We've been to this club a few times to show support for this local small business. Unfortunately we were disappointed yet again when we were there last night. I really want to like this place but I go to a bar to have a real drink. Sadly, your 'bartenders' are woefully untrained. A few months ago I was there and a young female bartender researched how to make a dirty martini and she made it beautifully. I liked that she used her phone, looked up the recipe and made a great drink. She cared!
Last night I initially ordered a dirty martini and was told there was no olive juice so I had to pick something else. Really? It's a bar! So next, I ordered a Buellit old fashioned. The young male bartender threw whiskey in a glass with ice and a slice of orange and bitters maybe. It was awful! He didn't even attempt to look up the recipe and seemed a little indignant when I asked for some cherries or something to sweeten the drink a little. Good thing the whiskey was tasty.
So next I order a club soda. It was served in a beautiful glass with a slice of lime, but there was not a single bubble in the soda! Flat as water. Why?
I was speaking with another patron at the bar last night. He ordered vodka, cranberry and soda and was extremely disappointed. He said to me, "I'll order a beer next time." The same male 'bartender' made his drink too.
To the owner, If you're serious about running a bar, spend the time, energy and money to properly stock your bar and TRAIN your bartenders or hire new ones. (Keep the young female bartender because she cares!)
People go to a bar to have real drinks.
Now I will discuss the music. Everytime we've been there, the same DJ is spinning. Aside from being insanely loud for that small venue, his music has no variety. None. My ears are still ringing this morning! Maybe switch it up and have other DJs spin. Musical variety may bring in some more patrons. Perhaps turn the volume down a little so people in the back of the bar can actually have a conversation.
I'll come back in a few months and see if anything has improved. Honestly, I really want to patronize this local bar but you've got to do better. Start with the drinks. Food? Never seen it there. Why is it even on the menu?
I don't like giving negative reviews but I'm hopeful that improvements can be made. If things stay the same, that bar won't be there long.
Please take this review constructively. I want your bar to do well.
See you in a few months.
