"In 2023, Beacon rooftop bar opened atop the JW Marriott Water Street Tampa’s 27th floor as Tampa’s highest rooftop (and Florida’s second highest), with outdoor tables from which you can enjoy sweeping views of downtown and Bayshore Boulevard alongside charcuterie towers and the divine steamed pork belly buns."

The drinks were very good and the food was good as well, but she just can’t beat the view from this rooftop lounge. It makes it all worth it. We really enjoyed the food we had especially the scallops. Service was a little bit slow though so take that into account. We were there celebrating my wife’s birthday and their specialty cake was good and the cappuccinos with macaroons were incredible.

If you're in the mood for a truly remarkable dining experience in Tampa, Beacon Lounge is a must-visit. From its breathtaking views to its impeccable service, this elevated hotspot delivers an unforgettable night out. Located in the heart of the city, Beacon Lounge offers panoramic vistas, including spectacular sunsets that set the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. The atmosphere is nothing short of amazing. The stylish, modern design creates an inviting, yet upscale vibe, ideal for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. The ambiance is sophisticated without feeling stuffy, making it equally suitable for a casual evening or a special occasion. The highlight, of course, is the view. Whether you're seated indoors or on the outdoor terrace, the expansive vistas of Tampa Bay are simply stunning. The sunsets here are truly something to behold—painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, adding a touch of magic to your evening. Equally impressive is the service. Our server, Natalie, was outstanding. She went above and beyond to accommodate every need for our group, offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring that each course was perfectly timed. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the experience, making us feel like VIPs throughout the evening. While Beacon Lounge is undeniably on the pricier side, the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere makes it worth every penny. The cocktails are expertly crafted, the menu offers a delicious selection of creative dishes, and the overall dining experience is top-tier. If you're seeking an elevated experience with spectacular views and exceptional service, Beacon Lounge is well worth a visit. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to enjoy a beautiful sunset with delicious food and drinks, this Tampa gem will not disappoint.

Visited Beacon tonight at the roof of the JW Marriott Tampa Waterside. We did make reservations because we heard it can get busy. You check in with a host in the lobby and take a separate elevator directly up. They do have a dress code so make sure to look out for that, although a member of our party was told to take off his hat, several guests were seen with hats on in the venue. Valet parking is complimentary for 3 hours if you validate your ticket which is nice! As far as drinks, they were great! We had a couple rounds. I want to point out though, we did the "table side old fashioned experience" but it was quite disappointed.... It's $35 for an old fashioned with Brugal Rum ($35 for the whole bottle in the store). You can pick your syrup and bitters. The server then pushes a themed cart to your table (which was cool looking). But the big disappointment comes when they just pour your drink over ice and hand it to you. The drink was premade at the bar and the server literally just pours it. How is that an experience worth basically double the price of the normal old fashioned on the menu? I was expecting it to be made on the cart in front of us, now THAT would be a "table side experience". If you opt for smoke they will smoke it at the table, that's it. Somehow, smoke is worth a $5 upcharge? Just make it at the table and include the smoke for $30. I would recommend to just order the old fashioned off the menu and save $12. Espresso martini was good, but wasn't very cold. Server asked if we wanted Bailey's in it which we agreed but it was never mentioned that was an upcharge. Food we ordered the 5 cheeses which was a GREAT portion. I was very impressed. Ahi tuna was great, but a couple bites were extremely spicy and others not at all. Bao buns good. Flatbread was great!! Service was excellent I really enjoyed our server. The bar itself was so cool and really themed well. The views were amazing. Come around 530 or whenever sunset may be that time of year. Totally worth it. Recommendation for JW - add heaters above the outside tables for the cold months!

We had an amazing time at the Beacon rooftop bar. Tried a few different drinks and appetizers, which were delicious. View was gorgeous. Best part was the service we received from Rachel. She was extremely attentive, kind, and made excellent recommendations. We would definitely recommend trying it out and we will be back for the excellent service. Thank you, Rachel!

Google
Pricey but great view of the sunset. You can even see St. Pete. The brussels were a good deal and has a little kick. Great pairing with the drinks. Any of the recommended drinks by the staff should be good.

Google
This place is pricey - so if you're not looking for that, I wouldn't recommend this place to you, but we gad a great time here. We didn't order food, only drinks here but the view was nice, the music was great & the service was good. They had very interesting drinks that sound gross when you read them but I appreciated how unique the combinations were that showed creativity & tasted just fine.

The Beacon is the most stunning rooftop bar in Southwest Florida! It’s one of my favorite spots to relax and enjoy a cocktail. The ambiance and vibes are truly unmatched. Plus, their espresso martini is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Google
Drinks are ok and a bit on the pricey side. Obviously you'll pay a premium at a place like this, but still higher than I'd expect. Food is also OK and service is very hit or miss. I've had great experiences and awful - not very consistent. The views of tampa are beautiful, though, and makes it worth returning despite some of the downfalls.

Yelp
Great spot for the Tampa views and meeting up with friends or family for drinks. BEWARE/ALERT - the prices at the bars at Beacon are nearly twice the prices if you go to the restaurant Six and order from their bar. Plus there is a balcony for Six restaurant with fantastic views. $43.00 for ONE sidecar drink. The bartender did not alert us that the price would be that expensive because they use vsop cognac. For the first time I experienced sticker shock by the sheer audacity that a sidecar cocktail would cost that much without warning. Same drink at Six was in the low $20s. Dress to impress as everyone were in chic casual or resort evening wear. I highly recommend but suggest you verify the drink prices so you order accordingly for an enjoyable time.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the vibe of this bar. There is indoor lounge seating with a beautiful bar. There is also ample seating outside if you're looking to catch the downtown Tampa views. This is located across the street from the JW Marriott and Amalia. Parking is typically free for three hours however, if there are any events going on, the price is discounted by 50% for parking. I highly suggest making a reservation in advance before coming here if you try and walk in on a Friday or Saturday, you absolutely will not be seated without a reservation. As far as the food goes, they do not have main entrées. This is a tapas and drinks type of place. They have small bites in an array of drinks. I recommend getting the classic margarita it was delicious. I also recommend getting the Buratta and the pork boa buns! This is a awesome place to come to for a day or girls night. I love the views, the decor and the vibes. I will definitely be back.

Charlesea S.

Yelp
Loved this place for a bougie lounge afternoon. The ambience and decor is chill and trendy. During the better weather days, sit outside - the sunset view is amazing and unobstructed on the rooftop. Not to mention, this is the tallest rooftop in Tampa Bay, looking out you can see st pete, davis island, clearwater, etc. The food is pricey, shareable plates. I suggest ordering multiple plates and splitting with your party, especially if you want to try multiple things. I didn't do that this time and spent almost $90 on two small plates (pomme pave and scallops) and two drinks (zalamero). The service was very kind and patient when deciding our order. The even considered my reservation note of getting the best seat for the sunset, which I appreciate so much as I was bringing a friend here for the first time. Parking is usually complimentary for three hours, except on game nights. Best dessert option is the lemon tiramisu, sounds a little strange initially but you want regret it. Scallops are bomb and as a non carrot fan, the seasoned carrots were AMAZING.

Yelp
This is a great place to end your night. Definitely make a reservation. We tried to go once before and were told they were only accepting people who had a reservation. This time I didn't make that mistake and I made a reservation. It was one of the rare nights in Tampa that it was freezing, but there were still people sitting outside, which shocked me. There are a couple large rooms inside so we sat inside. The view is spectacular. We did go outside to take pictures, but mainly stayed inside. I got an espresso martini and it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet, exactly how I like it. My husband got an old fashioned and really enjoyed it as well. Our server was fantastic. She is an art student and even offered to take our picture outside. Since we were staying at the Marriott we got a $30 food and beverage credit with our stay that we could use here. That was actually a nice perk that I didn't know we had until we got to the hotel. Normally you don't get anything with paying the resort fee, but here it was actually worth something. This is a great place for a date night or to go with girlfriends. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Perfect 1st date in downtown Tampa is right here! The best view for drinks late night on the rooftop of JW Marriott off Water Street at their Beacon Rooftop Lounge. Enjoyed a refreshing late night espresso martini. The service was fast & friendly. Can't wait to come back for drinks again!

Service was excellent I really enjoyed our server. The bar itself was so cool and really themed well. The views were amazing. Come around 530 or whenever sunset may be that time of year. Yelp
Beacon is absolutely beautiful. I suggest making a reservation for an outside table because it gets really busy, fast. It is the highest rooftop bar in Tampa and the views are insane! The bartenders were really cool about suggesting drinks based off my preference. Even without having tried any of the food, Beacon is a place you should definitely experience in Tampa.

Isabella S.

Yelp
5 stars for the view and ambiance, but 2.5 stars for the food and drinks. We ordered two appetizers that were nothing special. We started with the surf and turf dumplings which were not worth the $25 price tag for 3 bland, tasteless dumplings. There should be at least 4 for that price point and the sauce was skimp, so it added nothing. The sweet and spicy brussel sprouts were OK - not cooked enough for my liking. Had very little crunch and were soft. Drinks were OK. Views were very nice and the service was good. It was a little too cold to sit on the outer terrace of the rooftop but the indoor views were still nice. I would say skip the food and go for the view and drinks.

Michelle D.

Yelp
We didn't try out the food, but the beautiful views and tasty drinks were great!! It was a touch loud, but I think that's the vibe they were going for so it's all good. Our server was simply amazing and our glass was never empty.

Sarah D.

Yelp
Came with my husband for a little birthday celebration. The vibe and view were nice. The drinks were quite delicious and the food presentation was also quite lovely. However, the duck seemed overcooked and crunchy and the lemon tiramisu was just okay, I personally prefer a regular tiramisu. In terms of service, the server seemed rushed, a bit disconnected with no real warmth or confidence in the menu when asking questions. While I understand it's more of a small bites and drinks spot, it was kind of disappointing that they didn't have a single candle in the building to do a small celebration. It's a cool place to visit probably just once for me.

Giga S.

Yelp
OMG Natalie with a Y. She tried to tell me about the Pomme Pave but I didn't expect this! Cubes of scliceable potato gratin in a lovely sauce with caviar and truffle aioli. The drinks, the shrimp Figeroa- everything perfect. Nataly made our experience magical. She was super accommodating, fast, smiley, she has it all. When Beacon chooses a beautiful personality like her, she lights up the night. I'll be back soon. Beautiful views with dedicated staff that just wanted to make sure I had a great experience. I had a great time! Thank you all- bartender and chefs- I see you!

Daniel H.

Yelp
Excellent drinks and a view of Tampa Bay like no other! Located on the 27th floor of JW Marriott you find this upscale cocktail lounge. At the bottom of the hotel you'll find a dedicated doorman who will confirm your reservation and send you right up. Coming out you'll be greated by a team of hostess that promptly brought us to our seating area outside, thankfully the weather was just right so we could take the views in. An absolute must I'd say! We truly didn't stay for more than one drink as we had a busy itinerary that evening, but as a bourbon guy I went with the pistoles at dawn and it was well prepared and I very much enjoyed it. We took some time to walk around the whole outside to take the views in and we were on our way, however we will certainly return to be able to try more of their menu.

Roshni S.

Yelp
We came on an "off" day. Tuesday was great to come for a ladies evening. We sat in the balcony and enjoyed the views while sipping our drinks and munching on some appetizers. The waitress was super sweet and very helpful. Her opinion on drinks was on point. We had brought a dessert to celebrate our friend's bday and somehow ants got into it. They were super accommodating and got use new dessert. The ambiance is great and the staff and food was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Jenn L.

Yelp
Beacon is a beautiful and highest rooftop bar (27th floor) in Tampa. It is inside of the JW Marriot hotel NOT the Marriort which is across from each other. I've been here few times and I would say I wouldn't come here to dine. It is more drinks and apps type of vibe. They do have great cocktails and the food is a bit expensive for the amount of portion you get. The service is good depends on what time of the day it is. The first few times were fine but recently when I went to get drinks before dinner, it took 35 mins for our second drink to come because they were understaff. The server apologized and mentioned that which wasn't her fault but they should really hire more bartenders especially on the weekends when its buiser. It was nice of the server to compt our 30min wait drinks and provide us with free dessert. If it wasn't for that, I would've given them 3 stars. Hopefully they hire more barntnders so other customers don't have to deal with that experience.

Krystle G.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday as a night away from our kids. Sitting on the rooftop with a gorgeous sunset view was amazing. Was a great vibe with fun, upbeat music and not overly crowded. Rachel, our server made our evening exceptional! We had 2 different whiskey cocktails and a couple others that were all really delicious. We ordered the duck buns and dumplings. Loved the duck buns, but not so much the dumplings. Would absolutely return!

Paula R.

Yelp
You go here for the view. It's just that simple. They are definitely giving exclusive vibes with the check in before you get on the elevator and when you get off. Our service was good. We were there for a birthday gathering and she was polite and attentive. My drink was AMAZING! I hate I cannot remember the name and do not see it on the menu. We ordered several bites. All were good and literal bites, so read with understanding and know your hunger level and amount you are willing to spend.

Yelp
I love checking out rooftop bars when traveling! No different in Tampa. The Beacon is a beautiful rooftop bar on the 27th floor of the JW Marriott. It is the second highest in Florida which is so funny considering it's only 27 floors high! The lobby however has extremely high ceilings so take 27 floors with a grain of salt. It's high and it's lovely! I showed up right at opening at 5pm on a Saturday. There was a considerable crowd of people waiting to take elevator 3 up. Reservations seem to be recommended but most of us showed up without and were told the bar area was open seating. The outdoor seating was reserved for those with reservations and I was told we would be informed if those with reservations didn't show. (There was quite of bit of open seating but I was unfortunately never given an outdoor table). Really well thought out cocktails with interesting flavor profiles. Swanky, modern ambiance that's great for date night. Bar tender was attentive and checked in often. I had the wishing well which was slightly sweet and refreshing. I did not have any food but bites were available and presented well from what I could see nearby. Perfect for date night, girls night and definitely as an event space. Try to get reservations for outdoors when the weather is beautiful - it's a really lovely set up! I'll be back if in Tampa.

Sheila H.

Yelp
2nd tallest rooftop bar in florida with 360 view of tampa Amazing vibe and views. Celebrated my birthday here with friends. Really liked the pate with waffle crisps for dipping. My second favorite was the scalloped potatoes with aioli. My friend liked enjoyed shrimp. I would definitely get the pate again 10/10. The drinks are amazing. My favorite was the Pistoles at Dawn - like a sweet bourbon mezcal old fashioned. So good!!

Taryn C.

Yelp
Beacon was super cool. It's almost like a speak easy but make it rooftop. The bartenders are super cool and friendly and offer great insight on drinks. The atmosphere is super cool and unique. A great place to hang out and drink with friends.

Keena H.

Yelp
Finally had time to get to the 27th floor=Beacon. The view alone is remarkable. The setting is a chic vibe with notable beverages, charcuterie apps. & other light bites. From the inside it feels like I'm in a sophisticated boutique hideaway. There's just enough conversing going on to say it's busy/full yet serene & more discreet. ***I like. I didn't get to try the Bao buns (which was the goal) as I was in a hurry to get home but the service from Julia as well as the host/hostess was great- they gave a warm welcome and I shall be returning. ***Next time with my dining accomplice in tow. The more the merrier!! *See clips & photos

Elle E.

Yelp
Would go back for the rooftop views from the beautiful JW Marriott and the Dastardly Devil mezcal cocktail. The DJ on Friday night was really good too! MUST have a reservation to be allowed access up to this rooftop bar from the main lobby before you are allowed to get into the elevator. They offer parking validation too, which would be good to know in the future.

Anat S.

Yelp
Spectacular views, great music, good drink. We ordered the potatoes pieces with caviar, tuna tartare, flat bread- was the best. Lemon tiramisu was lacking lemon flavors and we returned it.

Meena P.

Yelp
Very cool and cozy rooftop bar at the JW Marriott . Great indoor bar area and nice outdoor rooftop. We stayed in the indoor bar area as they didn't really have any good spots left outside. I suggest reservations!! Service was a really nice and friendly. Great decor and a nice drink and food menu. Great for one of those progressive nights you want to bar hop. Some really great unusual cocktails it was hard to decide. I got the wishing well. Great gin and vodka drink . Slightly fruity and floral. Loved it . Also tried the hummus which was delicious, crushed peanuts was different with roasted carrots . Perfect with a drink. Great people watching spot and just a great chill atmosphere. Another great place we tried in Tampa

Joshua J.

Yelp
Ah, Beacon, the rooftop bar that makes you feel like you're on top of the world--well, at least on top of Florida's 2nd tallest rooftop bar that's open to the public. It's so high up, even the birds flying by are looking at you like, "Whoa, check out those humans on Cloud Nine." Let's talk ambiance. It's an intimate rooftop paradise, the kind of place where you want to make a good first impression. The only thing louder than the beats is the collective sound of jaws dropping as people take in the panoramic view of the city, the bay, and the Amalie Arena. It's like a Google Earth view, but with a better soundtrack and more booze. Speaking of booze, hold on to your wallets, folks. The drinks here are like mini skyscrapers in themselves--tall, impressive, and they come with a hefty price tag. You'll need a mortgage just to try the specialty cocktails, but hey, it's Florida's 2nd tallest rooftop bar, not your grandma's lemonade stand. And can we talk about the staff? These folks are like ninjas in designer aprons. They'll slide in, take your order, and vanish before you can say, "Is that a flamingo on the menu?" Impressive doesn't even cut it. They've got the service game down pat, providing attention to detail like they're decorating a Christmas tree on a tight budget. Now, let's address the dress code. Beacon isn't your run-of-the-mill watering hole; it's where fashion meets altitude. Come dressed to impress, because rumor has it, even the seagulls outside have a fashion sense, and you wouldn't want to offend their delicate sensibilities. As for the vibe, it's a whole mood up there. You'll find a mix of people making good first impressions, others just chilling before a wild night out, and a few who accidentally stumbled in, thinking they were in an elevator. It's like a social experiment, but with better lighting. And if you're looking for a place to take that perfect Instagram photo, look no further. Beacon's got you covered with a view that screams, "I'm living my best life, and you should too." Just don't drop your phone over the edge--you'll need a parachute to retrieve it. Beacon is not just a rooftop bar; it's an experience. It's where the air is thin, the drinks are tall, and the views are higher than your aspirations. So, if you're looking to elevate your night, both literally and figuratively, Beacon is the place to be. Cheers to drinking on top of the world!

Brittany R.

Yelp
While our trip was short and sweet, I had to write a review to compliment our incredibly talented and attentive bartender/waiter! Our group of 6 arrived around 5:30 pm to enjoy a round of drinks and some small plates. Upon perusing the menu, I couldn't find any cocktail appealing to me. I asked our waiter if he could create something with a few specific ingredients, and he was very kind and accommodating. He created a masterpiece which I truly enjoyed! This really made the whole experience for me! We ordered the charcuterie cheese platter and the dumplings. The food was good, but fairly expensive especially considering the small portion size. The interior design was just gorgeous. We sat in a cozy lounge area with couches and low tables. The views were incredible! We would definitely come back again to enjoy a full night here!

Christian M.

Yelp
Ok. Service was adequate Had to flag him down when we needed anything but once we ordered our items arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We had two drinks and three appetizers and it was over $160. No problem. By the worst part was the view. We sat in low chairs and could not see because of the overgrown foliage. It just didn't make sense.

Andrea T.

Yelp
The place is amazing! I loved the vibes as well as Que cocktails. The music was good too! If you are looking to drink with a view, this is your place!

Zoe G.

Yelp
The view is great! Outside is decorated so beautifully, inside seemed super awesome too. We sat outside for the view. Reservation right at 5pm, seated right away. Service was great the first 30 minutes, then it started to get busy and they only had one server for outside so she was understandably overwhelmed. Waited 20 minutes for our check, even after she came back and apologized for forgetting it after 10 minutes. Overpriced drinks, but that is all of Tampa now. Drinks were very well presented! Wishing Well is super sweet 6/10 rating, only order if you love sweet drinks. Sage Before Beauty was delicious 9/10 rating, highly recommend. Cool place to check out once. Don't feel the desire to go a second time.

Heidi M.

Yelp
Great view of the city and great food! The 4-star rating is for the rude hostesses that refused to seat us outside, despite there being plenty of available tables. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they were polite about it, but the young ladies were very rude. It took our server, Gianna, three tries to get us outsideand bless her heart she made it happen. The whole night was salvaged by her and our food, but now I see why this place isn't rated highly. They were running their Restaurant Week special which is one of the best in the city. The drinks were pretty and tasty, the duck bao buns were exceptional and the vibe was amazing.

Kaylee L.

Yelp
Can't say enough about the service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Bartenders were happy to answer our questions and give us some samples. Can't beat the views and while the drinks are pricey, they were delicious. Wonderful spot of a date night or GNO.

Marjie M.

Yelp
Last Thursday, I came for drinks with my niece, and this rooftop is the spot. The hotel offers valet parking, which can be validated for 50% at the restaurant. We didn't have a reservation, the lovely hostesses guidebus to the bar. Ernesto was our bartender, and he was great. We both enjoyed our drinks. I selected the escapist, which is made with rum Barbancourt from my country. My niece had the casamigos blanco margarita. We both had an espresso martini as a second drink. For our bites, I had the 3 cheeses, I didn't care for the jam, my personal taste, but my niece raved about her pomme pavé. After our bites, we went outside for some pictures, and the view is spectacular. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, a very nice atmosphere, and a great service by attentive staff. Next time, I will make a reservation to he able to sit outside and let the view take my breath away.

Uyen D.

Yelp
2 stars for the view. Didn't have anything from their drink menu but many are tequila based (which I'm not huge on). Food was sub par and very expensive (as expected). The tartine were 3 pieces of open faced toast with diff toppings and $20. The chocolate one was good. Also had the bao buns, good but nothing to rave about. Brussels were soggy - skip Overall a nice bar for quick drinks and a view. The driftlight lounge drinks and food in JW Marriott is better in my opinion.

Airamiss L.

Yelp
We dined in and had a fantastic time at Beacon. The view is fantastic up there! Beacon serves small bites and cocktails. We ordered quite a few items which were all delicious. We had: The Charcuterie board Shrimp Figueroa Brussel sprouts Pork belly Bao Buns the cocktail Panacea as well as cappuccino and the potoatos topped with caviar and roe. Everything was delicious, they had glutrn free options. Everything listed except the Bao Buns was gluten-free. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Parking is complimentary if under three hours also. Beacon is located on the 27th floor.

Rhiannon B.

Yelp
Took my boyfriend for his 21st birthday - good munchies as far as a light dinner, ideal service (not absent and not overbearing), good drinks, good view (although there was a tropical storm going on so the balcony was closed and there wasn't much of a skyline), and a good spot to go to if you want an upscale laidback venue. Nothing super special on any note but I bet the view is great most other days :) The lemon tiramisu doesn't have much lemon flavor, presentation could be better as far as upscale restaurants go, and the charcuterie board bread was too crispy for us. Most things we wanted to try were unavailable at the moment, but overall it was a nice average restaurant. May go back for a better view but the restaurant/bar quality doesn't meet the price point in my opinion. (3 stars just because I've experienced much nicer a lower price point)

Renata P.

Yelp
I recommend experiencing Beacon Rooftop for the spectacular views! Service needs to be improved. Our server was very sweet, but forgot to put in an order and then brought out a wrong item. No apology and didn't do anything to make it better. Food was delicious but nothing impressive for the price.

Megan S.

Yelp
Beacon is nothing short of a hidden gem nestled high above the Tampa skyline. If you're in search of a picturesque rooftop bar with a breathtaking view, you've found your spot. Our evening began with a culinary adventure that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The prosciutto wrapped dates were a delightful opening act, offering a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The steamed pork belly buns were a revelation. Tender and flavorful, they melted in our mouths, leaving us craving for more. Now, let's talk about that view. Gazing out across Tampa's skyline as the sun set was a truly magical experience. It's the kind of view that makes you appreciate the beauty of the city from a whole new perspective. And then came dessert--the Meyer lemon tiramisu and Dulce Creme Caramel. Oh, where do I even begin? This dessert was, without a doubt, one of the best I've ever had. Creamy banana ice cream paired with the rich flavors of tiramisu created a heavenly combination. Each spoonful was a symphony of flavors and textures that left us speechless. But it's not just about the food and view at Beacon; the service was exceptional too. The staff was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. In summary, Beacon is a rooftop oasis that offers not only a breathtaking view but also an unforgettable culinary journey. While I do wish there were more main course offerings, the light bites work well. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place is absolutely gorgeous. The views are everything. Service was great and quick. Sat at the bar and our bartender was very outgoing and charming. We ordered Sweet & Spicy Brussels and the Compressed Watermelon. They both were absolutely delicious. The Compressed Watermelon was a sight to see when it came out. Not sure what we were expecting, but it was plated very well and the flavors were paired to perfection. The Brussels were just as great. Our cocktails were very light and airy. So good. Wasn't able to take any photos to share but highly recommend to check them out. Reservations are preferred depending on the night of your choosing. My bestie and I got lucky one Saturday night and they were able to seat us. A very spontaneous night for us but a great time. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Not a good first impression for this place whatsoever. Had a reservation and we were seated promptly at a dirty table that hadn't even been wiped down. On top of a dirty table it took our waitress about 15 mins to finally come and take our order. We ordered one round of drinks that took 45 mins to arrive. On top of that one of the drinks came out wrong and with something floating around in it. After about 30 mins we attempted to check on our drinks and the waitress just apologized and advised she would check on the order and blamed it on a fire alarm going off prior to us arriving for our reservation. I was really looking forward to checking this place out but not sure I would be back. This place is so beautiful but not worth paying $20 a drink and for terrible service. If you are in downtown your better off stopping by the Edition for way better drinks and immaculate service.

Yelp

Yelp
While this new bar at the JW marriott tampa is known for it's tremendous views, the drinks and service were very disappointing. Did not get anything to eat but the drink choices were limiting. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Come for the amazing views and stay for a drink or two but it's not a place I would frequent often. It's a great place to go with friends or on a date and to bring out of town guests, but it wouldn't be my regular go-to spot because it's pricey and they only have small bites. I suggest catching the sunset there, having a drink, and then hitting up somewhere else nearby for dinner. Craft cocktails are pretty good but not my favorite cocktails in the area. Service is pretty good, sometimes a bit slow on a busy night. Definitely make reservations and if it's your first time, choose outdoor seating for the views.

Yelp
Came here to grab a few drinks before dinner! I made a reservation but we were running behind due to traffic from the hockey game and they were totally understanding and held our table with no issue. We got the Wishing Well and I also tried the Dodging Punches. Both were very good cocktails. It's a very cute spot with a great view of the city. Will be back to try their tapas!

Yelp
Wow, first thing about beacon is the beautiful views. Gorgeous in daytime or nighttime. When you first walk in, you notice it is really cozy and intimate vibes. We were in a section with little couch areas which is great for a date or small group. So beacon wouldn't be a spot for dinner but more so light bites and drinks. More tapas shareable style. I got the Dasterdly Devil cocktail that had mezcal and it was Smokey and delicious. For the table we got: Steamed Buns- I didn't try it because I don't eat pork but my friends enjoyed them. I would suggest having other meat options there! Shrimp Figueroa- we ordered two of these they were delicious. Sweet & Spicy Brussels- I always love ordering Brussels! Very delicious. Our server was attentive and patient. Make sure you go out to the terrace and take a picture of the beautiful views. The only suggestion is they need music, and it felt like something was missing but that's it!

Yelp
10/10 across the board! I am shocked to see 1-2 star reviews. I almost feel like people purposely write these to sabotage this amazing new roof-top lounge on 27th floor of JW Marriott with gorgeous views and superb service! I recently celebrated my birthday at BEACON and the entire team went above and beyond - from the moment we arrived to the time we left. Our original reservation was outside, but due to strong winds I knew we would get cold so the hostess quickly accommodated us and moved us inside with no fuss. Ambiance is so unique at this vibrant place. Drinks: 'Pistoles at Dawn' and 'Sage Before Beauty' were absolutely fantastic. As for the bites we opted in for Shrimp Figueroa, Medjool Dates, Fig & Pig, Compressed Watermelon and Heritage Tomato. Every single dish was so fresh, with seasonal ingredients so amazingly paired together, cheeses were high quality, and the bread was chef's kiss. Meckal, our server, accommodated us in every way possible, provided great recommendations and offered a complimentary dessert or a glass of champagne to toast for my birthday. Not every restaurant does anything for birthdays and the fact that not only do they offer a dessert of your choice, but also a drink as alternative option is pretty impressive in my opinion. The cherry on top was that the Chef Roy Bryant, came out with my dessert and a candle - Meyer Lemon Tiramisu. The tiramisu was incredible and very special with the lemon twist. The Chef sat with us and chatted for a bit to make sure we had an elevated experience. What a treat from the Chef/team - thank you!!! My husband and I are very particular about the quality of service we receive and more so - the quality of food. I can say with confidence that if you come to BEACON to celebrate anything, or just to grab a couple of bites paired with extensive drink options, you will not be disappointed. We are definitely coming back to this newly discovered and now favorite rooftop bar.

Yelp
View is what makes this place. Drink was $20. Need to try the food and will definitely be back for sunset pics!

Yelp
Loved grabbing a couple drinks here the other night! Great decor, overall vibe, and beautiful view. We were able to grab a seat quickly and our server was very attentive. We tried a couple desserts and drinks that were all so good. This felt like the perfect spot for a girl's night or a date.

Yelp
The vibes here are 10/10 and you can't beat the views. It's the best way to see all of Tampa Bay. Food is tapas style but all delicious. We tried the bao buns, Brussels, and dumplings. All were so delicious and elevated with flavors and presentation. Cocktails are crafted by meticulous bartenders and they will ensure they get your drink just right. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Tried to stop in for a drink and the ladies at the hostess stand were straight up rude. One woman at the register gave me a dirty look and they had no waitlist for people who might want to go up to the bar area. This isn't JW Marriott level hospitality that I expect as a Marriott Bonvoy member and I don't know if I will return after this to this location.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. I was excited to meet up with friends here for a fun ladies' night. We received a text message with specific dress code details earlier in the day, and we all dressed for the occasion. When I got there I learned that parking on site was going to cost $50.00...YIKES! So I drove around and found a spot on the street ($8.00 for 3 hours), thus missing the sunset and then getting lost trying to find my way. For those of you like me who may not know , there is a Marriott and a 'JW' Marriott. They are right across the street from each other, and connected by a bridge on the third floor. If you go into the wrong Marriott, you'll be directed to the bridge, and when you get across, you'll be completely lost because there's either poor or no signage... I walked down a long hallway, then in circles, then headed back over the bridge and and almost straight back to my car. Thankfully, my friend urged me not to give up. When I finally made it up to the Beacon, it was quite busy. The teal decor, fake plants, and cushioned seating around the bar reminded me of clubs I frequented in Miami Beach in the 90s. The place was busy and filled with people who'd paid no mind to dress code...hats, backward hats, jeans, sneakers, and even yoga pants! That was a little annoying (I'd planned to wear jeans until we received that text). I will say that the drinks were very good, and the service was fairly decent. We ordered eight different small plates, and none of them were strikingly amazing, but they were good. For each plate, I could think of a similar plate elsewhere that was better. I liked the pomme pave and the tiramisu the most, and I would not recommend the compressed watermelon. The medjool dates received mixed reviews from us, and again I thought of a similar dish elsewhere that was simpler yet better. If you decide to go, plan to spend about $125.00 per person for two hours of drinks and small bites, and you'll likely leave hungry. And remember, that does not include parking. Still, I would visit again in a quiet weeknight for one or two drinks to watch the sunset, and see the gorgeous views of Tampa.
