Service started out great, but took us 10 minutes to even get the check.

Don’t miss out on the house special, Rose Salad! It is so flavorful and delicious, definitely my favorite. Cozy ambience and nice people.

Not coming back. Place is outdated including the fading little menu stand on the table. Place is not lively and makes me fall asleep. Dining area is so close to the kitchen. You will hear the guy cooking making a lot of noise. Food does not taste and looks very discolored.

This is a solid family owned neighborhood sushi restaurant! Food is always fresh and tasty. The sushi platters are a hit at parties or gatherings. Service is friendly and excellent. Vibe is cozy and quiet. Definitely stop in if you are in the area.

Best Sushi in BayRidge for sure. Great for dining in or takeout. The restaurant is small but never packed so they are always aware if you need something. Pricing is very good for sushi and they give free dishes if you have a big order. Always very nice staff. Been going here for years and never a bad experience!!!

They do quite a busy takeout. If you can pu do so. If not, allow for delivery time. Food is excellent, fun choices.

Very good. We started trying this when I saw the different items on the menu. My hubby loves the tuna collar and I love ordering the lunch specials. Very good go to sushi.

My husband and I love coming to Bay Sushi. The service is attentive and the sushi is fresh and high quality. Don't sleep on their lunch specials! They're such a great value.

The food was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was great and comfortable - the lights were dimmed and created a romantic, calming atmosphere. Very optimal for digestion lol. The service was lovely - genuinely kind and courteous and was there with us every step of the way to ensure that we were satisfied with this service and the food. 10/10 experience, would definitely eat here again.

The sushi is so fresh and delicious! The staff is friendly and very hard working! They are kind people! This place is cozy and very clean. I love coming to this establishment.

Last night I ordered this to my workplace and it was nice and fresh! The wait time for this restaurant's delivery is INSANE too! On seamless and Yelp, the app claims that it will take ~1hr to deliver but it's always wrong! Bay Sushi has always delivered my food in HALF the time! On top of that, the sushi itself is very fresh and doesn't taste stale at all, very supple, and is NOTHING like Bay Ridge Sushi(drier and has an odd texture and smell). Today I went to the city and had a salmon ikurabowl that was also $19 and compared to the chiraishi dinner, it was sad, under seasoned, and skimped out on the rice and fish. Bay Sushi has definitely made my standards for sushi higher. The most affordable yet quality sushi restaurant I've ever went to with the best service to boot!

I have come to bay sushi many times and they have never disappointed. There is a large selection of different rolls to choose from and all the fish used seem to be really good. I have not had any issues dining in or ordering for take out.

Ordered delivery ams it was so Delicious!! Arrived fresh and the order was correct The best Philly roll I've ever had The tuna appetizer was amazing ! Def will order from them again Oh and the mushroom soup was great , as well as the Thai iced tea

We made a date night, and finally after the pandemic and booking a babysitter, we were able to have a nice dine-in dinner together on a Friday early evening, with cocktails! Their sake-tini is delicious, and instead of olives, we got lychees, which are a great pairing. Definitely would recommend trying if you didn't think twice about getting a drink with dinner at a casual sushi place like Bay Sushi. There's something comforting about the place, and that's what makes us keep coming back time and time again. We ordered their tuna dumplings, which are literally like little tuna sushi bombs with avocado, kani, and other goodies inside. They are addicting, but pricey; worth getting if you are celebrating like we were. Next, we ordered a bunch of hand rolls, since getting hand rolls for delivery never tastes the same as getting them delivered right to your table! I ordered a spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy kani, and spicy yellow tail. I also ordered a few sushi pieces for the heck of it, and man - it was so good! Although they were swamped with delivery and walk-in orders to-go, they truly tried to make the dine-in customers a priority, which I appreciate, especially with the small staff that they have. Fresh sushi, fresh ingredients, and the place is always clean and welcoming. So happy Bay Sushi survived the pandemic because this place is a pure staple to the area!

Excellent sushi. I'm so glad they're finally open for take out and delivery again. Its usually not packed when I used to visit there before covid, but they did a crazy amount of delivery. The fish always tasted fresh when I went. I think it might be a husband and wife team that's running it, which frankly is adorable. Get the dragon and new york rolls. They are spectacular! 5 stars. Also, the ginger salad dressing is AMAZING. I get the salad free usually with the set meals and the ginger dressing is unlike any of the other ones I've ever had. Seriously, I would go just for the salad. I need to ask the owner if it is house made next time I go.

There's no shortage of sushi places in Bay Ridge but Bay Sushi is definitely in my top 3. Their fish is always so fresh, rice is perfectly cooked and their ginger is perfectly pickled. The service is very friendly and fairly quick. We've ordered out and dined in and both were equally excellent. They are also very reasonably priced, with great lunch specials that come with 2, or 3 rolls, plus soup and a salad. I've trued various rolls, specialty and basic, and they're all equally fresh, well prepared and delicious. I highly recommend Bay Sushi for when that sashimi craving hits.

What a little gem this place is! I run along the water often and always passed by with much curiosity. It's a small mom and pop joint that is quaint, quiet, and small, but still packs a punch. Their sushi lunch special is THE BEST I've seen for sushi. I normally skip this part of the menu since most places only offer a handful of overdone rolls I have no interest in and a teriyaki. They have a 2-roll and 3-roll lunch special with at least 10 different options, totaling less than $15 and IT IS A STEAL. Everything was bomb. Loving that I can get a variety of sushi without spending $15 for a single roll. Also had their veggie gyoza which was yummy and fresh too. Service is very nice.

I think this is best sushi in Bayridge. Temperature of the fish was just right, sushi rice was fresh, and every bite gave me a memorable savory taste which melted in my mouth.

Picked an order up to go this past Friday July 17th Boy do I love this place, definitely the best I've had in bay ridge/dyker. Now, for sure i haven't tried every one out here, and quite frankly never will with this place around Got the sushi sashimi combo for 2, seafood soup, and an amazing coconut shrimp roll. Give these guys a shot, super fresh, quality ingredients prepared perfectly, enjoy!!

Best sushi in bay ridge. I love their lunch special which is a good deal. And their peanut avocado roll is YUM.

The food was amazing, glad that they are open for take out and delivery! The fish tasted as good as eating in. Fish was fresh as always! I've been coming here for the past 3 years! My go to spot! I recommend getting the sushi sashimi combo for 2!

Very happy to see they reopened again. This has been a monthly visit for me for two years since it is super close, and their quality is as I remember it. Sadly will be moving soon and won't get to enjoy this anymore, but going to make the most of it while I can - the couple who run this place has always been nice and I've never had a problem. Here's to hoping they get back on their feet and continue making quality soosh through all this.

This place is awful. Fish is small and disgusting. Whoever gave it more than 1 star rating must have no tastebuds left or whatever they did have covid killed. Dishes are tiny. Wow this place shouldn't exist. Period.

It is a decent Japanese restaurant in Bay Ridge. Compare to other Japanese restaurants that's own by Chinese owner and chefs this place is decent and fresh fish. I order mostly lunch here and sometimes they will do a nice party platter for me. The staff is nice and accommodating and it is small and unassuming which is cool. I like the fact that they are not crazy expensive since some Japanese restaurants around here are a it subpar in quality but not in pricing!! Anyway it is the best around here but if I want more authentic Japanese I would go to the city.

What I like about Bay Sushi is that their food is always consistent. Food is always delish and fresh tasting. It is my go to sushi place.

I have been coming to Bay Sushi since they first opened 15 years ago and I have always been satisfied and happy with the food/pricing. This is a regular No frills Japanese sushi spot. The food is fresh, yummy, and always consistent. The staff that works here has been here since day 1 and are friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

Sushi & service are excellent. We usually do take out & delivery from them & it's always great but decided to dine in this time. The only criticism I have is of the lighting- it's too dark. They need higher wattage bulbs &/or additional lighting so you can see the menu of great choices! Other than that, I highly recommend Bay Sushi

This place is a gem...it's quiet and it's out of my area. Their sushi is very fresh. It's a small restaurant but I love how everytime I go there, it's either one or two tables and it's peaceful! I don't have to worry about bouncing into a group of people I know from my area then it becomes a party. I like quietness sometimes to enjoy my meal. My favorite roll is the Kenny Roll and the Volcano Roll. The only thing about the area where this restaurant is located, that the parking sucks.

If you're walking around or biking along the Shore Road Promenade, you'd be inclined to go near Owl's Head Park and maybe you'll stumble here accidentally. It's located in a remote area of Bay Ridge and near the last stop of the B64. My friend, Jerry and I were in a mood for sushi and we wanted to try something new other than Bay Ridge Sushi (6914 3rd ave), but we found this place similar in name. It had such nice reviews on Yelp, so we decided to try it out. This is a Chinese family owned establishment, but it's a lot more Americanized. It has an extensive menu and a white board to display highlights or newly created appetizers/rolls. Most of the prices are comparable to Omiya, but debatable in quality. I don't expect much in local sushi restaurants as long as the fish is fresh and whatever is cooked tastily, I'd be fine than to expect quality of an actual authentic Japanese restaurant. Many people come here around the afternoon - evening where it's always seemingly quiet, but tables are small and chairs are comfortable. Sometimes you have people that do the call in for take outs and occasional pick ups. I think I most enjoyed the fried ice cream because it had a hefty amount of whipped cream and it was really nicely tempura-ed. Anyway, I usually come here for a salmon seaweed salad because it has nice chunks of salmon cuts into the salad. It's a bit spicy, but it's good. There are some sesame seeds on top though. If you enjoy walking around and sitting down for an occasional light meal near the piers, it's a good stop to come here. It's also around the corner from Owl's Head Park, so it's nice to sit down after a jog or a bike.

Was looking for an alternative to my favorite sushi spot because they were closed. Tried this spot not knowing how it would turn out, it was amazing. Good quality seaweed and rice. This may be biased because they gave me a free California roll

Stopped by for lunch around 1:30 PM on a saturday and restaurant was empty. We were thinking in our heads that it might not be a good sign but we still decided to eat here because there were no other restaurants close by and we were tired. We had their agedashi tofu, chicken teriyaki lunch box, the lunch special rolls of spicy tuna roll, salmon tempura, and the eel roll with avocado. The tofu was pretty good but the sauce it came with didn't taste as good as some of the other places I have been to. The lunch box was good for the price. Included a lot of items like shumai, spring rolls california roll and white rice. The chicken was tasty and not dry. The california roll was better than average and fresh. The special rolls all came out ok and was really fresh. The salads that came with our entree was a generous portion with a proportional amount of dressing. Hate it when other places give you so little dressing that when you are halfway through the salad and no dressing is left. This small little sushi restaurant exceeded our expectations. Service was good and food quality is good for the price you are paying.

I am impressed, Bay Sushi was definitely epic. Not only was I impressed with the ambience and the atmosphere, but the food and service were great too! I am very happy that we bought Shrimp Tempura, this was one of their very best dishes, extremely flavorful and delicious. The employees are all extremely nice and welcoming. Thank you! Not the best sushi place and hella expensive too. The workers are rude and stupid. The fish gave me diarrhea. At least the bathrooms are semi-clean. The cups are okay. They are a bit dirty. The waiters do try to push soda onto you. If you say no, they give snarky remarks and do fill you up with water heavily so you don't eat a lot of sushi.

Big menu selection and Quick service. Awesome lunch deals, Bogo and lunch trays. Great for group outings because they have some long tables. I always get their sweet potato sushi and shrimp tempura.

Having eaten sushi in many fancy places around New York city i have yet to come across such a place. The sushi was very fresh and well presented. The prices are so low and the staff is really nice. The restaurant is very pleasant and the food is served very quickly. I've also ordered delivery a couple times and they're pretty timely.

Is about a block-and-a-half from the brand new NYC Ferry terminal at Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, so I expect that it is going to get busier real soon now. Summary: mom-and-pop sushi made on premises by two young Japanese men who work very fast. My wife commented this is one of the few sushi places in NYC that the cross-section of fish in the sushi was bigger than the rice cross-section (yeah, she is a scientist). It is also the first sushi place I could not finish the deluxe $10 pick-three-pieces of sushi, sashimi or special roll plate. Wasabi was Nipponese magma, Miso was much better than usual with a complicated flavor of a better than average nori. Since the total NYC ferry fare from Pier 11/Wall Street to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is $2.75 with a hour seated deck view of the skylines of New York, New Jersey, Brooklyn and the Statue of Liberty, this is going to be hot, hot, hot this summer. While my Buddhist master might say "Be here now!" I would modify this to say "Be there now--or miss out!"

This is a very nice family sushi restaurant. They have very good sushi that is much better than what you'll see from a cheap sushi buffet. I will definitely come again.

Superior sushi joint in Bay Ridge. The sushi here is presented with the philosophy that if the fish is very fresh, it can be served slightly closer to room-temperature-- so as to offer more flavor. Other places serve their sushi colder because they're not providing as fresh ingredients as they possibly can. Anyway, you have to be a true fan of sushi to handle this more professional treatment of the dishes. Other: portions are large; prices are fair; service is attentive; decor and location are great. Intimate and romantic dining. Excellent sake as well. And, they deliver.
