We stayed in the motel, room 308. The bedroom was a bit outdated, but very clean and comfortable. Had all the amenities we needed (ironing board, kettle, crockery & cutlery). Bed was large and comfy. The bathroom was lovely and seemed like it had been recently refurbished. Extremely clean and the shower pressure was incredible. All amenities provided, including toiletries (even shaving foam!) and a hair dryer. Fantastic. The location was ideal for anyone wanting to visit the bay of fires. Plenty of shops and cafes around. The view from our motel was lovely looking out on the bay. There is also parking directly outside- the only downside is that some people from the bistro appeared to be parking in the motel spaces as we couldn’t always find a space at night. We visited the bistro both nights and really enjoyed the schnitzel. Lovely food for a reasonable price and good service.

Apart from our check-in experience, the hotel was lovely. Room was clean and spacious for three people. Location was excellent for our needs. We didn't end up eating at the restaurant so cannot comment on the food. Unfortunately a staff member messed up our room twice when checking in. We were given a room that only slept 2 people at first. The interaction with the staff member was rude and unfriendly. He ignored us when we walked in and was very blunt and dismissive. Thankfully when we came back to inform them of the mess up, we had Jennifer greet us who was super helpful. She double checked our correct room. Unfortunately the man who had originally checked us in also messed up that room and when we went there, other people's belongings were already in there. Jennifer then made sure to give us a completely new room and we finally settled in. Third time lucky!

Stayed for one night. Hotel is located in the centre of St Helens. We had a bay view room which was very good. Room is a little tired decor wise but comes equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster and tea/coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable and sound proofing good. The hotel has a public bar and restaurant which we ate in and the food very good. All the staff we interacted with (reception, bar staff and cleaning) were very friendly. St Helens is a small quiet town but the hotel seems to be a focal point which made it feel very welcoming. The hotel is perfectly located to base yourself at for visiting the sights in the wider area. Would definitely recommend it.

Probably a generous rating, but specified a bay view room which upped the rating due to its reasonable privacy. Room was tight, but had everything needed - bed, microwave and fridge and bathroom looked recently renovated - low ceiling, but other than that bathroom was good. Rooms was very clean and bed ok. Being able to park near the room is a bonus. View across bay is pleasant (if not blocked by cars in the car park. At the price point nothing to complaint about.

Roast of the day was pork. Looked ok on the plate but was tasteless. The vegetables were drowned in water, over cooked. Roast potatoes were pathetic. The meat was tasteless. My partner had Lasagne. Which came with a huge serve of chips! You don't serve chips with Lasagne. Disappointed

Staff, location and cleanliness of the room are all 5 stars. Where this room (number 15) lacked is due to an odour of very very strong bleach, what made it worse is that there is no aircon and no ventilation without opening the doors, so that's what we had to do until after 1am, which was freezing. I was so close to sleeping in the car due to obtaining a headache and chest pain from the odour, but didn't feel safe in doing so. The following morning staff were made aware of the smell, they were receiving of the feedback and apologised. Unfortunately for me it means a very tired following day and painful chest to navigate whilst travelling.

Room very tired but clean. No room service which we found out was due to it being a public holiday rather than told in advance. Having asked for 2 cups as our room had not been serviced was told not possible. A joke. Do not recommend you stay here. Woukd investigate other options.

Went there for dinner tonight, 4/09/25 it’s our 20th wedding anniversary and we wanted to have a nice dinner out while holidaying up north of our beautiful state. Amazing service, friendly staff and tasty food.

Yelp
Great experience! A full house with enthusiastic customers and staff. Upon entering we asked a couple eating for their recommendations and took their advice. The seafood linguini was delicious and the inexpensive red Cabernet Merlot went very well. I had the salt and pepper calamari with a salad and was quite impressed. It was excellent!. Tender and flavorful. The specials were also very popular. Highly recommended.
