BBQ Al Qasr

In terms of food, definitely the worst tasting meal for me in Abu Dhabi over the whole week. Lamb rack was over cooked, dry, and bland. Did the lamb just walked all the way from Liwa to Abu Dhabi? I could have done better in my frying pan. The accompanying onion and the mushroom side dish was tasty though. (I thought about the wagnyu tartar with the “signature mark”, but it’s a bbq place…) My friend said the grilled baby chicken was pretty good. The staff is friendly but a bit lacking in details. The person taking our order didn’t even know the main dish includes a side—which was clearly stated on the menu—and insisted to ask the chef. The price is kind of inexpensive for the location. The food and service is below my expectation at the beautiful beach as well as for Mandarin Oriental. So two stars, including one solid star for the palaces.

I had a very bad experience yesterday.. imagine it's a valentines day and with the over price reservation of 1700Aed. My wife and I reached there. They guided to our table out side to the beach the weather was very windy and very cold and they don't have a heater, we couldn't stay more than 15 mins. We requested to have a table inside and since they don't have they suggested to us to go to another restaurant which is Al Sayad.. the reservation there is 900 for couple and they don't have the option the give us back the remaining 800 from the 1700 of the first reservation. Anyways after the 3 bad dishes we had there. The only way to take my money back is to buy from them any thing but no refund no vouchers. Its really not good. Just to be fair the stake at Al sayad is perfect and the bread as well .

amazing dinner spot on the beach after walking thru the palace which was nice to see. we ordered the tomahawk for 2 and it was so good. sides were also great (garlic potato wedges and mac n chz). would def recommend!!

My wife and I had an excellent meal here. The service was excellent and the view was beautiful. Keep in mind if you go later at night it may be chilly due to being windy and by the water. We ordered a tomahawk steak which was far more than enough for 2 people. The steak was honestly some of the best I've ever had outside of the US. I loved the potatoes and my wife loved the mac n cheese which we requested without lobster. The steak also came with grilled veggies and 5 different sauces. Everything was cooked perfectly and overall delicious. I'd definitely go back!
