Came here for dine in for the first time (usually I get take out). Food came quickly, service was friendly and attentive. The fish was very fresh and for specific pieces like the salmon, the fish even had a sweetness/umami to it. Good quality. Miso soup is not pictured, but had good depth of flavor and saltiness.

I’ll start by saying this place deserves more than a 3-star rating, but 4 stars feels a little too generous. Bay Ridge Sushi has a large menu and fits the mold of a typical sushi spot, though the interior is slightly more upscale than your average neighborhood sushi restaurant. I’ve eaten here many times, and while I’ve never had a bad experience, I’ve also never been blown away. The quality of the fish is solid but average, and the prices are a bit on the higher side though still noticeably cheaper than the more upscale sushi spots. This place is dependable “old reliable.” If you’re craving sushi and want something consistent without paying premium omakase prices, it gets the job done. For a sushi novice especially, the menu has more than enough variety to leave them satisfied.

We had a really great time at this sushi café! We were lucky to catch happy hour, which was a nice bonus. Everything was delicious and just perfect. Despite a banquet going on in the main hall, we were served quickly and attentively. The staff kept checking in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Big thanks — everything was great!

Amazing Japanese restaurant! The food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was delicious. The place is very clean, the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a great spot for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend!

Love the Fantasy roll, as soon as I start to crave sushi this is the first place comes to my mind🫶🏻

I was craving sushi and realized we hadn't tried any sushi places in the neighborhood so we decided to give Bay Ridge Sushi a try. We went for dinner on Saturday and the place was relatively empty other than a group of 6-7 people. The server came over immediately to take our drink order and give us menus but then disappeared for a while after dropping off drinks. It took us about 5 minutes to decide what we were eating but server was nowhere to be found. We were getting ready tonleave and go eat elsewhere when she finally came to take our order. I ordered the Big Girl roll and Tuna Tartar roll. Hubby went with the double lobster and some roll with banana in it. We opted to split 007 roll. Food came out in a timely manner. The rolls were good but it was disappointing to get something labeled as spicy with zero heat. I'd like to give them another try but will be asking for Sriracha or spicy mayo. 5 rolls, 2 sparkling water and a small hot sake came out to about $80 plus tip which wasn't too bad. Still on the search for a great sushi place but won't write this one off just yet, they could have been having an off day.

I have gone here for many years, even before they renovated and changed locations. The quality of food and service has always been top notch and I can guarantee I will continue to come here for years to come so long as they are here to provide an amazing sushi experience.

Had a great dinner at this sushi place. Service was great. Ambience was perfect for date night that I was in, the place is dimly lit. We had also ordered a miso soup, spider roll, which we devoured. Also a lychee martini. Everything tasted great and would def return to try out other dishes.

This is one of the better sushi restaurants I've visited in the area. Not only are the ingredients fresh, but they are extremely consistent and uniquely thought out. I love the tuna tartare roll, which is fried, the "tuna dumplings", which aren't dumplings at all. They're pringles with tuna and crab on top surrounded by sour cream (I think) like a dip. The hamachi Kama is good, too. Experiment with their menu, they have really nice selections! I've had the food delivered and enjoyed it, too. But much prefer to dine inside.

The otoro (fatty tuna) and the sweet shrimp were not fresh unfortunately. I liked the baby octopus and ikura. The miso soup was kind of watered down and I wish they put more curry for the curry chicken katsu, but the taste was good. Staff are very kind.

It's hard to find a place that offers $1 oyster now a days for happy hour. If you looking for $1 oyster during happy hour this is your spot. Their happy hour is during the weekdays from 4pm to 7pm expect holidays. I also tried their garlic fried oyster and golden salmon for appetizer. I think their garlic friend oyster would taste even better if there's more garlic (this is just my personal preference). Their golden salmon is pretty good I would get that again. Their rolls are more on the pricey side but I don't mind it. I like their spicy kani roll and wished their spicy salmon was a little more spicy. I been trying to find a sushi spot that's makes good kani roll and this place hit the spot. I would rather pay the $5 for a good roll then $3.50 for an okay roll. At the end of my meal they gave out sliced oranges super cute. My waitress was super nice and friendly. I'm definitely coming back to try their lunch special.

We did take out. The dining area looked really nice, I would like to dine in sometime. The food was fairly average, not disappointing, but nothing that will blow you away either. Decent food, decent prices. It's worth a try.

I originally found this place on google and ordered take out because it was nearby, and the food was very good. I've lived in bay ridge for many years and tried many sushi places in the area and this one is the best place I've had! I recently decided to eat in at the restaurant, and was very impressed by the quick service and courteousness of the staff. By far my favorite sushi restaurant!

The service and quality of food is always wonderful here. They have lots of unique rolls that I've never seen anywhere else, such as the Bubba roll-I'd love if they bottled whatever sauce they use, which tastes paprika-based. We have ordered takeout and have dined in. The restaurant itself is a great space - easy to relax and enjoy your meal with good acoustics so you can hear your own conversation and not everyone else's. Always a great time. One of our favorite go-to places.

Ordered from Bayridge sushi for takeout and appreciate that they offer more cuts of fish than your standard sushi restaurant including my favorite - fatty tuna. Our sushi was delicious, and their mango dragon roll was as popular as advertised. I took away a star for their minimal offerings of ginger and higher than normal prices (even for more variety). I ordered the tuna pizza and it was very greasy understandably from the fish - I typically order sushi pizzas at other restaurants in which the fish is not cooked so you have a less greasy experience. Their pizza was decent, but I definitely enjoy those topped with raw fish more.

Discovered a new place. The prices are good. The place is clean. The staff is friendly. And most importantly, the rolls are delicious. My order came quickly.

Bayridge sushi is very typical and serves the basic Japanese dishes that you can find at almost every Japanese restaurants. The selections are very basic and the fish freshness is a hit or miss. We have dined at the restaurant and ordered take out party trays before, but the experiences were nothing extraordinary and doesn't give you the craving experience. Price is on the higher end since inflation is currently full-blown. So for the price you pay, the quality is definitely not equivalent. Wish the selection were fresher and more varied/unique. Come here for your sushi! You won't regret it. For my dad's birthday, I ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Love Boat For 2 ($60) and Sushi and Sashimi Combo ($26.95). Food came in the best packaging and presentation I have seen thus far, from the way they tucked their menu neatly with the utensils to the beautiful sushi trays with flower decorations. The sashimi. Was so fresh. I haven't had sashimi in a while, and it hit just right, with the right amount of rich taste. I should really know what each fish is, but all of them tasted amazing. The Love Boat came with a special roll of our choice, so I chose the Mango Dragon Roll, which consisted of mangos on top and eel inside. That may sound weird, but it surprisingly tasted really good with that tart, subtly sweet taste! I have strong confidence their other special rolls taste just as awesome. Sadly, for 3 people, the amount still was not enough. But hey, we're big eaters. They also seem to sell a wide range of other foods besides sushi. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Absolutely 5/5 stars! If I could've rated higher I would. A friend of mine and I got together after awhile of not seeing eachother-- not only was the service spectacular. But the food was even better. The hot & cold sake 10/10! The presentation and attention to detail was above n beyond. Our waiter Sky I believe took care of us more than I've ever been waited on. Which was such a pleasant & refreshing ambiance to feel welcomed into. We began diving into the sushi boat prior to getting my photos but it's still impeccable in every way. The oysters were also fantastica! Thank-you so much & we will be back 100%

Amazing service for a party held in their party room in the back. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Owners are so warm and loving. I moved further away and don't get to frequent the place much and they still remember me and my family like i was there yesterday. Please order from them directly instead of grubhub, etc. It really makes a difference.

Came in expecting a nice meal, as always, as used to. I've been to this place to dine two or three times before, and gotten takeout a few times. Today, however, was simply absurd and shocking. Literally got yelp just for this. First, I ordered rock shrimp. Came out alright, totally normal at first glance. Tasted starchy as usual, but really, what can you expect? The sauce covered up most of that. What it didn't succeed in covering up though, were the leaves. The usual salad of spring greens provided was rotting! I was served brown, bruised, and limp greens. Shown in the first image. Next, I got my sashimi. This was on a Tuesday, so I really didn't set my expectations high. The tuna was brown, refer to image two. The complimentary wasabi was the texture of play-dough and rolled into a ball. Definitely interesting. It was dry and hardened, I squished it in the third image. The ginger that came along with the wasabi was browned on the edges, again disappointing me. Image four. Lastly, the dessert I got, mochi ice cream, was clearly expired. The green tea mochi was icy in the middle, clearly having been melted and frozen repeatedly over time, and in contrast to the mochi, the ice cream inside was brown instead of green. Browned with AGE. Refer to the final image. Won't be eating here again. Spent a lot of money on dinner that turned out to be subpar.

This sushi spot has an amazing lunch special and it ends at 4pm! I came here a few times around 2pm-3pm and it's typically empty, so no wait! I usually order the 3 roll combo (eel avocado, salmon avocado and crunchy spicy salmon roll). The rolls taste pretty fresh and are for such a great value! The staff are very inviting and friendly, which adds to the experience. If you're craving sushi and are in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping in!

I ordered from Uber eats. I got the spicy maki combo and shrimp shumai. The shumai was warm and delicious. The sushi was good maybe next time I wouldn't get 3 spicy rolls though. I would order from here again

I used to frequent Bay Ridge Sushi about 6 or 7 years ago and I remember it being pretty good. A few friends and I decided to give it a try again but the quality seems to have gone down. 4 of us walked in on a Wednesday night for dinner and drinks and were seated immediately. We ordered a variety of cooked and raw rolls to split (and plenty of hot sake). The fish honestly didn't look to appealing and didn't taste that great either, so I opted to keep picking on the cooked rolls. Better safe than sorry, right? The upstairs seating area looked pretty clean, but if you head downstairs towards the restrooms, the smell of old fish is potent and extremely off-putting. Thankfully (I guess?) we finished our meal before this discovery, but it was enough to make me want to avoid coming back in the future. The bathroom was also a disaster - paper everywhere and what I *hope* were big puddles of water all over the floor. There are a ton of other sushi options in Bay Ridge, so my reco is to skip this spot.

The MOST BEAUTIFUL sushi!! Ventured down to Bay Rdge a few weekends ago to try this spot out and I was NOT disappointed. They have a robust menu of the classics, but also some more unique dishes which I enjoyed mixing. My first time trying uni, but not my last. Wish I lived closer because I would definitely go more frequently. The owners and staff were all very welcoming and helpful. They have an outdoor set up that's pretty socially distant!

Ordered from here a few nights ago. Vegetable gyoza appetizer was crispy and light, a great start. I also got 2 rolls, the Hot Girl Roll and Fantasy Roll. Both great. Sukiyaki chicken soup is always a favorite, especially the sweet aftertaste. Would recommend!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in Bay Ridge. Friendly servers, clean environment, and comfortable attitudes. Visited this week with a guest for a sushi dinner. Given COVID-19, indoor dining is limited so staff recommends booking a reservation to ensure a table. Hand sanitizers on every table, but temperatures were not checked upon arrival. While I love to dine here, my only complaint this time was how unusually slow our particular service was (parties who arrived 15 minutes after us got their hot entrees (soups and bento boxes) before I received my raw sashimi?) and how close customers picking up to-go orders were to our particular table. These customers congregate around the register causing us to feel uncomfortable as they lingered over our table. Perhaps the table we sat at should have been blocked off as well? Nevertheless while perhaps a tittle restructuring can be done in terms of service, the food was excellent as always. I trust this particular restaurant for raw fish because it is always busy and seems to have their fish constantly moving and ordered. I ordered a sashimi deluxe with brown rice. Great presentation, fresh fish, and filling. My guest ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi combo. Absolutely delicious! I stole a piece of her steak and it was oh so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The sauce in which they food was marinated was excellent. Even those seemingly boring veggies were yummy; she ate the entire plate! May go-to place for sushi and hibachi. Their bento boxes and soups are great, too! Wonderful lunch specials available as well if you're interested!

Probably the best sushi spot in bay ridge. It's hard to find uni sushi in bay ridge but they always have! Been here for years but honestly the quality for recent years improved so much that this became my favorite local spot. The lady who takes my order every time is amazing. Ambiance is great as well, could be a cute casual date spot

Terrible experience from start to finish today. The waitresses demanded a tip despite very bad service. A tip is for GOOD service and food. We had neither. And we didn't order off the cheap menu either. We literally had to clean our own table. You are made to feel rushed through your (very bland) meal. Food is nothing special at all. This was my first visit and it will certainly be my last.

Fun menu but taste and texture of most dishes in two orders has been unremarkable, with some combinations just plain odd. I have had better sushi from restaurants in Park Slope.

Bayridge Sushi is one of my favorite Sushi places. Food was so so delicious. Dragon roll is always my favorite. Good service and restaurant looked so clean.

Today was the first time that I had walked into Bay Ridge Sushi as a dear friend was visiting town and catching up with another part of her circle. Knowing the region better than the both of us, the friend suggested BRS and shared that they had a wonderful lunch menu that was very easy on the wallet. Post holidays this is an amazing thing to make note of. Visually and spatially the restaurant is very pleasant and has a distinct decor to it. I found it to my liking and since it was early we were seated quickly and given our menus. My dining companions were aiming at assorted kinds of sushi but I was more in the mood for one of the Bento boxes as its stockpiled with a number of tasty eats. Beverage wise I stuck to water since I am not drinking alcohol for the month of January if at all possible. One of my friends had a Diet Coke. Our orders each came with Miso Soup and Salad and each was very tasty IMHO and then out was presented the main course. I mentioned opting for a Bento box and I chose Teriyaki steak since it came with a few Shumei, California Rolls and white rice (which I should have asked for brown). The issue for me was that the steak was loaded with onions and those kill my stomach nowadays so I informed the waitress and she said that she would fix it. They made me a fresh batch and upped the other vegetables instead which was fantastic. More broccoli, more carrots and mushrooms. I guess if you are dealing with this as a stomach issue as well that you should check in as you order so you don't run into any problems. My plate was clean once I was finished and it was a nice amount of food. My order before tax and tip came to $8.50 and you really cannot beat that at the end of the day. I know that I will be back here sometime and hopefully sooner than later since it was quite good. I did detect a WiFi which allowed for convenient Swarm and Yelp check-ins. It was nice to see my friend again even though she makes fun of my doing those social networking processes. Nice work Bay Ridge Sushi, keep up the good work.

Just moved back to the area and was excited to order from my favorite sushi spot. They have lots of new specials. I ordered the toro special roll, kizami crispy rice and uni sushi. The toro and kizami were soo savory and delicious. The toro and uni just melts in your mouth, so tasty. The kizami was crunchy and flavorful. Also got the oyster shots - 5/5 for food. Only issue was that food took a little longer to prepare - perhaps it is better to call in earlier for pick up

The food is good. Sushi and rolls are tasty. However, service can be better. There seems to be a revolving door of staff.

Sweet deals and prices. If you get delivery or take out, it's better to call to order instead of paying a markup on seamless trust me. I ordered the Special Sushi for $14 and paid $1.5 more to swap the standard roll for a salmon avocado. The quality of the fish was not bad but the rice is a tad hard. The delivery also took 1 hr to come so make sure to order ahead of time and be prepared to wait. Overall if they fix the rice and speed up delivery it's a pretty good spot.

This place is of the the best spots to get sushi and they deliver quick. Food taste great and have a great selection of food and options. Inside is a small yet cozy place

I did not want to even give one start this is a Zero star restaurant. I ordered an udon soup and received five dead flies in my soup. I called the store and all they could say was sorry. This is disgusting and unbelievable

Amazingly fresh sushi presented on a sushi boat, what more is there to say. Chilean sea bass was also cooked tenderly and goes very well with the miso sauce.

The food was delicious I came here with a friend to have dinner earlier tonight however the employees the lady that worked there and the man I'm not sure if the man worked there got into an argument I do not understand what was being said in their language but all the customers looked worried and concerned. The man was yelling at the female worker there not sure about what. Not blaming the restaurant because I don't know what was even going on however this caused me and my friend to want to pay and leave as soon as we could. Please look into that I hope everyone is ok. Other than that the food was really good I would give 5 stars however the argument in the back scared me and my friend.

Been coming here for 20+ years! Some of the best quality sushi for the price point I've ever had and I'm a sushi snob! The owners are always there and extremely friendly! 100% highly recommend this place!

It's ok. They did away with the All you can eat , which is completely disappointing. The atmosphere needs updating. Why do they insist on having people go down steep stairs for restroom when they have a perfectly good bathroom upstairs on main floor. Food is just passable. Other places far surpass them. Look at their health violations. Vermin present in and near food. Disgusting. Ugh

This by far is the best all you can eat sushi for the money. The quality is the same as the al la carte. Not the biggest options of all menus but quality. The best I have been to.

What a pleasant surprise! I'm fairly new to the neighborhood and every time I walk by Bay Ridge Sushi I promise myself I will give it a try. The fish is fresh (although, cut a little thick for my liking). They had ika and uni - not everyone dies. The service was friendly and efficient. I definitely will be going back to Bay Ridge Sushi.

The food is always delicious and fresh! Great combinations and fresh sushi, their delivery is packaged neatly and safe; Everything arrives perfect and ready to eat. I'm a regular and I'm glad to support them during these pandemic times. I do my best to eat their yummy food, hehe! Delicious, fresh and quality sushi! A sure hit. Thank you for working so hard!

Sushi Sensei Badge! I actually never dined in the restaurant before, and to be honest, I always get my orders through delivery.com whenever the site sends me offers/coupons. Food is consistent, orders accurate, always. Prices for the portions aren't bad neither. Last night I opted for a bento box instead, I wasn't satisfied with the one I got from Ichi Sushi a few days ago. The Beef Negimaki came with 9 pieces, the flavors were sweet and beefy but a bit too oily, though. The box also included stir fried veggies, California roll, fried shumai, a couple slices of pineapple, soup and a salad. The size of the meal was in fact large, me and my sister could have easily shared it. I would say this place stands out more than the other surrounding Japanese restaurants, maybe not so much for their prices, but definitely quality wise.

This place is not bad! Our server that day was pleasant. I ordered their salmon nigiri and it was great. I ordered their katsu here and it was really good. They have a nice drink menu as well. I really hope to come back for their lunch specials.

One of the worst sushi experiences ever. The menu only has sushi, no sashimi and no other menu items. I have never been to an all-you-can-eat where there is no other menu items. So they force you to have sushi only. Then, they stuffed it with rice. I mean, they piled it on to fill you up. Sure, that's what restauranteurs do, but this one has twice the amount of rice as any other place. PLUS, their scallop was not fresh at all. No, I would not post any of this, but the next thing pushed me over the top. For our second round, I explained the scallop issue and how there is too much rich. Guess what they came back with? Take a look at the attached photo, 66% less fish but 20% less rice. So, in the end, it's confirmed. They just want to trick u and stuff u with rice. I will NEVER go back. If you want regular menu, maybe u can try it. But for all-U-can-eat, this place is a sham.

The lunch special are great deal. Come with 2 rolls and either soup or salad. However if I order for pickup my order over $25 it doesn't automatically give you a free California's roll unless you ask for it. Which is not a pleasant thing to do always have to remind them.
