Bayou Joes Marina & Grill

Bayou Joe’s is a whole vibe. 🌊🍽️ The food was great, the service was absolutely phenomenal, and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Sitting by the water with views of the boats just takes it to another level. We had drinks, appetizers, two entrées, and dessert and it was under $100 for two people, which honestly felt like a steal for the experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, great service, and a laid-back waterfront spot you can really enjoy.

We were visiting Panama City and were looking for a seafood restaurant near our location. Bayou Joe's came up and the menu looked appetizing. I was impressed with the flavors and freshness of the food. We had the fried pickles with their homemade ranch, mahi, a salad and crab cakes. Our server was kind and we enjoyed the conversation. It was a rainy day, but there was still a nice view of the marina. We will definitely come back when we visit next time!

Over all I’ll give it a 5 star. However, the fried grouper was over cooked that night. I enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was nice and attentive. I enjoy being able to look over the water. The waiting area was nice but we didn’t have to wait to be seated the day we went which was a Sunday night. The crab cakes were excellent, highly recommend!

Oh my goodness, where do I start? This was one of the best experiences I think I've ever had at a restaurant. 🤩🥳🥰 On 9/12 we boated here for dinner while we were visiting Shell Island. Three of us were in the party, and two of us had never been here. The service was out of this world (I wish I remembered our server's name 😡). I ordered my food, but I couldn't decide on the fish selection. I told her to surprise me. Boy, she made the perfect decision! We had never tasted trigger fish. Yes, it was fried, but let me tell you, it was PERFECT! None of the fried food was greasy or over-breaded. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Then the server brought me a "slice of sunshine" pie and sang Happy Birthday! I wanted to cry. 😢🎂🥳 We can't wait to come here again! 🤩🥳🥰

First time to Bayou Joes and loved everything about it. Jennifer was our server and she was excellent. We had the fried Shrimp-Grouper basket, Crab cake app, house made bacon-cheese chips and key lime pie. We try to go to a different restaurant in PCB area every month. Will be going back here often. really cool caribean vibe on the water and all the entree's are different and look delicious. I would get the fried corn instead of sliced tomatoes as a side.

We shared a fish basket with extra fish added and drunk and ugly for dessert. The portions were small and the extra fish (catfish) was quite dry and tough, probably overdone but the dessert was excellent. Would come back just for that!

If you are disappointed in this hangout, your taster has to be broken. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! It's been a favorite for many years.

Amazing food and fun place to eat dinner rignt on the water. The wait staff anf hostess were amazing.

This spot was very cute! It made us feel like locals. There are boats pulling up to the restaurant, sailboats docked, fish swimming - just a relaxed experience. We got fish sandwiches, burgers and dessert. It was all good! I will say the fries could use a little seasoning, but nothing you can't fix with salt and pepper. I would return - service was good and everyone was so kind. They even give you a piece of double bubble with your check! If you're in the area, I would stop in.

This a really cool little restaurant on the water. We sat on the deck outside and it wasn't hot. The breeze off the water kept us cool. I had a trigger fish sandwich. The fish was delicious. It was really hard to keep the fish on the sandwich so I ate it by itself. It was really well seasoned and juicy. The hush puppies were also awesome. The staff was amazing and we had a lot of fun with her. We fed our leftovers to the fish and birds outside the windows. I highly recommend this little restaurant. It not only had good food but was a lot of fun.

1- Parking. You can park right outside the building structure, reasonable amount of spaces right as you enter the dirt road. 2-Seating and ambiance. The ambiance is centered around the marina, nice, simple salty atmosphere with great views of the sailboats around makes this a unique place to visit. And now the verdict. I ordered the sailor's seafood combo. The Mahi-mahi was fried, thin and hard. I could'n find any special attribute to give it a thumb's up, It was not. Half of the fries needed extra cooking, they were undercooked. The shrimps were small, overcooked and I could feel some spice on them. As a frequent seafood eater I was dissapointed. The service was great, they serve with a grat smile and come to the table often to see if you need znything else. Two stars due to the quality of the food.

Great views. Right in the water. Service was quick and friendly. The fried shrimp was delicious. Just the right amount of breading. Try the spicy margaritas. I've been here 3-4 times. Always a good time.

I really loved the atmosphere of this place. It's cool walking in over the dock to the restaurant. Cute and right on the water. Now, if the food were better I would be rating it higher than 3 stars but nothing we had was very flavorful. It was all just meh. However- the mimosas were really good. So- i'll give it another chance.

Quaint little place in Panama Beach, connected to a marina. Service was great and attentive. Portion is a little small so it's good for lunch I guess. Try the key lime pie, it's very good.

Ambience and service were good! Food terrible! Glorified concession stand. Crinkle fries and fried food. Fish and chips were fish nuggets and frozen crinkle fries. Maybe a tourist trap? Truly only come here for the view.

Staff 5 stars food 5 stars wait time 1 star the ocean is great but it should not take 30min to sit and 30min to feed 6 people 4 kids 2 adults because of this I choose to say that this is a good restaurant (IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT)

Food was terrible. End of story DO NOT eat here tiny portions of fish that were overcooked and bland .this may be the worst seafood we have ever eaten.

Very good food, and at a great price. Nice selection on menu. Only downside, they need either a new manager, or just to hire more wait staff. The waitress we had was excellent.

Came back to this place again after about 4 years still the same great quality and taste 10/10

I really hate to write this but people should know. I've been dining here off and on for over ten years. In that timeframe the food quality has gone downhill drastically. After my latest visit I can say that I will not be dining here again.

Amazing views, calm and laid back. Enjoy a beer, glass of wine or a flavored margarita! Every couple weeks they change up the burger specials and this one was awesome! Great staff, helped me decide from a vast menu.

Bayou Joe's is such a fun little spot! This find made me feel just like a local. It has such a unique atmosphere as it sits right on the water in the middle of the marina. When we arrived for dinner, it was pretty busy, so we had to wait a bit which was fine! They told us it would be about 10 minutes, though it was much longer than that which is what was unfortunate to me. Nonetheless, once we got seated, I loved every minute of our experience! Our server was so kind and knew just what she was doing. I ordered an iced sweet tea which was delicious, as well as an appetizer that was the same. For entrées, we got Crab Cakes & the Surf and Turf! I loved how you got to pick a side with your entrée and you were given bread and a salad as well. We even got dessert which was called Drunk & Ugly Pie! It was delicious. We loved our meal, the service, and the view. We even got to see the catfish swimming in the water, as locals were feeding them right off the seating area! The restaurant was such a yummy, fun, small-town feel.

Bayou Joe's is just alright. So let's do a pros and cons. Pros: The views are cool. The whole restaurant is secluded and is right on the water. The waiting area is also on its own dock/pier and kids will love seeing fish and crabs in the water. They also have a giant janga that you can play and make the time go by. You can feed the fish! Also fun for the kids. Staff was very friendly making sure that we were taken care of and engaging with our children. Dessert was amazing! We got the drunk and ugly and was the highlight of the meal. Cons: Okay so the views are cool because it's on the water, but it looks at a crowded Marina, and there is an ugly apartment complex that is right in your view too. Food, the whole reason you go to a restaurant, is mediocre. It is just fried fish nuggets for the fish and chips. All the fries are what you can get from the Walmart freezer section. The patty melt was just fine, it was a very small portion for the price. The crab cakes were bare minimum. Not very seasoned at all. Not worth going back for. Overall, not terrible but I would not recommend this place to friends.

This hidden gem, should be tried by all. First off you get the view, that is so awesome and relaxing, The service has always been great, and the food stands for its self. The trash omelet's and the burgers are some of the best in town. Also a great Bloody Mary. A must try for everyone, but it's just. a small place so lets not all go at the same time.

I've been to Bayou Joe's twice since I've moved to PCB. Each time has been excellent. The restaurant is very small with very limited tables. We had a party of 6 and was told the wait would be an hour. The wait was only 20 minutes and we were seated. The staff is very friendly and responsive. Our drink and food order was taken quickly. We did wait over 30 minutes after we ordered. The scenery is great and boats pull up and place orders. Be prepared to wait on your food on a busy night. Everyone was pleased with the food and would definitely return. I had the Grouper sandwich blackened. My wife had the Grouper basket. Both were excellent. Others had the Pecan Crusted Grouper and Catfish basket. We topped it off with the Drunk and Ugly dessert which should be shared. Overall, a great experience and will be back.

My food was prepared just like I wanted it. It was delicious. Cathy, my server, was pleasant and did a wonderful job. It is right down on the water and the old part of Panama City and I do recommend it.

Can't say enough good about the whole place. Friendly service , amazing food and drinks, atmosphere and view perfect.

When arriving here, you may think you are in the wrong place, but keep walking and you will find yourself walking by boats, over water, then the small restaurant with spectacular views. Super charming. Staff is over the top nice, food comes out fast and is always delicious. So many good things its hard to decide. Beer, wine, with strange 'wine based' cocktails. The housemade chips are a must!

Beautiful location - the drive out was beautiful. While waiting for your table you sit on the open dock in the bay. Try the Bayou Sunset drink - so good, tastes like a creamsicle. They did have a long wait for the table, but we were there at prime dinner time. We had cheese curds and grit sticks as appetizers - the curds were the best. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the Sailor's Sampler with the shrimp and crab cake, and salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and sweet potato fries. The crab cake was probably the best I've ever had. It did seem like they were behind on everyone's food orders - it took a while to get the actual meals. This was the only negative thing, but we will definitely be coming back!

Good lord the food here was great! The shrimp tacos were so filling and had so much flavor. The servers were nice and fast. Gave you refills without even asking. The ambiance was nice, a good waterfront view and nice weather. 10/10 would eat again

First time trying this restaurant and was honestly disappointed. It took 50 minutes to get our food after placing our order. 50 minutes. We mentioned it to the manager or owner and he ignored our comment about the long wait which was disappointing TWICE. An acknowledgment would have really gone a long way. The waitress mentioned they were down a person. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be coming back again.

The blueberry French toast was delicious. One person in our group had the biscuits & gravy and it was enough for 2 people. Very fun atmosphere

Once was a friendly place to dine. Now that they have a security guard posted half way down the dock, you must have everyone in your party before being allowed past the guard shack! Forget being seated, having a beer or wine as you wait! But it's ok to spend your money once you do make it past the guard shack! Not very friendly or accommodating. This used to be a friendly local spot..... I'll spend my money elsewhere! Most tables seat four and numerous times just my wife and I are seated at a table for four, so what's the harm in seating two as we wait for friends to join us. Missed opportunities!

Outstanding fish sandwiches. Service was awesome. Nice quaint outside dining on the dock. We definitely will be back.

This is a fun waterside restaurant that has amazing hush puppies. The just tots are great and the fish was excellent.

I can't really speak for the food or service inside the restaurant here, but we went to grab breakfast at Bayou Joe's and got there when they opened. There was no hostess at the counter, just a sign that said to wait to be seated. When the hostess came up front she took back two parties that had gotten there before us. After about 20 minutes we decided to leave. After reading so many great reviews I was excited about trying this place, but the wait is too long to be seated on a slow time of day I can only imagine how long it would be during lunch and dinner rush. Maybe I'll give them another chance when I revisit PC.

Had expectations but was highly disappointed. The service was subpar. The food was disappointing. We had to wait over 45 minutes. The manager or owner made no apologies. The server however had stated that they lost a employee and that affected our wait. For just getting most fried food, it doesn't justify the wait. The food was over salted, soggy frozen fries. We bought multiple desserts and ALL were mediocre. Overall this spot is a tourist trap. People dont know to be disappointed. But there has to be better than this.

Our favorite spot for breakfast and brunch. Always Great service....and always a great view. The breakfast menu is perfect, try the Bayou omelette. Always worth standing in line for. Bring quarters to buy fish food and feed the fish.

Went for lunch. Waitress brought wrong food to us, no apology. Not very attentive to us. Hubs fish and chips overcooked. My fried grouper so tough I thought it was chicken. So disappointed, probably will not return. Maybe they don't want to give locals good food.

Bayou joes was so great! We had a 20 min wait with hungry bellies but over all was so great. Vibes at 5/5, food 4/5 The corn nuggets were a better appetizer than the calamari. It's a great scenic views, good price, and average food.

Small and quaint on the water. Great staff, food and drinks. Nothing fancy, flatware comes wrapped inside a wash cloth. But the food was tasty! Worth a try! Had bloody Marys and the Bayou Omlet....

The good is good but when you order fish you get very little fish and they load the plate with fries and hush puppies. The wait was not bad and was friendly staff.

Came here on a whim, and were delighted with our experience. For our appetizers we ordered Corn Nuggets and the Crab Claws sautéed. For my dinner I ordered Joe's Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes at a hefty price of $28.99!!! Check my picture out and see how tiny my crab cakes were for being called "jumbo" on the menu. Yes, I was disappointed in that. The crab claws were good and my husband's blackened shrimp tacos were very good too. The view is a marina and that's okay with me. At least we ate on the water, lol. We will come back here in the future but I won't get the crab cakes again unless something changes in the "size". Bon appetite!

This was a nice surprise we came across during our visit to Panama City. It's right down on the water in the marina and a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. Our server was friendly and helpful. We started with the sautéed crab claws and corn nuggets. They were both great, but the crab claws were amazing. For my meal I had the blackened shrimp tacos. It came with a side and I chose the loaded potato salad, delicious. Between the appetizers and meal, my wife and I left there stuffed. We enjoyed it and will make sure to stop by every time we're in town.

The food was pretty good, my family loved it. My only complaint was the water tasted weird but other than that this was a cute little place to go

I'm giving four stars... but I really don't want to. We waited over an hour for our food.... In the August heat. The ice in our cups melted if that tells you anything. However, the two waitresses were hustling. Ours mentioned some had called out. The kitchen staff must have too? The food was really good too... even though it did take forever. We didn't know beforehand, there is no indoor seating. Be aware of this. Thankfully, we didn't have anywhere to go after, so sitting there sweating wasn't a problem for us. If you don't like sitting in the sweltering Florida heat, you might want to wait til cooler weather to try this place. I think if we go back, we will wait til that time. IF. Four stars for the few hustling staff and good food.

Right on the bay with a fabulous view. Casual, eclectic and inviting! I've eaten here several times when I'm in the area and have never been disappointed. I love crab cakes, but rarely find them up to my standards. These were delicious!! Tender, tasty crab with only enough breading to hold it together. The black eyed peas tasted as fresh as if they were picked this morning and perfectly seasoned. Service is superb! I will stop every time I am on town.

What a cute spot to enjoy a great meal. Located on a boat dock by a marina. The place is pretty small, but I was seated quickly and the service was superb. The grilled cod dinner was cooked perfectly and an ample size serving. I also had a nice size salad and a baked potato. They have several seafood options, as well as non seafood sandwiches, baskets or dinners. After eating out in the area this week, I think the prices were comparable to other places. I plan on returning and eating something else before I leave!

Never leave unsatisfied, love the food, staff an the view! Unfortunately Takes time to get a table, because they are popular... but that is why I keep coming back! Great job!
