11-22-22 The words Beacon Hill caught my eye reading blogs on Pinterest for itineraries to do in Boston.
Beacon Hill, Acorn Street and Charles Street were our destination points for today.
Yes, all 3 spots were challenging to find and lucky for us the old adage Don't talk to strangers, told to most kids including myself, guess once you reach a certain age, you have the choice to judge yourself.
Believe me, we asked many people on the street for directions even a policeman. Only 2 ignored us, a lady with head phones on and a foreign exchange looking student.
The others stopped with a smile to offer assistance and even a few who heard me asking another person approached to give us directions.
The affluent live and shop here. Private streets requiring permits, gas lamps lit in broad daylight, pumpkins on step ups and even LaVerne and Shirley type below street level are prevalent here.
Cool door knockers, stained glass, red brick, wind swept maple leaves.., all added to the charm of this neighborhood.
The policeman said Mt. Vernon Street.
The delivery guy told me Cedar Stteet.
A very polished and well dressed woman told us specifically which way to go cuz we were so close and that it's a small, pretty street.
They were each the most helpful.
Know what?
Beacon Hill is an area.
Acorn Street is unsigned. I asked a young man who just came out of a doorway, is this Acorn Syreet. He nodded yes.
Charles Street we stumbled upon after Acorn Street and chose Figs(Italian) to have a very late lunch and park it. I needed to sit and rest.
So very glad our first day back in a month, here's three to check off our Boston Thanksgiving 2022 bucket list.
Magical, whimsy around every corner, this fall into Christmas season is wonderful to hoof it and literally wander, explore using the T: use the blue line to Boudin or red line to Charles Street station and keep asking.
So many nice Bostonians you will come across. Harvey the pup was a joy...cute puppies, you get me every time.
