Beachside neighbourhood cafe that provides food and drinks (breakfast, lunch or dinner), with the option of indoor or outdoor dining. Food menu range from usual options (e.g. cakes, pastries, burger, fish and chips, etc) to vegetarian/ vegan options. The menu does change over time- they used to make a great shakshuka. Food portions are generous. Service is hit and miss depending who attends to you- some are attentive and others not so. But I find when the manager (I’m assuming the gentleman with the beard) is present, it’s great. The place does sometimes get pact (usually nice sunny days or when everything else is closed on a public holiday) and I sense the staff do get overwhelmed and things get a bit disorganised- lines between new and leaving customers become blurred. If it rains, there is no extendable outside awning (the umbrellas only provide shade), so seating can become limited to just the sheltered patio and indoor space. Atmosphere is my favourite part of the place- quirky, kitchy, vintage kind of Hawaiian tiki feel. Dog friendly (purchase dog cookies at counter and water bowls provided outside) and kid friendly. Only thing I wish could be improved is the coffee- I find it’s a bit burnt.
