Beach Lodge Motel Dunedin

Great location for a stay at St. Kinda beach /Dunedin and good value too. The 1- bedroom unit had everything we needed. It was great to have air-conditioning as well as cooking facilities. They toilet/ shower and kitchen areas are a bit dated but there was plenty of hot water and everything worked just fine. Great to have parking right outside the unit. We didn't use the guest laundry but it looked good. ($5 ). Nearby regular bus services to town too.

Beautiful stay at Beach Lodge Motel. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate me in staying an extra night. Great location next to the beach. I was lucky enough to have fantastic weather so after work each night I could enjoy walks on the beach. Rooms were cozy, clean and had everything I needed. Would recommend and will be back :)

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were great and had lots of local knowledge to share. Personal touches such as welcome chocolates and a hand written card made us feel welcome. The main room was light, airy and spacious and had a modern feel. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and serviceable but dated. I got the impression that it's work in progress. Thanks for your hospitality 🙂

A very old motel. The place needs some upgrading especially the taps in the kitchen basin as both the cold and hot water taps are separated. So you will not get warm water through the taps and the two taps are located at about 10 cm apart. Finds it difficult to use the two taps as the water is either too cold to wash the dishes using the cold water tap or too hot if you use the hot water tap.

The Beach Lodge Motel was a fantastic place to stay. We were greeted by the owners who were friendly and helpful and showed us to our accommodation. The sun was shining into a spotlessly clean bedroom and lounge with couch and coffee table. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that’s needed and the separate shower, toilet and bathroom had wonderful big white towels. It is close to the beach with a shop across the road. We will definitely return next time we are in Dunedin and highly recommend the Beach Lodge Motel as a great place to stay.

Roomy unit, older style but clean and tidy. Nice welcome cake. Shower very low pressure. Toilet cistern faulty - water running constantly. Staff friendly. We had a comfortable stay. Quiet. Rooms well serviced every day. Rubbish emptied and fresh towels as needed.

This property, while older, has been given a very cozy facelift by the new managers, Anouk and Jared. My husband and I were weary from travel, and slept soundly and comfortably. We even spent extended time in the room on a rainy Friday, and enjoyed tea and Netflix. It’s very obvious that the managers care about the standard of customer satisfaction and cleanliness. The location is right across from the park and St. Kilda Beach. It’s a nice retreat. We recommend staying here. Disregard the 2 star review. This place is on the 3 star stay. It’s not one of those hotels with deceptive ratings, I wouldn’t waste time writing a glowing review.

We stayed in their 3bedroom villa. It was comfortable and the heatpump was quite powerful that it was able to heat the 3 rooms at night. Although there was only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet (as stated in their website), it still served its purpose for a place to stay. Staff were lovely and helpful and very customer-oriented (had some issues with the villa that they attended to right away). Villa had an ample parking that could fit around 3 cars. I highly recommend this place and would love to book again when we go back to Dunedin.
