This stay was extremely distressing, especially because this trip was meant to be a birthday vacation and was completely ruined.
At check-in, the front desk told us we could speak with the manager the next day to request a refund due to the poor conditions. We agreed to stay based on that assurance. We also requested a lower floor since the elevator was broken—only to later discover through reviews that it has apparently been broken for months, which felt very misleading.
Carrying our luggage upstairs was physically difficult. The hotel smelled terrible, and the room was far worse. It had a strong urine odor, stained sheets and towels, a leaking and dirty toilet, a clogged sink, mold in the shower with barely any water pressure, non-working AC, and an extremely uncomfortable bed. We wanted to watch a movie to pass the time, so I called the front desk for the Wi-Fi information. I was informed that the Wi-Fi does not work at night and is only available during the day, which I found quite odd. I ended up not sleeping at all that night; it was the longest night of my life.
When we checked out early, we waited at least 40 minutes to speak with the manager. The front desk staff was apparently “texting her,” which I found to be unprofessional. Eventually, a woman came in who I later learned was the manager; her name was Lisset or something similar. She did not initially introduce herself. The manager was dismissive and rude, stating that the previous front desk "made a mistake" and refused to issue a full refund despite the circumstances.
To further worsen this experience, a personal item of mine went missing. Due to the stained pillowcase, I wrapped my pillow in my sweater while sleeping. When I returned to retrieve it, staff claimed they could not locate it. The loss of personal property under these circumstances is deeply concerning.
This experience fell far below any reasonable standard of hospitality, cleanliness, or customer service. We were misled, inconvenienced, disrespected, and ultimately denied fair resolution. I am documenting this formally as I intend to pursue this matter further, due to the misleading information provided and the conditions endured.
Guests should not be deceived by online photos. We ended up staying the last few nights at the Central Park Hotel, where we experienced the level of cleanliness, professionalism, and respect that should be expected. I strongly urge others to think carefully before booking this property.
The only good thing is their location.
