Bayo Canyon Trail

One of the hands down best trails is Los Alamos! This is a loop trail but you can do a nice out and back. From the trailhead I believe its about 2 miles to the finger overlook which is on the North side, its well worth the hike. We took our fatbikes and a dog and had a blast exploring.

Bayo Benchs Loop offers a mix of climbs and flat stretches, welcoming both hikers and bikers. Keep an eye out for mule deer resting in the shaded areas as you set out. Before returning, be sure to follow the short spur trail to the Bayo Canyon overlook, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the canyon, Barranca Mesa, and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Trails are not too bad. Most of the trail is flat. Just another beautiful hike. Great for old people like myself. Parking sucks though. Not enough space and some parking spots with steep slope that can scrape the bottom of your vehicle.

Interesting trail along a bench. Great views into and across the canyon.

These trails are easy to moderate for hiking, running, and biking. Great trails for bird watching and scenic views. Not much parking space is available at trail head. Great area to visit!
