Great place to stop for a traditional breakfast. Outdoor seating covered. A little bit of a wait but worth it. Friendly and welcoming service. Plates are full/nice size portions. Their pancakes 🥞 ARE fluffy, you can actually share the short stack (2). The 🥓 bacon and corn beef hash and eggs 🤤. Their vanilla had me 3 cups in (and I'm not a coffee ☕ drinker).

Excellent food and service! It was a busy Saturday morning but we got sat in like 20 minutes. Love that they have a large waiting area. Their coffee is delicious. I had the corned beef hash and pancakes. Talk about plentiful. My wife had the huevos rancheros and waffle. She moved hers as well. The server was great. Considering how busy they were, she was very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Cool beach-esque vibe with a solid menu, good food, and great service (servers, hosts, bussing staff). Catherine K was an awesome sever! Lots of seating options, indoor tables, booths, counter as well as dog friendly patios. Small parking lot available or street parking, gets very busy especially on weekends.

Delicious, homemade breakfast. Highly recommend the banana crunch french toast. Also amazing coffee cake. The omelette was cooked perfectly. The only thing to be aware of is the restaurant is adding 10% to the entire check because of the high price of eggs. This is true whether you order an egg dish or not. This feels wrong. Raising the cost of dishes with eggs would be fairer. Long wait an hour on Sunday.

Delicious, large portions. Loved the atmosphere, and service was friendly and quick! We got there right after it opened and it wasn't too busy, but was getting full when we left. It will stay on my list of favorite places for the next time we visit the area.

Visited this past Sunday during a busy rush hour and I could not be happier with the service we received. When we arrived, we were informed that it would be a 25 minute wait so we took a seat to wait for our table and within 10 minutes we were seated. We were shown to our seats and promptly greeted by our wonderful server, Sara. She started us with cups of water immediately and gave us a few minutes to look over the menus. She returned shortly after, took our order and brought out our food in what seemed to be record time! We waited less than 10 minutes for 4 eggs, 1 turkey sausage patty, 2 bacon strips, 1 hash brown, 1 Belgian waffle and 1 French toast. Sara checked in on us twice and made sure that we were completely satisfied with our experience. Overall, the food was very good. Eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns were average, the turkey sausage was excellent and the Belgian waffle was a solid 4.5/5 as well. The food was good but the main reason we will be returning is because of the customer service we received from Sara. Her friendly disposition and ability to make you feel at home really tied the whole experience together. She definitely deserves a raise! Thanks for great service and a great experience, Sara!

Prepare to have a wait, but the food is delicious and worth it! Love the surfer decor and the random coffee mugs, our table had surfer magazine covers all over. Food portion size is very generous, which is good since it isn’t cheap, our party of 7 was almost $200, they added gratuity to our check. Service was ok, but they were super busy. I ordered an egg white vegetarian omelette with extra crispy hash browns and sourdough. I couldn’t finish it all it was so big and it was super yummy! You could tell the ingredients were fresh, also loved being surprised with avocado slices inside my omelette (usually most places place it on top). I would recommend and I will be coming back!

Out standing Corned Beef Hash. Hash is made in-house and it shows! Wait staff very attentive. Well Worth the wait(20 min)

Service is great. Waitress is very patient and kind. My awesome olmelet is with egg whites, big serving, potato cakes are delicious. Will definitely be coming back. On the other hand. My wife got a huevos rancheros and they brought us a 5 layer bean dip from Walmart. maybe i am too Mexican haha But overall this place is great, even the environment and vibes.

Not as good as it used to be. Still a great spot for brekkie or brunch/lunch. Great server. Hostess was very green but everyone starts somewhere. Walls lined with local legends (including my ex-husband who was on the wall above our table).

Visited Beach Break Cafe during the middle of the week at 12pm and it was crowded. The service staff was very attentive, however the Tuna Melt and Turkey Club left a lot to be desired in terms of taste. The Tuna melt tasted like cold mayonnaise, and the turkey club didn't taste like much of anything at all. The service staff was lovely, but I don't think we'll be back.

Another delicious breakfast with great service. California Omelette and hash browns were so good and the coffee is as well.

On our way from San Diego to Magic Mountain we stopped here for some breakfast. The food was really good, I got the ON Fire scramble with potato pancakes and coffee cake, the wife got a Greek omelet and my kiddo got eggs and pancakes. The restaurant was clean and well maintained and they keep people moving in and out efficiently, getting told 15 minutes and only waiting 5 is a big plus for a hungry party of 9. But for me it's the service that killed it here Molly was the name on the receipt and she was amazing, was great with the kids, got everyone refills, brought every sauce imaginable to the table and even cracked a couple of jokes. Live in the area or traveling through stop and eat here.

Super friendly service with a cool beach vibe. Reasonable prices for a big menu with lots of tasty choices. I'll be back.

So I'm not a huge fan of breakfast but this place is quite exceptional. It wasn't super busy when we arrived (a little before 8:30 on a Saturday morning) but started to get pretty busy by the time we finished our meal. I got the minced ham scramble with cheese, breakfast potatoes and coffee cake. Also got hot chocolate. My husband had chicken fried steak and coffee. He said the coffee and chicken fried steak were really good. My ham scramble was great - eggs weren't runny and the cheddar jack cheese was perfect with it. The hot chocolate had a hint of cinnamon in it and was surprisingly delicious. Service here was excellent and I would 1000% recommend it to anyone looking for a good breakfast spot.

Surf's up at Beach Break Cafe! This cafe at the corner has its own private lot and serves up some delicious breakfast and brunch items all while patrons dine surrounded by surfing memorabilia. The surfing culture is strong here as you're engulfed by surf boards, magazines, posters and artwork. It's a beautiful space to dine. The service is also phenomenal. We were greeted from the time we entered and checked on throughout the service. Smiles are abundant here! The food was also prepared well and tasted delicious. Coffee cake - We made sure to order the infamous coffee cake and we were not disappointed. It was sweet, warmed, and moist - everything you'd want from a coffee cake. Great execution and presentation. Awesome omelette - As the name suggests, it is awesome! It's full of ingredients and with a side of hash browns, it's filling! Biscuits and gravy - moist fluffy biscuits always pair well with gravy. It's comfort food! Mickey Mouse pancake - it's cute and big for a three year old but light on the sugar makes it less of a guilty pleasure. The face is a bit sad due to the bareness and probably could use a side of fruit or something. Breakfast classics - eggs were cooked perfectly and we were fans of the bacon. Overall, Beach Break Cafe gives you that much needed break from the weekday hustle and sets you up for a nice relaxing day. Enjoy a coffee or juice with your meal to cap it off and if you're able to finish all that food, you'll be needing a nice nap on the beach, which is literally just across the street.

Beach Break cafe is located at coast Highway in Oceanside. The restaurant location is incredible. It is just a walking distance to the beach or if you want to explore other businesses around in the area. By the time we arrived, the restaurant was packed. We had to wait for around half an hour. It worth every minute waiting to have a nice breakfast there. They open until 2 pm only. The menu includes many delicious dishes; for  example  burritos, pancakes, breakfast specialties, salads,  biscuits and gravy, grill specialties , and kid's menu is available too. The decor is spectacular. The interior decor of the restaurant is an ode to surfing. The service was outstanding. Our hostess checked on us several times, and filled our cups with water very frequently. We ordered the following; -Awesome Omelette Scallops, bay shrimp, crab; bacon; avocado, Jack and Cheddar cheeses. It served with your  choice of two sides; homestyle potatoes, hash brown, potato pancake, sliced tomatoes, toast, biscuit, or tortilla. We chose Hashbrowns  & Coffe cake for the sides. It was filled with seafood, rich, creamy and large portion. I totally recommend this order for seafood lovers or pescatarian. We also got two orders of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy, layered and buttery. Their gravy was one of the best gravy I have ever tried. It was creamy and flavorful. Beach Break is one of my favorite breakfast spot that we visited recently. Shout out to all the employees who are working efficiently to please the large number of customers and keep the place clean.

This place is amazing!! We've been waiting for our chance to come and try it and it did not disappoint!! We got the chicken fried steak and ham scramble. Both were delicious and hot!! Side note the coffee is really good! Best I've had in Southern California! If you're considering trying this place, do it! You won't be disappointed!

Beach break is my absolute favorite breakfast place. The service is always great, the food is always delicious and it's located in a fun area. My absolute favorite is the corned beef hash with a side of coffee cake with vanilla or regular coffee. The combination of the salty and sweet is perfect. Banana crunch French toast is also delicious. If you visit, don't sleep on that homemade coffee cake. It's served warm and with fresh frosting drizzle. You usually get to choose that rather than toast, even if you get it to go it's a must have.

I visited this area. And I went there because of good reviews. BUT I was very disapointed. Servies wasn't what I expected and omelett was so dry. When you order your omelett, you better ask not dry. The reason why I thought the service wasn't great was because I asked for some condiments and the waiter wouldn't give it and I patiently asked and when I asked he gave it to me with a slam. Dissapointed and won't be back anyway!!

Parking is small. The wait time was maybe 20 minutes on a Thursday morning. The staff was super nice. The best part of breakfast was probably the coffee cake, so delicious!

With the wonderful reviews, I had high hopes for this place. I don't come to San Diego very often anymore so I'm excited when I finally get to make the trip and top it off with amazing food. I had huevos rancheros that were underwhelming. I've had a lot of huevos rancheros over the years at some great places and while this wasn't terrible, it rates at the lower end of my experiences. There was definitely an effort at seasoning. I tasted spices in the meal, but it didn't come together to make magic. It was still bland. My husband felt the same way about his breakfast burrito. Not bad. Not good. Just "meh." This is a brunch spot, not a Mexican restaurant and I'll just have to accept that. Service was fine. Restaurant was clean and spacious. This place is fine for families to just come and enjoy a meal together, but not a good look if savory cuisine is the goal. I don't expect to come back.

Walked in on a Saturday morning and was seated quickly. Ordered and food came out fast. Everything we ordered was delicious. The steak I ordered was flavorful and well cooked.

So many great choices. We had banana crunch french toast, eggs benedict, and huevos rancheros. All were amazing. We arrived Sunday @ 9:30am. The waiting area was full, but they turnover tables quick. Our wait was 15 minutes. Great service and the staff was friendly. We'll be back!

All the food and Colin our waiter were great!! The portions are incredible with 2 sides which will blow your mind!! Best breakfast restaurant in CA! Yes I said it!!

Visiting from Vegas, came in and tried this spot out since it was near our Airbnb. We had a group of about 20 since we were visiting for a soccer tournament for the weekend, and although we were a large group they were able to accommodate our large party fairly quickly. The restaurant itself felt had a very comfortable vibe, I could definitely see this being one of my frequent breakfast spots if I lived in Oceanside. The service was great, and the food was amazing. Anytime I go on any vacation, I have a habit of over ordering, which I did today, but I couldn't help myself my group came the day before and told me it was good spot with good food. Glad we came back on our last leg of the trip, I had the California scramble with coffee cake and house potatoes, not sure what everyone else ordered but I tried the biscuits and gravy someone else in my party had and they were delicious, they even give you side of pico and some homemade salsa, it gave a nice spice to all of my dishes. I will definitely be coming back whenever I visit Oceanside, the prices are reasonable as well!

I decided to treat myself to some Beach Break on my day off. It's such a chill vibe full of locals and newbies checking out the place. Always clean, always friendly and the food is always delicious . Home cooked style nothing fancy just a great breakfast or lunch is all you need sometimes. Then you leave nice and satisfied. Great food. Great friends. Great service. That's their motto and they certainly live by it! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, complimented by fresh and flavorful fruit. The chicken fried steak was, dare I say, perfectly done! The accompanying biscuits and gravy and potato pancake were absolutely outstanding. Good amount of seating but no reservations. Cool beach themed interior. Would definitely come again!

Came back after moving out of Oceanside six years ago. STILL the very best breakfast and lunch restaurant in the entire area! Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Check it out!

Love BB! Great food, casual beach atmosphere and homely. Their service was great as always from hostess to server. Visited on a weekend mid-morning, wait was 20 minutes. Sat and server quickly took our beverages. Server was super friendly and checked in on us a few times for refills etc. during our visit. Ordered a waffle, kids Mickey pancake, Santa Fe and Chili Verde omelette, all were really good and flavorful. We love their home style potato's and harbor sauce! It's the best. We visit here often and it's our top breakfast spot.

Dog friendly! Had the Zells Scramble, was phenomenal! Nice servers, customers, patio was airy, with fans and open windows. The hashbrowns are crispy, buttery & delicious!

The BBC restaurant has the best surfer vibe around! This casual beach atmosphere has the best service. The staff here makes sure you get what you came in for. This team works like a well oiled machine. You do not have to wait long for your order. I must tell you something. Please take notes. The BBC restaurant has a magnificent coffee cake! Serving dimension size is around . The height of the cake is about 2 to 2 1/2 inches tall. Id you're ever in the area. GET SOME!!!!

Every time I come home I try to get out here for breakfast, but I am not a morning person, so I never make it. But this year my brother and I made it a point to come, so on a Wednesday around 10:30 am we were seated. Our waitress was Alyshe and she was great. I am from the south so I always have to try Biscuits and Gravy if someone has them. I will say I was not disappointed. The gravy was tasty and the biscuits soft. My brother had the short stack pancakes with bacon and eggs. Huge pancakes. He kept saying "this is too much I can't eat it all", but would then say "it's so good I can't let it go to waste". LOL I forgot to mention that the coffee was very good. I must have had three cups. So now I can check this place off my bucket list. I will have to come back for lunch next visit home. Aug. 2, 2023

Best breakfast ever! I had the Denver omelette, no cheese, and Heat had an egg white vegetarian omelette with chicken added. Best ever. Katie served. Beautiful! Pico was homemade. We'll be back!!

Food was very good and waitress was great! Was a quick walk from our vacation condo and would recommend!

We hit them at 11 am on a Sunday morning. Expect a wait. Less than 20 minutes. Long enough to enjoy all the surfing and skateboard memorabilia in the front. It's also all over the restaurant. Service was great and friendly. Food was coming out pretty steady but they were packed. Noticed food service speed up as they caught up with the crowns Food was really good. I had breakfast and the wife had lunch. She said chicken torta was worth repeating and my breakfast was near perfect.

Great food and service! I loved the surf themed ambiance! I had a California omelet. Their bakery is top notch too!

I usually visit this place 1-2 times a year as the crowd/line is often far longer than I'm able to wait (a good sign of the quality of the menu you'll order from) My biggest compliments are towards the food and the atmosphere. The menu is not complicated, with items that have quirky names that pair well with what you're ordering. My favorite being the Danger! burger (it's hot hot hot ) which is almost always on my mind if I'm there for lunch. The downside for me generally gravitates towards the service. It's hit-or-miss on whether the service will be timely or delayed. While never trending towards outright bad, at its worst you'll be waiting far longer than you'd like for a coffee refill, which is where the only minus for me comes into play. This has been my experience more often than not, but it is not a deal breaker insomuch as it is just something I've come to accept. Maybe it's due to their popularity (hence the lines referenced earlier) but overall this is my only caveat with fully recommended them as a local must-go spot for breakfast or lunch.

We're still in Oceanside over Presidents' weekend, and so decided to finally try this classic Oside breakfast joint. We anticipated this since I read previous reviews - but we did have to wait almost an hour after putting our name in at the front. Unfortunately they don't do text message notifications (my suggestion), so you do have to wait in person in order to hear our name being called. Ordered the eggs Benedict (only available on weekends) and chicken fried steak. Excellent chicken fried steak, and okay eggs benny. I suspect it's a canned hollandaise and not homemade. Overall, a pretty solid breakfast spot - if you don't mind the wait. Cute surf memorabilia decor/casual diner vibes.

Their getting 1 star, not for the food, or how clean the restaurant is, or how friendly the staff is. Cause I didn't have a chance to experience anything 1 star is for parking. People have to get out of the car first, then park. So I will not be back

Awesome service, Real corned beef hash not from the can!!! With the influx of newer restaurants in the area there's finally not a huge line which is good for me lol. Clean windows, clean tables, great food. It's insane how well taken care of the restaurant is and how nice and welcoming the staff is. The coffee cake is moist and pillowy with a little bit of crispiness from the crumble. The biscuits are warm and golden brown. Literally about to tip Kristen really well as deserved for her service. I'm putting it out there hands down the best breakfast spot in O'side at an affordable price.

Walking in is so cool. Love the decor. Put yourself on the list and find a place to chill. They have lots of indoor waiting room. After a 20 min wait I thought maybe we were skipped. Luckily I did, as we got skipped, but seated immediately. Our server was amazing. Super friendly. We did wait a bit for food, and it came out at different times, but not too spread out for it to get cold while we waited.

Amazing! We visit Oceanside 1-2 times each year and have somehow missed eating at BBC. That will never happen again. Our inaugural visit was Super Bowl Sunday morning around 11:30am and we had a very short wait...maybe 10 minutes. There are different seating options: booths, round and rectangular tables, and bar seating. It is roomy and easy to get around. It almost seems there could be a couple more tables squeezed in but it all felt good and easy to walk by to get around. The food!! They have a pretty good list of items to choose from with breakfast and lunch options. Everyone should be able to find something their liking. We ordered the chile verde omelette/hash-browns, mahi mahi burrito with chile verde sauce, mushroom burger/fries, corned beef breakfast, and 2 sides of coffee cake (huge slices) was chosen. I read something about BBC being known for their coffee cake. We could see why. The flavors were amazing. My son said it was all clearly made with love. I'm not sure I could explain it any better. I didn't see anything out of place on any of our plates. Food was overflowing and just tasty. The brewed ice tea was flawless. That will definitely bring me back. Our server, Christine, seemed to know what we needed. We asked for salsa and she brought out a homemade salsa and hot sauce. She also finished my sentence regarding a to-go cup for my tea. Everyone seemed happy to be working there and together. They were just all in concert. The place was clean and very cleverly decorated in a surfer style with hanging surfboards and skateboards. The bathroom was the best. Very clean and super cute ocean painted walls/ stalls.

My first time here and I ordered the special which was a breakfast sandwich and it was huge and tasty. Service was fast. This place is like a diner but they do have a large menu.

Our first morning in Oceanside and it was pouring. We decided on this place for breakfast and were delighted! The coffee was excellent. I had the ABC omelette, Avocado, Bacon, Cheese with a side of biscuit. There were lots of options but I figured the avocado omelette was enough. We both had the coffee cake as our 2nd side. Staff & service were also excellent.

My fiancé and I am getting married in Carlsbad soon so when we come down from LA to visit Oceanside/Carlsbad we love stopping by Beach Break Cafe. The food is always delicious - our fav menu item is the chicken fried steak with hash browns and over easy eggs. This time we tried the soup of the day which was clam chowder - also delicious as well as the cheese bread that came with the soup. The staff are all very friendly from our experience and the restaurant always seems pretty busy but not too busy where we have to wait a long time for a table. Good vibes and good food is always appreciated so we will keep coming back!

When we got there parking lot was full so thinking we had to wait. But no. We parked on the street and walking right in. Fast and kind service, food was also great. Too bad I live so far away. Lol. If I'm around this area definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Come here early! The lot was already pretty full right before 8am on a Sunday. Service is pretty quick with how busy they were. Thankfully they spot looked fully staffed. Our waiter was a young kid and very polite and attentive. We had viewed photos beforehand so we knew we'd be going with the chicken fried steak breakfast. The omelettes that were being served around at other tables looked beyond huge and tasty! The steak was crispy and hot! The gravy was so tasty and seasoned very well. I'd have to say this is one of my top spots for chicken fried steak and I only have two. The coffee cake was a great addition to our meal. Started with salty and ended up with some sweetness. My fave combo. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. The tables were clean as well as the restroom. It can get a little loud inside as to how crowded they got around 8.

Brunch spot that hits the spot! Vibes here are homey and great. I came in a group of 4 on a Saturday morning around 11am. It was packed and I thought we would have to wait at least an hour. To our surprise, we only waited 15 minutes or so! What we ordered: Awesome Omelettes: one of the best omelettes I've had in a while. The shrimp inside makes the omelette so much tastier than normal. Corned Beef Hash: standard corned beef hash with tasty potatoes. The egg on top helps with the texture. Banana Crunch French Toast: recommend as a plate to share! These have a crunchy layer of oatmeal, which makes the texture so much better. Fish Tacos: loved these. They were fully loaded tacos, and the mahi mahi was not too dry. I also ordered a hot chocolate, which was normal, but loved that it had all the fixin's (whipped cream and sprinkles).

Excellent food at a great price. I am sorry I didn't find this place sooner. I had the steak and eggs which was cooked as ordered and tasted delicious. The service and atmosphere are excellent. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!!!!

Oh WOW! My husband was so right!!!! This place is YUMmy! Chili verde omelette. Get it. You're welcome. I cannot fully explain it, just get it. Try it. I'm a 'mild is spicy' type, but living abroad helped me venture out a lot. Admittedly i would have never tried this had my hubby not ordered it. First bite I immediately regretted not getting it. Thankfully he's a sweet hubby that gave me a portion of his. Got the fried steak and biscuits n gravy that time and it was ok, way too heavy but it's supposed to be that way. Biscuit n gravy isn't to my southern roots standard. Sorry SoCal, I've yet to find a place who can make the official taste *wink*. But, it was all good, and best I've had here. Anyways back to the AMAZING chili verde. Ahhh how I wish I'd gotten it. But what I ate was THE BEST breakfast ever! Yes folks. THE BEST! Sooooo this trip here we are. It did NOT disappoint. 100% incredible. Every. Single. Bite! See photos. Man truly the best. First to last bite. It's A LOT so hubby and I shared it. He got soup of the day. Chicken n rice. He liked it. We got home potatoes and coffee cake as our sides. I forgot how sweet coffee cake is. So next time we will get something else. Again. It was exactly as it should be but we just aren't wanting super sweet things. So this isn't a kick to Beach Break. The did it all so well. It's personal choice. Home potatoes perfectly cooked. Great on their own but I eat with ketchup. Oh and hot chocolate because it was 33 DEGREES in Oceanside! We needed warmed up and it helped. So pretty and yummy. Not overly sweet, just right! Summer was our server. She was so great. Came as we needed her and never too much. We never had to call her. She just knew when to come check on us. She's so great! She loves chili verde too. Ridiculously yummy, and not heavy so no guilt afterwards. Ahhhh go get it!!!! Ambiance... surf boards galore and surfer mags decor and signed pictures by local famous ppl like BRUCE! and beyond. Bathroom is cool too. So go!!!!

My wife and I stopped by this place on our way down to San Diego. Saw it had some good reviews on yelp. Stopped by and they got us seated on the patio right away. Which was great because we had our dog with us. The food was tasty. We got an omelette and a scramble. Both were excellent with fresh ingredients, great portion sizes, and excellent value. The service was exceptional too. Would definitely recommend going back as the location was great, plenty of parking around, and inside make the experience very enjoyable.

The food's delectable here, and our service was great. This restaurant is pet friendly as well. Outdoor seating is offered. I tried the Coffee Cake, Egg Benedict with Potatoes, Hash Browns with Cheese, and a Side of Bacon. Everything was appetizing to me, especially the Egg Benedict. The setting was laidback and relaxed.

I love this place for breakfast. If you're a local and never tried this you are missing out. They have the best corn beef hash. The banana crunch French toast is so yummy! Their California veggie omelet is delicious too! Their coffee cake is to die for. I love it so much! That's why we ordered it there last time to go but they forgot to include it in my husbands breakfast order to go home to me, I was so excited about it too. That was the main thing I was excited about! But I'ts okay it was busy that morning and customer service told us to stop by when we have time. I recommend eating breakfast here if you want something yummy, definitely dine in too I feel like you would get the whole experience. The decorations inside are nice too.
