Avoid at all cost, we had a group booking of 20+ we showed up and the houses are falling apart, run down and total opposite of the pictures. Hygiene doesn't exist here. It's so sad, this was a really good resort but the current owner has totally let it go with little to no maintenance.

Very uncomfortable to stay at Bay View. Facilities are so bad. The staff are so unprofessional and there was never a time I enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Due to my stay there, dinner was buffet and we only have three dish to choose from. Breakfast was never on time. Photos that on their website are old photos. I don't recommend this resort in the future unless they have come to their right senses to renovate their fales and services

We stayed in unit 5 right beside the beach, with 2 boys 8+5. The room had a double and single bed, and 3 more single beds in the spacious attached fale. The rooms were basic but functional and had a small fridge. There wasn't much of a beach but we had access to the kayaks and it was great to be able to head out in the water and see the turtles popping their heads up. We also kayaked to explore the other side of the bay and around the side where we found some beachy spots. Wild pigs and piglets running around which were cute! The food at the resort is nice - the free breakfast included fruit, eggs+toast, coffee and a Samoan dish in the mornings. The staff came to get our dinner order at 5.30pm each evening. Some of the options weren't available, but the chicken stir fry was always a winner. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

We didn't really know what to expect and after leaving NZ in the morning and travelling to Savaii, including a bus from the ferry, we were ready to collapse. The bus driver and locals knew the place and there's a big sign out front. It's a long bus trip but worth it for the experience (catch a taxi back to the ferry, don't try to bus). ||||We had the front bungalow and the whole setup was great. The first night we slept outside and we loved our private fale style deck. The view is spectacular. The meals were better than expected and took us back to our backpacker days - order late afternoon and specify the time you'll come up to the dining hall. Breakfasts were great. ||||We took the kayaks over the lagoon and walked around the point and back - it's spectacular on the ocean side. ||||The teenager found he could only get 3G from the dining hall, the bungalow was a bit too far from the road. ||||Next time: ||- I'd stay longer ||- I'd have my own transport

Don't believe the pictures that they use to advertise this "3-star resort", this place is a real dump.|Might sound harsh, but from the nearly fallen down cabins, only-cold water showers (which weren't mentioned, nor appreciated), pillow cases with holes in them (we won't mention the state of the mattress, blugh!)| Black mould was present on the ceiling which seemed to be growing the longer we stayed, presumably due to condensation from the air conditioner.|Staff were pleasant enough, however, didn't provide satisfactory service as we weren't properly checked-in, seemed like they didn't have our booking (mind you, we pre-paid and had booked 2 months in advance to our stay).| We weren't given fresh towels, nor was our room serviced throughout the duration of our 4-night stay, luckily, we brought our own towels from home so we were able to get by, however, for a "3-star resort" this really should be expected. In the end, we asked for towels and were luckily given some. We also had to ask for extra toilet, as only one roll had been provided for all of us.| As for the, bar and restaurant, the dinner menu and food was average. However, breakfast-provided was beautiful and remains as our only highlight.| On the 2nd day, we were told by a local of the extra activities (kayaking, fresh water pool, snorkel hire, etc.) that the "resort" had to offer, which we should have been told upon arrival.| We pre-paid, so had little choice but to make the best of what we had, however, only managed to stay 3 out of 4 nights, before packing our bags and staying our final night at a true 3-star resort, 15 minutes down the road, which exceeded Bayview Resort by far.| Overall, this was a really disappointing place to stay for $250NZD per/night.

Bathroom facilities wer so bad. Never showered there due to limitation of water. Struggled to find any staff members to advise them of the issue. Beds wer uncomfortable but due to all other hotels being fully booked we had no choice but to stay there.

We were lucky enough to be in the front bungalow ( number 5) with direct views of the water and it was magical. There was four of us and we took it in turns to sleep in the open fale which proved to be the best spot. Cool and peaceful to sleep with the sounds of the sea and the animal life. Great swimming out the front with fish and the visiting turtles. However the best part of the stay was the wonderful people looking after us.Huge breakfast and a good selection for lunch and dinner, we felt genuinely welcomed. Our beautiful frangipani leis at the fai fai night and on departure were truly loved. Also being right on the lava fields was very different and added to the special flavour of the place. A great place for visitors who want an authentic experience not the usual "resort" blandness which can be found anywhere in the world.

We loved our time here. Staff treated us like family. Great food and entertainment. Our room also had an attached fale and we were right on the edge of the bay. Kayaking is free to use. And the rock pools fill up at high tide for a bathe. Rooms were clean and tidy. Nothing was too much to ask. Tea and coffee and fridge provided. Two beds to nap in during the day in the fale. Or you can sleep in it at night. They bring dinner straight to your room or you can sit in the restaurant. We would def stay here again and take the kids!! Five min walk to the lava fields also.
