This hostel is amazing!!! The bunks are like pods with blackout curtains, and the bed was so comfortable, so I had a great night sleeps. You get 2 pillows, a towel, and shortbread on arrival. The kitchen was always spotless, same with the bathrooms. The other guests were great, so easy to meet people. Plus the staff were very nice and approachable. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more cozy, they put the fire on. Probably the best hostel I’ve ever experienced!!!

The negative. This hostel along with other accommodation in the area appears to inflate prices depending on what local events are occurring.On this occasion I paid 250 pounds for 3 nights accommodation. Other guests were horrified at the cost in relation to what you got. The good. Beds were comfortable. Black out blinds very welcome. Room a nice Temperature.Common area and kitchen extremely nice. Especially the Kitchen. Needs improvement. Shared shower facilities. Therefore you need to get changed in the shower cubicle . To do that you need to put your towel down on the wet cubicle floor . You get issued with one towel on arrival. Having used the shower in the morning and then having returned from the loch Ness Marathon I was hoping for a fresh towel. The response from the worker on asking . Was she appeared flustered and began shouting. Had I not already checked out. No was my reply I check out the following day. The response was that I have to pay another 5 pounds. I politely explained that having paid 250 pounds for three nights I felt it unfair. In respect of the showers adjacent to room 1 and 2. Out of three showers . One barely worked. The 2nd one had a broken on off twist handle.And the 3rd was fine. Overall Cleanliness Kitchen beds good . Showers poor . With exception off one staff member polite and professional. Depending on when you travel could be exceptional value to extremely poor value as mine was on this occasion. It was only the accommodation in the locality where prices were substantially increased .Bars and restaurants remained the same. What does this mean.Only the well healed get to attend events disadvantaging others.

I booked this as a last resort due to a missed train connection. The communication with the manager was first class as my estimated arrival time kept changing. She sent me comprehensive instructions on how to get in after hours and she let me know that she had told my roommates ahead of time that I would be arriving late at night. I was a bit wary of a 4 person dorm with strangers but thanks to blackout privacy curtains for each bunk I enjoyed a great nights sleep before an early morning start. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to use all the services which is why I felt I couldn’t give a maximum rating. I can say however that the bathrooms were clean and the bedroom was clean and comfortable and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Amazing hostel, staff are really friendly and the whole atmosphere is such an enjoyable experience, well worth a stay if your traveling solo as a great place to meet new friends and travel buddies, will be back for a future visit.

Amazing hostel with a great location. The bed is confortable and with more of enough space to store your things. The bathrooms are also very good and always clean, the kitchen seems to be new, with everything in good state and the living room is really coozy. I really don't have complains about this place.

One of my favourite places to stay. Very home-like, quiet atmosphere with friendly crew.

Very good room with pre-made bed. Locker in the room, drapes, towel, shower and toilet with easy access. Well met when arriving. Situated next to a restaurant and pub, perfect. No parking so if you have a car or motorbike it can be tricky.

UNSAFE ACCOMMODATION In the only room designated for female guests, I was abruptly awakened at 2 a.m. by an adult woman repeatedly kicking my bed. The hotel had no phone service to report the incident, and they merely gave me a standard response to call the police.
