Very good food. Family oriented. Good service. Best to go at a slow time, they get very busy. Portions were huge. The portabella's are the bomb. Brisket is great. Pork steaks are great.

A must-stop for me when I'm near Ironton, MO. The BBQ is remarkable, the best prepared fried okra you can get in the area and their pork steak is the best I've ever had. Great value and friendly service as well. An all-around winner!

Amazing bbq and excellent sweet cherry sauce. Food was amazing. The staff friendly jalapeno cornbread topped with pulled pork is a must appetizer. Can't go wrong with this place. Great job... I'll be back again! Kaylee Jo's cherry glaze would be plenty of excuse on its own to head to the hills!!!

Holy moly! Never had fried corn but it's about to be served in this house weekly😋 my mom had the bbq cornbread. I tried it so moist and kinda spicy. I wasn't a huge fan of the bbq tater but that's my fault for missing the nacho cheese in the description. My son loved the cherry bbq sauce on his pork steak.

The food here was so good! We all ordered the Ribeye steak meal. Cooked to perfection! Side portions were big as well as the drink sizes. We bought a few bottles of their famous BBQ sauce also, Hickory and Spicy. Price to plate size was worth it! Their Ribeye was not some pressed meat, one size fist all. It was a real ribeye. Owner said their meat comes from the local area. Definitely will be back! Service was great as well as the atmosphere. They offer a large menu of appetizers, dinners, sides, sandwiches and so on. We truly didn’t expect it to be so good and plentiful.

The food was delicious. I like that they have several different BBQ sauces to choose from. My favorite is the cherry one. Their fries are some of the best. Great atmosphere. The staff did an excellent job.

We stopped in for a late lunch and had an amazing meal. My husband and I both ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with different sides. There was so much meat on these ribs I could only eat 3 ! My husband loved their Brussel sprouts and green beans. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich and it had lots of delicious meat on it. Our waitress was very friendly and was very attentive. My only complaint would be that they get bigger butter tubs for their baked potato. They were very tiny tubs with a big potato (had to ask for extra and extra !) if we are this way in future we will definitely stop by again !

Two stars because the service was good. The food, not so much. What happened here, this place used to be excellent. This time I got a pork steak, catfish, and brisket. The pork steak was over smoked or who knows what, dried out and not good. The brisket was so dry, it fell apart but was like eating thick cut cardboard. That texture you get when you lave a roast in the crockpot a few days too long. The catfish was so rubbery it almost made a squeaking noise against your teeth when you bite into it. My Aunt & Uncle had warned me about it before I went here and I should have listened. Not sure if they have new owners or what but...

Great service, nice ambiance and OHHH the FOOOOD!!! We both had the 1/2 pork steak, and it was the best pork steak I have ever had, bar none. Wish I lived closer! The fried okra and green beans were good also. I saw an order of mushrooms and they looked awesome!! So glad we stopped here!

Every meal we've ordered has been delicious. The servers are friendly and attentive. Food comes out quickly, hot, and fresh. The decor is fun-lots of pig decorations, and a partial canoe on the wall! We love eating here, it's worth the 100 mile drive!

The BBQ pork steak is delicious! The brisket is hit or miss but mostly good. The mushrooms are to die for! Their homemade sauce is delicious. (Especially the cherry) The service is great! The only problem is that they do run out of items quite often. The prices are good.

A regular stop for us but the quality of the food seems to diminished since our last visit. The fish wasn't good at all. However the BBQ was as good as ever.

All I can say is wow! They could give Texans a lesson on smoking Brisket! The best this cowboy has ever had. The BBQ Cornbread is awesome! My wife had the pork steak and was fork tender! The house salad cant be beat!

My sister and I took a weekend camping trip to Johnson's Shut-Ins and wanted to get something to eat before we headed home on a 3-hour drive and Ironton seemed like the best shot at a good sit-down restaurant. So we took the little drive and ohhh my god was it worth it. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's got the rustic smokehouse vibes inside and you get to seat yourself (always a bonus for me). Our server, Caitlyn, was so nice and got us everything we wanted before we even mentioned it to her. I got a strawberry lemonade and my sister got sweet tea. She likes her sweet tea super sweet, so she added some sugar, but the flavor was good. I ended up buying a half gallon of the strawberry lemonade to take home. We ordered the fried mushrooms and onion petals as appetizers and had enough left over that we got a whole box for them even after we ate half of each. I got a full rack of ribs and they were amazing. The meat was tender and they didn't over- or under-season. They had 3 kinds of barbecue sauce-- original, cherry, and spicy-- and a cherry glaze, which had a thinner consistency. I was a huge fan of the cherry glaze. For sides, I got the fried corn on the cob and a baked potato. I enjoyed both, and I'd never seen the first before, but it was just well-cooked corn on the cob with a yummy corn-meal breading. My sister got the fried fish and she says it was buttery, flaky, and delicious. She got fried okra and coleslaw for her sides and said they were both perfect! She also wanted me to mention that they do not skimp on the sauces. TLDR: It's a fantastic little restaurant where I'm sure anything you order will be delicious.

On a vacation with a few friends, we stayed in the area for one night and ate at Baylee Jo's when we first arrived in town. We were all so impressed that we delayed leaving town the following day to eat here again. I had the ribs and brisket, both were very tasty. The true star of the show was the pork steak however. I've eaten a lot of pork steaks in my life, but never before have I had one so juicy and tender. Fried corn on the cob and fried okra delivered as well. Service was better than typical at a quality BBQ joint, with a great waitstaff. Inside was clean, bright and offered plenty of space at lunch time.

Best cooked (smoked, crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside) and tastiest (house-made and delicious glaze) chicken wing I've had in years. Wonderful, meaty, fall-off-the-bone ribs. Moist and flavorful jalapeño cornbread, with exactly the right touch of heat. Delicious cucumber salad with perfect Japanese-y dressing. Staff are friendly and efficient and really, really good at what they do. Set in the heart of the prettiest part of Missouri. Worth the drive from St. Louis or Memphis? Absolutely!

Chicken and shrimp was good. Big portion of Brisket that was on the dry side but the flavor was very good. Cucumber salad really good, slaw good too. We got pickup and they forgot my salad which pissed me off. I would go again, but avoid the brisket and make sure my order was packed correctly. Original I gave 3 stars because i didn't get my salad, but overall, the food was really good so I changed it to 4 stars.

A trip to Arcadia Valley is never wasted when you can stop for a meal at Baylee Jo's BBQ! It's always a tough decision and I always regret not getting the prime rib or brisket when I get something different. Don't worry. You can't go wrong.

1-16-21: Baylee Jo's is an EXCELLENT BBQ joint. The staff are incredibly friendly and the BBQ is delicious and reasonably priced. We did carry out and were really impressed with the pulled pork sandwiches. Ask for the Texass toast and make sure it's roadster well for an enjoyable pulled pork experience. The Potato Skins are also an excellent choice too. Huge taters cooked perfectly and loaded up. Five Stars! Would like to dine inside next visit to get give five stars for a great beer selection.

Amazing BBQ! We got one of the combination plates (brisket + ribs with coleslaw and potato salad for sides) as well as the loaded baked potato. Both were absolutely delicious!! Their prices were also quite reasonable, and I would have happily paid more for such a quality meal.

Food was awesome! The smoked cherry ribs and the cherry glaze. The server was helpful and attentive.

Baylee Jo's BBQ serve some of the best Catfish I ever had In the past, anywhere in the Country! The dust the Catfish very delicate and just enough so it would not alter the natural flavor. Any who need to watch their cab's will really appreciate that Menu they serve! Last but not least, there is always a good atmosphere and very friendly and efficient service around you! If there would be a six star rating, I would not hesitate to give it to them! Keep up the good work! Werner

Wow! Simply stunning spot for all things fried and bbq'd. I've driven by here at least 10 times in the past 3 years on the way to and from the gorgeous geographical features of the region. I always say I'll stop in next time and tonight I finally did. Now I know this is a BBQ place, but looking around at the other patrons plates and seeing a lot of fried chicken I simply had to have some. That being said I ordered the pick 3 meats: fried chicken, fried fish, and fried shrimp, with crispy fries and fried portobello mushrooms. A lot of fried food I know, but it was stunning! The shrimp were simply perfect, the chicken was juicy and crispy (but I would have preferred a bit more heat in the seasoning) and the fish was delicate and delicious. I will point out that the waitress claimed the fish was catfish however it was definitely not. Was it delicious? Yes! But it wasn't what I thought I was getting. Moving on to the fries they were definitely crispy and were of the battered and seasoned variety (a personal favorite) and finally the fried portobellos were possibly the best I've ever had, albeit a little on the greasy side. In summary, the food was excellent and I will definitely be back again! For me this will be our go-to place anytime I/we venture in to the area. In fact I look forward to trying the bbq as well as exploring more of the menu offerings next trip out. If your looking for good food in the Arcadia Valley, look no further than Baylee Jo's!

Wonderful meal and service. After a day of rafting we were looking for a good meal. Prime rib and crab legs. Kids had grilled cheese and carrot cake for desert. 8 full tired people. Highly recommend

Pretty ordinary meal here. Stake was cut thin and overdone. Ribs were very much on the so so side--kinda tough and not that fall-off-the-bone one expects. Check was wrong, but in my favor (which I had corrected).

Came here after a hike in Taum Sauk Mountain State Park. Our hosts recommended it to us, and said it was probably the best place around the area to eat. My wife, a friend, and I decided to sit in the patio due to the smoking section inside. (I actually didn't know they still had smoking sections in restaurants in Missouri.) The weather was nice, so the patio was very comfortable. The service was a little on the slow side, but our waitress was nice and helpful when it came to the menu items. My wife and I started with "Chris's Famous Grilled Asaparagus" and split 6 baby back ribs with a "The Big T" as our side. "The Big T" being essentially a huge baked potato. Being a person that normally doesn't eat or like asparagus, the asparagus was pretty good. A little on the oily side, but I had more than one piece! My favorite was the baby back ribs, which were tender and nicely flavored. The sides were okay. Would probably be back if we were around the area again.

This place for me was just meh. Nothing to special, but if you're in the area and are looking for a place for dinner, this will work for most people. The menu is extremely extensive so you are guaranteed to find at least something you like. They work pretty well with dietary restrictions. Although the food was alright, it took forever to come out. Please take this comment with a grain of salt as being hungry makes me more impatient. Another thing I would warn patrons about this place would be to avoid sitting in one of the back tables towards the kitchen. Sometimes the plates pile up and you end up sitting next to a pile of dirty dishes for a while at a time. While the food was alright, the sauce (for me) was definitely the highlight. If you like your BBQ sweet, their cherry BBQ sauce was simply the bomb. Although the cherry one was pretty good, my favorite though was their spicy one - well balanced. All in all, this place is a decent stop if you're looking for food near the area, but it's not one of the places I would want to keep coming back to over and over again.

My wife and I ate there today 1/30/2020. We didn't know what to expect being this was our first time there. She ordered a one meat dinner and I ordered a two meat dinner. The food tasted great, the portions were huge, and the service was quick. What else could you ask for? We'll be going back, but ordering less.

Great BBQ and lots of side selections. Something for everyone. Floated the Black River and ate here twice. We stayed at the motel next to Baylee Jo's. The margarita was great, and so was the mojito. Fried mushrooms were very good and large portions. Definitely recommend eating here.

Showed up to get my order 15 minutes after the time they gave me and then had to wait another 30 because they didn't hav my food ready because it was "packed" with 3 tables of people.

I have been eating here for years and it never fails. The food is always amazing, no matter what I get. I drive from Knob Lick just to eat here, and it's always worth it. My favorite meal is the shrimp dinner, with fries and a dessert. Everything is done perfectly and the food comes out fast. The staff is always so nice and attentive, and the place is always spotless. There's always a good atmosphere too, with music playing and the occasional live band. Love it here, I recommend it to everyone!

We were able to dine in or they offered carry out. Delicious BBQ, big servings. Staff was all friendly and attentive. This was our first trip here and if we ever come down this way again, we would consider it.

I like the food there that's why I gave it a 5 but they were very unkind to my sister who is a 16-year-old looking for jobs to keep and job worker lady is not very nice to my family my mother and two other people this is a good place to eat but it is not a very good place to work

Really good food - definitely recommend the fish sandwich. It's kinda like a much much better McDonald's fish filet ribs and wings were good too

The service was really friendly but a bit on the slow side considering there weren't that many people the day I went. I thought the grilled asparagus was tasty, but maybe because I was hungry from hiking 6 miles prior to that! The ribs were pretty good, not too tough. To be honest, my expectations weren't that high because it's a small town, but they were decent. The sauces weren't anything special, but that was okay with me. Prices here were decent. I got full from my meal and felt like the pricing was pretty fair. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if I was in the area again and was craving some bbq, I wouldn't be opposed to coming again. Not bad!

I think it's the only restaurant in town but glad we stopped. Very good food and a full bar.

Came here on a Monday afternoon. It took us 45 minutes to get our food!!!! Kitchen and service staff seemed to lack coordination and there was a lot of confusion going on. When we finally got our food the pulled pork and beef brisket was way too dry and the chicken was over cooked. The BBQ sauce is nothing special. Overall the food was okay, nothing too special.

On Sunday in the Arcadia Valley - you've no other choice. I'd say wait, go to Caledonia BBQ Company instead. Or, drive into Farmington. This used to be a great place and a great value but the portions keep getting smaller and the price went up. Ribs are good but not great. though some in our party liked them as much as Bandana's in St. Louis. Sweetie had a half portion which included 3, count 'em three asparagus spears which were good but seriously ..... 3? Our group decided since it's Baylee Jo's or Subway we'd do this place. Next time, I'll go on to Caledonia without hesitation. Groups? Service was woefully slow.

Great food. Service was pretty good for a busy night! The grilled shrimp is probably the best I've had, better or equal to the shrimp I've had in New Orleans. The owner was friendly and the home made pie was to die for. If you're a BBQ connoisseur definitely try their spicy BBQ sauce. It was so great I had to buy some for home. I'll definitely visit there again!

I'm kind of stumped by the good reviews of this place. My parents live in Arcadia so I've got some background on this place. When it first opened, we went a few times & it was actually not bad (this was at least 5 years ago). Then the building burned down a few years ago & they did a good job re-building as it is much nicer now. It is locally owned & the owner really did a good job with it. We have tried eating there at least 3 times since it has re-opened but each time is more disappointing then the next. I've never left there satisfied or full. I've always been disappointed. The barbecue is ok, i've tried the steak sandwich (steam um) & the sides are very poorly done. The service is just ok.

Great BBQ and dessert. You can tell they start with high quality meats, and then smoke them just right. Excellent taste. You wouldn't need sauce, but their spicy sauce makes it even better. The spiral fries and onion petals round out the meal, unless you're up for dessert. We were, and oh my, they were amazing. Coconut creme pie and blackberry cobbler. If you're in this area, do yourself a favor and stop in.

Great place to eat. This second time we've eaten there. We have not been disappointed. My son & I had the Sunday BBQ. Although it was good it's not something I would order again. I guess I just prefer regular BBQ.

Trust me when I say to PLEASE take your business elsewhere. Please stay away. This place has terrible food. Terrible service. And is enshrouded in a terrible atmosphere (the minstrel pieces enshrouded all over the walls felt VERY welcoming *sarcasm*). It's the only restaurant in town, so the bar is on the ground. We left and went to the next town over for food.

This used to be a burger joint when I was growing up that my fam would stop by on the way home from camping or spending the day at the river. Great memories. The new BBQ joint is a great replacement! My daughter had the fried catfish dinner. I had the Baylee Jo Burger with Mac and Cheese. Man, big burger with the fixins and the Mac was fresh and creamy. Father had the Pulled pork sammich and it looked delightful for the short period of time he had it on the table. The nice touch of the pork rinds as a table top appetizer was a first for me. Good job Baylee Jo's! We'll be back!

My favorite place to stop and eat in ironton, mo. The atmosphere is wonderful and their steak and shrimp are ALWAYS AMAZING.

This is my wife and my favorite place in town, especially after a long hike on one of the nearby trails. We haven't had anything we didn't like! The dinner platters are amazing, especially the pork shoulder. Be sure to try each of the BBQ sauces and make sure you get some of the killer fries!

Came in before and food was pretty good. Waitresses are rude but this is actually standard behavior in Missouri. No matter where you go you're not going to be treated like you're welcome, unless you're in the city. Table was dirty. We asked if had been cleaned and she flippantly said yes even though it had lemon seeds and water on it. Waited for about 15 minutes to get our order taken, we had to ask a few times before someone took it. Took 30 mins to get our food and as we were walking out a waitress shouted that our food was ready. She said it was because they were busy, and they were, but I worked in a restaurant on a harbor that was constantly packed and that's not an excuse. Just another her reason why I have to think of the good Lord and not hate Missourians.

Consistently solid choice in the area, with rustic decor and a variety of reasonably priced food, with a specialty of BBQ. Have gone 3-4 times over about as many years. The food is consistently solid. Served a couple days ago was slow and not very intuitive, albeit nice. Don't miss the. Jerry BBQ sauce-yum!

Great BBQ - had a pork shoulder shredded - was awesome stuff but my side order of asparagus was 3 THREE pieces!! Seriously? 4 stars for the food but zero for the skimpy sides. Service is not so good - but that's what you come to expect in the Country.

Hands down the worst dining experience of my life! Two of my daughters and I went there on a Sunday afternoon for a "quick" bite to eat after hiking. It took over 45 minutes to get our food after ordering one pizza and a corn dog. The pizza was nothing but a Jack's frozen pizza doctored up and the corn dog was ice cold. A man came by to ask how things were going (good thing because our server was basically the cashier the whole time we where there) and I told him about the corn dog. He said he would make another one in 6 minutes and when it came out, I asked for a knife to cut it up so it would cool faster and the damn thing was FROZEN!!!!! He blamed it on a new type of corn dog and offered to make something else and I said I wanted to leave. He still made me pay for the pizza too. This man was the manager or owner and he was drenched in sweat. I caught a glimpse at the cook during my over one hour stay and he was wearing a cut off T shirt! I am glad I didn't pick arm pit hair out of our meal. YUCK!! We also left reeking of cigarette smoke and smoked meat. Needless to say, I will NEVER be going back to Baylee Jo's!
