Beach Village at The Del, LXR Hotels & Resorts

We rented one of the 5 beach front cottages. We took the whole single story cottage, rooms #1106, #1107, #1108. (3 bedrooms and kitchen, firepit) for 5 nights for our sons, grandson and daughter in law. Absolutely wonderful time. We have been going to either the beach front cottages or over to the Shore House at the Del for the last 8 years. We alternate times between Summertime and Thanksgiving but sometimes both. Our concierge point person has almost always been Sasha Robert who does a tremendous job of getting us everything we need from hard to get reservations at the new Nobu (when it had just opened) etc. to getting us in to great seating in the Crown Room at the Del for Thanksgiving Day Buffet to ice rink side holiday Frost Bite Lounge with fire pits. When staying at the Village you also have access to all day private dining and bar with great views of the Pacific in what they now call the Ocean Club (The remodeled Winsor Cottage) Now mind you, the cottages are expensive and not for the faint of heart. We use to live in San Diego (3 different times) and starting when we first lived there, we would only visit the Del's Sun Deck Bar for cocktails and music on Sundays then would take a walk along water and in front of the 5 cottages always wondering what it would be like to stay in one of these, BUT, was way too expensive. However quite a few years later and success in business, I am now semi retired and enjoy the facilities and taking the family for these vacations. In fact we have reservations for Thanksgiving at the Shore House as the cottages were booked up. When at the Shore House we always rent 2 of the suites facing the water for the family and have just as much fun there.

I have always wanted to stay at this iconic hotel. My husband finally booked it for me and I was very happy. It is a gorgeous hotel. The service starting with the concierge Sasha was amazing. They went over and beyond hospitality. The grounds are impeccable. My room was amazing and the ride out to the ocean, we had the best time ever so much to do and I just had a wonderful time. I can’t wait to go back again.

We’re currently staying at the Beach Village at Hotel Del Coronado, and something really touching happened that we just had to share. Our daughter Athena set up a little seashell and rock shop right outside our room — just a fun little activity she came up with on her own. We casually mentioned it to the Concierge Team, and what happened next totally blew us away. Alyssa, Alex, Sasha, Laura, and Will all came by and bought from her shop — contributing real money and making her feel like a true entrepreneur. They didn’t have to do that. But they did — with big smiles and kind words that made her day (and ours). It’s little things like this that make a vacation unforgettable. The concierge team here doesn’t just assist — they care. They’ve been quick to respond via text for anything we’ve needed, but this was next-level hospitality. It was thoughtful, personal, and just plain sweet. We’re still here enjoying our stay, but already this trip has become one of our most special thanks to their kindness.

Disappointing in many ways stay at the Beach Village at The Del. So many mistakes. Most of all taking an additional an unauthorized $2,500 from my account for our stay for 5 nights. Promise i will get back the overcharged amount in 7 business days! What a joke. Having only been given access to our, to be honest expensive room, at 7pm on the first night was ridiculous. Having housekeeping only coming each morning at 8.30 is a joke. Room wasn't made up once in 5 days as we weren't getting up to placate housekeeping. What quality summer holiday hotel sends housekeeping to a room at 8.30 every morning???? By the way the beach is closed for 50% of the year because of pollution. They never tell you this in their promotion if the Del on the Pacific. Parking is a disgrace, minimum $59 a night for guests.

Beach Village is the ultimate in luxury, service, and beauty! Sasha is the very best in customer experience! We have been coming to Hotel Del for 15 years - Sasha makes it special every time. She is extremely professional yet perfectly personal! She is the best of Hilton!

Couldn’t have more pleased with everything/everyone. From the valets to the concierge folks all the way to housekeeping. We felt at home. Beach Village staff made this trip one of the best our family has been on. Thank you Beach Village!! See you next July.

I met with Security that was cruising the property. Delightful experience met with Abukar who was walking around and checking everything to be just right. Wonderful experience, wonderful people. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit!! I encourage everybody to come and visit, often, and stay for at least four nights

Beautiful property but will not be returning. While the rooms were clean and views were beautiful, there are so many other five star resorts that actually behave like five star resorts... ||||First, check-in is at 4pm. We got in early that day and had traveled with our 3 small children, I called to ask if our room would be ready early. They were unable to accommodate, fine - but the room wasn't ready until 4:30pm. Frustrating. ||||Second, the language around the Ocean Club is insanely misleading. Part of the reason we booked at Beach Village was to get what appeared to be access to complimentary breakfast and snacks - key for traveling with little ones! When we went for breakfast the first morning I was shocked when we got the bill for $160... Turns out Beach Village just gives you access to the Club but you still pay for everything unless you opt into the $150/person per day (which you can do staying at any other room at the Del - no need to pay the Beach Village upcharge...) Not to mention, we had a very mixed experience with service at Ocean Club. ||||Lastly, while the property is beautiful, there are minimal activities and staff were less than helpful. We usually stay another brand of luxury resorts that offer so much to do for the family and we were disappointed in the absolute lack of things to do on property. We had the concierge book an outing for us and asked them to move dates; they said they did and I followed up multiple times because I never received a confirmation email. When I called the company directly, they had not moved the trip... Simple things that should make our stay easier, they dropped the ball on. ||It rained a bit during our stay and staff just never bothered to refill towels at the pools or pick up the dirty towels. We had to go to the different pools just to find clean towels. The most helpful, kind and friendly staff were the Housekeeping staff - they were lovely and always smiling. A lot of the other staff seemed to be annoyed with guests.. ||||Overall - disappointed in our stay. I used to come to the Del growing up and was so excited to bring my own little family back but realized it's quite overpriced for the value of the stay.
