"Beachhouse at the Moana Affectionately called the First Lady of Waikiki, this grande dame opened in 1901. Its gracious architecture harks back to the sugar-plantation era and wraps around a courtyard anchored by a massivebanyan. Pull up a chair under its spreading branches—or else a seat overlooking the ocean—and enjoy island-inspired fine dining. East meets West here with appetizers like Konaabalone bourguignonne, tempura asparagus with Parmesan custards, and twice-cooked octopus with macadamia romesco. Entrée standouts include the miso salmon and Korean-fusion Beach Bim Bop starring fiddlehead ferns, kimchi Brussels sprouts, and Ali'i mushrooms from Hawaiian grower Hamakua. Save room for its tour-de-force finale: A “dessert tree" with small bites of everything from macarons to red-velvet cheesecake."

Awesome, a blend of old world elegance with modern tastes and since abilities, just what you would expect from the grand lady of Waikiki (Moana Surfrider). Service is excellent and food to match. Shout out to Nathan our server...he was wonderful and encouraged us to enjoy a leisurely meal. For our 51st wedding anniversary we dined at the Beachhouse and enjoyed the price fix menu with wine paring. All the lovely food was excellent. The guest supervisor, Vernell, asked if we would like to meet the chef.. absolutely, we said. Alex came to our table and chatted with us about the food and his background. A bit pricey, but an experience you will remember fondly. A special thank you to Nathan for the extra glasses of anniversary sparkling...and the bag of Moana cookies as a parting gift. I can highly recommended the Beachhouse. Make your reservations early.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration dinner here. We arrived just in time to enjoy the sunset, which made the evening extra special. Although our table wasn’t as close to the ocean as I had imagined, we still had a beautiful view of both the ocean and the sunset. From the start, our server greeted us warmly and provided excellent service throughout the entire meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the value at this restaurant—$110 for a four-course meal, with generous portions that left us feeling full and satisfied (not the tiny portions you often get at fine dining spots). They even offer the option to add on a complimentary course, which was a nice touch. Since it’s outdoor dining, it can feel humid and hot on days without a breeze, but the overall atmosphere is still very enjoyable. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff surprised me with a complimentary birthday drink and even gifted us a box of cookies to take home at the end of the night. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with amazing service, great food, and thoughtful little touches that made my birthday celebration truly special.

Google
One of the most luxurious meals on Oahu. It’s a courses meal with some fabulous options that are local dishes. The views from the courtyard are magnificent and the service was spectacular. We enjoyed every bite and were so full when we left. The chef is fantastic! The steak and fish dishes were excellent. They’re also a sister hotel to the Royal Hawaiian. We can’t wait to go back and try more dishes.

Google
This is my must go to restaurant whenever I visit Wikki. The outdoor courtyard, building and the atmosphere is charming, relax and comfortable. The steak is always done properly and tasty. The menu expanded from my last visit in 2023. All the food was high quality and just exceptional and a very wonderful meal. Service was top rated as in the past visits. Wonderful dining experience. #1 in Wikki. Highly Recommended.

I had my engament celebration dinner at The Beachouse at Moana. I alerted them of the celebration before hand. They offered me their best outside seat overlooking the beach, patio, live musician, and light up beautiful baanan tree. The ambience with the live musician playing tropical remixes of sublime and other 90s rock was lively. They have a beautiful baanan tree that is light up with a slow fading light that cycles between purple and blue. It's simply gorgeous. The food was all expertly crafted. The oysters, lobster tails, ribeye, filet. All perfect. They even gave us a congratulations chocolate on our desert and complimentary short bread cookies from there bakery. It was a perfect evening thank you!

Google
100/10!! Went there for our last dinner of our week in Hawaï. The food was delicious, service was impeccable and there was an artist performing live music. Great way to spend our last evening!

Google
Unfortunately this place was below our expectations. The venue and atmosphere is fantastic. Sitting out on the deck and patio area with beautiful trees and a beautiful ocean is top notch. The food was very good but not worth the pricing. The service was probably the most disappointing part. The staff was friendly but the place did not meet its price tag and offering

Google
Amazing experience at this exceptional restaurant! My wife and I came here for our 10th anniversary and so glad we did! All of the food we ate was absolutely delicious and the staff went out of their way to give us the best experience along with great seating, complimentary champagne, and an anniversary chocolate. You will not be disappointed choosing the Beachhouse for a special night.

Yelp
Amazing food, ambience and service! I went here with low expectations because it's actually quite hard to find a fancy "special occasion" place that's worth it in Hawai'i IMO. Restaurants charge top dollar then rest on their laurels and offer nothing to make the experience special or memorable. The Beach House at the Moana shines bright and I will never forget my birthday dinner that my hubby arranged for us. We had a 6pm seating which offered spectacular views of the sunset. Our server Kevin from Mililani was a true professional and very nice guy who made our meal next level awesome. He paced our 5 course tasting menu and wine pairings perfectly. He gave proper explanations, presentation and was very knowledgeable about the food and the restaurant. The 5 course tasting dinner had very generous portions and we left feeling happy and full. Everything was expertly plated, seasoned and presented. Hot dishes were piping hot and cold dishes were served nice and chilled. The lobster chowder was amazing. Hearty and filling of lobster which paired well with sweet corn kernels. The chilled ginger shrimp and starfruit in a melon gazpacho was so creative! The flavors paired perfectly and the shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. The lobster "escargot" was so delicious and I keep thinking about it. I loved the Thai twist of coconut, chili oil and crispy buttery panko crumbs. The bread it's served on was perfectly buttered and toasted. Huge portion also. I'd go back and get that again and again. The burrata and poached pear was a very interesting pairing. The burrata was so creamy and fresh I meant to ask them where they source it from. The lamb chops in mango glaze were also delicious and top quality tho I wish I went with the chef's recommendation to serve it medium bc the thicker chop was raw in the middle. The potatoes and carrots it was served with were perfectly cooked. The short rib dish was huge and the meat melted in my mouth. Hubby and I shared everything we ordered so I got to try all the things. By the time dessert came I was dying I was so full but the few bites I took of the mango tiramisu were fresh, light and delicious. The extras beyond genuinely warm and hospitable (non pretentious) service were a complementary bread basket with whipped salted butter and rolls and rosemary lavosh crackers. We each got a rose champagne glass and a box of fruit flavored shortbread to take home. Most HI restaurants charge you for everything including bread. This meal was a top meal in HI and around all the many places we visited around the world and we are kind of picky foodies when it comes to this level of price point and dining. I think this meal was well worth it and I recommended it to a friend for a pre-engagement dinner next month so hopefully they enjoy too!!

Yelp
Update 2025 Beach House has undergone several reinventions since I first reviewed in 2018. Seems like every time I return to the island, they're trying something new. But overall it's been a pleasant journey and I've never been disappointed. The latest format is modeled around a price fix menu. While not usually a fan of these, I have to admit this one has great options and variety and the optional wine pairing offers great value and selection. There's a 4 course and 5 course option with optional wine pairing. Started with the lobster chowder which has long been a signature item and never disappoints. The ginger poached shrimp marinated in ginger oil, pickled star fruit, aji amarillo aoili, honeydew gazpacho was excellent as was the pork belly with mojo verde, chicharron gremolata, pickled apple, fresh mint. Entrees were impressive, too. Fennel dusted scallops with parsnip puree, blood orange vinaigrette, dill chive oil, shaved fennel, and radish salad was quite enjoyable. And the porcini crusted filet (6oz) with ulu pomme puree, Madeira bordelaise, Hamakua mushrooms, and blistered tomatoes hit the spot. Ambiance is always amazing with beach views. Served and staff are excellent and professional. This is the place to splurge for one night while here.

Yelp
We had Matt as our waiter who was awesome. He was sensitive to my sister's food allergies and helpful in providing dish info and rec. He was funny and personable. We are kamaaina so it was nice to conversate with another local/kanaka. The food was beautifully displayed and tasted amazing. We did the 4 course meal tasting n it did not disappoint. The lobster chowder was amazing and the lobster ai gratin was cooked n seasoned so good!!

Yelp
Ate at this bar twice. The first time was based on a recommendation from someone about the burger. I had them cut in half in the back since I was splitting it. The hype was true! It was really good! The second time I got the Kamachi Hong Kong style after the king-sized Edamame with chili crunch! Wow that was a big portion! Locals and tourists frequent this bar. Great bar to hang even if you aren't eating. But the food is very good. Friendly bartenders too! Actually the most friendly of the trip. I already miss this bar :(

Yelp
Went here to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. There was a set menu to choose from and EVERYTHING was delicious! The service was friendly and felt personal. They made it a point to acknowledge our anniversary with a little chocolate happy anniversary candy on our dessert. We were seated so that we had a lovely view of the ocean and the sunset.

Yelp
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. A can't miss historic hotel restaurant while on vacation in Waikiki.

Yelp
This review covers the Christmas Day 2024 4-course set Chef's tasting menu. We started with the Citrus Cured Hamachi Crudo - pickled Kula strawberries, crème fraiche, watermelon radish, Thai basil nuoc cham, fennel pollen, and Taittinger Brut Champagne. A wee bit more than an amuse bouche, this was a satisfying way to begin celebrating. The Kona Lobster Salad - confit cherry tomato, grilled endive, pickled pear, crostini, caviar lime vinaigrette, with some L'Ecole N° 41 Chenin Blanc. Intense pear bits mated so well with the lobster. I could've eaten 5 of them. The party was rolling now! The Roast of Beef Tenderloin - truffle mushroom risotto, crispy maitake mushrooms, Sumida Farm watercress puree, atop a port wine reduction of Daou Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Unbelievable tender, more Malliard would've honored the meat in the way it deserved. Lastly, the Pistachio Raspberry Tart - vanilla bean chantilly cream, chocolate raspberry crémeux, white chocolate snow, chocolate tuille - was a delightful play of sweet textures. The wife swooned. The terrace seating was perfect, as was the surroundings under the Banyan. The staff were attentive, personable, and cheerful. Bonus: the Kona blend drip coffee was tasty, strong, and bottomless. Wife's mocktail - with a requested addition of Angosta bitters for astringency - hit the spot. A very successful honeymoon Christmas meal, paving the way for a return.

Yelp
If there was one spot on Oahu to experience a great set course dinner that hits on a great price point with an awesome sunset view then look no further than the Beachhouse at the Moana! There is a four ($110) or five ($130) course option where you pick a soup - it was soup (great lobster chowder) or salad, one choice of five different appetizers, one entree and a choice of dessert. The five course gets you one extra appetizer. On a previous dinner here we got the house salad which was wonderful too. We stuck to our appetizer choice which was the coconut Kona lobster Au gratin and the ginger poached shrimp. You can't go wrong with either. For entrees most of us had the delightful the surfrider ale braised short rib which was a huge tender soft portion. You can also add on to your entree too. The seasonal menu does change from time to time so be sure to check online. The service was wonderful and we had the same server from our last visit who remembered us and chef Adrian Solorzano even stopped by our table to say hello! Overall a super great, memorable experience and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Honolulu with local upscale dishes! Good vibes, attentive staff, great entertainment, and high quality delicious food! My server, Travis, had excellent recommendations and was super hospitable. Enjoy an incredible dining experience!

Yelp
beachouse is located at the Moana Surfrider, part of the Westin group. Their menu offers a 4- or a 5-course tasting menu, or the Moana Ali'i Cut Experience for 2 - we opted for the 5 course for our group. The 5-course tasting menu includes a selection of soup or salad, 2 appetizers, an entree, and a dessert; there is also an option to add a wine pairing, in which opted out of. From the tasting menu offerings, our party started off with: +the Lobster Chowder +the Kula Field Greens +the Kona Lobster Au Gratain - with green garlic butter, toasted ciabatta, and macadamia nut +the Poached Shrimp - with aji amarillo aioli, chili threads, and a cilantro cucumber gazpacho +the Fruit de Mar - an island seafood medley +the Charred Spanish Octopus - with furikake pistou, jicama, grilled corn salad, and a gochujang vinaigrette For our mains, we tried: +the Macadamia Nut Crusted Scallops - with vanilla cauliflower puree, pickled cauliflower, romesco sauce, and Parm crisp +the Big Island Kampachi - with choy sum, shiitake, XO Hong Kong sauce, and shrimp, served with fried rice +Guajillo Chili Braised Short Rib - with creamy goat cheese polenta, grilled corn relish, chimichurri, and a radish & pickled shallot salad +the Mango Glazed Lamb Chops - with fingerling potato parmentier, mango rum carrots, and shiso pistou +and, the Certified Angus Beef Filet Mignon - with luau pommes puree, truffle bordelaise, hamakua mushrooms, an blistered tomatoes To finish the courses, we tried the Blueberry Whipped Cheesecake (a vanilla cake with whipped lemon zest cream cheese, blueberry compote, white chocolate green tea crumble, and a raspberry lemon tuile), the Chocolate Banana Crunch Mousse (milk chocolate mousse, peanut butter praline crunch, banana cake, cinnamon oat crumble, and red wine jelly), and the Kabocha Pumpkin Tart (a kabocha pumpkin chiffon, almond vanilla frangipane tart, morello cherry citrus coulis, luxardo cherries, candied pecan, and a fresh fig). Service was friendly, and the ambiance was nice and intimate; there was also live music, and the ocean view was wonderful. Making online reservations was a breeze. +friendly service

Yelp
I'm often asked about my purpose in life. For a while, it was difficult to discern. But after tasting the flavorful lobster au gratin, I finally knew... My purpose in life is to eat good food with good people. Our server Omar was very hospitable and knowledgeable. He explained the menu well and gave our kudos to all the chefs. Chef Adrian even came by to greet us, and I learned about the concept behind their li hing spiced duck breast dish. I enjoyed the balance of flavors and textures between the duck, persimmon, cabbage, brussel sprouts, and farro. It brought a winter vibe to the warm shores of Waikiki. Highly recommend ending the night with both mousses: chocolate banana crunch & carrot cake cream cheese. They were simply delectable. Mahalo to all the chefs and staff that made our experience so lovely.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with great tasting menu. You will see the best sunset if you are lucky depending on the day:, Pleasant night with good service, ambience and food.

Yelp
Regarding the breakfast buffet: 4 stars for the cost of food (kama'aina gets 15% off though!!!) and 5 stars for our server, Andy. I opted for the breakfast buffet option which was $48 compared to the other ala carte items (omelette for $36 and açaí bowl for $28?! -- crazy!). The buffet had many options including a mini salad/spinach bar, miso soup, natto, white rice, bread and bagels, smoked salmon and cooked marinated salmon, bacon, breakfast sausage, fried rice, eggs benedict, omelette station, yogurt, milk and cereal, a fresh juice bar, mochiko pancake and waffles, and fresh fruits. Honestly, the buffet is worth it compared to the ala carte option. Andy was our super attentive and friendly server, making sure the coffee cup and water were always refilled (we had to even stop the flow of the amount of coffee due to risk for jitters!). They were finishing breakfast service and notified us, but we forgot to get more guava juice, so he kindly brought us some from the back. All the seats are outside so everyone has a lovely view of the beach too!

Yelp
PLEASE, PLEASE SKIP! Sounded like it would be a cool five course tasting menu however turned out to be the worst meal I had on vacation. Our waiter was very kind and attentive however, everything else was completely gross. First off, when asked what I wanted to drink, I stated a specific type of gin with tonic. This gin is colored purple so when I received a drink that was clear, I asked if our waiter could tell me what I was drinking as I then explained the gin I ordered was purple. He went to the bar and came back and told me that this was the gin.... i'm sorry, but it's a dark purple gin, it would never be clear. I asked if I could instead have a different kind of gin, Hendricks. The drink he brought back tasted specifically like Tanqueray. If you're a gin drinker, you know you can distinctively tell the difference between the two...I was honestly surprised that they just did not one, but two switcheroos on a mixed drink at a $125 five course tasting menu restaurant. Needless to say, I didn't drink the drink. To start we got one soup and one salad. They were both average. We then each then received two appetizers. The beef carpaccio was horrible. It was so thickly cut and had a super meaty taste. We also had goat cheese mouse and poached shrimp cocktail. Both options were the worst I've ever tasted, we couldn't finish either. For the main course we both opted for the angus filet mignon. I will say this steak was cooked good however, they drowned it in a sauce that tasted like a teriyaki. I mean it was covered in the sauce....sad for such a nicely cooked steak. For dessert, we did the chocolate banana crunch mousse and the apple almond tart. We both took one bite, looked at each other and started laughing because I was so unappetizing. Overall, I highly do not recommend wasting money here, of course it's a personal taste preference but save your money and go LITERALLY anywhere else!

Yelp
I ordered the beach house cocktails, not too bad. I ended up getting 2 since they were not too strong. The seasoning on the edamame was perfect, but not for the rest of the dish. They were having a stand up show when I was seated. If you're staying in Waikiki, I do recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
Great place with great vibe! We stayed at the hotel next door and chose this place for our pre-anniversary dinner night! Only great things to say, you get everything you deserve from a great restaurant. Our bill was just a little over $400 including tip for a dinner for 2. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
The bad weather did not discourage! Excellent food and service! We ordered the 32 ounce porterhouse for 2 which came with 4 courses. It was a perfect medium rare and the salad and appetizers completed the meal. A lot of food and we boxed our deserts!

Yelp
We came for a last minute trip to Hawaii, and happened to walked by this gorgeous property on our first night in Waikiki. My husband mentioned that he loved the ambiance of this hotel and we made reservation for dinner for our last night in the island. I believe Jen, was our server I could be wrong (10.27.2024 - late dinner) She was amazing, very impressionable, attentive, and hilarious! She also went out of her way to provide white glove service. The sound of the waves from the ocean in the background set the tone and mood for the evening. They also had life music playing on the other side of the restaurant, it wasn't too loud but just enough to enjoy. The food was delicious 4 out of 5 stars, we opted out for the 5 course meal set, paired it with a nice bottle of red wine. They surprised us with complimentary champagne to go with our desserts. All I can say is that we will be back with our kids next year :)

Yelp
This restaurant is the Signature Restaurant at the Moana Surfrider and Dinner here was great! The ambiance is top tier. There was even live music and some dancing in the lobby area . I ordered the four course menu for $105. The lobster chowder was served hot and was delicious. It was my 1st time having KONA LOBSTER AU GRATIN and it was sooooo good! The filet mignon was good but a little tough ( I did order it medium well). I was able to indulge in 2 songs and dance a little before the musician ended his set.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my dad's birthday and ate dinner on the deck. This is a beautiful restaurant in a nice setting with great food, however, there were some changes here within the last year since my previous visit for my birthday dinner. Instead of a 3 or 4 course meal it's now a 4 or 5 course meal. I was happy with the 3 courses last year and thought it was enough food. This year we all opted for the 4 course meal for $105/each - this does not include drinks. We also had 1 child with us and the kids menu is $26/person and is not different courses but instead one nice kids meal. I don't eat seafood so for the first item I got the salad instead of the lobster chowder. The salad was standard but nothing special or fancy like the lobster chowder. I then got the beef carpaccio which was delicious but looked like it was less than 1/2 the portion size I got a year ago. The beef filet was still as delicious as I remembered and cooked to my liking. Super tender steak on top of some spinach and truffle puree. Highly recommend the steak. And lastly for dessert I got the pineapple 5-0 - this is a delicious vanilla bean dessert with a roasted pineapple on top and rum cherry. Get this dessert! For my dad's dessert he got the citrus tart and it did include a happy birthday chocolate lettering on the tart which was a nice touch. They did not bring out a complimentary glass of champagne like the previous year but the service was still top notch. Omar was our server and he was fantastic - lot's of personality and made the evening memorable for a birthday celebration. The 3 adults all got desserts included in our 4 course meal, however, he brought out a special vanilla ice cream for the child...nice touch. I'd still recommend eating here just be prepared to spend $$$$. IMO it's still worth it especially if you can get a nice table on the deck with an ocean view (be aware of the direct sunlight as it can get toasty). During our dinner music was playing from the musician at the banyon tree bar which adds a special touch for the evening. Will be back the next time I visit Hawaii!

Yelp
We were there for a catered event for about 100 people. The menu was set but was extremely delicious! From ahi tuna appetizer to corn chowder. For the main - they served a filet that was like butter and a small lobster tail. So good! The evening ended with a peanut butter chocolate pie. Catered events are tough to serve really good foods - but they did an excellent job. I can only imagine how the main menu is.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and decided to have a couple's dinner and celebrate April babies birthdays! This place is located inside the Moana Surfrider Hotel, very beautiful inside. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. For dinner, they offer a fixed menu and you have a choice between a 4 course or 5 course menu. In my opinion, the 4 course menu was just enough. They also have an option to do wine pairing for these courses as well as a dinner experience for two (basically a 4 course for two people). My boyfriend and I chose the 4 course menu. We ordered: Lobster Chowder & the Farmstead Salad Appetizers: Kona Lobster Alla "Escargot" & Snake River Beef Carpaccio Entrees: Herb Marinated Lamb Chop & Certified Angus Beef Filet Mignon Entree Supplement: Grilled Lobster Tail & Lobster Tail Dynamite Dessert: Pineapple 5-0 & Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar Everything tasted amazing, there wasn't a dish that we didn't enjoy! Definitely would have dinner here again! Our waiter Kevin is amazing and gifted the birthday celebrants shortbread cookies.

Yelp
Beautiful dinner spot to see the sunset on the beach. I got the pre-fixe 3 course meal because they were only serving that for dinner (along with the 4 course pre-fixe), which was a bit of a bummer since I wanted to try other things on the menu. The service was meh. For starters, I got the lobster chowder, a crab cake, filet mignon, and their chocolate peanut butter crunch bar. The lobster chowder was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Very enjoyable to eat. The crab cake was soft and super tender. Definitely recommend this as an appetizer. However, the star of the show was the filet mignon. It was SO soft and juicy; honestly, it's up there with some of the best filets I've ever had. If you're going to get the pre-fixe menu, I definitely suggest ordering the delicious filet to really get your money's worth. Lastly, the chocolate bar was rich and decadent, and it was also topped with strawberries. Overall, I really enjoyed eating here and the food was great!

David S.

Yelp
The service was amazing. The ambience is really cool, but they should have a bit more distinction between the casual dining area and the upscale restaurant area. The food was excellent, except the salad course, which was pretty much a waste. The pour on the wine pairing was excellent. But for the price, I'd expect every course to be fantastic.

Yelp
Vacationing in HI w babe and picked this place for date night. Made a last minute reservation through opentable. When we got there, they told us they were doing a pre fix menu, showed it to us and asked if that works. They had 3 options: a 3 course (app, entree, dessert), 4 course (2 app, entree and dessert) and porter house (I think that's what's it's called, 2 app, fix entree and desert). We ended up getting the 3 course and got the following: crab cake and shrimp cocktail for app, New York steak and kalbi short rib for entree, and ube blueberry mouse cake and peanut butter crunch bar for dessert. We also got a couple cocktails and we received complimentary glass of Argentina rose for night cap. Food was amazing! The steak and short rib are perfect. The peanut butter crunch is great. The ube mouse cake was the least fave. Service was BEYOND! Tim was our server and he's very attentive, very nice and pleasant. We sat at the table almost close to the water and the moon was gorgeous at the time. The beach bar was also open and there was live music so that made the mood more romantic. After dinner, we walked to the beach to take some photos - they have a private entrance to the beach which was nice. Pro tip: they validate parking so park in the hotel if you want. We parked at the international marketplace and waked to the hotel which was a very short distance.

Yelp
My husband and I came here in May for our honeymoon and it was a total delight. Come at sunset, and no matter where you're seated, you're guaranteed a pretty spectacular view. I got the Chowder, Porterhouse Steak, and Caesar salad. Chowder - everything a Chowder should be (and I'm from New England!) not too potato-y or corn-y Caesar - dressed just the right amount, perfect appetizer Steak - melts-in-your-mouth delicious, why can't we have steak like this everyday? For dessert, our server kindly brought us cake courtesy of the chefs because it was our honeymoon! We were blown away. Thank you to the entire team at BATM for a most lovely evening celebrating our honeymoon!!

Yelp
The restaurant is in the Westin Hotel. Both inside and outside has great live music. Our waiter was attentive and nice. I was celebrating my birthday and requested for a table with the views. I'm glad they were able to accommodate that. They are spot on for service here. I enjoyed my filet mignon and lobster soup. The chocolate banana crunch cake at the end was delicious. We went down to the car area after dinner to enjoy some more drinks with the live music. I'm definitely going to come back here next time I visit Honolulu.

Yelp
The restaurant is located at moana surfrider hotel, outdoor area facing the ocean. The ambiance is amazing with all the beautiful trees and lights , not to mention being by the ocean. We ended up ordering the 4 course meal and it was quite good. We ordered the following items: For starters we got the salad 7/10 Appetizers - kampachi crodu 9/10 , Beef carpaccio 9/10. Main course- Filet mignon 9/10 , Black Angus Braised Short Rib 7/10

Yelp
The service was very good. Our Server was very attentive. The ambiance was moderate as we were seated on the deck overlooking the pool area. I had the Scallops which were prepared perfectly. My wife had the Duck which was also exceptionally prepared. Great date night place but a little pricey.

Yelp
Beach house at the Moana was an amazing time for us. We walked in and got seated for a party of 8 within 5 minutes !! We did the pre fix menu 3 course ($97 pp). (There's a 4 course option w an extra app for extra $) We start our with warm bread rolls with room temperature salted butter & thin crackers. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco for our little celebration! Most of us girls ordered the scallop for app. I ordered the ribeye steak for main course with Ube mouse as my dessert. I snuck a few pics from The other girls to show you guys! The scallops come with 2 but they were big. The scallops were perfectly cooked, companies by a butternut squash curry sauce with pickled mustard seeds. The ribeye shocked us because the portion of it was really big. We couldn't finish the ribeye. On the plate, there wasn't much mashed potatoes but it was creamy. The ribeye needed a tiny bit of salt. The lobster risotto and short rib was also ordered by the girls, I couldn't see how the lobster risotto looks but the short rib'a flavor was good. It was tender but can be more tender. Sweet flavors from the kalbi marinade. (FYI you can ass foie gras, lobster, or shrimp as an addition to your entree) The ube mousse was so light. The blueberry flavor is overpowering the ube. The lavender sponge I wasn't a fan because I don't like lavender taste much but the texture was very light and bouncy. The lemon sable cookie under was really good. I tried the chocolate lava cake too and it was really heavy and chocolately!! The tiramisu was a big portion and looked moist but I didn't get to try it! Overall, the service was amazing. Our waiter never rushed us and was super nice and friendly! He helped us take a picture too! I would def come back for date night !!

Yelp
Four of us had dinner on the outside porch under the gorgeous banyan tree last night. What a wonderful evening! Our server Pat, and her assistant Jean (John) could not have been better--how often can you say that? I will ask for both of them next time we are in Hawaii. Pat was so outstanding in her knowledge and guidance on the food preparations and choices, her delightful sense of humor and her timing in bringing each dish at the exact right moment. Jean always appeared at the perfect moment pouring water and refilling wine glasses or attending to our needs the moment it was needed. He could be a main server himself! I have three criteria for a great restaurant--great food, service and ambience. This one has all three in spades! In addition, the live music in the adjacent room inside was wonderful--people were dancing, and we were thoroughly enjoying every moment of the night! This is one of my absolutely favorite restaurants in the world! When in Hawaii give it a try--best Mai Tai's in the world!

Yelp
My first time ever visiting this restaurant. Everything from the host, the seating and ambiance was top tier. They do pre-fix menus but I hardly had an appetite. Took my best friend here for her birthday and we got the tomahawk steak. Shout out to Felix for providing EXCELLENT service and treating us with so much care as our server. Adrian the manager was so accommodating to my food allergies & since we were celebrating a birthday he offered us both a glass of sparkling wine (WHO DOES THIS?) amazing management. Samuel was also alsooooo do friend and accommodating. Everything was just top tier! I wish I had more of an appetite to try everything. But the ESCARGOT was probably one of my favorites!!

Yelp
I had a friend in town and decided to celebrate his birthday here after he requested good food w a view!! The ambiance, view, live music, service, and of course food was perfect w reservations at 6:45pm. Since we are in June, we enjoyed the daylight into evening views. The menu was between 3 prefix choices. We chose the 5 course w wine pairings that really fits anyone's palette. Our waiter asked us what speed we wanted our night but we were on a schedule so requested to bring things quickly but even with that, everything came sp well prepared! This is my 3rd time here and each experience was spot on! Valet parking w validation

Yelp
My boyfriend chose this place to celebrate my birthday and I'm so happy he did. What a beautiful restaurant! From the food to the outstanding service. We were sat at a smaller table for 2 and we ordered wine. With the bread, plates, silverware, and wine, our table looked a bit cluttered and sure enough, my wine glass went tumbling down and spilled all over the table, ground, and a bit on my dress. It was SOO embarrassing. But, our waiter, Nathan, was so quick to help us! He, along with the other people on his team, came rushing over to clean and move us to a bigger table. Nathan was also asking if I got some wine on my dress and gave me a glass of soda water and a towel to dab the stains, which I didn't even know worked! I don't even have stains on my dress anymore!! He then gave me a big full replacement glass of the Merlot we ordered since I spilled it. I totally forgot about being embarrassed because of Nathan. I really appreciate him for this experience. Now for the food! The 4 course dinner was amazing and filling. I ordered the lobster chowder, crudo, and filet mignon. The lobster chowder was sooo good. The crudo was refreshing and perfect as an appetizer. The filet mignon was cooked medium rare and was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the lobster chowder, lobster "escargot", and the lamb chops. His lobster "escargot" was sooo yummy and buttery, we dipped the complimentary bread in there too. Our desserts were the tart and the yuzu frozen dessert. Nathan even gave me a complimentary sparkling Rosè with my dessert! And as we were leaving, he gave me Hawaiian shortbread cookies as a gift. The kindness and Aloha just kept on coming, I swear!! I seriously can't thank Nathan and this restaurant enough for an unforgettable birthday dinner!

Yelp
Thanksgiving 2021 in Waikiki ...and... no cooking and cleanup at home! A different experience from some of the more usual Thanksgiving buffets that I've had in the past and this place is an alternative to consider! Ordered the Thanksgiving family feast and everything was good to great, and at the end, our party of 6 had quite a bit of leftovers! Having eaten at the pool area for drinks and bar food before, I was not sure how this place that seemed like an extension of that pool bar would be for dinner, but I had pleasantly surprised! Food - A, service -A, ambiance- B, promptness-A, value - B-. All rounded unscientifically to an A-. Very thankful for the nice staff in working on Thanksgiving Day and serving people like us that are too lazy to cook, host and clean up at home!

Yelp
Amaing food with fantastic service from Nathaniel and Ping! They made sure everything was taken care of and checked in regularly to make sure our meal was going well. The food was cooked to perfection and the wine served with each course paired perfectly. The ambience was also incredible witn the live music and the sound of crashing waves. Genuinely great experience!

Yelp
Hotel is right on the beach. Please if you can get a ocean view room in the tower. It over looks the hotel, beach, and also can see Diamond Head. The staff were all friendly. The restaurant is expensive for dinner and breakfast. I had to get the Açaí bowl for breakfast. It was pleasantly refreshing and light. If you want to rent a cabana or umbrellas and chairs, reserve it the day before. Get down there by 7am, they go quickly. I will probably stay here every time we travel here. Everything close by.

Yelp
Located inside the Surfside Moana Hotel. You know the white hotel with the tall pillars infront? Anyhoot gorgeous outside views of the restaurant which faces the beach. Prefix menu only due to covid. Lots of solid choices on the menu. I choose the Lobster soup, short rib, and peanut butter cup. I can tell you, I did not finish my meal but the portions were filling. Live music and a back drop of the sunset always sets the mood. Mahalo

Yelp
This review is a little overdue but needed to be written. We came here a couple weekends ago. Straight from California, we started our honeymoon in Hawaii with a beautiful dinner at the Beachhouse at the Moana. Our wedding planner/friend made a reservation for us to enjoy our first honeymoon dinner here, making sure we had the best table at sunset. Our waiter (I think Kevin T. per our receipt) also acknowledged our celebration and wanted to make sure we had a special time dining at this restaurant. Let's start with the ambiance. The weather was great and we had a reservation right at sunset. We had the best table on the deck with a prime view of the beach. There was a wonderful and talented singer/guitarist providing live music that was relaxing and appropriately set the mood. The banyan tree was lit up with bright colors. It was truly magical. Now, let's talk food. They brought out bread rolls that were warm and soft with a slight crisp on the bottom. The butter was sprinkled with Himalayan pink salt. Yum. We couldn't help but ask for a refill on the bread. The restaurant is currently doing pre-fix options for dinner. My husband and I each chose to do the 3-course tasting menu, which is 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert for $97. I got the seared diver scallop, kalbi braised short rib, and chocolate peanut butter crunch. We both ordered the same dessert but our waiter was nice enough to bring out the lemon yuzu New York style cheesecake in addition to what we ordered. He said it was one of his favorites and he wanted us to have an opportunity to try it. So sweet. The portions were perfect for each dish and we left full. The food was all delicious and the presentation was so beautiful, which was an added bonus. The service was absolutely excellent. We had a bottle of champagne on ice nearby and our glasses were constantly being re-filled. We couldn't have asked for a better experience to start off our honeymoon. 5 stars all around!

Yelp
Great service, friendly staff, got there late and the kitchen was closing but the server made sure we got our order in... Got seated and everything was really smooth and great ambiance, my food was pretty good and different, the salmon was hot but i didn't know it was coming with noodles that was cold, they had some type of teriyaki sauce on it which was good.. Full bar available as well..

Yelp
Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and this is probably my FAVORITE full course meal I've ever had. We got our courses with wine pairings which was a great way of trying different wines/champagnes throughout the meal, making the experience even more fun! I started the meal with the farmstead salad which was fresh and elegantly dressed, not too much or too little. I am a big fan of shrimp and shrimp cocktail and didn't think it could be too different at different restaurants but this place proved me wrong. The three shrimp that I was given were fresh, large, succulent and the best pieces of shrimp I've ever had. The cocktail sauce was also great and this appetizer left me wanting more. I am also a huge fan of duck, both French and Asian style, and this place presented a beautifully well done combination. The thick cut duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was juicy, flavorful and delicious!! I couldn't have asked for a better pairing with the brown butter kabocha and cherry sauce. I love citrus tarts so the lemon tart was an incredible finishing touch. Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of Waikiki in general (much more touristy than the other islands) but I would come back just so I can eat here again. If you are trying to find a great special occasion dinner with a little sunset view, GO HERE!

Yelp
Excellent dining experience every visit! We have dined here on 3 occasions and each time have been superb. The food is exquisite, the view is breathtaking and the service is top tier. We can not recommend this place more. Pictures below are everything except our main course (the best filet mignon) we started biting into before we managed to get a photo. Kudos to our most recent server Kevin! Couldn't have asked for better service

Yelp
The veggie review! We did the 4 course vegetarian pre-fix, which pretty much covers everything vegetarian in the menu. Nothing special about the salad. The appetizers with goat cheese and the other one called avocado tartine both were good. The main was a mushroom risotto, which was very hearty, slightly salty but overall good. The coconut dessert was great! Overall we enjoyed the meal with a combination of great ambience with sunset and live music playing in the courtyard. The service was great too.

Yelp
Beach House exceeded my expectations! I'm glad I went with this dining experience for my birthday. Our server was very down to earth and accommodating. He took great care of us and made us feel very comfortable. You don't often get that kind of care at other fine dining experiences. The four course meal was delicious! I was not expecting to be so full after. The filet and lamb we had was cooked perfectly and the right portions for the meal. My favorite was the house cured kampachi with a chilled coconut and lemongrass sauce. Very refreshing with a lot of depth. I want to thank beach house for the complimentary sparkling wine as well! The best part of this dinner was blowing out my birthday candle with the amazing banyan tree view. Mahalo Beach house!

Yelp
4-4-2021 Elegance can be found when dining at the Beach House. It's true, we had come on Easter Sunday for lunch compliments of our daughter. She is amazing for surprising us and setting it up for us off island and taking care of the bill ahead of time. We were given a confirmation number, the time and place. We decided to live it up and drove up to the Moana to valet park which we rarely do. It's like entering a time warp and transported to a by gone era of royalty. We checked in 15 minutes early with only one other party in front of us. We were allowed to wait at a table to the right until noon arrived. By then the line had grown. At 12:02 pm the first family's name was called and escorted down the stairs to an umbrellaed table. Our name was called next and we were led through the waiting crowd to the left on the upper level. Yes! We had choice seats. Hubs noticed in the lobby hallway that our seat/view was the same one pictured in the glass encased poster. My line of sight captured the twisted roots of the banyan tree, the leaves, sky tower and breath taking waves breaking on several clear hues of teal. Our server Cara was attentive, pretty and so sincere the entire meal. Instead of scanning the menu she offered to bring us paper menus for the day. Lovely. Amazingly hubs and I chose the same shrimp salad, tenderloin and carrot cake. The only difference was the degree of doneness to our steak and I gave in the second time she asked and got a plantation iced tea. The twin shrimp were plump on top of greens with a Cesar dressing. The tenderloin looked like a filet mignon plated with a smear of mashed potatoes, carrot and bright green almost crunchy artisan broccoli with sauce. The entree was So moist, tender for sure. Everything was top notch- atmosphere, service, food preparation and view. The masterpiece was the dessert. Not just a carrot cake but the serving was unique and artistically created. My taste buds went into high alert from the appearance and multiple layered textures. The first thing noted were the very thin bunny ears created with white chocolate. There were pieces of cubed carrot cake, green chiffon cake reminded my of lettuce, a candied piece shaped like a pretty carrot and some spoonfuls had almost a crunchy shortbread buttery crunch. All of the above was placed above what seemed like a sweet potato or pumpkin pie pudding- genius!!! Each taste, delightful! The cost of $85 per person was well worth every dollar. I texted our daughter, I could make believe I was one of the beautiful people dining for lunch at the Moana on Easter Sunday. Everything here made the dining experience so enjoyable.

Yelp
Awesome vibe & food! Loved it Would def come back to it or recommend it.. The quality is great. I wasn't a fan of the fried rice though & the risotto was lacking flavor. Other than that it is a good place for nice dinner.

Yelp
Went here last night and it was incredible. At first I was a little bit disappointed with the portion sizes but I had never been so full in my life so it did the job. The server took about 40 minutes from the time we sat down for him to come take our order, but then we felt rushed leaving because dessert came about 20 minutes after they closed. There was loud music playing from next door which I felt like downgraded the ambiance of beach house because the restaurant it's self is so beautiful. Overall the food was amazing, we got different things and everything was fantastic. You cannot go wrong ordering anything from Beachhouse!!!
