Beachcomber St. Augustine

Great location with great food and great service. We enjoyed our lunch immensely. Started off with some of the best calamari I've ever had. Parking can get tricky but they had someone directing cars to available spots. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back again. The fish of the day was Triggerfish and prepared beautifully. Love the dill sauce on the side. The brie burger was quite unique and delicious.

Winter Vaca.. this place has a great chill vibe, staff was joking around and having fun. Manager can't recall his name, from Montana was great. The food and drinks were outstanding.. can't go wrong here! Steps from the beach, parking is tight but they have a guy to get you to spot. Take your shoes off and stay awhile! 🍻🍹🍸

We met the owner and he was extremely nice and funny. Our server was so nice and attentive, too. We got the Red Shrimp from Argentina, Voodoo wings and the fish tacos. For drinks, the tropical breeze and the jalapeño margarita. Everything was amazing! We'll be back! Go OSU! ;)

Fresh air, flora, and sand. In the dunes. Tasty steamed prawns w/cold beer. Very ample serving for one... Or easily enough to share. 👍

Highly recommend! Our first time visiting the Beachcomber Restaurant and it was a great lunch and drinks. Our server was Bethany, and she was fantastic! Super nice, hard working and she made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The drinks were outstanding too. Thank you - we will be back!

Dog friendly, beachside seating- the hostess brought my dog water right away. The blackened chicken nachos were so good!! The service was amazing!! Fun atmosphere, with excellent hospitality

Food was ok to be direct. Nothing over the top, just a regular bar food. Not the cleanest, but expected since it's a beach bar! Service was good and that's what made it a little better. Parking is horrible! So NOT on the beach.

We spent the month traveling through Florida and this was one of the top restaurants we ate at. Very impressed with the price/quality of food. We had the fried fish with red beans and rice as the side. This was better than any Cajun restaurant I have tried. My wife got the fried shrimp which was fantastic as well. It had a great non- greasy batter. It is also dog friendly which was a plus. I have a full size truck which was a little tricky to park but they had an attendant to help find a spot that would fit my truck. Wish more restaurants were this good. Definitely worth going to if you are in the area.

Laid back, cool place located on the beach. Both indoor and outdoor seating, we chose to dine outdoors. The staff is friendly and our waitress was attentive and checked on us often. Our orders started with Minorcan Clam Chowder - chunky and just spicy enough and so delicious! The Sicilian Calamari was lightly breaded and tender. Loved the pop of pickled banana peppers mixed in with a parmesan topping. The mains of Chicken Tacos which was today's special , juicy and tender chicken, and vegetable medley was perfectly seasoned and tender, yet crisp. The Swordfish sandwich did not disappoint with the meaty texture and blackening seasoning. The Dill Potato Salad was solid in its pickly, savory flavor. What a great experience between the relaxed outdoor atmosphere and really good food. These people know what they're doing. Can't wait to return!

Excellent service! Great location!! Sat outside facing the sand dunes. Very dog friendly! They have water bowls and handy water to bring out for them. Fast, knowledgeable service. Shrimp dinner was excellent. Very flavorful breading - a slight amount of heat, possibly, but not much. Both the tarter and cocktail sauce were excellent. I had the cheese grits as a side - also excellent! A good amount of cheesy goodness with a bit of a kick, too - not too much, just noticeable after about half a bowl... Awesome side salad! - no iceberg - fresh spring mix type lettuce, onions, Pepperoncinis, diced tomatoes, etc. good blue cheese dressing. The fish of the day Rueben was excellent! Very much upgraded over a typical fish Ruebens in the past. The veggie side was excellent - perfect done and seasoned nicely.

Our group was down for the Florida Georgia game and discovered this fun spot by the beach that is dog friendly! The food & service were excellent! I had the chowder which is tomato based with ample amount of seafood and very flavorful. The fish sandwich which 3 of our group had was Trigger fish and was cooked perfectly whether it was blackened or grilled. All other entrees were tasty! If in the St. Augustine area I would highly recommend checking this place out! Thanks for a fun experience!

This place is totally the bomb. On the beach (well over the berm). Cool employees. Great drinks. Super food at a reasonable price what more could you want. Oh.. you are right next to the beach!!!

Great location! I loved being on the water and feeling the breeze. Evryone loved their food. Our server Hannah was awesome, and made great recommendations. I will definitely be back!

Ambiance is excellent! Very dog friendly! We love to explore with our Four legged friend and dog friendly is important! Food and service were above par! We hope to return!

Wonderful view. Great service by Will! We had the clam chowder the Thai Cobb salad and the grouper fingers and all were excellent. We had the happy hour margaritas in Palomas and they were fabulous. Highly recommend this place. Don't doubt it when you drive up because it's excellent.

Kayley the bartender and personality plus made our stay the best. Stumbled on this beach bar and cafe. Just got lucky. Clean, new, fresh food, great drinks. Good Service. Lots of outside seating. Chilling inside with the A/C but still feel like I'm at the beach. Ok I am from the west coast of Florida and this is the best fried grouperI've ever had. Tastes exactly like we picked it up fresh, dipped it in cornmeal and deep fried in backyard. I am so coming back here. Great spot!!!!

I am the restaurant right now, and the food looks good, but the service is subpar. Our server, I believe his name was Russ, was not treating my table of foreign family members with the same amount of courtesy and urgency as other tables. When we asked about something on the menu, he told us to look it up on our phones. When I asked host to change our server, our server all of a sudden changed his attitude. I believe that they talked to him instead of changing our server.

What a GEM find. Came upon Beachcomber driving A1A. Parking is crazy but you may luck out by the restaurant. Lots of 4x4 enter the beach here so you may have to drive around them. Food counch fritters were excellent. Buttermilk ceaser salad with shrimp is large and very good. Trigger fish sandwich special was also very good. Great full service bar. Service was very good and friendly. Place was busy be prepared to wait for a table. Outdoor seating and some limited inside seating plus bar. Highly recommended

The Beachcomber is very, very casual restaurant adjacent to the sand dunes on Ave A St. in St Augustine, FL. A number of the picnic benches are set right on the sand. We sat outside on a wooden deck. The outside was renovated in February, but in the rustic side. I didn't check the inside, because 9/5/2025 was a perfect weather day and evening. The hostess was a delight, and we were seated in no time. Our waitress Hannah took our drink orders...a Tito's and Chardonnay. There were very reasonable at 4:45PM. We both ordered the Fish Sandwiches, which were delicious. We loved the Minorcan Chowder. It was very spicy, so it may not be a hit for everyone. Hope you can find a parking spot, which is always a concern.

This cute, unassuming place has good food!! Very clean, and doggo friendly.there are even doggie options on the kid's menu.It's right on the beach. Our server was great, friendly while still being a great waitress. We.had the conch fritters and gator bites. I was sure the gator bites were going to be overcooked, but they were perfect served with a kind of duck sauce. The conch fritters were also good, served with a spicy datil remoulade. Hubby had the shrimp and grits, which were spicier than expected but he enjoyed it. I had the poke bowl, which I enjoyed very much. Cool and refreshing, asking for the spicy mayo on the side was the way to go for me personally. Will definitely go back and try their drinks too next time.

This is what you want in a beachside bar and restaurant. Good food. Boat drinks and a decent beer list. Good prices. Savvy servers. The smell of salt air. Abundant outdoor seating. Kitschy decor. Yup, all the boxes checked. Grouper fingers, triggerfish sandwich, mai tai. All in order.

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately did not. My husband and I come to St. Augustine every year for the holiday and decided to try something new. We wanted to take a walk on the beach back to the hotel after, so thought it would be perfect for dinner. We stopped in on a Friday and got in at the right time. We had minimal people in front of us, but were told an hour. We decided to wait it out and head to the bar for a drink. We sat at the bar and my husband ordered a Coor's light and I ordered a Shirley temple. The bartender was super nice and friendly, but you can tell she was busy! I quickly slurped down my Shirley Temple and my husband sipped his beer. Not within 20 minutes did we receive a text that out table was ready. We closed out and headed to the hostess stand. By the time we did, we saw that the wait-list had definitely extended as many people were waiting. We sat down near the entrance and looked at the menus. It took well over 20 minutes for the waitress to even greet us, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt as she was busy. We finally ordered and since we had drinks at the bar decided to stick with water. We ordered the chips and guacamole reluctantly as it was $14. We thought this was a little steep, but had a taste for it so bit the bullet. Honestly, it wasn't anything special and we probably won't be ordering that again. We waited another 20 minutes for our waitress to return to take our order. Again, benefit of the doubt - we were fine but 20 minutes was awhile. I ordered the baha shrimp tacos and they were dry and gross. I was hungry but did not finish them. My husband ordered a burger and said it was eh, too. When finished with our food, we were just ready to take off. We literally did not see our waitress for quite some time. We asked that she just close us out ASAP so we could head back, but it took quite a while. Honestly, we probably won't be back but glad we tried it out to figure that out.

We really enjoyed dinner here. Our server was so nice and on top of refills, excellent service! The food was great! Fresh, came out fairly quickly. We sat outside and it was clean and comfortable. Inside looked cute but it was full. Would highly recommend when in the area.

Truly a 4.5. everyone's food was good and they had a great and unique beer selection. I absolutely love being able to eat with my toes in the sand. It oozes beach vibe. The parking can be challenging, but, we had a gentleman help us navigate our Chevy Silverado. I suggest lunch time. My shrimp and grits were average. Not bad, just a little luke warm and could have used some heat, salt, and texture. It's hard to describe. But truly not bad. My husband absolutely loved his fish Reuben though!!!

Love this place, everything I look for when cruising up and down the A1A. The fish of the day was trigger fish, which I've never had and was outstanding blackened on a sandwich. Fries doused in malt vinegar, what's not to like? Great beach vibes.

We went yesterday and this place is amazing! It was busy, being the Labor Day weekend, but service and food was excellent. We had the wahoo fish sandwich and the Baja shrimp tacos. Both were fantastic and a great portions. It was nice because it was on the beach and I will be back next time we visit st augustine

Every bit of our experience here was off the charts-if we lived in the area, we'd be here all the time. We had the fish of the day-triggerfish-both stuffed and fried, the fried shrimp, alligator, and crab cakes, all were very, very good. The coating on the fried fish and shrimp is well seasoned, things were crispy without being overcooked, and the remoulade that comes with the crab cakes...yum!! The drink menu is well done, and my drink was balanced and delicious. The manager was a delight, our server was friendly and personable, and the location is superb. They have indoor seating but highly recommend sitting outside of the weather allows.

One of the only few places open on St Augustine beach on New Year's Day and it did not disappoint! Fine dining cuisine with casual beach atmosphere and amazing friendly service. We were able to watch the new hb sky turn pink while singing and sipping on their happy hour cocktails. The shrimps and tuna dishes are fantastic.

One of mine and my husband's favorite places to go eat fresh seafood we love the environment and the location, especially when we go to visit at the beach. Overall, our experience with staff has been nice.

The other reviews on this site do not do this restaurant justice. The food here is exemplary quality for a beachside restaurant - which is, make no mistake, the main draw. Sea breeze and ocean mist drift freely through the air, making this a top-tier place to stop for food in St Augustine if you are of the beach-going persuasion. Service was smiley and decidedly southern. The fish was fresh-tasting and of a higher quality than most beachside restaurants I've been to. Overall, highly recommended by me - make sure to get the fried shrimp, it did not disappoint!

Casual, nice place for solid food. We decided on it while in St. Aug for a weekend. My fish and chips were excellent and I appreciated the recommendation on fish from the server. The place was busy the entirety of the time we were eating so obviously they're doing something right. Would recommend if you find yourself in the area.

Great seafood, location, service, atmosphere! Do not make a mistake and miss trying a cup or bowl of their Minorcan Clam Chowder!

We LOVED this place. You can walk straight from beach or park in their lot. The crab cakes and margs were on happy hour and both were sooo good!! We also got the fish of the day tacos and they were amazing. Our waitress gave us other local recs and was quick and sweet. It's very chill vibe so could go in a literal bathing suit.

We absolutely love Beachcombers and have been the last 2 years we were in St Augustine. The only downsides to this place are that parking is a nightmare and they don't take reservations or even call ahead. But the service is outstanding and the food is even better! We've tried several different entrées and haven't had a bad one yet, if you've never been and you love seafood, give it a try, you'll love it!

We stopped in for lunch and it was pretty awesome. The restaurant is right next to the ocean. I had a Gyro. The drinks were tasty.

Made a pitstop in St. Augustine Beach for lunch and ended up at the Beachcomber. The staff was friendly, but we both felt the food was very fine. The seared tuna was good, but heavily seasoned. My mom's salad was okay, nothing special to note. We liked that it was easy to park and visit the restaurant despite being nearly on the beach.

Less than zero, Food was off and we all got sick the next day after sharing an appetizer. Sorry we had to go home up north that day so couldn't do anything about it. Place was dirty and cheap looking. Service sucked as well.

A great alternative to the crowded restaurants in St. Augustine if you are looking for good seafood and a beachside atmosphere. Choose to sit outside for a true beach experience (they have some tables placed on sand) or inside if you feel like the humidity would ruin your hair or your mood. Since we were in a great mood and couldn't care less about the frizziness in our hair, we picked a table outside and loved the experience. We both ordered the blackened swordfish sandwich (mine without the bun). The fish was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries were pretty good too, except for a few soggy ones. My friend ordered a glass of the Notorious F.I.G. (craft beer on tap), which had a very unique flavor (bourbon barrel-aged ale with hints of vanilla, plum, and fig). The staff was very friendly and accommodated our requests, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Great service and food arrived pretty quickly. An unbeatable location right on the beach! My friend ordered the Conch Fritters, Oysters St. Croix and the Minorcan Clam Chowder. She really liked the chowder and she loved the oysters. The fritters had no taste - no conch taste and just generic something fried. I also picked through the one she gave me and I couldn't find any conch but it could have been ground into tiny, tiny pieces. It was mostly fried batter. I ordered the Crunchy Fish Wrap and it was spectacular. It was also too much food for me so I saved half. It came with a side so I chose the beans and rice. The beans were a little sweet - surprisingly - but good. I added a dash of salt. So most of the items were very good and I'd go back if I were ever there again.

We were strolling in St Austine beach . Found this place for lunch . Ocean front restaurant. We ordered several of their dishes. Loved my fish fresh catch of the dsy tooped with crab meat . Served on a bed of wild rice and veg medley. Fish was cooked to perfection. My rice was cold and so was the veg medley . The server heated my food . Vegetable medley mostly consisted of green beans . Didn't find any other vegetables. My husband also ordered fresh catch grilled . He loved it . My other friend ordered gyro. He liked his food. Good experience enjoyed their food.

We are here today and had Claire as our server. She was super friendly and accommodating! 10/10 we brought our dog and ate on the patio and everyone was so friendly and nice!! Thank you all so much for your service. Food was delicious too!!! We got the Buffalo wings and the fish dip. They were both large and filling! It's Tuesday and they have Olé Tuesdays where corona products are $1 off so we both got coronaritas. 10/10 we work at a seafood restaurant in st Pete and really appreciate great service and food!

Hey Don S! We came, ate 5 times in month and asked for you every time. You apparently are a busy guy - never there. Anyway, food still great (I cant get past the Cuban!) and service the same. Wish we had a place like this in Tucson - we have sand but no water. Looking forward to returning next year and maybe catch yea!

Excellent service, right on the beach tucked away in a neighborhood. Would definitely recommend The food came out fresh and fast! It featured: 1. Steamed shrimp = 10/10 2. Oysters la Croix = 6/7 not a lot of flavor. 3. Savannah sound spinach and crab dip = 9/10 4. Calamari = 10/10 best fried calamari I've ever had! 5. Smoked fish dip = 10/10 SO SO GOOD We also order a couple sides of the dill potato salad but it wasn't very favorable. Definitely couldn't taste the dill

The fish dip is amazing, some of the best we've ever had. Highly recommend. My husband got the Buffalo shrimp sandwich and said it was good but he wouldn't get it again. I got the coconut shrimp taco special and it was SO GOOD! The side was fried pickles since it was a special, I would recommend it again but for an appetizer not a side. The ambiance is soooo nice and quaint. Sit on the picnic benches in the sand, very nice touch. Nicholas was our server and he was friendly and very helpful providing suggestions. If we have time we'll eat here again this trip!

Cool little restaurant and bar on "A Street" right next to the beach. Definitely a great beach vibe. The servers are fantastic and love to talk with you. The fish sandwich I had was made with triggerfish, which is one of my favorite fish, and it tasted delicious. The lettuce was crisp, tomato was fresh, and the fish was blackened beautifully. The only problem I had with the plate was the hush puppies. I wouldn't recommend that as a side. They were overcooked. My wife loved her coconut shrimp. They were crispy and had a sweet delicious sauce. Definitely recommend this place.

We had a wonderful experience at Beachcomber for lunch! We were seated right away since we got there pretty early. They are situated literally steps away from the beach so it's a perfect place for respite for food and drinks. We were seated outside since we had dogs. Our server was wonderful. Food was good. I enjoyed the fish sandwich with their fish of the day and side salad. This a must go if you're in the area.

Great beachfront spot with a lot going for it. They even had someone helping with parking--always a nice touch. We split the crispy fish wrap, which was super fresh and had a surprisingly delicious sauce. The server was friendly and attentive, though his habit of calling everyone "kids" (including us 60-somethings) wore a little thin after a while. Still, he meant well. The place was impressively clean inside--which isn't easy to pull off for a beachside bar and grill. Outdoor seating looked recently updated and there was plenty of it, perfect for catching the breeze and dune views. Who ever is running the place knows what they are doing. We'll definitely be back.

Go to this restaurant. Ask for Robby to be your server. Order whatever he tells you to order. You will have the best beach side food experience you've ever had. Please trust me on this.

After so many restaurants advertise 'beachside' despite being fairly far from the beach, we were pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant was actually right up next to the beach. Service was great, the waiter was humorous and conversed with us while he took orders and refilled drinks. He recommended the Southern Special of beef tips and potatoes, and it turned out excellent. The rest of the food we ordered was also incredible, and it was obvious that the key lime pie was homemade as it turned out incredible.

What's amazing is Garratt, upstairs bar, in the middle of rush hour he was attentive and made our drinks and all our requests as far as appetizers, starting with the red shrimp peel and eat, he asked if we wanted them served cold or warm. The starter was the calamari, which was soft. Too bad the quantity was minimal, with an over abundance of red peppers. The only hiccup was the shrimp appetizer, being delayed 40 minutes, after arriving was to our liking. Without any input, we had another half a pound delivered to us for the delay of original order. Kudos to Garrett and the staff. We will be sure to visit again in October for my birthday..

Food was incredible and service was very kind and quick. ! The owner came and told us about the low lighting and how it helps the sea turtles and I loved learning about that. Eating on the beach was a fun experience, but I will wear bug spray next time :)

I ordered the 1/2 pound boiled shrimp and the seafood chowder. Both were good once I got the Old Bay seasoning off the shrimp. My wife ordered the eastern seaboard. It was a lot of food. The calamari was overcooked and un-eatable. The waitress brought us another serving that was improved but greasy. The pita bread was fried which made it greasy also. The fish dips were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive.

Every year, for the past 20+ years, we spend a week here, in St Augustine. Beachcomber is our number one place to eat & drink every year(and nearly every day). This year (2025) we were disappointed in the gator tail appetizer, for the first time ever. For 14.00, the portion was terrible. We got more in our 1/2 pound of ruby red shrimp then we did in our gator tail for almost the same price. I truly hope they will correct this issue as soon as possible. Don't get me wrong, we won't stop going, but one of our favorite appetizers, for all of these years, we may never get again.

No parking don't waste your time. The parking attendant could be more helpful. You could let people know they need to walk there.
