Beach Waves Grill

A fun little place in IRB on Gulf Blvd. We stopped in for an early dinner and were able to be seating right away in the back bar. Even though we're in our early 60's it seemed like we were the youngest people there. The server was awesome and waited on us immediately. They have a decent selection of beers and a full bar. They state that all of their drinks are made: "with a wine base liquor is a fermented beverage flavored to mimic the taste of a traditional distilled spirit". Sounded intereting but wasn't willing to spend the money to just try it. I did try the Grouper Philly sandwich which was very good. I'm always on a quest to try Grouper served a different way and they did a great job. My wife ordered the Grouper Rueben and also liked it very much. We both ordered hush puppies and would agree with a another reviewer that they had good flavor but were very dense. All in all not a bad place and my only reason for not doing 5 stars is the back bar was super small and I felt like our neighbors were sitting super close. Despite that we'd go back and try the front dining room. Good food.

We liked this place! The grouper sandwich is so moist and my husband loved his clam strips. We didn’t enjoy the coleslaw and thought the hippies were rather dense. My youngest son’s grilled cheese was cooked perfectly, the fries are delicious and the bbq chicken sandwich is good too! Definitely worth stopping in! The waitress we had was very pleasant and attentive.

We absolutely love, love, love the grouper nuggets! Food is great, the house salad is awesome. 100 foot walk to Indian Rocks Beach! The crab and corn chowder soup is delicious!

Our last evening in Florida, and drove down here for dinner. A secluded little spot right off the beach. Linda was very friendly and welcoming. Food was great, plentiful, and priced affordable. Will definitely come back again. Corn & crab chowder, shrimp basket, scallops. Also peanut butter pie.😋

This place is a casual gem in the area. Food & service were awesome. I'd definitely suggest the BBQ bacon wrapped scallops and the blackened grouper cheeks for the appetizers. The shrimp, scallops, and grouper tacos were all huge hits with my family. The beer of the month for $6 was also pretty sweet. The one complaint I heard from my family was "the tacos were too full", so a definite return spot for us.

Phoned in order for take out and Sam was great at helping place order. Had grouper sandwich w/fries and mahi mahi sandwich w/hush puppies. Both were very good and would get again. For dessert, had peanut butter pie and key lime, again we liked it. Place was crowded and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food and atmosphere. I am looking forward to trying the chowder and some shrimp soon.

Service was good and quick. Very cute causal spot not too far from the beach. The crab cakes and hush puppies were a hit at our table. Very generous size crab cakes with a good amount of crab.

Perfect spot for lunch when you have a beach day. Stopped in for shrimp tacos and they were delicious. Service was great and food was really good. Highly recommend for lunch or a cocktail while on a beach day.

Exactly what you would want out of a beachside restaurant. Small, casual, charming, with friendly staff & solid food. Had great kids chicken tenders (we kept snacking off of them too), good French fries & great grouper tacos. Will definitely be back.

Delightful local gem. They told us to call when we were 20 minutes away to be put on top of the waitlist. Worked fine. Meeting visitors who wanted to see the sunset over the gulf. Found this quaint spot. Sea scallops, shrimp dishes all cooked to perfection. Pleasant staff slightly shorthanded like everyplace on the beach. Walked half a block to watch the sunset. Ambiance amazing! No loud music, annoying DJs or lousy musicians. Just the soothing banter of conversations! Very nice!

This is such a fun beachy bar and restaurant. The service was excellent and the food came out quickly and hot. There is a small, friendly bar and a bunch of surfboard tables We had oysters, grouper cheeks, bacon wrapped shrimp, and a grouper dinner. All of our food was well prepared and tasty. There is parking right out in front.

This is our first time here and it was fantastic! The service was friendly and the food was great! We are so glad that we found parking and a wonderful restaurant. Very cute with a nice outside eating area which is covered with ceiling fans. The tables were miniature surf boards. Next time I will take more photos. Reasonable prices too.

Quick delivery via DoorDash; service in the restaurant is also quick. This is my go-to restaurant for delivery because of the speed and the delicious food. Love the black bean burger; it's my new favorite. I add provolone cheese and I paid an up charge to have baked potato (SO yummy) as my side. Baked potato available after 5PM so I prefer to order after 5PM.

Super delicious! Everything we ordered was fantastic! Try the Mexican street corn if you get a chance!

We came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. They weren't too crowded. They have a pretty mural outside their building. All the tables are shaped like a surf board, which is unique. The chairs were really comfortable. The way they were shaped on the back part kind of hugs your back. It felt really good and comfortable, especially when your back is hurting. The service was good. Our server Linda was nice and friendly. We ordered Beachin Burger. It was really good. It was a good size, nice and juicy, and thick. Best restaurant burger I have had in a long time. I highly recommend it. We also ordered the Shrimp Tacos. It came with three tacos plus rice and black beans. It was good. The pico was spicy so we ordered on the side. I highly recommend coming to Beach Waves Grill. It also was fairly quick. We were in and out in less than a hour and we weren't rushed. We also got a pretty view of the sunset from our table.

Our favorite place to visit in Indian Rocks Beach! They have the BEST fried ice cream (in fact, this is where I discovered that there's such a thing) and I'm not even kidding, their lemonade is soo amazing!! Every time we come, we always place a huge order for, both, fried ice cream and lemonade. Their calamari is sooo good too. Who am I kidding, everything is so good! And, they gave us a lemonade on the house, how kind! Thank you, Beach Waves Grill, for the super friendly service! Until next time!

We had the grouper cheek with hush puppies and shrimp tacos. The tacos were really good, the drizzle was spicy but not overly spicy. Grab your drink hot not hurt your mouth hot. Both the regular and strawberry mojitos were very good. Service was great. There was a large family and the waitress kept apologizing for not paying enough attention but she was doing a great job. If we didn't live out of state we would be here more often.

Loved this place! Stephanie provided great service and the drinks were great. We had gator bites, bacon wrapped bbq scallops, and raw oysters. Everything tasted amazing!

We never miss a chance to stop in when our friends are in town. Great spot in Indian Rocks Beach. Its small but mighty in friendliness and taste! All open but undercover. You are steps from the beach! Daily specials and the server is more than happy to answer any questions you may have and the food is delicious!

As soon as you come into this restaurant, you feel the relaxing Florida vibe. The frozen strawberry margaritas are absolutely to die for. The grouper dinner is outstanding and our waitress Linda was excellent! My family and I will definitely be back.

Our waitress was very nice! The food, not so much. Peel n eat shrimp are not cleaned, so you get to either diy or eat the shrimp poop. We both ordered grilled scallops and they were not seasoned at all and were cooked to the point of being rubbery. I ordered a strawberry mojito and it's only flavor was extremely tart. There's no real ambiance in the dining section. This is a beach bar trying to be a restaurant. For all the seafood options in the area, this one can be skipped.

This place is a must try in the area! Cute place with amazing food and the service girls were super nice. They were packed, which is a good sign, so try and call ahead for a reservation. And order the COCONUT SHRIMP! Everyone at our table has been talking about it for days hahah. Thanks Beach Waves Grill!

Best grouper I've had in Florida! Ordered take out and wasn't disappointed. Got the Mexican street corn as a side and devoured it too. A+

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS PLACE! We went around 5 for an early dinner, it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. They had good specials going on. We got the grouper Ruben, and fish tacos. The hushpuppies were great, they were sweet and savory. The food was a 10/10. They price point was a 10/10 even the drinks were priced great. We are outside on the back patio type thing. Temperature was perfect, and there was just so much to look at. We would go back every year.

Beach waves Grill was excellent. The food was great. I had the mahi tacos. Mahi was not dry. My husband had the grilled chicken dinner that was also not dry and the barbecue sauce was so good. We even tried the Cajun fried gator which was amazingly tasty not dry and not tough. And our waitress. Neveah, we super sweet, accommodating and hospital. This is a total comebacker.

BEST PLACE TO EAT IN INDIAN SHORES!!!! we have eaten at multiple places throughout our one week trip, and this beats all. the street corn is the best street corn i've ever had and the chicken sandwhich was off the chain. the grouper bites were also amazing!! service was friendly and quick. this was relatively cheap and it's so so so so good food. the inside is very cute and decorated to look like surfing. so cute.

I went to Beach Waves Grill with a friend after our beach day. We had no wait for a table, which was great, but we e had to sit inside. No big deal - outside was loud with lots of people, so that's actually preferred for us! The service wasn't great. Our waitress was nice enough but very forgetful. She also didn't seem to understand some of our questions regarding the menu or the restaurant's alcohol offerings. Our food did come out very quickly, which was great, but we were having to remind her about condiments requests, drink refills, and silverware pretty frequently. I totally understand that it was busy, but she was doing this with every table - which we noticed. The food was exactly what you'd expect for a place like this. Lots of fish offerings, and good but not great. I got the black bean burger, which was pretty charred, but still had an ok flavor. My friend got the buffalo shrimp and a salad, which she said were decent. I went for the sunset margarita (a frozen mix of their house margarita and their strawberry margarita), and I really enjoyed it! Definitely the best thing that I had there and, combined with the yummy hushpuppies, are why I'm giving Beach Waves a 3 and not a lower score. Maybe my experience was a fluke, but I'm not sure that I'd go back.

if you look over my reviews you will find very few occasions where I visit the same place 2 nights in a row, high praise in my book. We ate dinner on Friday night and had to return on Saturday night with our cousin in tow. 5/5 Great - Hidden Gem, the wait time was half that of other places. Corn and Crab chowder was superb. Ahi Tuna appetizer and best of all was the shrimp appetizer with the herb and lemon butter seasoning, very unusual and just spectacular. Florida Orange IPA on tap was the best beer I had all week on vacation. Oh wait, the service and dealing with 2 small issues we had were immediately solved to our benefit. They are pros and want you to be happy. Wife had a salad and added shrimp on top, they gave her a mountain of shrimp! 4/5 Good - Location and outdoor air. The pricing is very reasonable, we could afford to go back and eat there again and glad we did. Wine was good as well. Key lime pie was very good, not my mother's key lime pie, but come on who can compare to that. The grouper tacos I had were very good 3/5 Ok - The bar is only beer and wine. We personally prefer this for 2 reasons, first it allows for speedier delivery, you don't have to wait for some custom creation that takes time. Second, we aren't big cocktail folks. Just thought you should know. 2/5 Meh - the bacon wrapped scallops in BBQ sauce were exactly as advertised and as a Northern boy, I did not like it. Maybe for Southern tastes only? Kitchen took it back, which was generous imo. 1/5 Bad - nothing

My family and I had such a lovely dinner here. Although we weren't able to sit by the outdoor area, it was still close enough to the beach that we were able to step out and enjoy the sunset while waiting for the food. We split a bunch of stuff - ahi tuna was delicious, as well as the grouper cheeks and crab cakes. Our favorite was the royal red shrimp though. Wow, the shrimps were so easy to peel, and very fresh and juicy. We will definitely be back!

The best food we had on our vacation to Indian Rocks Beach. Nice casual vibe inside with big windows for lots of natural light. Friendly service: We sat down for dinner but our toddler had a meltdown while ordering, so they graciously switched our food to takeout with no fuss. We really enjoyed the seafood (why else do you travel to the ocean?!). The grouper cheek appetizer was a nice sized portion of fish; the bites were hardy and chewy, so they felt substantial. My wife got the shrimp & scallops dinner; smaller portion of course but still tasty. I got the mahi mahi, which was a larger piece of fish, well-seasoned, and filling. We got our fish either blackened or pan-seared (you can also get it friend). Both options tasted about the same: good flavor and not too salty. The other seafood we had or saw advertised at restaurants was either not as tasty or very expensive; this fish hit the spot for us! The sides were solid, though not as outstanding as the fish. Fries were very plentiful. The rice & beans side was large but I'd say could have had a few more beans (mostly white rice). The Mexican street corn had a lot of corn topped with a savory orange-ish sauce that we couldn't quite place (it looked like cheese but wasn't). Finally, the cole slaw was a bit saucy and sweet for our taste.

I found this place among the many places to eat in Largo. They were extremely accommodating for our large party for lunch when I called ahead to let them know we were coming. Friendly service & good food, the Mahi sandwich was especially delicious. Thanks again Beach Waves Grill!

Service was very slow, food took over 45 minutes to arrive. Server was not as attentive and waited a long time to order after we placed appetizers. Food was nothing to write home about.

The seafood and corn chowder was excellent. I had Grouper cheeks were very tasty and nicely seasoned. I also remember a key lime pie that really tasted good. And it's next to the beach! Nice bar too.Server was busy and good.

Food was on point...grouper cheeks were delicious. Had the fried shrimp which were fried perfectly...loved the batter. Baked potato could have been softer. The mussels in wine sauce were delicious...I could make a meal from dipping the toast in the sauce. Atmosphere of a favorite neighborhood bar with some great food!

It was a small local bar with really good food. The wait staff made us feel like we where one of the regulars. Highly recommended!!

No refill from server hush puppies were hard and burnt. Shrimp were good and so were the fries. The coleslaw was good aswell.

The food here is tasty, but the location is awful. Parking is shared with several other businesses and it's also available to people who are going to the beach, so it was difficult to find an open space. We actually looked for a space, couldn't find one and left to find somewhere else to eat. We had to make a u-turn and come back past the restaurant and a spot happened to open up, so we took it. There is an outdoor seating area by the bar with a view of the street and indoor seating as well. We chose to sit outside. The service was good and the price was in line with similar restaurants in the area. This won't be my first pick the next time I'm in the area because of the lack of parking.

Came over to our favorite local restaurant for some lunch and took advantage of the Grouper Ruben sandwich on special that day. The portion size of the sandwich was generous and the flavor with the fish, dressing, and sauerkraut was delicious! One note of warning, you need several napkins, but it is worth it! One of my daughters also enjoyed the Grouper Ruben and the other had the Philly Steak sandwich. My mom went for the bacon wrapped shrimp and found it had a lot of flavor as well. Thank you Beach Waves crew for trying different dishes. For the rest of you, take advantage of when they have the Grouper Ruben special. Well worth it!

Great little restaurant, very close to the beach. Friendly, quick service. Good, tasty food at decent prices. We really enjoyed our sea scallops, clam strips, and grouper bites. Drinks were also very good. Perfect place to sit outside, soak up some sun, and enjoy the local offerings.

This is a good local spot that is steps from the beach. Parking is tricky bc there are only a few spaces in front and on the side. The decor is trendy. There is no AC but windows and doors are open to allow a breeze. Our waitress Linda was awesome! We tried the fried grouper cheeks that were delicious. For our entree, we had grilled scallops, fries, Caesar salad and Mexican corn. The scallops were delicious with good seasoning. The fries were crispy. The Caesar salad was good. The Mexican street corn was just ok. It is basically can corn with a creamy sauce on top. Overall a good experience and super convenient if you are at the beach for the day.

Very good atmosphere, the food was incredible, I highly recommend the fried Cajun grouper. The service was also top notch, it was a well deserved 5/5. Bonus points for playing Tame Impala.

Loved it here!!! We will be going back again and again. I had really low expectations going into this place. (I figured it was another strip mall restaurant trap) They certainly did WOW us!!!!! I have not seen a service staff be this team oriented in years. They all helped each other, worked hard, and made sure everyone had what they needed. Food was excellent and you will for sure want to come back!!!! So stop reading and go eat here!

Food was below sub-par. Ordered coconut shrimp; had an artificial coconut flavor. We also ordered the " filet , wrapped in bacon." This was clearly not a "filet". The meat was ordered medium. It was " boot leather". We also ordered drinks, which turned out to be out of cans. Overall, disappointing and not as advertised.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great ! They serve beer and wine , no hard liquor which is fine . The prices were completely reasonable and our waitress was super patient with my toddler which means everything to me ! Not the most spacious place but it works , would most definitely visit again !

Great restaurant right by the beach! Kids friendly, clean, price was right! They have a good menu selection. We had scallop and shrimp entree and fresh oysters. Seafood was fresh and excellent to the taste!

After leaving another restaurant due to a reservation issue, thankfully Beach Waves Grill made room for us at nearly 9 pm on a busy Saturday night. The woman on the phone was gracious and kind, and our waitress was a breath of fresh air after coming from another restaurant. She radiated warmth and was super efficient in the ordering process. Our food was delicious and the bottled beer super cold and refreshing. We ordered a dozen oysters, the grilled grouper with coleslaw, rice and beans, a cheeseburger, crab cakes, and chicken tacos. Down to earth, friendly, with delicious food and drink. What else can you ask for? Thank you, Beach Waves for turning around our night.

One of our favorite hidden nooks to hit when in or around Indian Rocks Beach. The service is always great, there are always excellent specials to be had...and you're literally steps away from the beach. This place has the true beach bar vibe, and the food is always tasty to boot. There is free parking around the building, but they are first come first served...and parking is always a bit challenging around the beach. This place is a def stop when you're around IRB!

If you're looking for fresh, consistently good seafood that's reasonably priced, Beach Waves is the place to try. Probably best known to locals over tourists, we've been coming here for years. Always tasty food and great service. Mostly beer and wine with a few canned cocktails, if that's your thing. Casual ambiance, come as you are kind of place. It is smaller and doesn't take reservations, so don't show up with a dozen friends. But great for date night or the family, can accommodate 4-6 people pretty easily.

I almost don't know where to start with all my accolades for this place. I will try to be concise. Kelsey, our bartender was awesome and took great care of my sister and I. Place is super cute and bathrooms were clean! The food- CHEF'S KISS ! Today they had a stone crab special for 23.99. I really make the best stone crabs and don't often have them out- but I have to say they were beautifully reheated and the mustard sauce is on point! I ate every bite and the portion was great! My sister had the wings and she ate them all! We cannot wait to come back and try something new. Every dish I saw looked fantastic! Beer was cold and a great value! Mike and Sarah have a treasure in this place and have wonderful staff! I will see them again real soon!!!

Food and drinks were good. Nothing high end but a great place to grab a quick lunch and drink. Felt so bad for the waitress though. She was busting her butt to give good service and they were so short staffed that she kept apologizing that she was taking so long. Cute place.
