Beaches Bar & Grill

Where other places on the main road of Airlie were a little difficult to get at due to arrogant pricing or snotty staff, beaches was an easy visit with fair pricing and a delicious snitty. I felt comfortable and welcome as a solo diner and staff were just a tad friendlier than other spots around. Definitely worth it if you're after a no fuss lunch.

My parents and I came here to have beer, have lunch, and play pool. We are traveling and do not carry cash. They asked for a $10 deposit for the pool cue. We were the only ones in the restaurant/bar. I offered to give my ID or something else of value for the deposit for the pool cue or even pay on card. The waitress refused bluntly. The lack of service in Airlie as a whole is ridiculous. The customer comes last and many of the waitresses/waiters seem to despise their job and not want to be here. They look and act miserable. This place is very run down as well so it seems they don't care about their customers. Looks like a local dive bar. We are not unruly, nor demanding customers. It just baffles me how unaccommodating Airlie is as a whole. This place was my last straw. Maybe coming from the states and now living in Melbourne has created my expectation that customer service and working within customer service means that you service the customers. It seems like the further you go up the coast of Australia the dumber, more unaccommodating the service.

Worse fish I've been served up in my life. Frozen slab of fish with batter thrown in the fryer...come on guys you live next to the sea it should be fresh fish with cold beer batter it's not difficult. What you served up was crap

Beautiful service from the man at the bar. Great atmosphere, music and games. Really good spot. The food was also INCREDIBLE. Really tasty and big serving sizes.

The T-bone steak was a huge disappointment. Despite ordering it medium-rare, it was well done. This happened to several guests at our table. The fries (6/10) and salad (5/10) were okay, but the steak (3/10) was simply unacceptable. Whoever is grilling here should perhaps look for a new job. It's a shame, because the potential was there.

Came here for New Year’s Eve and was unfortunately faced with incredibly rude staff. The waitress either ignore you, snap at you or frown at you. Very unpleasant experience that caused us to leave after 10 minutes. Won’t be going back.

The best deal in Airlie beach!!! I had a cab merlot with a beautiful steak for $25.90! The workers were also so lovely and patient, very good hospitality. I will be returning and recommending to friends.

Absolutely the tastiest rump steak, vegies and mashed potato I have had in years. With a glass of wine, total cost $26.90, you can't beat it. Nice music, pool tables, street watching, not too noisy. Perfect evening for us. Thank You. And yes I am a Karen!
