Beachside Resort Whitianga

If you are off to Whitianga, this is a great place to stay and enjoy the best that Whitianga has to offer. Spacious room and bathroom, supported by a bath (we like baths). Well-equipped kitchenette which is always good for us as we do a lot of our own cooking. Its also close to Four Square for all of your provisions. Its literally just across the road to the beach and 2 minutes walk to the ferry to the other side of the creek. Lots of places to hang out and eat / drink / be merry (we like that even more than baths....). We selected Smitty's on Albert street (one of the recommendations from the staff) and it was lovely. Recommend it and would defo stay again if passing by, and would love to make that happen....

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Good size bathroom with a tub. Superb location, next to the beach and close to the town center. Has mini kitchenette, toaster, mini fridge, kettle, cutlery, complimentary teas. We enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in one of the “Deluxe Studios”. The website photos are accurate. I’m not sure why it is called a studio as the bedroom was separate to the living area. It was very nice - clean, roomy. I believe renovated in the last year. Full sized fridge in the kitchen. Comfortable couch. Good wifi. There were screen blinds over the windows in the living area for privacy but at night they were basically transparent. The living area could do with curtains. (The bedroom had excellent curtains.) Close to the beach, shops and wharf. Very convenient for seeing the rest of the Coromandel Peninsula. I would recommend staying there, and would definitely stay there again.

My adult sister and I stayed here for a night . The heating was excellent, the room and bathroom were fine, the receptionist was lovely and helpful, location good, being just off the road from the beach, however, the beds need new mattresses. Main bed was lumpy, single bed was like sitting on.a block of wood - we had a look at the mattress and it even had a topper on it, sofa bed was also hard, leading to sore arms, legs, neck etc and a lot of tossing and turning. There weren’t any extra blankets anywhere, no blankets on the beds, just the covers, so had to keep the heater on for warmth.

Beachside Resort is such a beautieful Place. We enjoyed there a lot. The Apartment is very big and. The beds were super for a good sleep, not to hard, not too soft, just perfect. The bathroom was big and the whole was very clean. The Resort Manager Ms Jacqaueline Burt was very helpful and give us infos and tips for our stay. We wished we could stay longer. The location is great, just a 5 minutes stroll to the little port, restaurants and shops. Whitianga is such a lovely little town.

Disappointing for the Price The location is great – just a short walk to town and the beach, which is super convenient. But for over $350 a night, the lack of air conditioning and poor ventilation in the rooms was a real letdown. It got uncomfortably stuffy, especially in the evenings. For that price point, you’d expect basic comforts like aircon to be a given. Sadly, it didn’t feel like good value for money.

We enjoy stayed at the room. It was nice and clean. But we didn’t able to visit some places due to bad weather 🥹 But It was really good to stay in here.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious and just equipped for everything. Perfect location as it was walking distance to the beach and shops. The pool was heated so we did enjoy that on windy but sunny days for our 3 year old who loves water. Will definitely come back.
