I was a bit nervous booking this B&B for me, my mother, and 2 daughters having read some of the negative reviews about staff. But we had the most amazing experience here at the Bayerischer Hot in Ingolstadt, and I am so glad I made my reservation with them. My mother was born in Ingolstadt, and had not been back for 40 years. She is also in her late 70's, so I needed to have a location in town so the walking would be manageable. Plus she wanted to be close to the Danube, where she played as a child, which is a quick walk away from the hotel. ||||We stayed in 2 rooms which were both very clean, contemporary/modern, and the beds were very comfortable. My mother and I both have back problems, and I didn't expect to sleep as well as I did. The beds were comfortable. We had a shower in our bathroom that had excellent water pressure and a towel heater that was a fun perk! My daughter loved reading on the cute window seat, and watching the activity of the streets down below. The Wifi service worked well for us in both rooms at any time of day. I know this for a fact because my daughters use Messenger all the time, and never complained about it not working. The rooms were clean and offer plenty of space.||||The breakfast was one of our favorite things about this B&B. The pastry is made from scratch. The eggs are boiled to perfection and are super fresh. My mother loved the German cold cuts that were tasty and always restocked. I loved the fresh yogurt and toppings offered. Hot coffee, tea, and cappuccino is served, and the owner Elisabeth was kind and informative when we asked questions about the village. The location of this B&B is right next to the Danube at the entrance to Ingolstadt. We enjoyed walking the streets of Ingolstadt, knowing that our hotel is close by. We rarely used our rental car, which we parked for free in the small lot of the hotel. One thing about parking.... parking is horrible in Ingolstadt regardless of what hotel you stay in. If you come to the hotel after 5pm, you may not get a spot in the free parking lot of the hotel. But if it is full, there is a big lot not too far from the hotel that you can park at for a reasonable cost. Since we didn't drive too far from the village, this didn't affect us as much.||||I know a lot of people say the staff is rude, but that was NOT our experience. They were helpful, kind, and went out of their way to meet our needs. It helped that my mother spoke Bavarian. I think a lot of these negative reviews have to do with not being able to speak the language, and things getting lost in translation. ||||I hope to visit Bayerischer Hof again!
