I Am a Mother of 2 in Rural North Carolina—and I Found Freedom on a Mountain Bike

"A Cherokee-based outfitter that rents bikes so visitors can access nearby trails and also operates a taproom for a relaxed post-ride drink; a convenient hub for both outfitting and social downtime after a ride." - Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle

The guys at BCO were super friendly, and my hubby loved talking shop with them as a fellow bike store manager. See you on our next visit to Cherokee!

Fantastic shop! Was traveling through and their storefront along caught my eye. Stopped in and they recommended me to ride their local trails and there were great. Super wide selection, not only products but brews as well! The staff is where these guys shine, needed some service done to my bike and they were willing to stay to get me fixed up.

This is a really cool shop. They rent bicycles as well as many other things. They had stickers, t-shirts, caps, camping supplies, and even dog supplies.

We stopped in to check out BSO’s new location and get lunch from the Sassy Sunflower food truck. Of course we had to sample some local brew and appreciated the half pint option. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the store was very clean with large selection of bike gear and other items.

Great stop post mountain biking Fire Mountain. Good selection of cold beers, friendly staff, great selection of gear and t-shirts and food truck options. River side patio that is quiet and peaceful.

My husband needed to rent a helmet after forgetting his at home an hour and a half away. BC Outdoors was able to accommodate his size and provide a MIPS certified helmet for under $15 for a day rental (we arrived around noon, they close at 6). Upon return, the staff asked about downed trees on Fire Mountain trail system because they try to maintain the trails in addition to being the bike store in town- Awesome community stweardship! The little bar inside is cute and the seating area out back overlooks the Oconaluftee River - we didn't have time for a beverage but when we come back we will definitely be stopping in.

My Wife and I visit the Bryson city Store a lot and do a lot of business there, however we were looking for new mtn bikes and hit up the Cherokee BCOutdoors to look around. We ended up buying two new Bikes instead of one. They really took the time to help my wife find the right bike, they definitely went above and beyond! Really happy with the bike shop! Joe and the owner were outstanding. Thanks again for our new gear!! If your looking for a place to buy or rent a bike check them out, they also have the best view in the area for a cold drink and a nice taproom.
