Beachside Resort Whitianga

My adult sister and I stayed here for a night . The heating was excellent, the room and bathroom were fine, the receptionist was lovely and helpful, location good, being just off the road from the beach, however, the beds need new mattresses. Main bed was lumpy, single bed was like sitting on.a block of wood - we had a look at the mattress and it even had a topper on it, sofa bed was also hard, leading to sore arms, legs, neck etc and a lot of tossing and turning. There weren’t any extra blankets anywhere, no blankets on the beds, just the covers, so had to keep the heater on for warmth.

Beachside Resort is such a beautieful Place. We enjoyed there a lot. The Apartment is very big and. The beds were super for a good sleep, not to hard, not too soft, just perfect. The bathroom was big and the whole was very clean. The Resort Manager Ms Jacqaueline Burt was very helpful and give us infos and tips for our stay. We wished we could stay longer. The location is great, just a 5 minutes stroll to the little port, restaurants and shops. Whitianga is such a lovely little town.

Disappointing for the Price The location is great – just a short walk to town and the beach, which is super convenient. But for over $350 a night, the lack of air conditioning and poor ventilation in the rooms was a real letdown. It got uncomfortably stuffy, especially in the evenings. For that price point, you’d expect basic comforts like aircon to be a given. Sadly, it didn’t feel like good value for money.

Disappointing. Booking in advance, with specific notes and a request, and calling to confirm, I was greeted by an argumentative and rude owner/manager who demonstrated no support doe her staff. She did help with some glue and tape downs broken shoe, which is the only thing garnering 1 star. The room was poky, hot, and with little privacy. A tiny bathroom, with cheap fixtures - including a broken shower fitting. The room was clean, but ultimately let down by no air con, and 2 cheap ($20 from Bunnings) fans did not adequately cool the room, with the noise making not hard to sleep. Close to the beach, but not worth the $300+ price for one night. Not recommended. Will not stay again.

We enjoy stayed at the room. It was nice and clean. But we didn’t able to visit some places due to bad weather 🥹 But It was really good to stay in here.

we had a fully equipped 2rooms apartment in a nearly new condition|shining clean, comfortable bed, fully operated kitchen even for long stay, large and bright bathroom, and out of the main road traffic noise few steps from the beach and restaurants (we suggest blue lagoon) including private parking|the really added value is STACY the young lady who manage the shack|she gave preciuos info and helped us in any way even when we had trouble with our rented car

Their management is TRASH！We arrived at it arund 8:30pm, no any instruction for us how to get our room key; called their service phone by 5 times within half hour without any reply. We had to find another place to stay, it's not easy after 9:00pm there.||In the 2nd morning, we went to Beachside Resort again to clarify the situation, the lady in the reception recognized immediately that they made a mistake, she knew we should stay in the last night and she admitted they really forgot putting instruction for us on the reception door. She said she would report it to the manager.||However, we didn't hear of any information from the manager after that.||Then, when we sent E-mail to them to talk on this matter, the manager replid:|The mistake was by 2 parts:|1. We (the customers) were late;|2. Their trainee duty manager|But they didn't have any responsibility.||How Ridiculous it is ! Room rate is only NZ$260.00 !

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious and just equipped for everything. Perfect location as it was walking distance to the beach and shops. The pool was heated so we did enjoy that on windy but sunny days for our 3 year old who loves water. Will definitely come back.
